    California roll and sauce

This place was lovely. My brother and I moved to Virginia less than a month ago and he's absolutely obsessed with sushi and everything similar to it. He was very excited to try this place out and it did not disappoint! Genuinely my favorite California roll I have ever had and he said that his rolls were definitely in his top three. It was fresh and refreshing, not to mention the sauce was to die for. It's liquidy which is perfect for coating the rice and not just sitting on top of it. We were very tempted to go back in and get more but alas, we don't have a whole lot saved. We will definitely be going there at least once a week. The family running the place is very kind and sweet. 11/10 would absolutely recommend to everyone.

My daughter and I decided to try More than Sushi on a Staples Mill Rd for dinner tonight because they advertise $2 Margaritas on Thursdays and a decent looking chicken hibachi. For starters, they don't put alcohol in the margarita, it's just juice. So that's false advertisement. Second, the hibachi presented looked nothing like the pictures. We only had zucchini and carrots with white rice and some sort of teriyaki sauce over the chicken. My daughter had the shrimp hibachi and it was so salty she couldn't eat it. Their spring rolls were BOGO so we had 3 a piece and they were definitely overcooked. The outside was hard and the inside was mushy. We did request our money back for the shrimp hibachi, but I'm taking the chicken home to try to salvage it. Oh and the yum yum sauce.....NO. It's a cute spot but I won't be returning.

Gyoza (I had already ate a few)

Sushi looks concerning and not freshly made. Price may be cheaper but spend a few more bucks somewhere else

I particularly like the Orange Pineapple and Orange Mango, but you can't go wrong with any of them. At just around $7 the price point is in line with what you would expect for a coffee replacement. The pastries are where Ben Wong shines. Showcased in the middle of the cafe, the ability to self select pastries often leaves me going home with more than I expect. The Pineapple Bun is fluffy with a mild sweetness, the Chicken Curry Bun is savory with a satisfying crunchy exterior, and the Taro Buns have a rich taro flavor. At $3-$5 per pastry you can't go wrong with any of them.

I really love their drinks especially though; the tiramisu latte is sweet but delightful. Their bubble teas, especially the creme brulee, are good too, and I love their blueberry fruit tea! Of their pastries, I've enjoyed their berry-focused ones the best, such as the strawberry cake. It's close by and my boyfriend loves it here, so I'm sure to be back soon. Prices aren't bad either.

Overall, this location of Brecotea has standard drinks-- I especially enjoy the fruit tea and milk cap selection. Regardless, I have to take off a star for the boba quality the last time I went. It was a little undercooked and too firm. I ordered it with the Oreo milk tea (half sweet) and it was sadly lacking in the Oreo department.

Stumbled into this place after attending an event at a neighboring restaurant…read more I got the boba brown sugar cake shake and it was the *most amazing* boba drink I've ever had. It was sweet and creamy and the cake topping was smooth and sweet and foamy. They boba were squishy and chewy and you could actually TASTE the brown sugar flavor in them which I loved, bc I'm *picky* about boba. Nothing worse than a flavorless ball of nothing. After dreaming about this drink literally all week, l returned on Sunday afternoon with my partner. I got the same exact drink but it was nasty this time. (A different person was working, which is likely why, but It was still disappointing.) I only finished it bc I paid for it, but it just was not good. The boba were HARD and when you bit into them, you could see the lack of moisture in the middle. My partner got the pineapple passion fruit tea and liked it, aside from the boba being too hard. They have a gorgeous selection of baked goods, so I also tried the french cheesecake. It was...different. Less rich and way less sweet than your average cheesecake. You can really taste the cheese aspect. Not for me. This place is like a 20 minute drive for me, so I doubt I'll ever go out of my way to come here again.

She said it's a smoothie, dairy is it. And I said I realize most do but was wondering if it could be replaced with nondairy as there are people with allergies. She said wished you had come up sooner and I said that why I'm up here. There was only another order ahead of me. She said well your order is already up. I said nothing because I can't have it. And finally asked what I'd wanted to replace it with. She was mad at me, and made sure I knew by throwing the drink loudly in the trash can. I get it everyone has a bad day. My order shouldn't have warrant for that behavior. It was an honest mistake on my part as I should have asked from the beginning but the kiosk didn't inform me properly. I hope this is a good reminder for the business that people/customers could have been having a bad day, sick, have cancer, someone that knew just passed away and they came to your place looking for a little treat. At least as I was waiting for my new drink was that she was much nicer to other customers. But here's a tip if you want to keep your business running. But kind. It's clear that the other reviews also share the same experience of rudeness. Because it was my first time. It will also be my last. There are so many other boba teas out there.
