The drinks are made well. The availability of certain things, service, and response is terrible. The only benefits of ordering with the app are getting points and the occasional deal. Many times the the actual time of when my order is ready is plus or minus 10 minutes of the time the app says. So sometimes my drink will be watered down because most of the ice have melted or sometimes I'm waiting 10mins or like my recent order about 30 mins. Also, many times I get a phone call or I arrive to the store and they tell me they can't fulfill my order because they are out of an ingredient. When they run out of something it takes them months to get it back in stock. Meanwhile, the grace street location would have the ingredients. I can't believe we have a legit boba tea shop in the west end! I am seriously so excited and when I found out it was open I seriously went 2 days in a row . This will be seriously dangerous for me. I've been on a sesame matcha with boba and red bean kick these days. The sesame adds a roasted flavor to the matcha and the boba and red bean is the perfect texture. This location is out of some of the seasonal drinks but makes the majority of the menu . They are overall quick and the facility is clean. Location can be tricky since it's in the back of the shopping center and the shop and parking lot is not big itself. I can see that on the weekend this place is jumpin. Overall I will always have a love for Kung fu and the fact that's it's so close to is a better bonus . read more

It's about time we got a Kung Fu Tea in the West End! My family and I jetted over to check this place out as soon as we heard that they were open. They are currently in their soft opening phase (their grand opening isn't until another month or so) and I was very impressed with my first experience there. Most of the time I would run into some type of hiccup during soft openings (understandably, of course), but this place got their drinks down to a tea (get it? XD) I was expecting a pretty long wait for our drinks since they just opened and the customer before us ordered about 15 drinks to go. However, they were cranking out drinks so quickly that we got our drinks pretty much immediately after the to go order was completed, it didn't take long at all. My family and I got the Kung Fu Milk Tea with boba, Kung Fu Milk Green Tea with herbal jelly, and the Sesame Matcha Milk Strike with herbal jelly (all with regular sugar and regular ice) - we loved them all. Surprisingly, my favorite was the milk green tea. In my opinion, the drinks with regular sugar were sweetened PERFECTLY (I always have to ask for less sugar at Queens and Brecotea) and I absolutely LOVE the consistency their boba (not too hard but not too chewy as well). I like that there are a variety of toppings to choose from, including my absolute fave, pudding! The only thing that could have made this experience even better than it was already is if they offered Thai milk tea. I'm hoping they'll have this on their menu in the near future. I just recently discovered this location in the west end and was pleasantly surprised to find out we finally have one on my side of town. Normally, I have to drive downtown to get one so that meant not having it that often because I hate to deal with the parking issue. So, imagine my surprise to find one around the corner from my house! YES!! My daughter and I went and tried something new, a Mango Green Tea with boba and fruit jellie. Absolutely delicious! This was our first time and ordering was almost overwhelming because there are so many awesome choices! It was also exciting to see that the milk they use for any milk teas is Lactaid so even those with lactose allergies can enjoy them. I love bubble tea, and this place is a good fix for my cravings. As some of the other reviewers said, the sugar level can be quite high in the drinks. I normally ask for 50% or 70% sugar in my drinks, but sometimes, they can still be too sweet. The flavors offered here are still delicious even with less sugar. The quality of the bubbles is very nice (chewy but not too chewy) and the other toppings are also good. My favorites have been Taro Milk Green Tea and Matcha Slush with Red Beans. They are pretty fast at making the tea. I've only had to wait for a long time when there have been a lot of people before me, and whenever I order ahead, they put out my drinks very close to the selected pick-up time. This is a great place for bubble tea in the West End, since the VCU one was a bit far (parking is also much easier). read more

Update! I am a happy camper. I went back and I got my beloved hot honey milk tea 50% less sugar and there was that consistency I was looking for. It was creamy, hot, comforting, and really delicious. Upon my last review, the manager reached out and offered a drink on the house despite my mediocre review. I think that was great customer service on their end and is something that I don't easily overlook. The level of attention, receptiveness, and responsibility is definitely a quality I really appreciate in a new business that plans to grow. Although the service greatly improved, I was still a little disappointed in my drink after going back. It was still extremely sweet despite having it with reduced sugar (70%). As a previous KFT employee, I'm surprised by the difference in the ways the drinks are made. Typically, sugar levels are reduced when toppings are added and toppings are completely drained of excess sugars before being added into the drinks; however, I think this establishment runs things a bit differently. Workers are constantly not doing their job, tend to spend more time playing with their friends than actually working. Have witnessed them close at least an hour or two early multiple times, despite there being about 15-20 people in the store chatting (with more entering as I write this review, visible in attached photo) Have put in orders through the mobile app before while in the parking lot and watched them continue to sit around and play. Nobody else in the store and they didn't start working on the order until about 10 minutes later when I decided to walk inside. Get orders wrong constantly. Had a span of time recently where they got my order wrong 3 days in a row, forgetting to put my toppings in each time. I didn't catch it until I was about 10 minutes away the first time, but made sure to start checking each time after that (I get mine hot, so it's not visible through the cup). If I just wanted a cup of hot tea, I'm not coming here to pay $5 for it. I've put up with it since it meant I didn't have to drive into the city every time I wanted boba, but at this point it's just not worth coming here anymore. read more

I really like this place. I frequently go to the other location near VCU and this has a better vibe. They did mess my first drink up when I went and sweetened it wrong but they fixed it without any issue. I wish they were in a more visible location in front of this shopping center or closer in Short Pump to gain the traffic they deserve and more attention. There's no big sign saying that there. I prefer the VCU campus one, i used to go there all the time as a student and ik how the drinks taste, but the ones here are v different. I'm a black-belt on the kft app, so I hope that sets the preface that I get a lot of tea. Also the boba was bad. Whoever cooked it didn't soak them long enough bc they didn't taste like anything and were like horribly chewy. I will honestly only go here if i don't want to drive downtown. If you want any changes to your drink, don't go here bc they can't even make it right in the first place. If a customer asks for extra something like milk powder, less milk powder, lemon, lychee, or whatever it's really not hard to do it (the vcu kft will do it no problem). Since this was my first time at this place I asked for a recommendation. I wanted a milk yea and It was suggested I try the honey oolong milk tea.
