I did not taste the matcha really; nevertheless, I enjoyed it. It's rich but not overly sweet. The pineapple bun was okay. I had better pineapple bun at Full Kee in Richmond. Ube bun was horrible. It was not good and not sweet. The filling was not ube; it was just bean filling heavily colored purple to make it look like ube. Extremely disappointing. The strawberry cake and mango cake were fine. They have a promo where one can get strawberry cake for a $1 if you become a member. We saw strawberry cake slices on display and were excited to avail of this only to get to the counter and be told that the strawberry cake that we saw on display was not the same strawberry cake included in the promo. Again, this was disappointing since the posters and the signs in the display both said strawberry cake. The lady behind the counter was not the friendliest either. When I had the other bread boxed for to go, she tried shoving it in a small box even though it did not fit. She did eventually get a box that fitted the bread. read more

Stopped by here on a Monday afternoon while passing through Richmond for a roadtrip and it wasn't too busy. There are plenty of pastries and cakes to choose from. There is lots of seating and people studying/doing work on laptops. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. We got the pineapple bun, matcha milk paradise, and grapefruit sparkling tea. This place is very pretty on the inside!!! The tables are adorable and you also have a showcase of different pastries that are grab and go. They're in separate cases and you grab a tray and take it to the front and they'll heat it up, and you pay attention the register. They have cakes, boba, smoothies, croissants, rolls, and much more. I got the pork roll and a strawberry cream pastry. My daughter got the cream cheese roll, and mixed berry cream croissant. The cheese roll had a sweet bread and was tasty. The pork roll was salty with bacon pieces and scallions and it was warmed up. My favorite was the mixed berry croissant and the strawberry cream pastry. I'd definitely get them again!! We also got a fruit tea and a brown sugar milk drink with cake foam. It was delicious. Next time I'll get it without boba though because it seemed like more boba than drink.. It feels like I was chewing forever. Lol. The customer service there was top notch also. The lady at the counter answered all of our questions and was very informative. I got the boba taro matcha latte ($7). Drink was made in about 3 minutes. It had a good amount of sweetness, but not overly strong. There was plenty of boba, however they didn't really taste as fresh as some other places (still good). First, the atmosphere of this place is awesome! Super spacious, clean aesthetic. I missed the pastry wall when I first came in! I got the creme brûlée milk tea. It was pretty good! Next time I'll mix it better because when I got to the bottom it was all foam & lots of flavor. I also got an ube bun & egg tart. Both were good, but tasted a bit undercooked. The tart was nice and buttery, but the dough was underdone on the bottom. There were no tongs at the front and was waiting at the counter for a good 5 minutes just to get one, whoever was leaving that shift didn't bother asking if I needed help right before she left -- I wouldn't leave a customer hanging despite shift end. Back again! The perfect spot when you are craving a sweet treat to hold you over until dinner. The afternoon crowd is very hit or miss. I got here around 3pm on a Sunday and there was one person in line and plenty of seats. 15 minutes later the place was packed and had about 10 people in line. I tried the Berries & Crème Croissant- rich, sweet crème with blackberries & blueberries and some blackberry drizzle. So good! I also tried a chocolate bun. The thick chocolate filling inside did not disappoint and was smooth and velvety when warmed. My only complaint was I just wanted a black tea and the large for that wasn't very big. The young lady put my tea in incorrectly (I think she truly thought she did it right) and the wrong tea came out. The other young lady making the drink suggested I get a refund since I paid too much and made sure I was taken care of. Overall a very pleasant place though it can get noisy when crowded. We tried the sparkling strawberry tea and their oolong milk tea with boba. I expected the sparkling strawberry tea to contain more carbonation. They do sell bottled drinks, their own brand of tumblr, cakes and of course boba drinks! I got the matcha boba milk tea. I did pick up a few pastries and I bought a birthday cake for my grandma! The cake comes with a "happy birthday" topper and candle which I thought was a really good deal! The boba drink I got was good. My brother in-law got a fruit drink (forgot the name), and said it wasn't very good. Overall: The boba was good, but it depends on the other drinks as I haven't tried the others yet. I was excited to try this bakery based on all of the reviews. First off, I'm not a Boba tea person, I primarily came for the pastries. I opted for a chocolate croissant and a blueberry custard danish. Both looked really yummy! I decided to get a cup of hot coffee to drink with my pastries. I typically drink my coffee black, but this coffee was so unbelievably bitter that I had to add cream and sweetner to make it tolerable. The chocolate croissant was really good, however, it was extremely crumbly. Each time I took a bite, pieces of the outside dropped everywhere. The blueberry custard danish also had a good taste, but was really dry and needed more custard. Overall, this was an ok experience. I'd come back to try different things. This place is nothing short of amazing. You start by getting your own pastries and then you can order dessert or drinks (boba, fruit teas, coffee, etc...) from behind the glass. It was so cool, and we loved how it was self serve with clean tongs for each person and a clean tray for each. They do heat your pastries for you, if you'd like, which is nice! We sat in the middle area and enjoyed our ube oastry, which was so delicious and incredibly light (not at all like a bagel, which is what we thought it would be like). Now this spot... it's exactly what you may see on their Instagram. The place is beautiful and spotless, and their pastry/dessert display is breathtaking. Both of these drinks were pretty good, I was not a HUGE fan of the boba, but it was not bad. Second time, I got to also try the bakery. I got one of their Ube Buns and Milk Breads. I am decidedly on the fence on this one. I am very fond of milk tea, and also very fond of milk bread and things like red bean buns, so I was extremely excited when I stumbled across this place. I've had a good number of very similar baked goods from bakeries on the east and west coast both, though, and it's done things for my standards. The venue itself is bright and airy and the staff is truly lovely, it's a wonderful place to sit down and enjoy a snack. I also very much appreciated that the filling the chocolate cream bun was of bitter chocolate, and not too sweet. Sometimes they're a little much to try and handle. The milk bread for the buns themselves was soft and light, as it should be, and very pleasing. The topping on the ube bun was unpleasantly textured and stuck to the inside of my mouth, though, and the topping on the chocolate bun didn't taste good (the rest of the bun did, waste not, want not). My milk tea also had an odd almost powdered milk taste and I do wonder if they don't use evaporated milk for the teas (I intend to ask next time). I still want to go back, try a different tea and have (at the very least) some mango cake, though. Shall update when I do! read more

It was nice to find an Asian bakery in the area! This place is open and airy with baked goods lined up in the nicest display cases on the right wall as soon as you walk in. The boba & tea options aren't quite the same as what you'd find in California, but this is a really great option for the area! A lot of what we got tasted like powder (vs using fresh fruit or syrup) so that was a bit of a let down. The smoothies all have tea in them, so if you're looking for a smoothie with just fruit and milk - they can't make that here (at least that's what the person at the register told me). Oh, and they don't do split cups, so heads up in case you were wondering. You can adjust the sweetness / milk option for your boba order which is great!
