Really cute cafe near Short Pump with both indoor and outdoor seating. The baristas were friendly and gave great recommendations. We ordered the egg bites, which were okay but nothing special. I also got a latte that tasted a little sour, not sure if the milk was bad or the coffee is too bitter. I asked if they could remake it, and they were super nice about it. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and got a ginger bread latte ($6) and it was made in about 5 minutes. Drink was quite good! It was sweet and resembled a gingerbread taste while also not being overly sugary. A nice seasonal flavor! Staff were very friendly and the inside had a very aesthetically look with a cool painted wall of a fox. I would come back again! Hadn't heard of this coffee shop before the day I stopped by. Nicely designed with cool vibes. Their little pastry case had some nice treat options and I liked how they had a menu board that described each type of coffee drink for those that feel intimidated to ask or order something new. I was there with my young daughter so she grabbed a bottled lemonade and a fix decorated sugar cookie. I got a cortado with a chocolate croissant to dip in. We sat at the hightop seating in front of the coffee counter. I liked the pace and offerings of this cafe and I would definitely go back. I want to try one of their affogatos! We were looking for a coffee when we were in the Short Pump area in the morning and Foxtail was a good option that didn't feel like a big chain which was nice. The decor and style of the store was really cool with art on the walls and wooden features. I was greeted by one of the baristas and he was super friendly and fast with getting our orders out. I got an iced mocha and my husband got a regular hot latte. He was very happy with his and had no complaints. Mine tasted a little more bland/weak coffee wise than I was hoping for. Over all though it was pretty good. It wouldn't my top choice of coffee but I'm glad I tried it and have it as an option in the Short Pump area. read more

Stopped in first thing in the morning with a group of 8. Staff was friendly and ready to assist. An assortment of breakfast sandwiches and drinks were ordered and the staff had them out quick. My cold brew was great, roast was on the lighter side, but smooth and flavorful. I'd definitely come back to try some additional items. read more

It's nice to have other options for coffee but the espresso was pretty bitter the first time I tried it. When I got an Americano a few days later, it was so much better. I'd like to come back to try some baked goods. Prices seem reasonable and there are plenty of options. They also serve wine and beer. We got sparkling wine to enjoy while sitting outside. I would not have known Foxtail Coffee was a chain based on our experience! The shop felt local. They have a "Pup Board" where they take Polaroid pictures of dogs and donate $5 per picture to Richmond Animal Care and Control. There is some seating inside though it can be crowded during peak hours. They also have a decent amount of seating outside, most of which is in shade. I'm not a huge coffee drinker so their espresso description graphic is super helpful at explaining the difference between drinks. I tried the matcha tea latte and loved it - it came sweetened and had a vibrant color. They also have baked goods, gelato, and beer & wine. read more

Cute little coffee shop with a ton of different breakfast sandwiches, pastries, etc. I tried the iced strawberry chai and despite my initial concern after seeing the color of the drink, I was pleasantly surprised. Delicious coffee, easy parking, friendly staff. My mom and I stopped in for an afternoon snack before driving home (her to Staunton and me to Va Beach) after meeting up mid-way for lunch on a Saturday. We arrived around 6pm and there was no line, staff were super friendly and attentive, and we ordered some tea, gelato, banana bread and coffee. The banana bread was soft and delicious and my latte was wonderful and full-flavored. I like a strong coffee and this is exactly what that was. The inside is beautiful and I love the decor - some instagram worthy areas for sure and classy design with two clean bathrooms and a baby changing station (important right now). There is a connected free parking garage and some lots and street parking - this is a very walkable area and there are tons of other shops and things to do here and a small park. read more

A really cute coffee shop and I love all of the fox items around. Not a lot of seating inside and they have one long high top table that takes up a lot of space and several four tops. I was a little surprised there weren't more two tops. My friend and I felt bad taking a four top when it was just us two. I'm sure they know their customers and have it set up appropriately. They have seating on their outside patio if the weather is nice. I ordered a coffee and was disappointed to see that all of their coffees are served in disposable cups. I always love trying new to me coffee shops. The decor is super cute here. There is a good amount of free street parallel parking out front and nearby. There were also a lot of seating options available which is nice. I loved all the natural lighting that spilled in the space. It was a bit busy when we came and it is a newer spot. I ordered a croissant egg ham cheese, bagel sausage egg cheese, and a latte. My partner ordered some holiday latte. We enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches. They reminded me a little of the Starbucks kind where it's prepackaged then heated, which I never mind. The sandwiches were a great way to start the day. As for the coffee, we unfortunately didn't finish drinking them. It felt like it wasn't mixed properly or maybe was too artificial with the wrong portions. So, if you're looking for a new spot for studying/co-working and don't mind a little background noise, this is a good spot for that. I love the walkable accessibility, but remember this is short pump, so don't expect parking. The coffee....meh I prefer my fave local coffee shops. I had a latte and I tasted mostly milk & water. I'd love to learn more about how they source their beans; perhaps there's more flavors in other blends. My friend's matcha was really good, though. The chocolate croissant is cute...It's no Parisian cafe, but it's a great balance of chocolate and pastry. I'd say the service is pretty on par with the area, no complaints. read more

The shop itself is nicely decorated and has the farmhouse feel with reclaimed wood on the bar and a very cool tin ceiling. Could use a little more seating. It was a balmy 34 degrees when I met a friend so people were def waiting for seats to open up. Someone on staff said hello when I walked in but the person taking my order was not exactly enthusiastic. The barista who gave me my drink was nice though. I got their seasonal gingerbread dirty chai latte. I was pleasantly surprised because it was not overly sweet and did have a taste of gingerbread and not just chai. It was pricer than I was expecting at eight dollars with tax so I'll probably stick to Blanchard's when I want to treat myself, but not a bad place to meet someone for coffee in the short pump area. This was a cute little Out thë way coffee shop, and I must say I was pleased to see that this location had ice cream and a little bakery options. The baristas greeted us with smiles, which honestly goes a really long way. It's the first foray of the Foxtail coffee chain into Virginia (heck the next closest one is in Atlanta!) - It's a decent Florida based coffee company with an inviting interior and a laid back vibe. Now you know my issue with computer folks taking a table and camping out for inordinate amounts of time, but hopefully this will prove to be more of a neighborhood spot that allows for some room for those of us who aren't studying. We'll see. I was pleasantly greeted and the server was quite patient with my Foxtail Coffee chain ignorance, which I liked. As far as the coffee is concerned it's quite good and the varieties of roasts and flavors is extensive. They DO charge for milk alternatives but since it's a chain and I'm assuming a competitor with that not-to-be-named "fish lady" company, that may also be looked at down the road. I liked my latte and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her cappuccino. More to come with food and gelato choices (I'm sure an affogato is a good choice here). So cheers to a new Short Pump/West End spot in West Broad Village (they certainly can use the business as Burger Bach gave up recently). I will put this spot in rotation and update as I try the other options. For now visits are thoroughly encouraged. read more

Stopped in for a coffee at 12:30pm. Tried the cold brew... not bad at all! however, i asked the barista to leave some room for milk. Expecting just an ounce or two, the brew arrived by what tasted and looked like half a cup of milk. I was able to drink about 1/3. To staff's credit, i went back to the counter and asked if it could be topped off with cold brew, no milk this time. Problem solved and very much appreciated the kind customer service! Nice atmosphere but the barista did not explain the menu at all. When I wanted a macchiato I was asked if I wanted traditional or like Starbucks. Without any other explanation I chose traditional thinking it was just their own version. The barista rolled her eyes and gave me a weird smirk, and began making me one. I was handed a 2 oz shot, and still paid $16 for my shot, tasteless egg bites, and a regular coffee with NO MILK OR SUGAR Over priced and overwhelming! read more
