The parking was hit or miss. We got a reasonable spot nearby, but your mileage may vary. Walking into the restaurant, we noticed a wide selection of drinks on order. We stuck to water, but they have cocktails of all calibers here. The temperature inside was chilly, and I wished I'd brought a sweater or jacket. I'm sure others feel differently, though, I'm not a fan of the cold. I ordered sushi, including the wonder woman, sweet potato, and spicy tuna. They were all tasty, though spicy tuna as always remains my favorite. My partner ordered the orange chicken because she doesn't care for sushi, but it was pretty fantastic as well. I tried a sample of the chicken and the salad, and both were excellent. Our server was kind and provided excellent service. She never lingered, and continued working diligently all evening. The experience overall was majorly positive, and I would recommend to any who are looking for a solid Asian-fusion spot. I'd give five stars if the sushi was better. The menu is huge and has such a broad variety, but it was actually to the point of being overwhelming. They have sushi, stir fries, pho, and more. Everything sounded good and everything I tried had excellent flavors. Prices are about what you'd expect. Tons of variety in sushi alone, but the menu is so huge that it can definitely be overwhelming. I'd recommend choosing one section and committing to choose from within it because it's very overwhelming otherwise. It's quite small inside, so you'll be very close to the table next to you. It's definitely not the place if you're bothered by close proximity to others or if you are uncomfortable conversing in close proximity to the strangers next to you. If you have any issues with strange people being near you, you may not be able to tolerate this place. I really loved the ceviche with the soy sauce, green onion, jalapeno and sesame seeds. It was very flavorful! This particular ceviche was in a different place on the menu. Just a heads-up, I had a great waiter who informed me that the tamago has gluten in the binder, so definitely bear that in mind if you have gluten issues, as opposed to simply reading the menu and judging by that. The Tina roll made gluten-free was delicious. Somehow, there's gluten in the spicy sauce so, unfortunately, that's part of the dish. I really would've enjoyed the spicy sauce on the sushi, but appreciated the waiter's forewarning that the spicy sauce has gluten so that I didn't get sick. As for service, it was exceptionally warm and welcoming staff, very genuine. The waiter was excellent, and he even gave a recommendation without waiting to be asked, which I love, and his recommendation for the soy-based ceviche was wonderful. It had a surprising and very much-appreciated bite from jalapenos. The more traditional ceviche had a clear sauce with sliced jalapenos, and that was good too. I love that this place isn't afraid of punchy spice. There are a number of spicy options, and they're never dumbed down to please everyone. The fish didn't taste quite as clean and fresh as I'm used to, but the flavors in all of the dishes were amazing! The freaking lobster dumpling was unreal! Needed to be served with bread. I will be back soon, we were full and looking at what to get next time. They were extremely accommodating, which isn't always an easy thing when it comes to changing sushi rolls. The sushi/fish quality here puts the other establishments to SHAME!!! We got a table in the back room and were immediately greeted by our server. We opted pork gyoza and the crab ball special as appetizers and my friend and I split a shrimp tempura roll, a Philly roll, and a Lucky AF roll, while her husband got a teriyaki beef plate. I have never received service this incompetent and dismissive over the phone in all my years of ordering from restaurants. I placed an order through DoorDash for three salmon avocado rolls from Lucky and immediately called the restaurant to request that no wasabi be included, due to a digestive issue. I was told bluntly that they were unable to accommodate any special requests, even though DoorDash allowed nearly every other customization option--except for removing spice components like wasabi. When I explained that it should be a simple matter to notify the kitchen and leave off the wasabi, I was met with flat refusal and an incredibly rude tone. I emphasized that including wasabi could cause me serious harm, but the staff showed no concern and no willingness to make even the smallest effort to help. Unless you're comfortable being treated with disregard and served food that could seriously affect your health, I would strongly recommend ordering from somewhere else. The inside is a bit small and the table are a bit close to each other to maximize customer. Overall I was surprised with the size and taste of the poke bowl, you get an amazing deal during lunch! Been meaning to try this place for a while since it's owned by the same people who run red salt and Osaka. Has a lot of similar menu items but a totally different vibe being down in Scott's Addition. Definitely caters to a younger crowd. And like all places in SA parking is a concern. Not sure anyone thought about parking when they started the revival in this area years ago. I don't mind a walk though so for me it's not a big deal but for some it might be an issue We stuck with sushi for this outing and we're not disappointed. Really enjoyed everything we got and appreciated the menu differences from their other two establishments. Our staples of Tuna Tataki and truffle ménage à trois were thankfully both on the menu and divine of course. For entrées, we got the Amirah, (regular yellowtail substituted for spicy yellowtail) and it was refreshing and tasty with the caviar, crunch and cilantro adding nice flavor. We also got the Christmas roll (a basic staple that is always done well) the Harley Quinn- a very unique and surprising flavor combination where the lemon zest and the jalapeño sauce really made it pop and the Green Lantern with regular tuna instead of spicy tuna. This one was also good, but would've preferred the spicy aïoli on the side; we thought it would've been on the plate, but it ended up on top of the roll so good to know for future orders. Atmosphere was dark modern pub style with loud music. Would have preferred music to be a little quieter so conversation was more accessible. Literally didn't hear the server's name when they first approached but they were incredibly friendly and attentive. Next time probably will try the outside patio in the back but might be tricky because they don't take reservations for parties less than six so you really have to show up early. We thought at 5:15 we would have some choices but ended up waiting five minutes with no choices. But I guess it was a Saturday c'est la vie. read more

This a solid sushi restaurant with some added flare on some dishes. We started with a ginger salad, crispy shrimp rolls, and shrimp shumai off the Happy Hour menu. The ginger dressing was a little sweet for my liking but got the job done. I am not a fan of the shrimp shumai here, the shrimp have that faint chemical taste you can get sometimes and they just don't hit the marks. The crispy shrimp rolls may seem intimidating when you read the inclusion of American cheese but it somehow works. They are an easy crowd pleaser especially with kids, or pick eaters. Our favorite roll is the Kamehameha-which if you've been to Osaka is the same as their Poinsettia roll. Last night the preparation seemed a little off but the flavors were still there. The front of the restaurant is typically where we have been sat which is usually a bit quieter but often has an off putting cleaner smell that is unpleasant. Last night we were sat in the back though which is much more active and louder (no weird smell). Atmosphere is somewhat similar to Sticky Rice but slightly elevated and more room. The fact that they do have a parking lot is worth noting although there are limited spaces. I'd say this is a great spot for a group of friends or place to grab a unique drink and a roll. read more

My husband and I both ordered the bento boxes which offer SO much food for the price. Everything was really good except the proteins were both a little underwhelming. The flavor was good but not great. Next time we will probably try one of the entrees instead. The real star of our meal was the lobster dumplings. I saw they were highly recommended on Yelp but $16 for an appetizer made me hesitant. I'm so glad we got them because they really were that good. There was a 30 minute wait when we arrived around dinner time but we were able to sit on the patio immediately. It was a 90 degree day but we got a table next to the fan which made it much more tolerable. Our 7 month old tried most of the items in our bento box. I should be embarrassed to say I went here 3 times this week. The Superman roll and the Batman roll are PHENOMENAL. This time around I also tried the lobster dumplings and the kids bento box which comes with pork dumplings, a spring roll and sesame chicken. The spring rolls are different but I like them; they have American cheese inside as well as shrimp and imitation crab meat but the flavors come together nicely.
