PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great service, Christina was an amazing bartender. My wife and I decided to do a day date, and wanted some good sushi. EVERYTHING was GREAT! The freaking lobster dumpling was unreal! Needed to be served with bread. I will be back soon, we were full and looking at what to get next time. They were extremely accommodating, which isn't always an easy thing when it comes to changing sushi rolls. I'm allergic to fin fish, and can only eat shellfish and they were able to make each roll without the fish. I honestly want to go back this week hahaha

This is the best sushi in Richmond! I'm visiting for a few months and had sushi elsewhere and didn't think it was bad until I tried this place. The sushi/fish quality here puts the other establishments to SHAME!!! If you want sushi in Richmond this is the place to get it, all the servers were lovely and the establishment clean with nice bathrooms and they have an outdoor and indoor seating area. Outdoor does have heaters. 10/10 recommend, and can't wait to come back

Sat out on the back patio, it was very nice! Great service, had 4 rolls and sake, very good! Had the Fat Dragon, Green Lantern, Harley Quinn, and Blue Monday. Will be back, best rolls in the area!

Tried going here abt a year ago and didn't wanna wait the 1 hr long wait. So I recently went and snagged a seat for lunch and absolutely loved the visit ! Food was yummy, service was great. I loved the interior design too it was lovely. Only downside was the fact that I broke a bracelet right in the middle of my lunch and it went everywhere... but the servers were lovely enough to help pick up the beads ! Def gonna be a repeat visitor !

Blueberry Lemonade, yummy!

Friends and I stopped in last night for dinner. This was our first visit to this restaurant. The hardest part about this place is finding parking, especially on a Friday night. We got a table in the back room and were immediately greeted by our server. We opted pork gyoza and the crab ball special as appetizers and my friend and I split a shrimp tempura roll, a Philly roll, and a Lucky AF roll, while her husband got a teriyaki beef plate. I really liked everything I tried. We ate it so fast that I didn't get any pictures! We also enjoyed several drinks from the bar (my favorite was the blueberry lemonade). I can see why this place is so popular and I'll definitely be back.

Stop by here on a whim and man it was so worth it! Great atmosphere from the moment you walk in. I sat at the bar and Christina took care of me. She was Knowledgeable and fun. I started with a new fashioned the Spicy Kani salad. This was so good and had a great spicy to it. They have fun names for their sushi rolls. I had the Wonder Woman and it was so fresh. When I come back up to Richmond I will come back here no questions asked.

Vegan veg gyoza $7.50
Mitasha P.

Grilled miso calamari ($14.90) was good. They tried to spell "Lucky" with sriracha, but it kind of made the plating a little messy. Vegetable gyoza ($7.50) was seared well - had a crispy exterior and a soft, savory vegetable filling. They were quite busy, but we were able to get seating in their outdoor courtyard, which was decorated with East Asian vibes. Sapporo beer was $7 and their margarita was $8. Reasonable prices. Service was excellent. Our server was able to recommend other places to check out in the area.

Toro nigiri

Perfect for a quick lunch. It wasn't too busy when we arrived around 1:45pm. Ordered a toro nigiri as it was on the special menu - the pieces were larger than expected which was nice. Also got the Lunch Maki #1 - so yummy. We added a side of spicy aioli and eel sauce for dipping the pieces.

Really great happy hour. Recommendations the galaga roll and the robin roll. The pho beef springs are also a nice to have

Lucky AF is a great spot for lunch! My boyfriend & I were both very happy when we stopped in yesterday for a light lunch and had the bento boxes. I went for the teriyaki chicken and he chose the lucky shrimp. Love all that you get for $15 with a bento: miso soup, ginger salad, protein, fried rice, California roll, along with what was my favorite, the shrimp spring roll. The decor & vibes are trendy and intimate without being pretentious. Our server and the hostess were also incredibly nice!

I came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch and got the Salmon Poke Bowl ($16). Food came out in about 15 minutes. I was warned prior about the size but when it came to the table I was amazed by the huge plate. There was a lot of food here. The sushi rice was season well and slightly sweet with a sesame taste. I chose between a chimichurri sauce and mixture of yum yum, soy, and siracha mayo. A surprisingly generous portion of salmon which did taste good. Staff was very friendly, but could've been much better with bill as we waited about 10 minutes when our meals were done. The inside is a bit small and the table are a bit close to each other to maximize customer. Overall I was surprised with the size and taste of the poke bowl, you get an amazing deal during lunch! It was one of the better poke bowls I've had. I'm definitely coming back again! Food(50%): 8.8 Staff/service(25%): 7.5 Value(25%): 9.5 Overall: 8.7/10

Steamed Shrimp Shumai - came out hot and perfectly cooked.
P.K. S.

Such a cool spot! Exactly what you'd expect from a hipster RVA/Scott's Addition sushi bar. Dim lighting, amazing music, and inventive cocktails. Service was quick, attentive, and helpful in narrowing down the options. We went on a Friday night for happy hour and had no problem snagging a table around 5pm. The appetizers themselves are spectacular! The steamed shumai was perfectly cooked. The spicy edamame had a housemade chili sauce that I wish they'd bottle up and sell - it was SO flavorful. I'm a big sauce girl, and that was one of the most amazing tasting sauces. The lychee martini was good! I like sweet but this was really sweet if that's your jam, but refreshing nonetheless. My friend got the Writers Block mocktail, and it was better than mine! TBH, the sushi was just fine. Super fresh and delicious, but Akida or Osaka remain my go-to sushi spots in RVA.

Never has such a delightful eatery been so aptly named! Trouvaille is a glorious find indeed! Mind you, if you read my reviews you will see I know a bit about good cocktails and better food! So context: I was completely blown away by this little tucked away spot on Lombardy Street in Richmond's glorious Fan neighborhood. To begin: Top shelf alcohol, merged into glorious soothing cocktails expertly blended and presented as swanky as any NYC or SF bar! If you like an expertly blended Manhattan this is the place. Next time the old fashioned or anything frankly on the menu! For dinner: I had the gnocchi with fresh spring peas in a light cream sauce with the kind of tender savory chicken one dreams of. The whole thing was an imaginative yet comforting fusion of Japanese-Italian-American comfort food. Think: deconstructed chicken pot pie! Hubby had the short ribs which melted in my mouth alongside a perfectly crispy yet tender Japanese inspired (Korean?) rice cake next to perfectly unctuous kimchi!! Just amazing! I traveled the world in every bite! Umami perfection. But I skipped telling you about the appetizer of fresh spring salad with arugula, burrata, and just fresh everything. The dressing was a tiny but overpowering but totally tolerable because of the perfect tang and balance of creaminess. So good and the serving was beyond generous! We ordered delicious Homemade... like a truly homemade fresh loaf of bread arrived with perfectly not-too-sweet strawberry (what?) butter!! And save room for dessert! The oh so thin crepe cake with uh-mazing strawberry sauce and sweet (not too) crème was just light and pleasing. Again I could feel/taste the Japanese influence And then! An on the house chocolate pot de crepe had me swooning! This with our Malbec wine was like heaven on earth. Finally? The bill. So freaking reasonable! We spared no expense and had a bottle of wine! Nothing but pleasure here. The bill was a pleasure to pay! And I love thoughtful decor! I am happy to report: The vibe is incredibly cool, too. Think Gothic-minimalism meets the gilded age. Such a glam space but not in the least bit intimidating. I am in LOVE! Don't miss this place. I see Michelin stars in Joe the Chef's future. I've been seeing Ginza Soot but haven't tried it. My husband wanted ramen (we usually go to Takara) and we saw Ginza had ramen on the menu so we decided to try it. We ordered takeout: -Korean wings half regular and 1/2 spicy. They were just okay. Better Korean wings are available around town so I'd skip these next time. - Beef gyoza- reminded me of the frozen ones I buy from Lotte or Trader Joe's. They were okay but I didn't get the 'made in house' vibe from these. I've had better. Wouldn't order them again. - Pork tonkatsu ramen spicy. Granted it was takeout, but the package seems like it was assembled and stored in the fridge until someone ordered. The broth had to be heated up. It wasn't great. Wouldn't order it again. - general Tao's chicken spicy. This was way too sweet and not a hint of spiciness. The broccoli was overcooked. This is on par will mall Chinese food. Actually I've had better general Tso's at the mall kiosk. I bet the drinks and teas are good. For food, this one is not for me. This goes in the once and done column for me.

You can pick from a variety of ingredients and everything looked fresh. We also had the General Tso chicken with broccoli and white rice. Let me tell you, it was VERY HOT. Not spicy hot, like blow on your food as you eat hot, so be careful. It was very flavorful though and I took some leftovers and reheated in the air fryer just fine. My husband tried a watermelon drink with a clear ball at the top that made for an interesting conversation. No, he didn't swallow it. Definitely try this place. It had many other things on the menu.
