    Shockoe Bottom Roll
    June T.

Wife and I happened to stroll in for dinner. Customer service was good. We ordered the soft shell crab pad Thai and the shockoe bottom roll. Pad Thai was pretty good, same goes with the soft shell crab. I wished the soft shell crab was stir fried in with the pad thai but it was still good. Shockoe bottom roll was pretty good as well, I destroyed majority of it. Pretty big portions for sushi pieces. Definitely looking forward to our return to get something different.

Dined in for a quick weeknight dinner and am very satisfied with the quality of the food and service. My order came out steaming hot and in a sizable portion considering the price. I came in at the tail end of happy hour so decided to indulge in a cocktail. The thai tea tini was a delicious dessert drink!

It's so hard for me to choose which location to visit but when I want sushi, I come to this one! The sushi's is freshly made and so good! It's not chewy like I've had at some places, it's almost perfect! Of course the food is amazing as usual, I got the drunken noodles with pork. And the margarita...... yessss!!!

I leave happy and with a full belly every time I come here. This place has held many great memories for me over the years and the service has mostly stayed the same - fast, friendly, and attentive. It's clean and cozy inside with plenty of space for smaller or larger groups. Definitely stop by if you can!

When walking in I was greeted by two people, the hostess and the man behind the bar. The man smiled and said hello but the hostess just started at my blankly and made me feel stupid for asking questions about the menu. Something in my gut told me to peak at the menu and leave but I unfortunately went against it. I would recommend other Thai spots before this one. I was craving some Thai but I just didn't hit the spot for me. I guess the $17 I spent on the so called "lunch special" was okay. I ordered the Red Curry, it came with a sweet and sour soup. The little cup of soup I had, had the most flavor almost too much so I added it to my flavorless curry but as you can see there's only 3 pieces of tofu in it. As for the red curry, it was in one of those small takeout containers and waaaay more rice than actual food. The food isn't bad it's just not as flavorful and makes me wish I chose a different place for lunch, especially for the price. That's the biggest factor for me. Overall it's a beautiful restaurant. I'm just not happy with my experience but good luck and happy eating!

We came to Mom's Siam 2 after shamrock, and it was so good!!! It was pretty cold by the evening, so a bowl of rice and warm curry was the perfect thing to eat. Our server suggested this curry and it was so yummy - it had potatoes, veggies, and tofu. There were so many vegetarian options so it made me very happy! The food was out pretty quickly despite how crowded it was. We had no wait either, we were seated promptly. My only complaint was the water in the bathroom was really hot so just be careful when using the bathroom sink.

I came here for lunch. The curry was amazing! Everything came out hot and fresh. I enjoyed my Thai tea as well. The salad wasn't great and I usually enjoy the salad with ginger dressings. Would definitely recommend!

My server was sooo nice and attentive. It was pretty empty when I went around 5:00pm on Saturday which was interesting because their happy hour is from 4-7 Monday-Saturday. Basil chicken was so yummy and flavorful and my Moscow mule was great.

Quick | Affordable | Portions Quick - Monica and I, met two of my high school friends for lunch on a Wednesday. We got a seat right away and received service right away. It was relatively busy but not outrageous. Affordable - The prices are all extremely affordable given its location in the city. I had the chicken teriyaki with broccoli and rice. It was $15 with tax a tip. Portions - come prepared with an appetite. I had lunch with my friends at noon and didn't need anything but a few snacks for the rest of the day. Overall, I highly recommend this location. Pro Tip 1 - There is a public parking lot half a block away. It is a very busy part of downtown, so plan for about 5-7 minutes of riding around if you want street parking. I would just bite the bullet and either uber over or use the parking lot.

Never has such a delightful eatery been so aptly named! Trouvaille is a glorious find indeed! Mind you, if you read my reviews you will see I know a bit about good cocktails and better food! So context: I was completely blown away by this little tucked away spot on Lombardy Street in Richmond's glorious Fan neighborhood. To begin: Top shelf alcohol, merged into glorious soothing cocktails expertly blended and presented as swanky as any NYC or SF bar! If you like an expertly blended Manhattan this is the place. Next time the old fashioned or anything frankly on the menu! For dinner: I had the gnocchi with fresh spring peas in a light cream sauce with the kind of tender savory chicken one dreams of. The whole thing was an imaginative yet comforting fusion of Japanese-Italian-American comfort food. Think: deconstructed chicken pot pie! Hubby had the short ribs which melted in my mouth alongside a perfectly crispy yet tender Japanese inspired (Korean?) rice cake next to perfectly unctuous kimchi!! Just amazing! I traveled the world in every bite! Umami perfection. But I skipped telling you about the appetizer of fresh spring salad with arugula, burrata, and just fresh everything. The dressing was a tiny but overpowering but totally tolerable because of the perfect tang and balance of creaminess. Do good and the serving was beyond generous! We ordered delicious Homemade... like a truly homemade fresh loaf of bread arrived with perfectly not-too-sweet strawberry (what?) butter!! And save room for dessert! The oh so thin crepe cake with uh-mazing strawberry sauce and sweet (not too) crème was just light and pleasing. Again I could feel/taste the Japanese influence And then! An on the house chocolate pot de crepe had me swooning! This with our Malbec wine was like heaven on earth. Finally? The bill. So freaking reasonable! We spared no expense and had a bottle of wine! Nothing but pleasure here. The bill did not even make me angry! And I love decorum do I am happy to report: The vibe is incredibly cool, too. Think Gothic meets minimalism meets the gilded age. Such a glam space but not in the least bit intimidating. I am in LOVE! Don't miss this place. I see Michelin stars in Joe the Chef's future. Mr. James Beard get to Trouvaille if you want to see the best of Richmond! You will not be disappointed.! We will be back for sure. Hope to see you there!

I've been seeing Ginza Soot but haven't tried it. My husband wanted ramen (we usually go to Takara) and we saw Ginza had ramen on the menu so we decided to try it. We ordered takeout: -Korean wings half regular and 1/2 spicy. They were just okay. Better Korean wings are available around town so I'd skip these next time. - Beef gyoza- reminded me of the frozen ones I buy from Lotte or Trader Joe's. They were okay but I didn't get the 'made in house' vibe from these. I've had better. Wouldn't order them again. - Pork tonkatsu ramen spicy. Granted it was takeout, but the package seems like it was assembled and stored in the fridge until someone ordered. The broth had to be heated up. It wasn't great. Wouldn't order it again. - general Tao's chicken spicy. This was way too sweet and not a hint of spiciness. The broccoli was overcooked. This is on par will mall Chinese food. Actually I've had better general Tso's at the mall kiosk. I bet the drinks and teas are good. For food, this one is not for me. This goes in the once and done column for me.

You can pick from a variety of ingredients and everything looked fresh. We also had the General Tso chicken with broccoli and white rice. Let me tell you, it was VERY HOT. Not spicy hot, like blow on your food as you eat hot, so be careful. It was very flavorful though and I took some leftovers and reheated in the air fryer just fine. My husband tried a watermelon drink with a clear ball at the top that made for an interesting conversation. No, he didn't swallow it. Definitely try this place. It had many other things on the menu.
