Went here per the request of my partner. He absolutely loves it here. I got the Udon Noodle bowl and it was super super tasty ! Granted I did burn tf outta my tongue on how hot it was - but it was so worth it. They weren't too pricey either with how much food you get and how good it is. The service is quick - they can get busy so just keep out for that. I loved the comfy vibes inside- felt like a proper ramen spot ! Had anime playing and everything. Would def recommend and go back to.

The service was good. The ramen was tasty and reasonably priced. We had the pineapple fried rice and the teriyaki chicken with our ramen. The lunch special from 11-3pm seems like the way to go. Unfortunately we missed it by 30 minutes.

The Vegetarian Ramen was absolutely delightful! I asked for it without the egg to make it vegan, and it turned out awesome. They offer mild, medium, and super spicy options. I went with medium, which had good flavor but wasn't quite spicy enough for me, so I added a little sriracha from the table. Perfect touch. The ambiance was cozy and inviting. It's a small spot, but that adds to the charm. It made for a great little Monday dinner date. Service was exceptional too; our food came out surprisingly fast after we ordered. I'll definitely be back!

Great spot for if you're craving ramen but are a broke college student. My usual go-to is the mild pork tonkatsu ramen which to some might be on the saltier end but to me really hits the spot (and satisfies my moderate sodium addiction lol). Portions are huge and it's hard to find good ramen at this price point nowadays. Interior is compact but cute and the service is always so spot-on and efficient--perfect for a quick lunch break in between classes or before a long dreaded cram sesh at Cabell. Definitely recommend for your next ramen fix!

omgg why i have avoiding this spot.. I am not one to bash just because they serve what I don't eat.. They have a lot of pork options but was able to readjust my meal with the Veggie broth.. I was missing the spice but the overall taste was very good... The shrimp tempura CRISPY and fresh.. The noodles were el dente, not too soft or crunchy!! I am very pleased to say this was a little different for me but also satisfying!!! I will be returning

Came here on a Monday night. It's a quaint little spot basically on VCU's campus. The vibes were good and the staff were friendly! We both got the vegetarian ramen... one medium and one mild. They let you choose your spice level but there is also some sauces on the table if you're feeling brave! The broth was super flavorful and the noodles were soft but not over cooked, which is crucial. This was my first time at a ramen spot so I'm no expert, but all around lovely experience and food! Would definitely eat again!

The food was great, the staff were great, and I just don't think you can ask for anything more.

First time having ramen and I'm thoroughly impressed! This place was easy to miss as it's on the concern and kinda looks like a hole in the wall. It's fairly small on the inside (roughly 8 tables and a bar in the window). I visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was fairly quiet but seemed to have good business. The servers were nice and even recommended me the Miso Ramen. I ended up trying the Spicy Miso Ramen and it actually wasn't that spicy. Both were good tho! The edamame was not as salty as I expected but not bad. I'd definitely visit again!

We come after a recommendation from a local at a bar we were at and it did not disappoint. 10/10 everything was so good. The staff was great and really helped us get our order together. I loved how tiny the shop was and it was very busy in there after having dinner I see why it's so busy. Will definitely have to come back on our next vacation.

    1. Tonkotsu Ramen Lunch Special
    Menghai T.

I got a lunch special tonkotsu ramen and it came with tako yaki. The tako yaki was really good, fried to perfection with a sweet , salty taste. The ramen wasn't the best I've had. The egg was slightly overcooked, just one slice of pork, and the noodles seemed a little off. The broth was decent, savory but not the best I've had. Staff was nice and relocated us from a high top to a table when it became available. Overall the lunch special for $13 is an amazing deal , you get some super amazing tako yaki and a decent bowl of ramen. I'd try it again during there lunch special hours. Food: 5.6 Staff/service: 7.5 Overall: 6.0/10

One of the best ramens I've ever had. It was so flavorful and the chicken was perfectly crisp. The service was amazing. They were all friendly and attentive. The place is small and cozy, nothing crazy. I will definitely be back.

Oh man, best miso ramen in RVA! I mean what more can you say. I got the pork buns, they were soggy on the bottom, and weren't the best I've ever had but again, they don't call it the Ramen spot for no reason. Another thing, there's a bubble tea place right next door. Great location!

Service was rushed but not rude. Food was alright. Nothing to ride home about. The dining area is small so it definitely depends on your luck on getting a table. The front door seems to take forever to close and cold air kept getting in.

My waitress Kat was very nice and helpful, even patient with me since it was my first time. I already had in mind what I wanted to order, but she was eager to jump in and help me with recommendations if I needed it. I started with some chicken gyoza which was really good and the tangy sauce was very flavorful. Not even 3 minutes after receiving it, I got my main entree which was the scallion chicken and fried rice which was absolutely incredible! The sauce was very sweet with a bit of spice thanks to the peppers in the veggie mix. I heard that this place is known for its ramen so I'll definitely return to try that!

I ordered the Spicy Bangkok Ramen, which was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The bok choy was a nice touch and complemented the dish perfectly. My brother ordered the spicy Soba Noodles and really enjoyed them--the noodles had a nice, chewy texture. My mother chose the Indonesian Ramen and loved the strong basil and lemongrass flavors. She added chicken to her ramen, but unfortunately, it seemed either overcooked or processed. However, the staff handled the issue well and removed it from our bill, which we truly appreciated. Overall, we had a great family dining experience and would definitely return!

We started off with some fried tofu (not pictured) and followed up with two specialty rolls. For two people, this was plenty to fill us up. The Monster roll is pretty filling with its size, tuna, and a piece of tempura. The roll on the left (forgot the name), was a nice balance to the heavier Monster roll. I thoroughly enjoyed the specialty rolls! Service was great! We were running behind our reservation time and I called to let them know. We still got our table when we arrived! Still pretty good flavor. I liked the Jeff roll with tuna, it seemed like a pretty thin topping and had a nice little kick from the jalapeño. The Yume roll had good flavor but it felt like the filling with the crunch was a lot of the filling which made it a little bland, nice crunch and simple flavors.

To me, a great presentation and a beautiful atmosphere are wonderful, but at the end of the day? Nothing can replace pure, authentic flavor. Well, Fat Dragon in Virginia absolutely blew me away. From the second we walked in, the experience was seamless. We had a party of eight with no reservation, and they sat us immediately. The ambiance was great, the portions were incredibly generous, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and completely on top of their game. Drinks arrived fast, and the entire meal flowed beautifully without a single hitch. But let's get to the real highlight of the night: the Tsingtao beer-battered mushrooms. Oh my goodness, they were out of this world! Perfectly fried and crispy on the outside, incredibly juicy on the inside, and dusted with a spicy Sichuan cloud that made them completely irresistible. They were so good that even my father--who isn't a mushroom lover at all--couldn't stop eating them! For my main course, I had the Fei Lone steak, and it was absolutely sublime. Tender, perfectly prepared, and packed with flavor. If you appreciate amazing service, a great vibe, and food that actually delivers on taste, do yourself a favor and check out Fat Dragon. I'll definitely be thinking about those mushrooms for a long time!

The entryway is interesting and provides some shelter from the rain, allowing you to manage your umbrella before entering. We were seated within seconds, and our server, Liza, came by very promptly with some water for our table. I felt slightly anxious at first, being that we were in a cozy two-top amongst the fray, but it subsided quickly because everyone was respectful and reasonably quiet. We ordered the veggie spring rolls to start, and I had the Chinatown Ramen, and my partner had the Chicken Fried Noodles. The appetizer was hot, savory, and spicy with the duck sauce and hot mustard mixture. If you like milder sauce, do not mix it. The entrees came out within five or so minutes of the appetizers, which seemed quick for a busy night. The ramen was spicy, hot, and filling. I was only able to finish about half. We will be enjoying those leftovers tonight. My partner said that her noodles and chicken were well-seasoned and delicious, too. Looking around the restaurant, it is clear that they support the local LGBTQ+ community, and it is even labeled as a Safe Space on the beautifully manicured, makeshift chalkboard/menu/posting board. The clientele and staff alike seemed warm and kind, based solely on limited interactions and observation on my part. If you are looking for a traditional American-Chinese food restaurant (think buffet-style items), this is likely not the place for you. There were no mishaps or snafus with our orders. Liza performed her duties well, and I can surely recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn't mind a mix of Japanese and Chinese cuisine.
