Really enjoyed the burgers here. I had the Burgdog and tried a little of the double diablo. Both really good burgers. Really good taste. They don't bother with lettuce, tomatoes or pickles, so if you want any of that you have to ask for it. Both hamburgers I had came with grill jalapeños which added a good zing but not too much. Next time I will ask to add tomatoes and lettuce to add that extra texture. Their fries are fresh, good Idaho russets. Skin still on and offer enough sauces to keel you pleased. What do you write about a wholly unremarkable burger place? This apparently. Came here for a dinner with my wife after work. Neither of us were feeling particularly adventurous apparently because we both ordered the basic Mooyah cheeseburger with a side of fries to share. And...and the burger was okay. It was a little sweet, which is a weird comment for me to be making about a basic cheeseburger. Something about the combination of the brioche bun and the special sauce they put on it all came out weirdly sweet. I have nothing else interesting to say about the food here. It was mediocre at best and definitely not a contender for the best burger in SoCal. I came here on the recommendation of my buddy Jerry from Irvine High. He recommended the double diablo burger so I had it and it was ok. So when my co-workers wanted to go back I wasn't too excited. That time I had the MOOYAH burger and man was that a juicy burger and since then I have been going back and trying different burgers like the Sloppy Whoa and the Hamburdog all delicious and juicy. And if you're vegan, MAYBE DONT GO TO A BURGER PLACE? now that I've ended my rant, I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries. The fries were like a larger scale version of in n out, and they were really good. The burger was really juicy and it was also good. Fries remind me of Five Guys with the skin on, but less greasy. They give generous portions too. All their burgers are super yum! The Mooyah patty is seasoned and cooked to perfection with a good quality of meat. Bun is lightly toasted, fresh, and baked in-house. All of the ingredients are fresh. Mooyah is in a very busy plaza, but parking is not too bad since the lot is huge. Upon walking in, I found the menu easy to figure out. Build your own or pick from the list. This is a burger & shake joint, but there is a kids menu with burger, hot dog, and grilled cheese as options. They can turn your burger into a meal (fries + drink or shake) for an additional price. Order, get the receipt, and find a seat. When our order was ready, they called our name, and brought the food out to our table. It was 7:30pm on a Thursday and all the tables were taken. We waited a couple of minutes after we ordered and a table opened up. We ordered the mushroom swiss burger (as is on the menu), the mushroom swiss burger with avocado ($1 extra), a Reeses PB Cup shake, and a kids meal with a hot dog, fries, and upgraded chocolate shake. They were out of hot dog buns, so they offered to put the hot dog cut up on a burger bun and we agreed. The food was so fresh! The hot dog on a burger bun did not look appealing, but it was literally just taken off the grill, hot and fresh, and gobbled up with no complaints. The burgers were also fresh and not too gourmet or overwhelming. I was able to finish a burger in one sitting, which is rare unless it's a fast food burger. The fries were okay, it didn't taste as fresh as the hot dot & burger. It looked cooked, but tasted hard and bland. The shakes were tasty! I recommend the Reeses PB Cup shake. The produce is ridiculously fresh and you build your own, so you can get it exactly how you like it. They're great, enjoy! FRIES (Rating 2) I was disappointed with the greasy, soggy fries. While they may be great fresh out of the fryer (I wouldn't know), these fries should have been dumped and NEVER plated. Don't believe me, check out my ig @baconforyoureyes now that my shameless plug is out of the way, I'm also on a 3 month gym and diet roll and I still managed to visit Mooyah 3x in 10 days. I'm sure I royally screwed my diet but it is THAT good. I feel the closest comparison is Shake Shack, they both use potato rolls btw. I'm not big on overly complicated burgers so I've been sticking to their regular cheeseburger or what they call the Mooyah burger. One time I doubled up but that's pretty much the extent of my customization. I'm not thrilled about living in Irvine (because of my commute) but having a Mooyah close by is making up for it. This place is relatively new and on a recent visit back in 2019 I sat down after ordering a burger (really one of the better burgers I have had recently) order od fries (promoted by the staff as unbelievable and really good fresh cut fries(this is true that they fresh cut them right in front of you and then fry them up) however they are not the best the NcDonalds directly across the parking lot (actually usually has better fries than MOOYAH) Shakes are not well done here I wanted to like this place so much and other than the staff HUGE KUDOS staff alone gets 5 stars) and the burger is the real star here. Visited this spot around the summer twice last year. Wanted to see what all the hype was about since my dad mentioned this burger joint so many times. He lives in Dallas so I had no idea they even had locations out in SoCal. The burgers are loaded with flavor, the fries are good, and the refreshments don't disappoint. I grab iced tea so at least they have that since I'm not really a soda drinker. In my opinion these burgers beat Five Guys and In N' Out. My husband and I convinced my parents to leave their normal rotation of restaurants and we tried MOOYAH. The rotation has expanded! My dad liked his hot dog while the rest of us enjoyed hamburgers. We also added a milkshake because it's in the name so why not! The milkshake is more the type that you would eat with a spoon than drink with a straw. SOLID! I've been here 3x within the month of October (it's that good LOL) and every time we've eaten here the food has been on point and just as good as the other times! You have the option of picking their signature burgers or making your own (tons of options to choose from!) We've had a classic burger, a lettuce wrapped burger, a spicy burger and a kids meal! Not to mention a bucket full of fries! The fries are addicting and you can eat them for days their just that good! Before Mooyah, I've been a die hard Habit fan but now the game has changed! First off, the quality of the meat is definitely a step up from the Habit! The Habit churns food out very fast and efficient but with Mooyah, your food takes a bit of time and you can taste the quality right off the first bite of your food! The buns are fresh (potato and wheat) the potatoes are extremely well seasoned (both regular and sweet potato) Customer service is always great, I've never had a bad encounter, when they are bagging your food and you ask for extra sauce they really go out of their way and you give you extras! I wish this place was open a bit later so I usually go on the weekends since they are open an extra hour for late people like myself! This isn't your typical burger joint, your paying for freshness and quality food not just another burger and fries!
