It seems like there is a new hamburger joint popping up every month. I'm not sad about it though since I absolutely love burgers anyways. Apparently Mooyah is from Texas and in my opinion it can be categorized as casual rather than fast food. I wouldn't go so high as calling it a gourmet burger joint though. Mooyah offers two different choices. You can order one of their burgers or opt to build your own burger. Take advantage and make your own burger! It's fun and honestly you can't mess up if you build your own burger and it's really easy: 1. Choose your burger - beef patty, double beef, turkey, veggie, beef hot dog 2. Pick your bun - white, wheat, or lettuce 3. Select your add-ons - cheese, avocado, veggies, sauces I'm old fashioned when it comes to burger. I like a classic cheeseburger and that's what I made! It honestly wasn't bad but they went a little too heavy on the sauces. I did however find the beff patty to be fresh and well seasoned. I was also pretty obsessed with their buns. Perfectly soft, and super tasty. We also got some fries also and they weren't anything to write home about. Typical but hits the spot all the same. The prices are a little on the high side. I wouldn't necessarily come back unless I had a coupon of some sort because you COULD actually get a gourmet burger for just a few bucks more if you wanted to. So keep that in mind. Reminds me of five guys minus the peanuts. They have the same concept and similarly quality and pricing. When we got there, the place was so slow, maybe 2 other customers, I was a little nervous at that point. Placed our order and food came quickly. The food was really good for fast food type. Not a gourmet burger but a good messy burger. The fries were good. Wish they had Cajon seasoning or something else for the fries. the shakes were good as well. With so many burger joints coming to rise of fame or join the ghosts of the past, these days variety is what our palettes want. My wife and I have our favorite burger joints. Of course, we are always open to new ones even when they threaten to be better than what already enjoy. When you have a name that doesn't quite flow right out of your mouth, you have to dare yourself to try. My wife and I take a little visit to MOOYAH Burgers, Fries, & Shakes in Irvine. Located at a shopping plaza on the northwest corner of Alton Parkway and Jeffrey Road, in the middle of the block of stores, you will find, MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes. I had my eyes set on this place before, but I did not know why it took me so long to try this place out. This MOOYAH location was the only one in Orange County unless you wanted to drive out further east to the next location. We arrived just at 11am on a Sunday, but from the outside, we were a little nervous that they closed. The tinted windows definitely blocked out the views of the inside. We walked in and were greeted by the staff. My wife and I were definitely newbies here as we weren't sure what other menu items were offered. My wife did like the offerings that they had. She loves her Turkey Burgers and I LOVE anyone that prepares Veggie Burgers. Although, most of the burgers are NOT handmade, MOOYAH is honest about where their meats come from. My wife ordered her Turkey Burger ($6.29) with her choice of cheese ($1.00 additional) on a Potato Bun with a fountain drink beverage ($1.99). The Turkey Burgers are made from Jennie-O. I ordered a Black Bean Veggie Burger ($6.29) with Pepperjack Cheese ($1 extra) with onions, lettuce, and light mayo on a Multigrain Bun with a drink ($1.99). My wife and I shared a Shareable Plate of fries ($3.89). My Black Bean Veggie Burger is made from Morningstar Farms. While I am not used to the source of the meat, this tells me the honesty of MOOYAH. Plus, MOOYAH makes their own buns in-house. Honesty and Homemade food is the key for return customers. The wait for our food was about 10 minutes. The fountain drinks are located in the back. The dining area could seat about 30-40 people inside, but there are a few table outside as well. There are a few TVs inside to catch a game or movie. My wife and I felt that the restaurant was dead, but we were surprised about the turnout within minutes after noticing. Even when our food was arriving, there was a long line to the door. MOOYAH has a positive vibe here and everyone of them got relaxed. Even the kids were happy with their Kid's Meal Hot Dogs. Hey....I wouldn't mind ordering some off of the Kid's Menu. The menu offerings is very appealing. While I may have gone off the path of the salad, the Loaded House Salad does compete with the burgers. Just add your protein! Our first plate to our table (EYES BLOWN OUT). Well, it's not even a plate. It's an oven tray full of fries. WTH?! That is cool and funny at the same time. When you order a shareable order of fries, you have one heck of a tray. I wonder what the family size might look like?! I thought it was just for the fries. Next thing you know, the burgers come out with the oven tray. Now, I feel like I am eating in some sort of Food Competition. I felt like I had to grab fries and throw them on my tray and devour it. This place is excellent. The burgers were well cooked and perfectly designed as if it were some high end restaurant. You can see the cheese melting on the sides of the burger. I was already drooling and I didn't have much time before the cheese would cool down. The Veggie Burger tasted very good with the many various vegetables and the heat of the Pepperjack Cheese flavor cooking through my mouth. The Potatoes are cut right there at MOOYAH. Oh yeah, they have POTATOES next to the cash registers. That's how authentic they are. The other places hide their potatoes and cut it in front of you. The potatoes were crisp and so delicious. They were not oily at all. Mmmm...DELICIOUS!! MOOYAH definitely earned my MOOLAH!! While this was on my list to try, it is on my certified list to come back. As I mentioned, we were a little nervous about this place at first, but as lunch came around, people walked and were pointing at the menu. They wanted this and that. The kids like their food even more while they enjoyed a conversation with their parents. While at other places, when they enjoy a kid's menu, they run off to go play on the playground. 09/17/2022 around 6:15PM they put bacon in a vegetarian burger (Avocado Ranch Black Bean Burger). I'm general, my experiences at Mooyah Burger are mostly positive. Burgers are tasty, the potato buns are fantastic, the fries are middling. This place gets busy and the wait can be a little long and the tables uncleaned. The biggest concern is needing to deconstruct the vegetarian burgers to ensure they didn't put bacon in them going forward. read more

Oh Mooyah, how I wish I loovyah, but it just wasn't meant to be! The store setup reminds me of Smashburger. My patty was dry and flavorless and the bun was a bit stale. I saw the cook just press on the patties and my heart was breaking for all the yummy juices lost. The saving grace was the topping selection and the "small" order of fries that came with the order was large enough to feed a small village. Kudos for not being stingy. But alas, the burger fell short and I kept on wishing I had gone to In N Out instead. The milkshake was too sweet for my taste also. A couple of sips and I was done with it. read more

I got the regular cheeseburger with grilled onions. Great burger at a reasonable price relative to the other fast casual burger joints nearby. Bun was soft, patty was juicy enough, I didn't have to slather extra ketchup on, well constructed and wasn't sliding or falling apart on me. These are the key things I look for in a good burger! I'm definitely coming back. Fries were of the fresh potato variety instead of McDonalds type with some processed starchy coating which I love so only 3.5 stars for their fries. read more

Amazing burgers. We ordered the MDC, Bacon Cheeseburger and the Double Diablo and we all loved them. Seems like they use high quality ingredients, they cook them perfectly and the toppings are the perfect ratio. The fries were pretty great too. Staff was friendly and helpful and theres a decent amount of outdoor seating in the patio area. They're better than The Habit, Five Guys, In N Out... they rival one of my favorites, Burger Parlor. There were definitely some opening week jitters that were visible, but, all in all, I really enjoyed this fast/casual dining concept. The location is not huge and seating can be pretty limited during the rush. I would say they could probably seat no more than 25 (not including outdoor seating). Mooyah's dining concept is order at the counter and pick up at the kitchen; however, they do have food runners that try to bring food to you if possible. The menu is fairly simple, but is really satisfying. On this particular visit, I had a mooyah burger with cheese/fries/drink and my hubby hand a double burger with bacon/fries/drink. Luckily (or unluckily for my girly figure... LOL) I got a double burger with cheese... YUM. The burger is definitely REALLY juicy and not in a greasy way either. I also can appreciate that the fries were crispy and not soggy! My husband was also happy that Mooyah did not skimp on the bacon. There was definitely a bite of bacon for every bite of his burger! The only sore spot about Mooyah is that I had two cups that leaked! Not fun when you're trying to eat and wipe up your table at the same time... Also, the lemonade looks like it's supposed to be fresh, but it wasn't anything special... Tasted artificially sweetened. The burgers there are on point. You can add any topping and make it any way you want. But if you order the chili cheese fries that's the only thing you are gonna remember at this place. They are so good and they are not that expensive and it can feed 4 people. The burgers are delicious and cooked right but the CCF are the things your gonna go back for. read more

My friend tried the Cheddar Bacon Burger and said it was good! The bacon was crispy and the meat was pretty average. I tried the veggie patty and that is the reason that it lost a star. The patty fell apart before I even lifted it to my mouth. Also, if you ask for sauce ask for a little extra because I couldn't even taste it on my burger, but I don't mind overall it was still good! The fries on the other hand were delicious! Especially with their BBQ sauce and ranch dressing! I would definitely come again to order more fries and maybe try a shake! read more

Mooyah is seemingly just another premium burger restaurant. I usually think gourmet burger places are overpriced and overrated. But unlike most high end burger places, the burgers are always delicious. The fries are always salted to perfection. And the service is friendly and helpful. It's hard to find a lot to say about burger places. Things to know about Mooyah: burgers cooked on a flat top (try the mushroom and swiss) and fresh fries (HUGE portions). Fresh French Fries from real potatoes. The staff is so nice and accommodating. Asking if we're okay, can they get us anything, just like a full service restaurant. Burgers were delicious, but my fiance and I unfortunately became very sick from this place. We had come here on a Tuesday night. I got the turkey burger and my fiance got a beef burger. Wednesday afternoon we both started getting chills, and on wednesday night we developed a fever,nausea, and very intense stomach pain (among other uncomfortable and painful issues). After seeing the doctor and getting various tests done, the results showed that I had become infected with campylobacter coli, a bacteria that typically comes from undercooked poultry or raw poultry drippings that touch cooked food. I am not sure of the sanitization procedures at this place, but seeing as both me and my fiance became deathly sick and hadn't eaten any other meat that week except for the burgers at Mooyah, it seems we picked this stomach bug up from there. It's been 5 days of this intense stomach pain and other discomforts, and we are now on antibiotics. read more

We were a group of 4 & each ordered a different kind of hamburger and shared a tray of fries. Three of us really enjoyed our burgers; and the fries were super hot (temperature) but needed salt. Lots of it! But not a big deal. One note is that the burgers have BBQ sauce on them. Personally, I really liked that surprise...but one person in our group (the fussy one) said that it ruined his. I would recommend MOOYAH Burgers. The burgers are delicious. But it can get super crowded, so I recommend a divide an conquer approach: one person go order and one go find a seat. The chicken tenders are amazing and so are the burgers! My friends and I have come here for a little while now and the food is always really good and made quickly.
