We've been here quite a few times over the years! They had an unfortunate close for alittle bit! But, now have been open in new location for awhile I believe. It's still in downtown Boise but in a big business type building super awesome , easy to get too and it's much bigger to serve more people! Moons Kitchen is kind of in an odd location - upstairs above some other businesses. California Benni was fresh and perfectly balanced ( avocado was perfectly ripe) the Monte Cristo was warm and done just right (my husbands fave) and the kids' pancakes were a hit. I also loved the iced pistachio latte, which was unique without being too sweet. The only downside was having to pay for parking, which was a bit of a bummer. Nevertheless, they sat us in a cozy corner of the restaurant with a decent view of the city streets. It's a modern upgrade from the old spot but the decor seems the same! Wow what a busy breakfast place! The wait was over 30 minutes at 9 AM so we got coffee and beignets to go $25 later the beignets lackluster with no powdered sugar or anything sweet on top! These are not your New Orleans café Dumonde beignets. but if you're missing New Orleans buy them put them in your air fryer for a couple of minutes and put some powdered sugar and they'll work for a pinch! read more

For two people, we ended up paying $60+ which is too much for diner breakfast. I would rather pay $40 for a portion size that's enough for us to finish. The quality was okay. Our hash browns were burnt outside and a bit too raw inside. The chorizo egg omelette did not have the Mexican chorizo. It was flavorless sausage. The service was good. I wish the tables did not wobble. But the ambiance was okay. Just noisy and crowded. My main issue was the price and the quality. Too much food and too expensive for breakfast. Started with beignets which were amazing. Warm soft fluffy with excellent compote dipping sauce. Tried the Moonbabies, more crepe than pancake but very tasty, and the Bennies were great. Probably the best I've ever had. Hubby got the chicken fried steak which was yummy too. I gave them 4 stars because of the service. It was our server's 2nd day and she added "strawberry" to my pancake order without asking me if I wanted it (and there was an up charge for it) and didn't give my hubby a choice of bread (and chose for him) with his chicken fried steak. She also didn't check on us and hubby had to get up to ask someone else for more syrup. Despite these service things I highly recommend them for their food.
