If I could leave zero stars I would. The food is good however the behavior of the staff is unacceptable. I ordered over the phone and came in to pick up the order. I paid for it and received a receipt. While I waited I stepped outside for business. When I returned to the inside my order was boxed,bagged, ready. I was asked by a girl emptying the trash if she could help me. I asked if the bag was for me and gave her my name. She said yes but there was a note stating that payment was required. I told her that I had already paid and I have a receipt. She snarled "We gon' check!". I said "Well while you're checking I have my receipt and I handed it to her. She told me that it was protocol. I handed her my receipt! The only reason she did that was because I am black. I have been there several times before and have witnessed them hand over orders to white customers without any issues. This was unacceptable to the fullest. To add insult to injury the salmon was burned to a black crisp!!!!! I had to throw it away! I recommend this place daily and I am truly disappointed. This was the worst meal I've ever purchased from Moondance Grill! I couldn't eat it!!!!! read more

Allison is THAT GWORRRLLLLLL! I meaaaaannnnnn the best waitress yet! She was very attentive and detail oriented! She smiled and chatted with us throughout our dining experience without being toooo pushy! We slow grazed our meals so that we could properly enjoy and digest it and she was super cool with that! Our drinks were bomb... I chose a glass of Ruffino Prosecco and my beau enjoyed a glass of Buffalo Trace on the rocks & the paper plane to finish! Side note: why isss restaurant water SO DAMN GOOD?! We each had a salad (Caesar and house) the prime rib rolls, and a cup of shecrab soup to start, all really good! I will say the prime rib rolls were slightly different than that of the image online! For entrees we had the 16oz ribeye and Brussels and the maple bourbon glazed salmon with garlic mash and green beans! We took a complimentary turtle cheesecake home to enjoy! I waited a while to visit Moondance grill. Everyone in our group had steaks, which were fine. They were cooked pretty well, maybe a degree or two over what we asked for, but they were fine, and seasoned enough. We were seated in a room to the side where everything looks to be wood. I don't know, I just didn't get an inviting or charming vibe from this restaurant. I think Germantown loves "fancy" and they are probably trying to be a bit dressier and pricier than the neighborhood they're in. It was too expensive for me not to get a "YES!" vibe, so I probably will not return. read more

Ambiance was spot on. We gathered for a team dinner and enjoyed several delicious items. Be advised of the dress code, though. It is displayed outside the restaurant. I ordered the Lemon Caper Chicken Linguine, and it was very flavorful. I also ordered a side of the green beans, and candied Brussels sprouts. The Brussels weren't my favorite, but the green beans were very well seasoned. The highlight would have to be the spinach dip and the lemon drop martini with Woodford. My mom and I visited on a Friday for lunch after hearing so many people talk about how great the food was. We were seated quickly, not many patrons in the restaurant, and given the dinner menu. I asked for the lunch menu, since that is the menu we viewed and decided on, I asked if it was too late to order lunch and was told it was fine to order from the lunch menu. The waitress brought back the lunch menu (shift change so we had a change from our waitress to a waiter), my mom ordered the cheeseburger with steak fries and I ordered the seafood poboy with shoestring fries. Mom was not impressed with the burger and said it was "just ok" and was presented warm. The seafood poboy was inedible, the 1or 2 pieces of shrimp were very tough and cold, the oyster(yes 1)was also cold and tough as well. The fries were good tho! I asked to send the plate back and to order a cheeseburger instead. My burger came out piping hot, my mom even noticed the steam coming from it, unlike hers. She was facing the kitchen and noticed the staff in the kitchen had changed and my burger was fixed by someone else. The burger was satisfying and cooked medium well, even though I asked for it to be cooked medium. I did not send it back and was satisfied with the replacement. We also ordered the She Crab soup and both agreed, this was the best part of the meal. I cant say that I would go out of my way to visit again, but if I am nearby I many stop for the She Crab soup. The bathrooms were clean, our waiter was nice and accommodating, management did not come around after I asked for a replacement, that was fine. I just don't get it. Let's back up... I first experienced moondance 3 years ago. Why haven't I been back in so long? Well I bit into my burger only to find a STRAW WRAPPER inside my burger. Yes a plastic straw wrapper. I of course let my server know, and they didn't even comp my burger. I thought that was poor (plus the second burger was mediocre) so I didn't let anyone drag me back. Until last night. So plenty of jokes were made on the way. How moondance was out to get me, lol. I pull up to find no parking available, and the chauffeur service had not started yet. So I make a circle, and find a spot across the street from the restaurant. I pull into the spot and as I step out, see a young man stroll behind me and place a cone directly behind my car. He says, " I use the "lane" for valet. Now keep in mind we parked BETWEEN two parked cars. So there was no lane. It was just a spot he wanted that was close instead of having to do his job. So I ask, " what lane? What about the cars on either side?" To which he replies " well I can't do anything about people who are already parked." I take a quick glance at my car doors all closed. Hmm He tells us "well I can valet you if you want" ie: I pay for parking? It's not worth the fight so we (after moving his cone) drive around to the parking garage. I am alredy angry as I walk in with my wife in her third trimester. So whatever kids are dumb and it won't ruin my night. Somehow after all this we still make it at exactly 6:15 for our reservation. We waited for 27 mins which is a long time to stand (they have one bench for *atheistics" After finally being seated, it's your run of the mill experience. I crack a joke about the straw wrapper to my server like "hardy har har but also giving a chance to redemption" So I order a burger and fries... full send. We waited a normal amount of time for food. All is well. My wife gets her salad and I have my burger and fries but brought by what I can only describe as a Ninja (not our server) whom dropped the food before I could blink. But man I would really love some ketchup with this burger and fries. No I'm not the kind of guy to whistle down a waiter, so I wait for that typical interaction by the server "hey how is everything?" That always happens a few mins in. Well after 23 whole mins, I finally walked to the servers station and asked another server for some pepper and ketchup. Basics. So our server finally shows up after 35 mins and says "no straw wrapper huh?" No just an overcooked burger in a sub par establishment. Finally got a chance to check this place out. WOW! This restaurant is located in a shopping center that really seems out of place in Memphis. No shade at all to Memphis, it's my hometown and I love it. So I'm happy to see this area of Germantown, it's a welcomed change! They offer valet parking in this shopping center, however, I decided to park in the open air lot. I believe it was 2 hours free or something like that. Since I had reservations, I was seated immediately. The place is gorgeous. I loved the oak wood and leather décor with low lighting in the evening. It's a perfect place for a date or just a hang out night with friends (which is what I was there for). I ended up ordering their winter cocktail, Partridge in a Pear Tree, and asked for it to be placed in a martini glass instead of the short glass. It was Absolut pear vodka, sparking wine, and lemon juice with a sprig of rosemary on top. Doesn't that sound like a martini? Anyway it was very tasty but slightly sour due to the lemon juice. It inspired me to order a lemon drop martini, which was mixed to perfection! For dinner, I had the maple bourbon glazed salmon with sautéed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. I also added a house salad for a starter. The house salad was soooo good. They use a tomato dressing on it which kind of reminded me of the ginger dressing that comes on the salads at hibachi restaurants. The salmon was moist with a slight crispness to it, lovely. The potatoes were creamy and thick, whipped very nicely. The sauteed spinach was tasty as well. My friends all ordered the creamed spinach and two of them complained about a lack of flavor. We didn't save room for dessert, but I'm sure it's just as good. Now this meal was pricey with the tip, I paid around $80. BUT, it was worth it because the service was excellent (I think our server was Ceara, sorry if I misspelled this but she was fantastic and so friendly), the restaurant was clean, restrooms clean, ample parking, and a very nice bar that had TVs for your viewing pleasure. It seems like everyone in the restaurant came and took stuff off our table. I saw a table that was finishes & no one took anything off there table. But you not getting things i need or ask for. But you want to take a plate , etc. off the table every time you walk by. Drinks were delish but the bar staff were not engaging, no introductions, no smiles, etc. Very disinterested in their guests at the bar. I am so glad I stumbled this place! Apparently, I also just got really lucky on my timing around 6 and was able to find a spot within a few minutes at the bar. The restaurant eventually was full, both the bar and the main seating, on a Monday. Food is really good! I tried the pan seared sea bass which was perfectly seared. The sauce on the plate complimented the spinach really well. I also ordered a side of veggies which weren't too oily as some places can be. The white chocolate creme brûlée is awesome. It's unique ( to me to find white chocolate) and was worth going away from my norm. Service - couldn't ask for better! Definite go here if you can. Make a reservation, it'll make your life easier. Would have been five stars, but everything was very, very slow. When you arrive, know that the restaurant is inside a residential/retail complex. You can drive up the hill and park where there is a retail area or park in the garage. Keep in mind, they have valet (they did the night I went, at least). The staff is very professional and pleasant. The tuna appetizer is so good, I heard the onomatopoeia "mmm" a lot! The she crab soup is watery and not as good as the Itta Bena restaurant downtown, but it's not bad. The salad wedge with blue cheese dressing delicious. You can really taste the maple in the Maple Bourbon Glazed Salmon. I feel like the ingredients they use are really clean. It digested so well. The restaurant is known for its smoked bourbon. They have a glass box where they put your bourbon drink and smoke. They carry it to your table and when you open the box, the smoke floats through the restaurant. It's a theatrical and cool sight to see. I do not recommend the Mutiny. It tastes like chemicals. My only challenge was it took roughly 20 minutes per course, so we got dessert to-go. I must say that the key lime pie was SOOOO GOOOD, I forgot to take a photo. We are going back for sure! read more

This was my 2nd time visiting Moondance and I'm sooooooooo happy I didn't count this place out. In my opinion, I thought my experience for lunch the 1st time was fair. This time around I had a full dining experience. From the moment I walked in customer service was great! My party and I were immediately seated. Our waitress was superb. She was knowledgeable of the menu, honest, attentive, and swift with tending to our table. My table ordered appetizers, specialty drinks, and entrees. Everything was spectacular. I've been here several times and always had a good experience at the bar, but we made spur of the moment plans to go here for an anniversary dinner and were blown away. We were seated in Maddie's section and she made sure that we had the best evening. The waiter Mary apology for the plain under cooked oysters and brought dessert of choice on the house. Dinner arrived hot, plated per the pictures excellent but lacked seasoning. When patronizing a trendy restaurant it sorta disrespectful to "NEED"salt or pepper. You always hope the chef utilizes fresh herbs with simple sea salt and cracked pepper plus squeeze a lemon....you're all set to intensify your palate with a burse of flavors. Not the case here but not horrible just mediocre. The carrot cake arrived very plain, dry and tasted sorta old....like freezer burn. Came here to celebrate my birthday with a friend and we had a decent time. We were able to RSVP a table and was seated promptly when we arrived. The customer service was slightly lacking as we had to track down people to take our order, bring knives, etc. I ordered the Old Dominick Frozé Rosé and while it was flavorful I could barely taste the alcohol. For my second drink, I ordered off the menu and got a Cosmopolitan. For my food, I ordered the Lamb Lollipops (they come medium) with a side of Green Beans and Sautéed Mushrooms. Overall, the meal was good but it seem as if the Lamb was cooked Medium Rare as it was a little chewy to be Medium. We celebrated at the end with a Chocolate Cake! The amount of time we spent waiting for our food was nothing short of ridiculous. Also several items I tried to order from the menu were out of stock. We went to Moondance for the first time on Sunday 10/19/25 after being told from others we needed to try it. The place is nice inside and the hostess was very polite. Jalyn was our waitress and was there right after we were seated to get our drink orders. She was very informative about any questions we had about the menu. She made sure to keep checking in on us and did very well the entire time! We started with the charcuterie board and it was good. My wife had the shrimp and grits and enjoyed them, I had to tried them and also really enjoyed them. I had the 8oz filet (medium) and it was cooked perfect and had great flavor/seasoning. My steak was probably the best steak I have ever had! Yes... that's a bold statement but probably true! I also added the pan seared shrimp which was also very good. My wife had the bread pudding for dessert and really liked it. So "good job" to the kitchen staff as well. All the portion sizes were just right, not too much or too little. I experienced Moondance Grill in Germantown and I enjoyed it! My food and cocktails were pretty good and I felt like I got what I paid for. Those who dine with me know I feel about customer service and the staff/management at Moondance did not disappoint me. We had a really great time and being right next to the band gave sealed in the good vibes. When I go back, because I will be back, I want to try the lamb or the shrimp and mushroom pasta because both of those came highly recommended. Thanks for a great time!
