Birria Quesadilla
Sonya C.

I heard and read a lot of good things about this place so I finally had time to stop in and see what all of the fuss was about. The restaurant is cute and it has a really good vibe especially for cocktails with friends or after work. I just walked in with no reservation and was helped and seated by friendly staff. I ordered the Birria Quesadillas and it was Delicious, moist and juicy. I will definitely go back and try other items from the menu. Maybe next time I'll try a cocktail.

We went here as a group. Local Lime is here in Germantown, located amongst the shops at Saddle Creek. The restaurant's name is written on the building and the interior is clean, bright and inviting. Our server was friendly and helpful with the menu. They have something to fit every palate and dietary need. For appetizers, we had the salsa flight appetizer, where you choose three to try along with the skillet queso. There's one salsa made with zucchini, and it was light and interesting. For entrees, there was the shrimp and brie quesadilla, fajitas, fish tacos, and curry shrimp tacos with cilantro rice and black beans. Everything was fresh and tasty. We had a really good time, and if you're in the area, you should give this place a try.

We had such a great experience thanks to our waitress, Britany. She was so personable and attentive from the moment we sat down. She made us feel genuinely welcome and checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. I really appreciated the suggestions she gave, they were spot on and made our meal even better. We were visiting from out of town and she made the choice of this restaurant perfect! The food is amazing and the environment is so friendly! Everyone was so welcoming.

Waiting for Take out

I'd heard about this restaurant since moving to the area, but difficulty with parking in this plaza kept me from trying it. After our lunch today, I wish I would've been more patient in the past. The atmosphere on a Monday afternoon was noisy, but pleasantly busy. Good sign. We ordered takeout yet only waited about 10 minutes max. They have designations on their menu for food allergy and sensitivity patrons, with a larger selection than most Mexican restaurants. The food was very good, fresh, not greasy or heavy. There were no chips given, or any extras like sour cream, salsa or guacamole unless you pay for it, but the entrees were very good and unique when compared to other locations.

Great atmosphere, fresh and authentic food, and stellar service! The shrimp tacos, beans, and rice were my favorites. The richness of flavor in each dish was eccentric. My sister ordered a bowl and she enjoyed it. I loved the vibrant colors of each dish and the plating options. Each meal was under $25. Some entrees came with the options of two sides. It's been a while since I visited Local Lime, and I have to say, I love this spot! I chose to sit at the bar, and as usual, I immediately knew I would order the Fresco bowl with ribeye and the street corn--my absolute favorite. In fact, as I write this review, I'm craving it all over again! I also had a piña colada, which is strong but delicious. I tend to drink it quickly before it melts, as it changes flavor a bit when it does, but it's still my go-to every time I visit. I can't remember the bartender's name, but he was fantastic--very attentive and made my experience even better. I always enjoy myself at Local Lime, and if you haven't been yet, you definitely should!

Salsa Flight and Queso with chips

Went to lunch Tuesday at Local Lime with friends. We arrived at 11 and we're seated very quickly. The service was pretty good. We had one waitress and then changed up a few minutes after and had another waitress. She was excellent and attentive. She checked on us from time to time and very nice. i think her name was Laketha. The decor of the restaurant has some southwest hints with bright colors. It is modern looking and reminds me of an upscale cantina. We started off with the Salsa Flight. That is always tasty and has a variety of flavors. The queso was creamy and hot. It was a good consistency for dipping and not breaking the chips. My tuna tacos were very good with a lot of vegetables and blue corn taco shells. My sides of cilantro lime rice and drunken pinto beans added greatly to my dish. Good food and friends made for a great lunch. We will return in the future.

Local Lime is the perfect refuge for Mexican fare located in the middle of an upscale shopping plaza with Madewell, Anthropologie, Victora Secret, and Free People. This block is a heaven for a shopping and lunch date with your girls. Local Lime is absolutely gorgeous, busy ambiance and delicious latin food to boot! The best thing is you are not locked into buying their set tacos, but order them a la carte! I personally love their Crispy Ahi Tuna, Chargrilled Ribeye, Pacifico Fried Fish, and Local Carnitas tacos. The Crispy Ahi Tuna is the only taco that comes in a crunch purple corn tortilla shell while the others are a soft flour tortilla. Both Crispy Ahi Tuna and Local Carnitas are bursting with sauce and juicy flavor. Recommend you try the both! The "Pacifico" fried fish is less flavorful and my least favorite of the four.

We went here on a Saturday for lunch and it was packed, but we got seated immediately. We had a really sweet waitress that asked a lot of questions to make sure our food would come out as we liked it. Everything was so fresh and amazing and had cute decor. Very chill vibe and loved the vegetarian options.

Local Fresco Bowl (chicken)

A must-visit when in Germantown! The inside of this restaurant was absolutely adorable! It had modern costal vibes and felt very cozy. We started our dinner with a salsa flight ($6 for 3 salsas). My favorite was the zucchini-based salsa. It was very different but incredibly flavorful. The chips were really good too- you can tell they are made in-house. I ordered the Local Fresco Bowl and added chicken. I asked for a side of the crema dressing which only made the bowl all the more tasty! My boyfriend ordered the carnitas tacos which comes with your choice of two sides. The tacos were definitely the best bang for your buck, but the bowl was my favorite of the two dishes. I'd love to return and try more from the menu!

I had a perfect dirty martini and my husband had an excellent old fashioned ( chose not to do the smoked version. ) We were seated at the time of our reservation with courteous and prompt attention from our waiter. He informed us of all the specials and gave us the right amount of time to relax before ordering. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. I like the atmosphere, not too large of a dining area, I like the separate room of tables, with a fireplace, along with the area of booths for a more intimate setting. The bar itself is large and has seating on the outskirts of it as well.

I do believe C and I have only been here once as a couple. It did not go well at all, so we have not been back together, as she is holding a bit of a grudge. It's a long story but it all ties back to service. That night we had the worst table in the building and service was spotty at best. Food was still pretty good, just whole ass annoyed by the entirety of the rest of the experience. I am lucky enough to be able to be taken to/host dinner with clients and manufacturers a good bit. They like places like this so I get by ever so often. Gotta love expensed meals!!! Tehehe I like the open kitchen concept they have and the bar is really cool. The metal shelves at the bar that store the booze are bad ass. It's warm and cozy and has a great vibe overall. The last time we sat on the enclosed patio. I had not sat out there before. I think the larger tables all go out there. We had seven and there was another group of about twenty in the same room with us. Food ranges from fairly good to fucking great. I've never had anything bad here, but a few sighs have been had, mostly by misunderstood expectations of what I was getting I would say. So, quite possibly I am the problem. As with most of my problems, actually... The oysters Rockefeller are very different from the norm. Fried oysters on a side of spinach. That's what it seems like. I ate it up, don't get me wrong. I did just switch to only fried oysters after the first one. No need wasting stomach space on spinach. Charbroiled oysters is always a good move and the preparation remains traditional on that one. I do find the oysters to be quite massive and hard to chew the whole thing at once. Cutting them just seems silly though. Steaks are prepared very well and to your liking each time. I have never had a bad one. Good flavor too. I am going to spring on the Hawaiian Ribeye the next time I go on my dime. It's a classic that I remember from Steak and Ale as well as Houston's. Both now gone from Memphis. I like the she crab soup an awful lot, and just about every entree I have had here is killer. You really cannot go wrong with the food. Just order something you normally like and boom. I will also say this. The short ribs I had last time were some of the best I have ever had. Bravo on that! Additionally, I had two giant pieces for like $40! I could only eat one of them after all of the appetizers. Oh.... Yea. They have a hot lobster roll that is good! You don't see that in Memphis very often!! Get you some. Wait.... Lamb Lollipops. They have evolved some of the years but they have really good lamb chops. They used to be the exact same dish as their sister concepts of Itta Bena, BB Kings, and Lafayette's. I am not sure if the whole family still has the old version or not. Here it has changed a good bit. As I write this, I crave it.... Ugh. Damn your foods and your seductive prowess food skills! Lastly, Tommy Peters did great things for this city's food scene. I am sad that he is gone but I know he was proud of this one! Ok. That's enough, Adam.... No one reads this crap anyway. '26 - 48

I came with a friend and my mind and tastebuds were on steak... they didn't let us down. The apps we had we fantastic too. The bread and cheese player we ordered opened our eyes to delicious combinations of blueberry jam (which they make there) with a creamy cheese, that I wish I can remember the name of, then drizzled with honey they source locally! The bite was heaven. Then the dinner came. The beef tenderloin presented so beautifully and tasted so much better. The mushroom sauce was perfection with finely balanced flavors. Then I paired it with an Earthquake Cab, . Chef kiss!! Everything was absolutely memorable and enjoyable. One thing they could do to add to the ambiance is blocking the headlights of cars from shining into their restaurant. There are simple things that can be rolled out in front the restaurant to assist. But even with the lights shining they are the best thing I've had in a long time.

Our server was very nice, attentive and provided recommendations and answered questions about the menu. She was fantastic. We started off with the mushroom toast that was covered with bacon, a variety of mushrooms, cheese, and a soft boiled egg. The umami flavors were out of this world. I would order that again. My friends had the half order of the Bolognese and mentioned it was delicious. Another friend ordered the salad and it was very fresh and a good portion. I ordered the pan seared flounder with grits and julienned vegetables. My dish was tasty but very salty to me. I am very sensitive to salt so it could just be my tastebuds. The food presentation was fabulous. It is plus when the food looks so good you want to dive into it quickly. I facilitated back and forth about ordering an after dinner cup of coffee. I am so glad I did. The coffee was made in a french press and the flavor was borderline divine! Our server was so nice. She comped my coffee. I will return to try lunch or brunch. I ordered the shrimp tossed in chili teriyaki sauce, as listed on the menu. The shrimp were fried extremely hard and arrived cold. Instead of being properly tossed in sauce, there was only a minimal drizzle on a few pieces, which made the dish feel incomplete and not as described. The catfish nuggets and fries were just okay--again, both arrived cold, which seems to be a consistent issue with food temperature. The bar experience was also disappointing. The green tea shots were not made correctly, and the "double" shot of Jack Daniels was poured more like a single. In addition, the menu did not include any drink options or pricing. While the waiter mentioned they have a full bar, having a drink menu (even a basic one) would make ordering much easier and more enjoyable, especially for guests looking to try something new. Service-wise, the waiter was clearly overwhelmed and not very available, but when she did come to the table, she was very kind and pleasant. No complaints about her attitude--just a staffing or management issue. Overall, there's definitely potential here, but improvements are needed in food temperature, menu accuracy, and bar consistency to elevate the experience.
