This is a nice food truck that serves some really good Mexican food that includes tacos, taconganas, quesadilla, burritos, tortas and pizzas. I placed my order ahead online and it was very easy to park here. You can also call your order in. I will admit that the place is located in a somewhat sketchy area. This is pretty much a carryout place. During warmer weather, they do have tables out for their customers to eat though. Anyway, my food was ready when I got there and the staff was very friendly. I got a an Asada Taco, Pastor Taco, and Barbacoa Torta. They were all fresh, flavorful and delicious. I really liked them. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are looking for some delicious Mexican food. read more

I had stopped by the summer location to order but when I saw their new prices I was shocked. $17 dollars for a burrito? $4.99 for just one of those little tacos?? $21 dollars for other items on the menu. Nope . I refuse to pay that much. The food is good. But they've lost a customer because of the extreme price increases. read more

As everyone else has already written here, this place is delicious. Simple menu but awesome food, I love coming here on my lunch break. Quick and fast service, food comes out pretty quick. Drove into town to visit my family for Christmas and was welcomed with Winter Storm Elliot. We were unable to do much with the weather conditions and was introduced to this place. Well, this may have been the best way to be introduced to Memphis. Lunch!!! These tacos and burritos were well worth the wait. They were fresh. Packed with flavor and a great addition to our snowed in day. The menu was simple. Easy to understand. It's better to order prior to arrival. And ordering is available online and by phone. The Ngana's trucks are amazing. I like most things here and always am excited to go to one of these trucks. They have shaded seating and plenty of parking so you can pick to eat in your car or at their tables. They often have music playing as well. I really like most of the tacos here. The chicken has good flavor and is moist but still needs some salsa so I always add that. The al pastor is also good but I prefer adding salsa or cheese- which is a style they have called TacosNGanas where they add cheese to different tacos! I was worried at first but I think it's cotija. Whatever it is, it goes really well with the tacos and that's my favorite style to get here now because I haven't seen it anywhere else! Joel didn't like the al pastor or the pollo but I am pretty sure he liked the nganas style so I'll have to get him to try those again next time. These are some of the best tacos in Shelby County. Place is essentially a food truck under a huge awning... but the set up is nice, comfortable , professional with nice tables. Fast service and it was a PERFECT day to enjoy on site or take away. There is a patio seating area in the parking lot. I'll definitely be back. So I had the vegetarian Nganas, shrimp Nganas, and a regular shrimp taco. Probably some of the best tacos I've ever had. Seasoned with perfection, flavorful, and just delicious in your mouth. The food here was super tasty! There had been a lot of talk around town and I definitely couldn't wait to give it a try . The way things are set up is pretty unique. They are a food truck, but they have a parking lot space set up with table and chairs available for seating (which is cool for a day that they weather is good). When you walk up, there is one line to order then, you get a ticket and pick up in another line. That made the transaction smooth. Plus they have menus available for you to look over while in line. Now, on to the food. I had 3 tacos. The Camarones (shrimp), Pollo (chicken), and Al Pastor (pork) tacos were all amazing and flavorful. I had them with the Consommé (which is a beef broth) and it was delicious! If you are in the area I would definitely recommend giving it a try. You won't regret it. I ordered my food told the lady I wanted "2 soft shell tacos with ground beef, cheese, and sour cream." In the middle of me ordering she stopped to talk to her coworker. After standing there for about a minute waiting she asked me, if what "I wanted was 2 soft shell tacos with sour cream." I said, "2 soft shell tacos with ground beef, cheese, and sour cream." They gave me 2 soft shell tacos with beef onions and some green stuff... basically the only thing they got right was the beef and soft shell taco. I walked back up there to tell her that it's not right. She said it was my fault. I couldn't get a refund the only thing she could do was put cheese on it. I said well can I get my money back because it's not right that's not what I ordered she then said it wasn't their fault. The thing is I don't even do this type of stuff and probally wouldn't have if they would have just remade the food I didn't want my money back for it just wanted it made right from the jump. They messed it up took no accountability and blamed it on me. I didn't eat the food I didn't touch it so I don't see how I couldn't even get a refund. I never left a review before but after this terrible experience I had to. Make sure if you order triple check what they write because nothing about the taco was right beside it being a soft shell tacos. If I could leave NO stars I would. Horrible service. read more

This was my second time eating here. OMG y'all, it's so good! First time, I had a chicken burrito. It was as big as my face, and insanely delicious. Today, I'm having chicken tacos, and they are honestly the best I have ever had. They even left the cilantro off for me!! If you are ever in Memphis, and get tired of BBQ (ha ha ha), you won't regret having Taco Nganas. Totally worth sitting outside in Memphis heat to eat, and that's saying a lot for this Mountain Girl. read more

The place looks really nice for a taco truck location. Glad to finally find one not in the middle of a gas station. Everything seems good so far. Wow. These have to be one of the best tacos I've ever had, and trust me, this was not my first rodeo. I've gone far and wide from east to west and south, and their tacos are lit!!! The tortillas are fresh, and the chicken was so flavorful and tender, you can taste the love in it. Shrimp was also good. Definitely pass on the asada, it ended up being basically broken down hamburger patty with so-so seasoning. Service is friendly, long line but it moved super fast. Even on a hot august day, eating there was manageable with the big cooling fans. read more

After the hype, I was hoping for more. Had some specialty tacos, but they seemed to either be 1) too nuanced for me to pick up on how they're that much different from the glut of taco truck tacos, or 2) not all that different from other offerings. Good, don't get me wrong, but the draw for me when it comes to street tacos is the simplicity: protein, onions, cilantro, tortilla (typically corn, but I'd much prefer flour). The true test, to me, is always lengua. It'll soak up the flavor of the grill, and if you're doing it right, there's a richness that can't be matched. The set up is impressive and lends itself to the volume they were doing when I was there, but I found it overhyped and somewhat disappointing. From where I stand, it's certainly worth a try, but the better value is at the other end of the parking lot in Guadalupana. read more

This was first time visiting and eating at this Taco Food truck... The set up is sweet they have patio seating. There's two lines one is ford ordering your food and is menu accessible at the same time. There's a completely separate line for you to pick up your food, once your name is called. Tonight (Sat. 9/10) is such a beautiful night to eat in they're patio area. There's plenty of parking also eady entry and exit. I saw these tacos on TikTok and declared that I had to try them and magically, this place popped up on my Facebook (thank you spies)! I went and the service was excellent but let me tell you about these tacos and the broth... Heaven. Fat girl heaven. This place is so good!! Now there is a wait, at least 15-20 minutes sometimes 30 depending on the night and my night is usually Taco Tuesday. The Asada Burrito is good, the Camarones Burrito is good. The Camarones Fried taco is amazing!! I prefer the burrito without the refrigerator beans but of course they keep forgetting. Can't go wrong with this truck!! read more

On yesterday, I had the best shrimp taco and shrimp burrito that I have ever had in my life. I am not just saying that to be saying that. I am saying that because it's true! If I could give Taco Ngana 100 stars, I would give Taco Ngana 100 stars! The food is so good that it will make you want to jump up and down and say, God is good all the time and all the time, God is good! This place is so good that it will cause you to make a business decision. If you were offered a job out of town, it would make you think, now if I take this job, I won't be able to eat at Taco Ngana! Honestly I couldn't decide between a 3 star or a 5 star review...so 4 it is. The food? The fried tacos were great, the burritos less so. As a suggestion to the owner, they should wrap the burrito tighter and maybe even wrap it in paper to help support it. Having to eat a burrito with a knife and fork is a sin...seriously people have been denied entry to heaven for eating a burrito with a knife and fork. The not so great? The excessively loud music and the eternal wait both before and after ordering. I mean I admit that the line was probably 10 people long, but it took 20-25 minutes before we placed our order. It was at least that long again until the order was ready. So bottom line....would I go again? Yes, but only if the line was leas than say 5 people and only if I was taking my food to go if the music was as loud as it was my first trip. As a suggestion they might take phone in orders. I haven't tried it but if it worked, that would be much better than standing in line. read more

This hype is right for this spot! Finally had the chance to try their shrimp tacos "nganas style" and they were incredible. The chipotle cream sauce is so delicious with the perfect amount of spice. I recommend getting 4 because you will want leftovers! I tried the pastor and it was too cinnamon forward than I prefer. I tried the consome which was very flavorful as well. read more

After seeing this taco truck move from place to place on Summer Ave and always with a line of folks, I finally pulled into their newest location/parking lot across from Kroger's. I'm so glad I did! You can order and then sit in your car and wait for your name to be called over a PA...I will say though the music is too loud/too close because having to order with a face mask on and yelling over the music was a bit much but I did dig the tunes and energy. I got the regular asada taco and a shrimp taco ngana (fried shell) and a chicken quesadilla. Both tacos were fresh flavored and tasty and the jalapeño (?) creama gave a nice zest and sustained heat. I will say though that my shrimp taco ngana shell did not have as much crunch as I expected with a fried shell but think it's because it was put next to the regular taco in a box and steamed so it fell apart while I was eating it. I may ask for separate foil for next time. The chicken quesadilla was good but think a little greasy since it looks like it's cooked on a flattop...but the chicken was moist and well seasoned. Their menu seems to offer enough options to entice me for another visit and glad to see a cool spot that actually is perfect for the current dine out situation of 2020. read more

I've been seeing birria style tacos featured at Taco Ngana and I finally got the chance to try them. I went on Cinco de Mayo and they had an "express" line that featured preassembled tacos and birria. If you wanted something custom or other menu items, then there was a quoted wait time of 1 hour. Therefore, I chose express. I wanted to make the most of my visit, so I selected shrimp, steak, shredded chicken, and shredded beef and the birria. Once I got home, I ate both the shrimp & steak tacos and they were AMAZING! There were so many tasty shrimp that I had enough to save for my chicken taco for later. The sauce on the shrimp taco was good too. The steak was flavorful as well. However, I nibbled on the chicken and it was just ok. I just sampled the beef and it's good. All tacos were dressed in pico and lettuce and that helped give some nice flavor. The guacamole cream sauce was hot as advertised. But, the birria was hot. I only had a few bites and am thinking of ways to tone it down when I eat it for lunch. The next day for lunch, I ate the birria with rice and beans and it was very tasty and tolerable. Great food truck. I ordered the pollo, al pastor, y chicharron tacos. I feel like most chicken tacos tend to be bland, but these had pretty good flavor. The al pastor was fantastic. The seasoning was perfect and the meat tasty. The chicharron was different, not something I've had before. I think it would have been better deep fried but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I'm not a local but I would definitely come back if I come through Memphis again. read more
