I placed my order ahead online and it was very easy to park here. You can also call your order in. I will admit that the place is located in a somewhat sketchy area. This is pretty much a carryout place. During warmer weather, they do have tables out for their customers to eat though. Anyway, my food was ready when I got there and the staff was very friendly. Meh. I think the quality has gone down. Its so much greasier than when they were first starting out. The shrimp torta was mostly cheese and refried beans, and very soggy. I can tell there are strict portion guidelines, and I understand needing to do so to ensure profitability, but the shrimp were small and scarce. For a $20+ sandwich, my only thoughts while eating it were those that were shaming myself, because I could've bought a whole bag of large wild caught Argentinian shrimp for the same amount that I paid for this sad little sandwich. Coming from San Antonio, TX, this place just fails by comparison. I was used to being served with tacos that have meat filling the plate. The serving here, I pointed to the pictures on the poster to order, and was surprised they charge taco by the piece and not by the plate. So it is quite expensive. And the meat serving is small. The Ngana's trucks are amazing. I like most things here and always am excited to go to one of these trucks. They have shaded seating and plenty of parking so you can pick to eat in your car or at their tables. They often have music playing as well. I really like most of the tacos here. The chicken has good flavor and is moist but still needs some salsa so I always add that. The al pastor is also good but I prefer adding salsa or cheese- which is a style they have called TacosNGanas where they add cheese to different tacos! I was worried at first but I think it's cotija. Whatever it is, it goes really well with the tacos and that's my favorite style to get here now because I haven't seen it anywhere else! They are a food truck, but they have a parking lot space set up with table and chairs available for seating (which is cool for a day that they weather is good). When you walk up, there is one line to order then, you get a ticket and pick up in another line. That made the transaction smooth. Plus they have menus available for you to look over while in line. Now, on to the food. I had 3 tacos. The Camarones (shrimp), Pollo (chicken), and Al Pastor (pork) tacos were all amazing and flavorful. I ordered my food told the lady I wanted "2 soft shell tacos with ground beef, cheese, and sour cream." In the middle of me ordering she stopped to talk to her coworker. I said well can I get my money back because it's not right that's not what I ordered she then said it wasn't their fault. The thing is I don't even do this type of stuff and probally wouldn't have if they would have just remade the food I didn't want my money back for it just wanted it made right from the jump. They messed it up took no accountability and blamed it on me. I didn't eat the food I didn't touch it so I don't see how I couldn't even get a refund. I never left a review before but after this terrible experience I had to. After the hype, I was hoping for more. Had some specialty tacos, but they seemed to either be 1) too nuanced for me to pick up on how they're that much different from the glut of taco truck tacos, or 2) not all that different from other offerings. Good, don't get me wrong, but the draw for me when it comes to street tacos is the simplicity: protein, onions, cilantro, tortilla (typically corn, but I'd much prefer flour). The true test, to me, is always lengua. It'll soak up the flavor of the grill, and if you're doing it right, there's a richness that can't be matched. The set up is impressive and lends itself to the volume they were doing when I was there, but I found it overhyped and somewhat disappointing. From where I stand, it's certainly worth a try, but the better value is at the other end of the parking lot in Guadalupana. read more

As a suggestion to the owner, they should wrap the burrito tighter and maybe even wrap it in paper to help support it. After seeing this taco truck move from place to place on Summer Ave and always with a line of folks, I finally pulled into their newest location/parking lot across from Kroger's. I'm so glad I did! You can order and then sit in your car and wait for your name to be called over a PA...I will say though the music is too loud/too close because having to order with a face mask on and yelling over the music was a bit much but I did dig the tunes and energy. I got the regular asada taco and a shrimp taco ngana (fried shell) and a chicken quesadilla. Both tacos were fresh flavored and tasty and the jalapeño (?) creama gave a nice zest and sustained heat. I will say though that my shrimp taco ngana shell did not have as much crunch as I expected with a fried shell but think it's because it was put next to the regular taco in a box and steamed so it fell apart while I was eating it. I may ask for separate foil for next time. The chicken quesadilla was good but think a little greasy since it looks like it's cooked on a flattop...but the chicken was moist and well seasoned. I've been seeing birria style tacos featured at Taco Ngana and I finally got the chance to try them. I went on Cinco de Mayo and they had an "express" line that featured preassembled tacos and birria. If you wanted something custom or other menu items, then there was a quoted wait time of 1 hour. Therefore, I chose express. I wanted to make the most of my visit, so I selected shrimp, steak, shredded chicken, and shredded beef and the birria. Once I got home, I ate both the shrimp & steak tacos and they were AMAZING! There were so many tasty shrimp that I had enough to save for my chicken taco for later. The sauce on the shrimp taco was good too. The steak was flavorful as well. However, I nibbled on the chicken and it was just ok. I just sampled the beef and it's good. All tacos were dressed in pico and lettuce and that helped give some nice flavor. The guacamole cream sauce was hot as advertised. But, the birria was hot. Great food truck. I ordered the pollo, al pastor, y chicharron tacos. I feel like most chicken tacos tend to be bland, but these had pretty good flavor. The al pastor was fantastic. The seasoning was perfect and the meat tasty. The chicharron was different, not something I've had before.
