These tacos are to die for!!! If you eat outside in the Memphis summer heat, it's actually possible. LOL The trucks are all over Memphis and all seating is outdoors at every location. They have covered areas for you to sit with fans and things to try and make you comfortable. I think there are about 8 trucks total now. They do a good job of trying to make it ideal to dine at the food truck site. They have covered areas at every location but I do find myself here on more of the milder days we experience here in Memphis, all eleven of them. Tehehe They are incredibly consistent from truck to truck. You can expect to receive the same food and service at each one. It gets busy, but don't fret, they move the lines very quickly. The customer base is eclectic and I just love it. You will see people from every walk of life, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and even some stoic folks like me. You know when you see that kind of mix of guests, it's gonna be good! I've had most of the menu and I will say all of it is good. The burrito will hold you over for two meals if you manage to eat it all. Tortas, Quesadillas, and even Birria Pizzas are also on the menu. I like to stick to the tacos though. The N'Ganas style tacos they sell are amazing though! The crispy shell loaded with cheese, your choice of protein, and onions/cilantro combo is a perfect taco. I like the crispy shell ones too, Tacos de Canasta, but you get some different filling options on those. I like beans a lot and this seems to be the only way you can get them here. I stopped by TacoNganas on Perkins for lunch and got my go-to order . I got two steak street tacos and a glass bottle Coke. They opened early, and I appreciated how quick the service was. The tacos came out hot, with plenty of tender steak, fresh onions, and cilantro packed into soft corn tortillas. The flavor was on point !! It fresh, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. I squeezed the lime over the top, and it really brought everything together. The place was clean and the staff were friendly, even though it was a quick stop. I always enjoy my experience and food at Taco Nganas. This time I tried something different outside of my birria style tacos with the consome. I normally get the beef taco. It is packed with flavor and ingredients, the cheese, tortillas, and meet is all fried together making every bite mouthwatering. This time, I got the the burrito and it did not disappoint. I have been hearing about this place for a while and it did not disappoint. The area is made up of two large food trucks and a seating area under a large tent. Use the parking lot at the side. I ordered Steak Quesadilla, Steak Taco, Chicken Taco, and Shrimp Taco. It only took a couple of minutes for them to complete my order. The food is amazing. Each taco was dipped into oil and loaded with cheese and meat. The quesadillas are huge. It would be better if they had salsa or more flavorful hot sauce. If you're a bit skeptical because of the looks and location ignore those thoughts, this place is delicious! They do get a bit busy around lunch (12ish) so I would recommend coming a little earlier or later. My go-to is the shrimp tacos. They have so much flavor and the slaw you get on the side is delicious. I'm not a big slaw girl, but squeeze that fresh lime you get it and I'm sold me. They are decent size tacos, not too small, so I get two and I'm pretty comfortable. I've also tried the burrito and MAN, is that thing huge! I got two solid meals out of that. Voted the best tacos in Memphis? The hype is real! So we went to what used to be an old gas station (the pumps have bags over them) and they've put four or five round metal tables for people to sit. Added some patio lights and a big Mexican flag. When we went, they had three extra large taco trailers parked (I'm assuming they go to different locations and park them there at night). One was open and was churning out customer orders non stop. I tried the torta taconganas. You pick your meat and then wait until ur number is called. The torta was huge! It came with melted cheese, delicious chicken, beans and a few other things. It felt like you were eating a torta from a street vendor in Mexico City. Also ordered some tacos. The carne asada was spectacular! The Al pastor were good. Both the torta and the tacos came with a salsa verde that was spicy and tangy and tasted fresh. Look for them!
