The replaced trees from Moon Valley continue to struggle. All my trees from other nurseries are doing amazing. Won't be back.

We arrived at Moon Valley with no idea how we planned to design our yard. Mars greeted us as we entered and was warm and knowledgeable. He helped guide us through the process of picking plants that best fit our yard based on different sun exposures through out the property. He chose plants that were colorful and resilient and we couldn't be more happy with the outcome. Thanks, Mars. Would recommend his expertise to anyone we know. read more

We bought a "non hedge" Ficus from Moon Valley three years ago. It is truly flourishing but seemed to be growing at a bit of an angle. Moon Valley stepped up and sent crews to both trim the tree (to take some heft off )and a crew the next day to straighten the tree. Everyone at the "Shop" as well as both crews were totally professional. They showed up timely, did great work and were gone in no time. I highly recommend Moon Valley! read more

This company gets a 5 star rating not the 4 that was posted before. The 5th star didn't lock in. I'm so sorry!!! Such a huge mistake but didn't know it didn't wasn't posted as I reviewed. I am posting once again! The 5 star keeps disappearing!!! What the heck! How does a person leave the 5 star review when it keeps disappearing???? read more

Great company and Korbin is a dreamy hunk of manmeat

Great service both during and after planting! I bought 4 huge (12yo) trees. Delivery and planting was as expected, and they came back later to improve the staking due after my concern about high winds. Very satisfied. read more

At first the service was great because we spent over 25,000 on various trees for our yard but I had an ordeal with another landscaping company DESERT DESIGN that I hired to trim my trees . Long story short they butchered my trees. My 10 foot laurels were cut down to 5 feet. I demanded they replace my 11 trees with new ones from Moonvalley. They were gracious enough to do so and I commend that company for standing behind their word. So I went to pick out new laurels at Moonvalley through the man we have been dealing with for years MATT, and he said it was too hot and that HE would pick them out for me. Of course I trusted him. HE DID NOT PICK THEM OUT and I ended up with long twigs and a few leaves. Why didn't he call me if he want going to pick them out because HE wasn't going to be paid for doing it? I would of went and picked them out. Now Moonvalley refuses to replace the twigs they gave me. Moonvalley was paid from desert design to replace my trees not twigs. And corporate customer service is unresponsive. I'm really heartbroken. read more

My experience here was unbelievable. Today I tried this place for the first time in my search for a tree. Initially I was shocked by their high prices (the trees start at $149) but decided it wasn't worth it to leave and go somewhere else. To be fair the trees looked very nice. The young guy that came over to help me told me the trees were just brought in from Canada. While I was checking out with the other young guy he told me the trees just came in from Oregon with snow on them the day after Thanksgiving. The first young guy trimmed the tree but didn't take enough branches off at the bottom, so that meant I had to get handy at home and have a real struggle! He then tied the tree to the top of my Wrangler. When I went to drive away I noticed the passenger door wouldn't shut all the way, but I tried to push it and it wouldn't close so I figured it would be ok. I drove off and just a few minutes away the car door swings open. So here I am driving down the road, trying to pull the door shut at the same time and I hear the tree start swinging about up top. I take my first chance to turn which happens to be into the National Guard's Sunnyslope Office. Luckily a wonderful guy who was on his way into work there and had pulled in behind me offered to help. He completely undid my tree and tied it up again, this time using my roll bars. I finally successfully made it home. What a ridiculous experience! I will definitely never go back with those prices and lack of competence! read more

This is the only nursery I use. The have top quality plants, are very knowledgable, and stand behind the quality of everything they sell. Also, I bought a large Christmas tree at their adjacent lot. After about two weeks the tree started looking bad and would no longer drink water. I stopped in to voice my displeasure. They quickly offered a new tree that lasted 3 weeks and was beautiful when we finally took it down. read more

I called Moon Valley Nursery to ask questions about my King Palm Trees that were recently planted. Leon answered the phone and provided valuable information on how to care for King Palm Trees and I plan on purchasing Palm Juice in the future. I truly appreciate Leon's advice and will be using the local Nursery in the future. read more

I have always got mine trees a Moon Valley. I never have any problems with them, and they grow so fast. I just got two more trees and Micah swinhart at 7 Street Phoenix help me, He went over the top helping me pick the trees I wanted. The Jay came to put the trees in and again over the top with information and helping me with other things I might look at doing. I thank both of these great guys. Moon Valley knows custom service. Thanks. read more

We are regulars at Moon Valley but customer service is getting poor. My wife purchased enough flowers that she needed a cart to get them to the car. She was struggling to maneuver the cart while 4 male employees just watched. Wait 1 did move his bike so she could get through. When you pay extra at a nursery instead of a big chain store you'd expect better customer service. Off to Walmart we go. read more

I bought two fan tex ash trees from Moon Valley, as I use a wheelchair to get around I let them pick the trees out and deliver, they were not healthy or planted deep enough or straight, when they came back to fix I spotted the boss breaking a twig off to check the health of the tree. Seven years later that tree is a half dead eyesore that never was going to grow. Never trust them to pick the trees out, they will bring what they need to get rid of. read more

My landscaper quoted me to install 2 palm type trees. I got tired of the lengthy time to get the job done. Decided to negotiate with Moon Nursery after past good experiences. I had them install 2 - 7' Pineapple Palms. The results were better than anticipated. My yard looked great after they left. Their 90 day guarantee and $100 worth of fertilizer, I felt I got a good deal and am totally satisfied. read more

I left two messages for tree removal with a live person there and no one ever called me back. I guess they don't need any new business.

Ordered 8 Oleander for hedge. John and his amazing team planted them in record time( to say nothing of the heat) They look great and we're confident they'll grow and do the job for privacy. Great team at this location! From sales , re-booking the planting, to planting and a follow up call- THAT'S GREAT SERVICE! read more

My husband and I went to the nursery to browse their selection of large box trees. We found a great tree and spent $750 on it with delivery expected in two weeks. When we excitedly got home to flag where the tree should be planted we were saddened to see it would grow into the overhead power line to our house. We called the store about 2 hours after leaving and explained our situation. We asked if the sale could be refunded until we could have the utility company bury our power line. The manager Ken told us there would be a 15% cancellation fee. Despite the fact that the tree was still sitting in the same place on their lot where they tagged it two hours earlier and they'd lost no money or manpower on the sale, he refused to refund the full amount. We've spent thousands on our yard and were going to spend another $750 there today. After this experience, Moon Valley collected a $110 fee without earning it, but lost thousands in future sales on the rest of our yard's refurbishing. In reading the customer reviews, it seems that this location has an ongoing problem with customer service. Hopefully someone at the district level remedies this. The plants are great, the service is not. read more

If I were reviewing the selection of trees, easily a 5-star review. But since I have to factor in the less than charming sales guy stuffing his face with a pulled pork sandwich while "helping" me, not quite a 5 anymore. After it became apparent that Spring would not resurrect our dearly departed pepper tree, I decided the best way to pick a tree was not from a book of perfect specimens beautifully photographed. I also cannot envision what a twig in a small pot will look like in 5 or 10 years either. So we made the trek to Moon Valley to see some actual trees. Their selection is impressive. We were greeted promptly by said pulled pork guy (PPG). My original plan was to get a crane so I could have a giant tree with instant shade delivered. Until my landscaper informed me it would be about a $1000 for the crane alone. Never mind, a twig will be just fine. PPG asked about our space constraints for delivery. As there is no direct access to the back yard beyond a narrow breeze way, he helped us determine a 24-inch box was probably the maximum size we could accommodate. Great, now we're getting somewhere. I let PPG know our back yard was small, so we needed a small to medium sized tree. He proceeded to show us all kinds of trees, and seemed particularly fond of selling an ash tree. A tree noted to be a "large" tree on their description because after all, "it is one of the smaller ash trees." By now, it had become apparent he was not going to be much help, and since I can read, we ditched him and looked on our own. We didn't buy from Moon Valley, but on our way out, PPG reminded us we needed to get a tree in soon so we would have shade for the summer. I guess that 24-inch box tree was expected to spread 10-feet in 8 weeks...unless PPG really wasn't paying any attention to his customer's needs? What did we buy? A pretty crepe myrtle chosen from a book of beautifully photographed perfect specimens, well maybe not a book, but the internet. A tree our landscaper had never planted, but was able to find. It's still alive. With pretty pink flowers that are supposed to be red. Hmmm. read more

Supposedly they have free gardening help and free landscape design consultations, but I wouldn't know, since they never responded to my requests. I sent them a photo of my dying plants via their "contact us" form on their website: No Response. I also emailed them asking for help in designing my landscape project: No Response. That was 2 weeks ago. I bet if I bought a $1500 tree, they would respond! read more

My mother wanted landscaping work done, so we decided to give Moon Valley Nursery a chance at our business. In the past, we have had bad experiences with other companies and were hesitant to try another company out. After the job was competed, my mother and I were extremely impressed with this company's honesty, dedication and professional work attitude. Mark, Wes and the rest of the team were very flexible and very attentive to the details with our landscaping plans. We were blown away by just how welcoming and friendly each member of the team was and their dedication towards our landscaping goals. In the future, we will absolutely be using Moon Valley Nursery for any landscaping services. You will not be disappointed by this awesome team of professionals! read more

I recently moved into a home with no backyard landscaping at all and a horribly evil tree in the front yard. Knowing I couldn't stare at bare dirt much longer, and being totally fed up with getting poked by the thorny branches on the tree in the front I knew I needed to make my way to a nursery. I ventured to the Moon Valley on 7th st with some dreams in mind and no landscaping experience in hand. I knew that the backyard would be difficult to work with because it gets full sun all day and the land was untouched, meaning hard and rocky. I was pleased that the staff here greeted me promptly, then let me wander and see what they had to offer on my own without feeling bombarded. Once I had some more ideas and TONS of questions the staff here was able to answer my five million obnoxious questions with ease and a smile. The team member who helped me, not only helped me navigate my way to plants that would work well under the conditions I had to work with, but gave me the pros and cons to each plant. Once I had picked out what plants I wanted to start with the staff even helped me to carry them all (silly me didn't grab a cart). Thanks Moon Valley for helping me to make the backyard a prettier place, and the front less pokey! read more

We've been a customer of Moon Valley for several years. We don't use any other nursery. Our recent experience was a 5 star experience. We purchased a mesquite tree a couple of years ago and had problems due to a couple of wind storms this year. It needed trimming and re-staking. The re-staking required some added muscle to get the tree staked correctly so it took two visits. Without rambling, I have to say that this was the best tree trim and staking the little mesquite has had! So, thanks to Josh T. (7th St and Hearn). And his team! We'll continue to use MV for purchase and care of our plants/trees! read more

After the recent monsoon storms we lost a big old Palo Verde tree in our front yard needed to replace it. We worked with Cameron at Moon Valley to figure out the best tree for our needs. He was exceptionally helpful and friendly in selecting the tree as well as several other plans for our yard. He was knowledgeable and was patient with all our questions. We were scheduled to have the tree delivered and installed by them in two weeks, but received a call two days after purchasing saying that they had an opening in their schedule due to a cancellation and could get us in the next day. Which of course we loved! When Tyler showed up with his crew to place the tree, we quickly figured out the area wasn't big enough for the hole that needed to be dug for the tree and because of the location the guys in the truck could not pick the 600 pound tree up over a couple of retaining walls to get it into the hole. After a couple of quick telephone calls to the nursery we figured out we could go with the same tree but in the next size down. Tyler jumped in his truck and went and picked up that tree while his team prepared the hole for installation. And when he got back the tree and all the plants were planted and I had a full understanding of what to do to ensure the health of all the plants. Moon Valley was exceptionally accommodating to the unexpected situation, the difference between the two trees cost was refunded promptly and I really did appreciate Tyler and Cameron going above and beyond to make sure that not only did we get the tree we wanted but the one properly sized for the area it was going into. I would highly recommend Moon Valley to anyone looking for anything needed from a nursery. I know in the future when we go to buy more plants will be going there due in large part to the effort that was made to make sure we were happy and that our yard looks good. read more

I have been a client of Moon Valley for about 10 years. I love the variety of plants and the friendly and knowledgeable employees that I have had the pleasure of meeting over the years. I wanted to send out a special thanks to Matt Wendt and Cameron Simms who were my design specialists for my most recent, and most stressful purchase thus far. I had no idea what I wanted for the space that needed coverage. They not only recommended the perfect choice for the area; they both followed up with me either by phone, in person or via email. I would highly recommend stopping in to meet these two and use their services. I also wanted to add that John and his crew who delivered and planted the trees, were prompt, professional and clean! No mess to clean up when they left! read more

I went to Moon Valley Nursery last week to pick up a couple of veggie/herb plants for my garden. This location was alright, but did not have that many options for veggie plants. Additionally, the lady working there was not terribly knowledgeable about the plants and answered my questions very vaguely. For example, I asked her about the difference in planting/maintaining different types of cucumber plants and she responded that I should plant the ones I like to eat.... not really what I was getting at. Despite this, my plants I got from here are doing well in my garden so far and were reasonably priced. read more

My experience with Moon Valley Nursery has been so easy even when I threw a wrench in the deal by adding work. They were able to get it scheduled with previously scheduled work and it was accomplished on the same day. You can't even tell I had trees in theses locations. Today is my scheduled day. After waiting 6 weeks to have my $5K order delivered and planted, I called to check the status due to not showing up in the time frame. It was going to get dark. I got a call back that the previous customer was taking longer, and they would not be able to get to me that day. When I asked when they planned on getting it done, I was given another week and a half due to other orders scheduled. This was totally unacceptable. I asked why I wouldn't be the next day? The answer was we don't work on Saturday. I said Monday would be fine. No sense of urgency, then said a few more days. This was the 7th St location. I have shopped at Moon Valley over 20 years, for many different home's. Based on my experience, I'm sure they don't care about losing 5K or a customer. I got my refund promptly.
