What a unique dining experience! I went here for a business dinner while in Dallas last week. When asked how I would describe the food, I guess I'd say modern French/Mediterranean?? The night we were in, there were no pizzas due to an issue with the oven, but no worries. I went with the beet salad and the polenta and shrimp and both were great! Two others had the steak and one the pork chop. Dessert was bizarre. There was a chocolate and cheese offering that was totally unusual. Apricots, chocolate that was almost cake, but like brownie cake, Brie and macadamia nuts. It wasn't bad, but just weird. The beignets we got were awesome - pillowy cinnamon sugar dough! Our server was great and didn't rush the process at all. We were able to order cocktails and talk before ordering our mains and never felt rushed. The place is busy, but the noise is less of a problem than in neighbouring spots where it's hard to have a conversation. The overall look is very nice. I would definitely recommend and suggest a mojito or a house cocktail! read more

I discovered Monaco had opened while looking for a new restaurant spot in my neighborhood. After reading a few reviews, I decided to give it a try. What a great decision that was! I made reservations for my partner and I for 5pm. Since the restaurant is literally around the corner from our place we arrived at about 4:45. Upon entering, the place was empty and the staff was still moving about making final touches. That's when we were immediately greeted and the hostess advised that the kitchen technically didn't open until 5 but they'd be happy to seat us and start us off with some cocktails if we liked. We were lead to a cozy booth in the corner not far from the window. The restaurant was adorned with blue velvet seating throughout and the most beautiful lighting. Moments later we were asked if we would like spring or sparkling water and the hostess promptly came back to fill our lovely blue glasses. Then the waitress arrived. She was very pleasant and asked if we would like her to explain the menu. She gave us a detailed run down of each dish and also introduced us to the wine and cocktail menu. My partner ordered the Grapefruit Gimlet and I ordered the Martinez. Both drinks were well crafted and simply amazing! They were fresh, not sugar laden and had the perfect balance of alcohol. As an appetizer, we ordered Crudités and Roasted Oysters. The chickpeas fries were very flavorful but cooked a bit too crisp. Nonetheless, still tasty. The broccolini was roasted and seasoned perfectly as well. The Oysters were stellar! Not too big or small, topped with breadcrumbs and a phenomenal bone marrow butter. For entrees, we had the Red Fish, Pizza and a side of hand cut fries. I mean, who doesn't order fries they're on the menu :-) The Red Fish was the star of the show! Skin nice and crispy..flesh moist. Woodear mushrooms tender and flavorful. The pizza had the most amazing dough! Last but not least, Crème Brûlée for dessert sealed it. We were going to get the beignets but the waitress advised that the kitchen had made too many Cream Brûlées and they decided to give them complimentary to that evenings guest. So we skipped the beignets and went with the Brûlée instead. Creamy, light and wonderful. Excellent job Monaco. We'll be back! read more

This is a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful lakefront walkway. We visited on a Friday afternoon around 3 pm and it was not very busy. There is a very convenient parking garage very close. We sat at the bar and were warmy greeted by the bartender, Rachel. She was very friendly and attentive. We had the Italian beef sandwich with fries and oysters. My mom usually prefers raw oysters on the half shell, but opted this time for the baked oyster dish and was very pleasantly surprised! We enjoyed a couple of Red Stripes and ended our visit with a creme brulee. Everything was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience. This place not only has exceptional eatery, but an exceptional atmosphere. The restaurant has an upscale feel, but inviting with the outdoor seating and large doorways opening to the outside. This place is perfect for coming and staying for a couple of hours. We grabbed some drinks and a few antipastos to start. I dont even think I can criticize any of the food we ordered. After we finished the antipastos, we took a walk around the boardwalk and enjoyed the water and scenery right outside the entrance. After finishing taking in the night air, we came back in for for drinks and ordered some principales to finish filling our gluttonous guts. The staff was amazing. The bartender and maitre d' came by and filled our wine glasses. The server was very attentive. Even the executive chef came out and chatted with us. This is a real food experience. read more

Monaco was an interesting experience. We anticipated an upscale French style Mediterranean restaurant given the name and we almost had that experience. Walking in, you immediately love the interior design but they were playing classic rock, which killed the mood for us. Additionally, the server didn't try to sell us on the restaurant experience or the food. They were rather disengaged and left it up to us to decide what we wanted even though we asked to be steered towards the things we shouldn't miss. The food was just okay but the restaurant itself just needs to continue to identify what it wants to be and press into that. read more

I went there with a friend for a dinner, there was 2 mor couples in front of us, the hostess sit them down first because they were in front of us, right behind us was getting in a new couple which they ask us, How long was the waiting time to be seated. We did tell them we don't know. five minutes later the hostess talk to us and tell us that according to the manager Johnny or John, I don't really remember the name, we have to wait 20 to 25 minutes to be sitting we agree right away after that we noticed that the couple that get in after us Was been seated and the next couple after them so that means it was something against us, Just to be clear, I don't really like people who make a big fuss about race, color or nationality, the rest of the people there they were white and the manager too, this is the first time in my life I felt discriminated I will never return to this place and I will tell all my friends and family to never go there so they don't pass for the same experience, I just hope everyone knows that this place discriminate people who is not white read more

Ambiance: LOVE their theme, can't wait to revisit and sit on their patio that faces the water. It felt very romantic with the dark lighting and candles on each table. So would say it's a great date spot. Service: we sat right down and did not have to wait at all or did we have a reservation. However, it was a wednesday night. Food: Smoked tartare was lacking some flavor to us and it just wasn't up to par with other the DFW restaurants in quality. Shrimp Laissez-faire was delicious. It had a kick of spice to it due to the chilis but complimented very well with the pineapple. Petite Frites was underwhelming. Just your typical steak and frites, nothing special. Ok so, look. You HAVE to try this place. I've tried 90% of the menu at this point and everything is phenomenal. 1. Food: food is great, everything is full of flavor and I'm struggling to pick a favorite dish because it is all so good . 2. Drinks: they have a phenomenal wine list and I'm a wine gal but the cocktails are great as well. The cantelope julipe is a hit and so is the gypsy daisy. For the wine the Pinot noir rose was really good a first for me but worth it and the bottle of Merlot (I took home) was one of the smoothest wines I've had so far in this life. 3. Ambience is amazing. I think brunch is going to be a hit at this spot and I'm personally looking forward to a brunch menu. 4. Staff: from the door, to the bar, to the severs I don't think they could have picked a better team. Delightful restaurant on the river walk. The cocktails are crisply executed. The pizza appetizer was filling, it could have been an entree within itself. The charcuterie board was perfectly balanced fresh and flavorful. The salad was a little meh. But the show stoppers here are the entrees oh my goodness the beef was melt in your mouth and the crispy redfish was skillfully seared In alignment with its artful wood ear fleur de sel finish. I came here during the soft launch and the atmosphere is incredible, the people who greeted us are so sweet. Our server was not as attentive though not sure why (there was only 3 people here) we came to try the food but it was so slow and we were in a rush so we just ordered dessert. The dessert was....flat. We ordered the chocolate cake and cheese and that's exactly what it was. A piece of small cake next to a block of cheese. Not my cup of tea unfortunately 1/5 Also not worth $14 for a mediocre cake and a $4 piece of cheese The way they hand you the check is cute though. It was my wife's intimate birthday brunch. We arrived after church and the food was amazing, the staff was so friendly, and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. We came here around closing time for dessert and drinks, we ordered all three desserts they had and a few cocktails. They were all delicious, we especially loved the chocolate cake with apricot, macadamia and cheese, I enjoy out of the box type ideas. The staff was so welcoming and even allowed us to hangout a little after closing time to finish our drinks and chat. Even the bartender made sure his drinks looked perfect before he served it to us. The ambiance great. We went around 6pm and it wasn't crowded at all on a day after Valentine's Day. The food was really good and our server was extremely helpful with helping us find the right drinks and entrees that fit our needs. I had the salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans and my boyfriend had steak and fries. We will definitely be visiting again. read more

I've seen so many restaurants come and go in this exact space...so I hope Monaco stays around a while! I will say this place stands apart from some of the other establishments I've seen here. Once you set foot into the restaurant, it feels like you've stepped back into time. The décor is very elegant yet European/vintage feel. Lovely cocktail menu if that's your thing. Even though it's not mine I was eyeing the menu and thinking about having them make me an old fashioned just so I could watch them make it. I ended up getting the king prawns which came with micro greens as well as grits. The prawns were massive and so very fresh. I am always leery of ordering seafood in general (my entire family is from south Texas by the water) so I'm used to the freshness but these prawns were wonderfully tasty and fresh. They had other items on the menu I plan on trying for the future, such as the burrata and prosciutto board. Overall this is an ideal date night spot, but you could just as easily roll solo, sit at the bar...and treat yo'self! I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and the intimate vibe. I loved everything about Monaco! The decor is stunning. The service welcoming! The staff attentive. And, most importantly, the food delicious! For an appetizer, we selected the Pizza Margherita. The pizza overall was tasty but the crust was the star. For my main or principal, I ordered the Redfish Marsala at the server's suggestion. He mentioned that it gets better with every bite, and he was right! My husband ordered the Pork Chop Piccata, which was likewise tasty. We topped off dinner with a cocktail (which had Miami in the name) and a Dutch beer. Unfortunately, we didn't leave room for dessert. The service was lovely, the vibes were great, and the drinks were awesome! The food was not all that especially for the price. The lobster bisque was an acquired taste, you get generous chunks of lobster which was nice but it overall wasn't my favorite. One of us thought the bolognese was as great but the other thought it was just pasta and meat sauce. And the petite frites were presented beautifully, but they cook more on the rare side, and the steak needed at least some salt. Overall if you're looking for good vibes and drinks it's a great option, but we weren't blown away by the food. 4.5 stars for a wonderful dinner experience! 0.5 star off for the soft shoestring fries in the Steak Frites. He ordered his steak rare and it was executed faithfully so. My Moroccan Beef Cheek had just the right amount of coarse salt cutting through the richness. The accompanying quinoa prune salad evokes Moroccan tangine dishes with its citrusy sweetness and spices. Our favourite was the Margherita Pizza which is listed as an appetizer but could also be a satisfying entree. I came here during the soft open, and was immediately impressed by the lovely interior. A perfect place for a great dinner with friends, and intimate enough for a date restaurant. The tartare was decent, although the unfortunate nature of most tartare is the neutrality of flavors, but the portion size was quite large comparatively. The steak frites that I had was delicious, although the amount of french fries was a bit wasteful...it was way too much proportionally speaking. Cocktails were lovely, and the service was good. What a cool mix of flavors! I had the cheeseburger (to die for) with the house made chips (EVEN MORE EPIC) for lunch today and couldn't be happier. Ummmmm Happy Hour is from 11am-6pm (24/7) for those who have Mondays off. ;-)))))) The selection is awesome. Locally sourced ingredients for those who care like me.
