We wanted to steer clear of the rain, so we stepped in for an appetizer and drink. We were greeted immediately, and since they had open seating, we sat at a table. They have an extended area with a window viewing, great for large parties or scenic seating. The staff was very attentive. The restraunt was very clean and seemed to have a good steady customer crowd. The complimentary bread rolls were warm and doughy, perfect with the spreadable bread. The menu has quite the selection and at a very affordable price. It was hard to choose, to the point where our waiter had to give us more time twice! In the end, we opted to try the stromboli filled with mushrooms, pepperoni sausage, and mozzarella with marinara on the side. It was perfect, not overly breaded, easy to eat, and the marinara wasn't overly acidic! Thankfully, we decided to share because it was pretty large. We noticed many of the plates walking by came in large portions so this is as an FYI if you'd like to go family style. What a wonderful find! My wife and I are traveling from Albany, New York, and were staying at a hotel near Love Field before flying home the next morning. We found Italian Café on TripAdvisor and Yelp and are so glad we did. My wife had the Chef Sergio Special, and I had the Chicken Parmesan. Both meals were absolutely amazing. You can get chicken parmesan just about anywhere, but this one really stood out. The sauce was delicious, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The Chef Sergio Special was incredible -- a lemon garlic sauce with fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil. The sides of angel hair pasta and fettuccine Alfredo were wonderful as well. Coming from New York, we also thought the prices were an incredible bargain at just $21.99 each for meals of this quality. Our waitress, Leydi, was so kind and attentive. She did a great job describing the dishes and also shared some of the background and 30-year history of the restaurant, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It's been awhile since I've been here and it was a pizza I picked up for take out! This is a nice restaurant with patio seating. My husband and I decided to come here for lunch during the week. We opened the door to see all the other people in line to order their food. I believe that's how they do their lunchtime. I ordered a slice of all meat pizza with a side salad and rolls and my husband ordered a slice of Margherita pizza and a pepperoni roll. After we received our food we seated ourselves at a table. Just moved to Dallas the last two years and I cannot find a pizzaria that comes close to NJ/NY pizzas. A buddy from NJ recommended this location. Who would had thought they have a section of the restaurant to look like a typical pizzaria in NY. The first time I've tried this, the wife surprised me with a pepperoni and mushroom pizza that she picked up while out. It was good. We then eventually came to the place to try it out at the restaurant and the pizza still didn't disappoint. Service was good. Food came out fast. Like all area restaurants, it seemed a little overpriced for the quality but the main problem I had was we were eating on the nice outdoor patio and seated not that near a small group of loud, foul-mouthed not that young women who were too intoxicated and ill-mannered to be allowed to misbehave so long. I do wish they would have brought rolls or something to our table, and at one point we had to go inside to ask for refills because our waiter never came back to check on us, hence the loss of a star. If they can work on that service and make sure they are being attentive to those on the patio (we weren't alone, either, there were quite a few tables full of folks out there, all of which were being neglected) I can raise this up to 5 stars. Ok. This was the closest place to my hotel and within walking distance so whether I wanted Italian or not Italian was on the docket. The outside of the place looked almost fast food like with two doors, one with a big self serve soda fountain with shelves like you see in buffets or hospital cafeterias. And confusing it was, it was begging for upscale in one part, and drive in diner on the flip side when the bread came out in a plastic red basket! While the bread was just decent, the piccata I ordered was excellent. So good if I lived 1700 miles closer, they would know me by name and my favorite table level of good. The roasted veggies were perfect. Nothing was a mushy mess and everything cooked perfectly. The piccata didn't hold back on the lemon and the chicken was fork tender through both pieces. Lastly, the service was excellent. The waiter suggested an alternative Italian beer that was even better than what I was going to order and service was prompt and personable with a packed house.
