The pizza game in Dallas continues to disappoint. From someone that has lived in Chicago, I was hopeful this place was going to change my mind but unfortunately I would have rather have gone to Little Cesars. I didn't expect them to compete with Lou Malnati's or anything similar but it compelled me enough to write the review in case anyone else had a Chicago pizza craving. Our pizza was over cooked. The sauce seemed like it came from a grocery store. The garlic bread was disappointing. I get restaurants have to make money but charging $1 for a small cup of marinara enough for only 2-3 pieces of bread. Chicago Deep Dish pizza has incredible service but hasn't quite mastered the food part yet. It is so beautiful and clean in there, the restrooms are unisex and clean and easy to use( locks, hooks for bags, soap and paper towels in stock). The TVs were playing sports and news and there was a beautiful outdoor sitting area. The service was off the charts, the waiter (who may have been the owner) was incredibly attentive and polite making sure we enjoyed the experience every step of the way. She refilled drinks before they were even halfway down, gave us refills in to-go cups before we left with candy, picked up straw paper for us, and was so kind with every request we made. We did not feel rushed at all. The menu had plenty of options but the flavor was unremarkable. My(shared) order was half Al Capone and half Wanted(without pineapples) and the flavor was just plain, it was too crunchy, it was not Chicago deep dish style mostly just, really thick crust. The toppings were slightly burnt and there just wasn't a lot to rave about. Given the price and the quality of the food I would not recommend it. This place is not the original pizzeria. It used to be known as Chicago Gourmet Pizzeria. Their pizza was as close to Chicago-authentic as you could ever find outside of Chicago, where I am from. I loved their pizza and ate it almost exclusively for years and years. Then they got bought out by this new place, Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. My uncle owns one of the most profitable pizza restaurants in the U.S. (as a single location). He is 82 and has owned dozens of restaurants. He creates the name, the theme, the menu, opens and builds them up for 5 years, and then sells them at their peak. INVARIABLY, the new owner tinkers with the menu and other things, and ruins the original concept, and is out of business within 2-3 years. Happened over and over again. When these new guys bought the original Chicago Gourmet Pizza, they tinkered. A LOT. When my last three pizzas from this place have meager quantities of ingredients on them, and the cheese is still not melted throughout the middle half of the pizza, I know there is a major problem, especially when I am ordering during the slow period of the day. I'm told it will take 30 minutes to make and bake. I pick it up right at the 30-minute mark, and the box is moist, the pizza is luke-warm, and the cheese is under-cooked. And where are all those toppings I ordered? And did I mention that the same pizza that was $24 in 2021 is now $34? And where are all those toppings I ordered? And why do I have to stick my freshly-baked pizza into my own oven for 12 minutes, just to fully cook it?? I am hoping that this review will shake things up over there and improve the quality, because the previous owner knew what he was doing. This new owner, not so much. My uncle had one restaurant that was a Mexican place, upscale, and after he made a ton of money from it for 20 years, he sold it, and the new owner kept it exactly the same, didn't change a thing. That guy made great money for another 25 years until COVID. Cheaper ingredients, short cuts, and all of the other tricks new owners play only work in the short-term, if they even work at all. But eventually, those tricks will put you out of business every single time. Just ask my uncle. read more

Not much traffic in here compared to the many popular restaurants around so if places are busy, it's a good option. The food took a while though so I'll be ready for a 45 minute dining experience or longer or if you need in a hurry let them know the pizza tasted really good and was fresh. Lots of options. Very good value for the money compared to local sit down pizza restaurants even had pasta and salad salads go for the lunch special. read more

11/08/25: First time visiting. We were in the area and we came across this pizza joint. We were greeted by Ona, and she was a great hostess. She went over the menu with us, and made us feel comfortable. She went to tend to other tables and checked on us to take our order. She made us feel comfortable and not rushed. Our pizza was prepared when ordered and it didn't take very long to come out. The pizza was hot and was really good. They have fountain drinks, but no alcoholic beverages. The restaurant was pretty clean and there was plenty of parking available. Family friendly environment. There were several TV's throughout the dining area. We placed an order for 3 mini pizzas and an order of wings for pickup. I arrived after the window of completion to allow time since it was after the lunch rush. I was told that my order was mistakenly given away to a door dash driver. She asked me to wait 15-20 minutes. When asked if the wings were included she informed me that they only had 3 wings but could throw in some cheesy bread and a couple of drinks. This was not a good experience for me as it was my first time visiting this establishment. Based on what I have received and what I encountered I will have to think really hard about returning. My pizza lacked flavor and some of the toppings were missing. My coworkers pizza was undercooked in the rush to complete during the mixup. read more

This place was definitely a hidden gem in Irving, Immediately upon walking in we were greeted, the server that helped us was super sweet, I wish I got her name so I could compliment her service directly, but she was amazing! the food did have a little bit of a wait time considering there was only 2 tables waiting for their food but nothing that extreme, and it ended up being worth the wait because it was delicious :) the Ambiance was nice, but quiet, and we enjoyed seeing the sports games on in the background. It's a medium sized store inside, but can seat a couple of large groups. The owners and servers were very friendly, and helped in ordering. We ordered the Wanted pizza, the Cubs pizza, pesto garlic bread, the wings, and the Chicago style hot dog. Hands down our favorites were the Wanted pizza and the Chicago dog. The wanted pizza had delicious, juicy bits of beef bacon and beef sausage that went well with the slightly sweet, slightly tart pineapple. Disclaimer though, the deep dish pizzas are thicker than your usual pizza, but not the pie-type heavy that you get in Chicago. The Chicago dog was also delicious. It was our first time trying a hot dog this way, and I loved all the toppings and the chips it came with. The Cubs pizza had some spice from the jalapeños, with bell peppers and fajita chicken. It tasted good, but I liked the meat options better. The pesto garlic bread is best eaten warm, and goes nice with the marinara sauce. The wings were kinda dry, but they did have some flavor. Overall, I'll definitely be back to try the pastas, another variety of pizza, and definitely to order the Chicago dog again. read more

This was a great pizza. I had the supreme deep dish and it was extremely good. The lunch special was the personal pan pizza, a salad, and the drink. I thought it was an amazing deal. I highly recommend this place. FYI, I have also ordered the hot dog, and it is a meal in itself. Quite tasty! Tastes right out of Chicago itself!
