Mom's Diner was a serendipitous find on a relaxed week-end away. The décor was fun, especially for my husband, who is a car buff. Bring your quarters for the functioning tableside juke boxes, filled with tunes from bygone eras. The food was delicious and set at excellent prices. We arrived just before closing, but the staff were gracious, kind and attentive, allowing us to stay until our meal was finished. I'm an Operating Partner of a Restaurant and I'll never go back to this place. I'm extremely upset. Here's a summary: -Terrible food safety(bare hands) -Awful customer service -Lack of respect for patrons My wife was reminiscing on the past of going into the diner as a child. We decided to go. Upon entering, we knew that the restaurant was going to be full with a local football game in town that night. The restaurant did eat full. However, there were only two servers on staff. We sat for 15 minutes before being greeted. Another 5 minutes, we received drinks. The food came relatively quick. But before that, kitchen members who were helping out, kept bringing other people's food to our table. How embarrassing! My wife, who has severe allergies, received her salad without any of the modifications she asked for. Numerous times we tried to catch the attention of the server-to no avail. So we told her when she brought the check. We thought it was neat to post a 15% and 20% guideline on the napkins. You can't even get an initial check back at this diner. Then the worst of the worst happened. While paying I noticed the cooks wearing ball shorts and sweaty shirts. A young guy took a bread stick from a bin and put on a salad without gloves, stepped up to take my cash, then went to grab another stick for a lasagna. All without washing!!! Avoid this place! Update: Four Months later I receive this message. "operating partner" I'm guessing that means you put a lot of foodservice hours in? I have no problem with a bad review things don't always go perfect but why you never asked to see the owner if everything was so bad. I'm sure you'd rather have a customer confront you with problems than trash your place on social media.....Please let me know what place you "operate" so i can come see what perfect looks like. FYI.. My t shirt isn't "sweaty" the kitchen is air conditioned...the breadsticks in the bin are uncooked and can be bare handed to be trayed and put in 550 degree oven and 2 waitress's is all i had believe me i'd work 5 if i could get them......finding fault is easy to do but make stuff up like"sweaty" is BS and wrong ,you added a little color to your complaint to make this place sound terrible and thats wrong....If your in the area stop in sometime and ask for Dave or lmk the name of restaurant you "operate" and I'll stop in to chat....take care Dave Wyse I stand by my review 100%. If I was allergic to so much an onion, I would have gotten sick due to the cross contamination provided by the lack of gloves and hand washing. As an owner, saying that you only have 2 servers and you wish you had more is a reflection on leadership. If people are leaving, it's leadership. If people aren't applying, its leadership. People will always apply and want to work for the best places out there. So I'm not sure what the problem is here. I didn't add a "little color" to my review. And it was terrible. read more

Went into diner, sat down. Waited 10 minutes, we're never acknowledged. Others came in after and were given menus. Orders taken. We couldn't even get the one and only waitresses attention. Obviously if You're not local Don't go there. We got up and left, no one noticed. read more

Came for birthday party....no outside food allowed..ie cupcakes, apparently someone spilled cupcake frosting on carpet and they had to replace, ever heard of Bissel? I usually don't post stuff like this but my family had a horrible experience here today. My grandma has taken my mom and kids and I out to eat here for years, and we have had large family get togethers here yearly like 20 plus people so have spent plenty of money here over the years and never had any problems always had great food no complaints and everyone was kind. The last time we were there maybe a month ago we had a different waiter one that we usually don't have and there wasn't really any problems just my moms taco salad the taco meat was ice cold and my mom asked if they could warm it up and didn't think it would be a big deal that's the first time we have ever said anything about an issue with the food ever and they offered to make her a new salad and everything seemed fine. Well today we walked in my grandma, mom, uncle, and my three kids and we sat down to order and the same waitress comes up and said that the manager wanted to speak with us at the counter. So we all walk back there and the two men behind the counter the manager and owner start being rude to my grandma and mom and told us that we're not welcome there anymore because the waitress complained about us and made up a lie saying that we never tipped her, my grandma has always left a generous tip and we have been nothing but kind and respectful there. They were yelling at them and treating them so poorly right in front of my kids and others there. Anyone who has met my grandma and mom knows how kind and wonderful they are and for them to be treated this way is completely unacceptable. I wouldn't even say anything if it had happened to just me but I'm not going to let this happen to them without saying anything. We were all in shock because we didn't do anything wrong. read more

Taco salad was fabulous! Burgers were to die for! Definitely worth the stop and friendly small town charm! Be sure to try the milkshake!

We stopped here after learning we were too late for a Sunday dinner at Sauder Village. We were NOT disappointed. The restaurant is very clean, service was great and we were pleasantly surprised by the homemade bread for sandwiches and pizzas as well as some homemade salad dressings. read more

The decor is great. Straight out of the 50's. We went on a Sunday afternoon after going to Sauter Village. The staff was polite and friendly. My husband and I both ordered the hamburgers. I had waffle fries and he had the onion rings. I should of ordered the onion rings. Not because the waffle fries were bad. But that the onion rings were delicious! Take out grinder sandwich was big but B_O_R_I_N_G! Definitely was filled up but on the bread with a bit of meat and cheese. It was supposed to have lettuce on it, but it didn't even have that. Paying extra to have tomatoes added is crazy. I will not go back as I could have gone to Subway, had the sandwich with all the fixings I wanted for 1/2 of the cost. We were driving on the freeway and decided to look on yelp to find a restaurant to eat at for lunch. This restaurant had really good reviews so we pulled over and tried it. We loved it! Had a bacon cheeseburger and onion rings and a strawberry shake. I'll give the shake about a 7. Pretty good, but not great. The burger, however, was very good. Bigger than I expected, and tasty. The staff was very attentive. They handled our unannounced party of 15 with energy and grace. read more

This place is just the worst. Visiting Archbold for the weekend. Stopped on here for dinner. Only 2 other tables occupied. Sat for 10 minutes without even being offered a menu. 2 families ( obviously locals) came in and were immediately given menus, drinks and orders taken. Reasonably priced and great service. Dined here this evening with 20 members of the Glass City Corvette Club and the accommodations were great. The interior is great. But the food is just average. Nothing special. The person I went with asked about a few of their items and the waitress let us know that all of their burgers are frozen, the same with their fries and many other items, so limited homemade items. This is a disappointment. Their reuben shouldnt even be called a reuben because it is made from steak and french dressing not corned beef and thousand island dressing. It was a very odd sandwich. The bacon ranch sub was drenched in ranch dressing I couldn't even taste the chicken or bacon. However the bread of the subs was amazing. read more

This is the one place I always have to stop at while I'm down this way. They have the absolute best grinders you'll ever have. It's a cute little diner that's decked out like it was from back in the day. The wait staff is impeccable and friendly. They have amazing milkshakes and their cheesy breadsticks are to die for. On Sunday's they have a buffet that has a variety to satisfy anyone's taste buds. The best part is that they have juke boxes in each booth that still work to this day. All you do is pick a song. Put a quarter in. Punch in the code and it'll play throughout the restaurant. I just put an order in a little after 4 and they just handed it to me 10 minutes later. Fast. Friendly. Variety. Food that tastes great. Cute. Affordable. Everything you could ask for in a diner. I love that there's a place like this still around. It's definitely worth going out of your way for. Best restaurant in town. They have a wide variety without it being overwhelming. Burgers and milkshakes are delicious as well as their subs, my favorite is the bristie. Good food, good service - EXCEPT for the owner. There was a car in the front of the restaurant that was shining a bright light into my eyes. I asked if the front window curtains could be closed just enough so I could see in my seat. The waitress obliged. Then I was told that they would be opening the curtain and if the bright light bothered me that I could MOVE. Yes, the customer was told that if something bothered them I COULD MOVE. This came from the waitress staff who told me the boss was having a bad day - WELL, let's not take it out on the customer. I'm not sure I'll be returning for awhile - too bad too, I liked the food, but was very disappointed with the BOSS treating me with such disrespect! read more
