EDIT: I need to write an edit to my review I did in 2019. Mostly the food portions, cleanliness and ambiance is the same. I understand prices going up and some small businesses are struggling and we try to support small businesses however a couple things really were a turn off today. Specials were listed on a board with no prices. When we asked the price we were told an approx price not individual prices. The waitress acted like it was a bother to go get us prices. And then my aunt only drank a couple sips on my ice tea and wanted to take it with us but not after being told a styrofoam cup would be $1 extra. The rude way the owner (we think he was the owner) handled it after she said she didn't want the cup and would leave the tea is why I am removing 2 stars. He did give her the cup that probably cost less than 25 cents, but she never asked for it for free. She just didn't want to pay the dollar so she wanted to leave it. She hadn't even got a refill on it. The man was just outright rude and went on to try justify his charge in a rude manner. Sir, we just didn't want it, it's ok, don't be mad at us that we didn't want to pay your fee. So you may want to ask how much your ToGo container cost. I did have to pay more for my pie to take it with us since I was too full to eat it there. Had I known I wouldn't have got it. I'm not complaining about paying for the container, which seemed unreasonable, just the rude way we were treated when we weren't even complaining. We used to stop here often while in town but now we have removed it from our fav places to go. There are plenty of other places to try in the Wauseon area.

Every time I am in Archbold for business I stop by for lunch. Great salads, sandwiches, soup and I hear the homemade pies are delicious. Perfect throwback diner!!

On a road trip between Cleveland and Chicago we were looking for a more local spot for lunch off the toll road than an oasis. This diner is a gem with enough charm to please my diner aficionado Dad. There were jukeboxes at every booth and video games from the 80s. Food was pretty decent including the homemade pie.

Great food, retro diner atmosphere, friendly service, homemade bread/buns. Just a great all around experience

Deluxe cheeseburger

Cassi was our server! GREAT JOB! The deluxe cheeseburger with fries plentiful and tasty. Chicken salad plenty of tomatoes and cheese but most of delicious. Chile was excellent just the right amount of spice. The environment reminds me of a 1950's . Exceptionally clean. This place is a must try! Loved it!

What a great place to stop in on a road trip! Awesome decor, service and food was excellent if going for lunch get there when it opens by the time we finished lunch there were no seats available! that's speaks a lot for a place! Had a great old fashioned Strawberry Milkshake to compliment my lunch, will definitely return and have already passed on to some friends.

A whole grinder

Back when I was little, my grandma would bring me here every summer for a girls day. This restaurant holds very near and dear to my heart because of the memories I have of coming here with my grandma. I can't say enough good about this place and will forever recommend it to everyone! The cheese breadsticks are BOMB. They have HUGE grinders that are to die for. Homemade pies that are fresh every week. The salads are great. The service is great. The atmosphere is perfect. Soooo good. Just try it for yourself!

Half a club with chips

I'm going to give their subs 5 Stars. The bread is made in house and it is excellent. I got the club (ham, turkey, crispy bacon and cheese) and it's served warm (meat and cheese are warm) but the lettuce and tomatoes are cold and crisp. The sub bun is not hard or soggy. You can order as a quarter, half, and whole. The subs are served with kettle chips with a seasoning salt. The half was about $6.50. The salads are large but just plain iceberg lettuce with a bunch of stuff in. It's too bad they don't at least add some romaine. The salad comes with a fresh homemade bread stick. They're also known for their milkshakes and homemade pie. They also make a very good pizza (crust is made in house). The decor is 50's with many signs on the wall. Old style booths and retro table and chairs are also part of the theme. Service is usually good.

After reading reviews on restaurants in the Archbold, Ohio area while visiting Sauder Village, my wife and I chose Mom's Diner for a "different" kind of place to eat with our cousins visiting from Germany. Wow, were we blown away by the authentic 50's style diner, the working jukeboxes at each table, and the quality and quantity of food. If you like a good, thick milkshake - you won't be disappointed! I had a fish sandwich served with a heap of fries and a Cookies and Cream milkshake and couldn't finish my meal - although I really wanted to! We all had a great time and our German cousins went back home with another story to share about their visit to America.

Go! Yum.

Well I figured we would go ahead and check if they were still serving. The owner told us to have a seat and he would feed us! There were only a couple others in the restaurant. We both ordered a salad and drinks, our server was prompt with both, pleasant and made us feel like we were with friends! The salads were great, 1st time we've ever seen grill top fried potatoes mixed in with our steak and chicken salad's! Seemed strange but we are now fans of that! You just don't expect this kind of service anymore which is a sad. We cannot give a higher recommendation to Ickey's than five stars and that is indeed a shame :) We do not make a habit of entering a business at closing time and do not recommend it, but this simply could not have been handled better by the owner and his staff!

Update to my below review!! The below review was prior to me realizing that I had forgotten my…read moredebit card at Sullivan's the next day. Unfortunately they were closed on Sunday so I had to call into my bank and cancel my card. While reviewing the transactions, I realized the amount they had authorized to my card was $10 more than our bill+tip. I used to be a server and worked at a bank so I know how authorizations work so I patiently waited until it cleared. My worst fears were confirmed! Not only did she not return my debit card after payment, apparently she was upset with her 12% tip and added a 1 to my tip to make it +$10! I called pretty upset on Monday afternoon and talked to a manager named Collin who seemed to not care about the issue. No apologies, only to promise to talk to the owner to see if they could do something for me since I lived out of state. I waited until Friday to call them back and was told by the hostess that Natalie would be calling me back later as she was on a call. She did call back about 1 1/2 hours later and said she had already refunded my card for the $10 and that she had looked at the receipt and it appeared I had issues writing with the pen so she could see how the server (Caitlyn) could have thought the tip was $16. 25! I let her know I had no issues with the pen and anything other than my 6.25 on the receipt was added by her server. I told her I was worried for all of the other tables where she had given bad service to and she had done the same thing. She said the server already gave the store back the $10 and apologized for the confusion. Sorry, there was no confusion here! I do truly appreciate Natalie with apologizing for the issue and refunding the money but I would never go to this place and if you do, I would make sure your server wasn't named Natalie. I changed my rating from a 4 to a 1 due to this fiasco. This one was hard to rate. Wish Yelp let me do somewhere around 3.5-3.8. What was good? We walked in and only had to wait about 10 minutes on a Saturday night the weekend of Mother's Day. Our server started off really bad. Didn't introduce herself and she started talking when we weren't even looking at her not realizing she had made it to the table. Her service didn't get much better from there. No mention of the specials. No offer of adult beverages. Bad. Just... What do you want to drink? I used to be a server so I know what they are told to do. We started off with cheese curds and they were pretty good. A little burnt tasting which it felt like was due to older oil that they were fried in. Other than that, they were pretty good. My wife got the Balsamic Chicken Breasts and she absolutely loved hers! She took half of it home so it felt like a pretty good value. I got the Sully Burger and had high hopes. It was good, don't get me wrong. But was it amazing? Nah. The burger was completely overdone and dry. Also didn't love the fried potatoes on it as much as I thought I would. Unfortunately, I was most excited about the horseradish sauce on the burger and it was non-existent. But... All this being said, it was a good burger. Not great. The ambiance of the place was pretty cool and we did really enjoy ourself. So.. I rated it on here at a 4 but probably not quite that good considering the horrible service. She also took forever to come check on us and bring us our check. Probably 20 minutes once we were done (and 20 min after we told her we were done!)
