I went cause I wanted to try their pizza and craving a Greek salad . The salad looked delicious except the top on container was not put on properly and it fell all over . The customer service needs work . I came in the door a woman will small children was asking about slices well they aren't making anymore today . I was going to get a couple slices just to try it out . I ended up spending more than I wanted on a pizza and they did make more slices I guess for special people . I guess I and that woman were not special enough when I finally got impatient waiting for my food I spoke up about the slices . Needless to say I was not happy and I have had better pizza . The salad was a waste of money on the ground . Not sure I want to deal with a business that has no regards for some of their customers. read more

Wednesday night is the family special and does what most businesses in the area just doesn't and that's care about the local families who can't afford the boogie prices or the $40 round table pizza. When they close they give away the leftover pizza too the don't just trash it like most places. The staff is usually younger men all working at a break neck pace to serve everyone quickly. A little kindness to them goes a long way. The place is loud and has seating booths along the wall and a couple tables outside. I don't have pics of my past pizzas from here cause they get eaten too fast. Next time I'll try to remember ;) Having eaten at all the mombos locations I can confidently say the Sebastopol one makes the best pies. read more

I've been going to this Mambo's location for decades. lol. It's not what it used to be. Not as clean as before the pandemic. Kind of messy in the back half. Not sure why but it's a bit off putting for me. If I hadn't known it before always pristine it might not bother me. The quality is less than it's been for decades and staff varies from very helpful to please go away. They used to offer to add toppings to a slice cheese pizza to make what you want. But not so much these days. The last time I was there a couple weeks ago the staff less friendly than I prefer. I'll go back most likely but may be awhile. read more

The pizza is NY style, crust is *awesome*! Sauce amazing and choices are a great variety. Staff is usually great and super accommodating. They have plenty of HUGE slices in the window and heat it up upon request. It's your basic pizzeria table vibe not like a sit down restaurant- more for a quick bite. They have rewards points also for regular customers which we LOVE. Let me just add their RANCH is to die for! They add dill to it for that amazing unique flavor. I was back and forth between 3 and 4 on this but talked myself into the 3 the more I thought. As a caveat, I ordered on a Friday night and it happened to be National Pizza Day, so they were very busy and I did do pick up. The good, the remodel looks great, the place is super clean and looks great. The service I received was also great. The Bad, I ordered ahead and was told 30-40 mins. when I showed up it wasn't ready and ended up being just over an hour from the original time I called. I get it, you're busy it's Friday, it's forgivable. When they handed me the pipping hot pizza straight out of the oven, they offered me cheese and peppers which I always accept, so they took a big handfull and shoved it between the lid and the top of the box. Unfortunately that little move let in a lot of cold air and in the 15 mins to get home. I would have never thought that would be an issue... but the more you know. Lastly, yes I have little ones, so i didn't get the most exciting pizza half cheese half Hawain. But boy I just found the taste boring. The dough was fine, it probably could have cooked longer, but not much flavor. There either wasnt enough sauce or the sauce had little flavor. I dont think I have ever put salt on a pizza but it did need the wake up. I am not saying I wont go back, I like supporting local business, and more and more local places are closing. Give it a shot, mistakes/misses happen. Even the best baseball players get out 7/10 at bats! read more

It's the second time we visit this Mombos and the guy working the cash register was very rude both times! He was rude and unkind. I thought the first time we went in that he was having a bad day, but this second time around he was also rude. What?? No review?? I've been coming here FOR-EVER! I just love the relaxed vibe of both locations. Never had an issues and pizza is exactly what I've come to expect. I haven't ever ordered a full pizza so I can't speak to that. I'm always happy choosing one of their slices. I like the thin, crispier crust and the topping choices are usually plentiful. If it has ricotta on it, my eyes immediately land on that option! My favorite is "mushroom cloud" but in its absence, the pesto ricotta comes in second for me. Their Caesar salad is, oof, delicious as well. I get the dressing on the side because it can be a bit much but the garlicy goodness adds a nice spicy touch to the otherwise simple salad. Happy to hear they're expanding to Healdsburg and I wish well in that location!! (I wish it was Windsor. LOL) read more

Hola fellow pizza lovers. While I have never hailed from NYC, this is some great thin crust pizza. I have been a customer of this Sebastopol location for about 15 years, although I moved to Solano County a decade ago. I always stop by for a slice when I'm in town, solo, on other business. I frequently visit on Tuesday's, for their special on a large, 18 inch pizza. Special varies from cheese $18, to five toppings, ~$24. Today, Wednesday October 23, 2024, to my pleasant surprise, I got the Wednesday Cheese special, $13.99. I hadn't realized this was offered as it isn't widely advertised, as far as I know, granted, I'm not on Facebook. I'll try to attach a picture of the receipt today. read more

Mother approved! My mom is super picky on the foods that I buy her and she seems to complain about everything! (Croissants are too burnt, Chinese food is too salty, pastries are not fresh enough, etc) She wanted CHEESE PIZZA so I automated thought of Mombo's of course. Best pizza in the north bay! Did a grubhub order and arrived in a hour. Fresh and still hot. She LOVED IT. She loved it so much she ate the whole pizza! I have ordered from Mombo's many times including for our 4th of July block party and it was a hit. Excellent quality and taste. I enjoyed their thin crust versus the super thick dough. Stop whatever you're doing and get your fanny over to Mombo's! In my opinion, one of the BEST PIZZA JOINTS on the California coast. Not only can you get pizza by the slice, but whole pies too. Took our son & future daughter in law there on Sunday night. It's a funky hole in the wall in a strip center, but it has seating inside and out. Pretty cool mural on the inside. These guys are always moving and making fresh pizzas for the constant stream of people coming thru! We also had very fresh large salads, dressing Snd amazing garlic bread! While I was a student at the Santa Rosa Junior college, I made my way to Mambo's SR across the street on a multi-weekly basis. I remembered their delicious fresh pizzas, and friendly people, and when we return to Sonoma County, I made sure to bring my better half to see how they have stood up to the test of time. I heard from the online blogs that the Santa Rosa location was temporarily closed, after the unfortunate passing of the owner, so we made our way to Sebastopol to give them a shot. On our first visit to the Sebastopol location, both of us got two pieces of pizza, and they told us that there was a lunch deal where you get two pieces and a soda so that's what we did. We got our pizza to the car and had anticipated taking it somewhere to eat it, but the smell was so amazing, we opened the box and ate it right there. I was thrilled to see that their food was still as fresh and flavorful as I had remembered. We returned today and were hesitant because the Yelp page said they were closed on Sundays and we tried to call them but nobody answered. We went anyway, hoping for pizza, and thankfully they were open! I got one piece of their pesto and one piece of their vegetable and added ricotta, and hubby got one piece of pepperoni and one piece of cheese (each piece was $6, but the pieces are HUGE). All the pizza I've had at Mambo's has been good but I've got to say, this vegetable pizza I had today took the cake (or in this case, the pie). It was generously topped with very high quality, flavorful, crisp vegetables, and the ricotta cheese really brought everything together. I felt like my eyes were rolling back in my head as I mentioned to my better half how good it was. I didn't even share, which is very unlike me. The only downside to getting pizza by the slice here is that they bake the pizzas ahead of time and then retoast them in the oven to melt the cheese. This is a great way for them to keep things fresh, however it does result in the crust being extremely crunchy, and to the point of it being almost like a cracker. I know that the way to get around this is to just order a whole pizza and have it fresh, but I can't shake the convenience of the pizza by the slice. The location of this Mambo's is excellent, right off the main drag and right next to a very popular market. Parking can be rough because there's so much going on in that parking lot, however I've never had an issue waiting more than about 5 minutes for a spot. The people that work there are fast and friendly, and the food is just as good as the Santa Rosa Mambo's, other than the crunchy / overly crispy crust edges. I will definitely be back, and probably to order fresh pizza and hope that the Santa Rosa location reopens as well. read more

Followed the reviews and it didn't disappoint! This pizza place is in a small shopping center with indoor and outdoor sitting. I loved that you can see them tossing the pizza. We ordered a good old pepperoni and it was so good! Everything about it was perfect! They also have pizza by the slice so I'm going to have to try something else next time I stop by. Good Pizza, New York in style, but just a bit away from an actual replica of what you'd get in NYC ( I lived there - the sauce is just a bit off and you need more bubbles in the crust ) but the quality and taste are good. The thin crust is thin and crispy - not soggy, bready, or oily. I'm taking them down a notch due to the inconsistent wait times. The last four times I've been, the ETA wait times have been off the mark by a lot. You get a notification it will be done in 20 minutes. I arrive 20 -25 minutes later, and they still need an extra 15-20 minutes. I'm fine with a 40 minute wait, just tell me its 40 minutes, not 20 minutes and then make me wait another 20. read more

There are few places that I give a place 5 stars, but I am still thinking about this pizza. Had been up at Armstrong Redwoods, needed dinner found this place after driving back to hotel. 1) They had gluten free pizza that didn't look or taste like cardboard, best gluten free pizza ever! 2) The slices are huge, very foldable like NY pizza should be 3) The crust was done perfect, a little bit of char, it was great. 4) Pepperoni slice was fantastic, I dream of this pizza slice. 5) They had a pizza came out and it was BBQ chicken, never had it before, now if I have it again, it won't be the same. read more

Mombo's is delicious! I love several of their combos particularly with ricotta. Pizza is closer to NY style and has a thinner crust. They sell pizza by the slice which is a great easy to-go option in town. Small seating areas both inside and out. My only complaint is that the pizza is always a longer wait than other spots in town and consistently late. So if they say 20min it will be 30. But overall a great local spot for a slice! read more

I'm a low carb guy but decided to have takeout pizza for New Years Eve to treat myself. I had to make the perfect selection because I haven't had a pizza in about two years. I read all the reviews for local parlors and looked at a lot of pictures. I decided on Mombo's in Sebastopol. I ordered using the simple online menu and ordered the Mombo Combo,with a little extra sauce. I arrived just as the pie was just coming out of the oven. Rushed home to enjoy my pizza, a few beers and movie on Netflix. The pie was nice and hot as I poured my beer and grabbed two slices and couched myself. I have got to say, this was one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted! I devoured the two slices and went back for two more. The sauce has just a bit of heat and perfect spices. The meats and veggies were spread out in sizable proportions and were fresh and delicious. I believe that I'm going to have to make some exception to my low carb life. Since 2020 has been such a little bi+@#, I guess a little cheat is just the perfect way to totally treat myself in 2021! read more

Dumbest thing I've heard , 3 people walked out never ordering because of it . I like to call in my order because they are so friendly and it's nice to hear a kind voice on the other end instead of just doing an online order. Local business! Mombo's is open as we they were in other recent disasters. Continues to produce good , tasty, healthy food. Thank staff for being gloved and masked. Pizza by the pie or slice pick your favorite slice. I like the combo slice. One slice usually does the trick and two is my max. When I walk in staff greet me with a hello and smile... and Karen called my by name. AND ... they offer a frequent customer card.
