I have tried several of their drinks. I have not come across one that I didn't like yet. They're the perfect balance of tea, milk, and sweetness. You can really taste the premium tea that they offer in their drinks. In addition, they have been continuously improving themselves every time. I've been here during the grand opening and every week after that. I have noticed how efficient the workers are. I noticed the improvement with getting the drinks in the customers hands. By far, Molly Tea has become my favorite tea store in the entire country! I know we're in the middle of a boba tea craze, but as someone who's not really into boba and prefers floral-flavored hot teas, Molly absolutely stole my heart. I went today with my husband, and from the moment we walked in, we were impressed. Molly Tea is chic, clean, elegant, and high quality in every way. The design, the vibe... everything feels thoughtfully curated. We stopped at the self-order screen and I was so happy to see oat milk as an option--a true vegan option, not just non-dairy (which can still include animal products like honey or dairy-derived additives). That alone is rare. But then... they offer HOT drinks too--which is a double win for me because most trendy places are all about iced teas only. I ordered a hot oat milk gardenia tea, and my husband had a hot oat milk jasmine tea, both with 0% sugar. He's diabetic, so finding spots that cater to sugar-free needs without sacrificing flavor is a big deal for us. Honestly, we weren't expecting much, but they blew us away. The drinks were truly sugar-free, hot, and had real floral flavors. It's the first time we've found a place that delivers this combination so perfectly. We ordered ahead on Fantuan Delivery for it to be ready when we arrived. The shop is still packed with a ton of people waiting for their order. The to-go orders are at the end of the counter and you need to make your way through a sea of people trying to get the attention of the staff working the counter. I'd recommend just trying to match the receipt for your order, as the staff isn't checking with the delivery drivers or customers unless you ask directly. The tea itself is pretty good, we ordered the Snowy Jasmine & Gardenia Milk Tea. If you aren't a fan of floral drinks, then the Gardenia Milk Tea probably isn't for you. I thought they were both good and it's definitely different than what you're used to with coffee shops or bubble tea stores. I'd give it a 5/5 if the staff was a little more aware of people waiting pick up their orders as it'd probably make it a better experience with creating more space for those waiting inside. As well as less pushing and bumping into each other by the counter, but I understand it's not easy with the amount of customers. read more

Molly Tea is definitely worth the hype. Their boba is not too sweet which is what I prefer. The tea itself is flavorful in which you really taste the jasmine tea. It's that perfect mix of drinking actual tea but getting a little sweetness like boba. The lines are crazy but the staff have it down working on all the orders. It helps that the ordering is through the kiosk which gives the staff full focus on making the drinks. Everything in the store is cute from the pink, blue, and green colors. It's very aesthetically pleasing. I only wish that there were more than one option for the boba. Other than that, definitely a good spot to go for some milk tea. I first visited Molly Tea in December 2025 when there were pink Christmas trees and lots of fairy lights. The interior of the store is always extremely cute and photogenic (as is the packaging of the drinks!), but it was especially lovely with all the decoration. Even better, the store was doing some sort of (holiday?) promotion where we received a free magnet of the Molly Tea mascot as one of the Myers-Briggs personality types. The free magnet was of course random, so now I have a magnet of a Myers-Briggs type on my fridge that is certainly not mine, but it's cute, so who cares? Since December, I've been back here about three or four times and would go much more frequently if the store was closer. The drinks are always very tasty. You can adjust the sweetness in many different intervals, which I like because many boba places I've visited only offer "normal/less/no sweetness." At Molly Tea, you can decide exactly how much less! I like their drinks warm best, but they taste great iced too. My favorites are the seasonal ones, but friends I've gone with who ordered from the standard menu all enjoyed their drinks too. The only downside of this location is that the seats are quite limited, and there is no bathroom. It's more of a "get tea to go" type place than a "sit and chat over tea" type place. This is a shame, because the store is so cute (and clean!) that you want to stay and enjoy your drink in that atmosphere. Maybe one day they'll expand or open a more sit-down oriented location. I braved the subzero weather to check out Molly Tea after the weekend opening rush. There was a couple of people in line but I was able to place my order pretty fast. They are currently running a promotion with a scratch off for future use. There was a small seating area and the store is bright and clean. I ordered the Snowy Jasmine which is a green tea with fresh milk and a jasmine whipped cream along with the DanCong Oolong Milk Tea. Since I am double fisting, I was only able to try the Snowy Jasmine at the time of the review. The tea was fragrant and sweet and the jasmine whipped cream was light and fluffy. I really enjoyed it especially the sweet nuts on top. Aesthetically the drinks are everything. These cups are gorgeous. I really like that the oolong milk tea was double sealed so definitely no potential spilling accidents. I never really liked matcha until I tried the jasmine matcha from Molly Tea. It has a strong tea flavor, the foam is AMAZING, and the sweetness is JUST RIGHT. I don't like things too sweet, so this drink is perfect. My friends and I go here whenever we're in Chinatown, and it's the best matcha we've had in the Chicago-land area thus far. It is a bit expensive (~$8), but I feel like it's a pretty average price for matcha nowadays. Anyways, I'm addicted and keep going back. Current go-to orders are the white champaca oolong (nice floral oolong), and their signature jasmine. This is the one place where I don't add boba or any toppings since I just want to enjoy the flavor of the tea. This place is always quite packed. Save yourself time waiting to order by scanning their QR code and just doing the same thing as the kiosk on your phone. Generally drinks come out pretty fast, within 5ish minutes. They are pricy, and a regular size milk tea will set you back ~$8 Hopefully a Chagee will come to Chicago and prices can go down... Other nits are that the cups they give out, while beautiful, involve a lot of packaging, including a layer of plastic at the top that can surprise new drinkers. The drinks are great! But the service is not. Granted its a busy place with lots of people. They have a monitor that displays whose order is being serviced, what they don't tell you is that it doesn't display EVERY order. Weird right? I wouldn't have known this until I went up to the counter because my order number disappeared. The layout of the space is also not its best. I kind of wished it was more like some of the Starbucks I go to where you go towards the back of the room to order, and wait to pickup in the front.
