Black Sugar Boba + Pearl Coffee Latte
    Stephanie B.

This is the best boba I've had! You can order at the counter or at one of the 3 kiosks they have. Service is quick. The drinks come with a sealed top that you poke the straw through. The flavor is amazing, but not too sweet. I like the contrast between the boba and tapioca pearls. You can have both in your drink or either separately. It is visually appealing. It may be a tad pricey, but worth it for a special treat!

Gave me a broken mango ice cream and would not replace . Can't comment on service because it's all Digital Touch screen. Drinks were fine but really it's China town, go anywhere else.

This was my second time stopping into Tiger Sugar. I had dropped by Chinatown to grab a couple of gachas for Christmas and all of the great smells wafting around must have got to me because I found myself really hungry. That's when I remembered that I had been wanting to go back to Tiger Sugar because that first time I only got boba. I enjoyed the drink a lot but was bummed that I didn't have the appetite for one of their cutlets during that first visit so I was looking forward to finally getting to try the huge fried chicken that continually to popped up in my feed the past couple of months. So this time around I ordered the Sweet Chili Cutlet, Fries and Drink combo with an iced black sugar boba and pearl coffee latte with cream mousse. The combo is on the expensive side at $22 but the proportions are decent. If anything I was wishing the boba was bigger. The drink was great once again and exactly what I look for in a sugar and coffee bubble tea. I was kind of torn on the cutlet though. While I appreciated the size and amount of meat it had I felt that the breading was kind of lackluster in some bites and I think I would have preferred to just have the chili sauce on the side as opposed to slathered all over. I think the chicken was definitely worth a try just to satisfy my curiosity but I do wish it had left more of an impression as far as seasoning goes. The staff are courteous but mostly focused on getting the orders out which is fine because they have multiple kiosks which make ordering pretty easy. The interior is actually pretty nice but was not exactly inviting this time around. Maybe it's better in the hot months but it definitely had grab and go vibe with all the empty space. I will definitely be back for the boba but I'll probably check out other places before I make Tiger Sugar my chicken cutlet destination.

This is a small shop, where most of the folks were having bubble tea and chicken cutlet. Both looked delicious. But I went for a couple of pastries. All pastries I had was really good. A chocolate bar with fruits on the top was my favorite.

Quick and good tiger sugar flavor. Store is clean and can be busy depending on time of day. The boba is cooked very well.

Got the Black Sugar + Red Bean Latte. Tasted really good, and price is reasonable compared to other boba places.

Very small place, 3 self checkout screens, its a combined shop with chunky boss. Order was fast, under 10min Its okay

Tiger Sugar is one of the most consistent boba chains that I have tried around the country. They are famous for their brown sugar syrup that is added into their most popular drinks, and for good reason. You place your order at the kiosk in front and wait for your number to be called. This location offers soy milk as a non-dairy alternative, which is great. Not all TS locations do this so I can verify that this is one of the good ones. My drink was made well and just as expected. I asked for 1/2 sugar since the syrup is already very sweet, and that is truly a good call to make. Order modifications can be tricky on the kiosk. They allow you to enter a note (such as me requesting to swap out a jelly for boba in one of our drinks), but may ask to clarify with you before making the drink.

First time trying Tiger Sugar! They have two kiosks at the register area for self-ordering. They were super busy when we were there on Saturday night, so the line took a while. But once at the kiosk, ordering is easy and fast. A bunch of my friends are lactose intolerant, so they appreciated the free alternative milk option. There are a few tables within the store, but when the line gets long the place feels very crowded. The drinks are all really good! I tried the mango sago, which was loaded and delicious! It was a bit pricey, but it also comes in a default large size. I would definitely come back to try other drinks.

The drinks were amazing. Three of us enjoyed all of our drinks. There is a slight wait but it was worth it.

Tiger sugar in Chinatown caught my eye when we were walking with the vibrant decorations. The place was very clean and it made me want to visit. We tired the boba which was amazing and also loved their collab with chunk boss chicken! We tried the family pack, the fries were a 10/10!! Loved adding spice to the chicken as well. I can't wait to go back!

As a first timer, I was annoyed by how disorganized this place was. Customers were standing line waiting to order or wait for their drinks? Who knows? People told me just to order at one of the 2 kiosks. I wanted the hello kitty cup, how do I order that online? So I asked one of the servers behind the counter. She said all drinks come in a normal cup but it's all hello kitty. You can order a special hello kitty cup for $5. Then how you do order the hello kitty plushy cup holder? Well that you have to order at the counter separately and can't order at the kiosk. Everything was just so confusing. But overall I thought the hello kitty concept was super cute. As for the drink I got the taro w taro pudding and boba. I wasn't crazy about the drink. But did like the boba. If it wasn't for the hello kitty not sure I would go back.

I got their unique ice cream that look like and taste like a mango I also tired their deep fried mochi balls

The order dashboard, the takeout bags, the efficiency, the consistency of mask wearing reminds me of the coffee/tea chains in mainland. Wow, I'm just so surprised to see it here. The shop is small but still had a lot of people. What's crazy was that the queue is so long from online orders. The efficiency is just like China tho, the queue moved quickly. The options and customization is so detailed. Honestly had no idea what I would start with, but the "popular" tags sort of helped me decide. I got a premium Jasmine milk tea hot with lowest sugar, tongmu lapsang salted cheese milk tea hot with lowest sugar, and pistachio jasmine coconut iced with lowest sugar. All of which had really good and strong tea flavor. The jasmine was the most noticeable, a bit more than I'm used to but really good. All of the drinks were good but not as creamy or thick or heavy as other places-- this is probably both a pro and con depending on how you like it. I didn't like the salted cap, not sure why it's green and tasted like matcha, shouldn't it be for the tongmu lapsang? Perhaps I should order it inside and have them put the cap in the drink. Overall, really happy with the flavors. I would definitely try out some of their other ones in the future. So glad to this Shenzhen chain having a location in Chicago.

I initially attempted to order at the kiosk, only to discover doing so comes with a 3% fee vs. ordering with a human. It's not about the nickels, it's the principle of the thing! I instead placed my order with the clerk - less ice, less sweet. Though it wasn't very busy at the time, the drink came out relatively fast. The service overall was friendly, too! Now, about this beverage... if I'd asked for a "surprise me," I'd be happier. This is because on its own, it was respectable and unique in its custard-like consistency. However, given that I'd ordered a milk tea, where neither the appropriate consistency nor tea notes made an appearance, my happiness and satisfaction levels go down. To give some credit, the beverage I received wasn't too sweet, and had a slight velvety mouthfeel. It was unique and interesting, unlike anything I had ever had before. Final verdict: there is no shortage of boba tea shops around, especially in Chinatown. If you're going to do something different, power to you. We were lucky that this was located in that Chinatown mall because we got parking and we're able to walk directly up here. When I got here, there was no line there was one other patron waiting for her order. There are a couple screens where you put your order in and then they text you because they ask you for your phone number once your order is ready then you pick it up right on the left-hand side of where they're actually is a register. The one girl who was working here that day was very nice and friendly, but I don't think she totally understood me as I was trying to explain the benefits of leaving tip in cash versus tip on the card at the kiosk where you put your order in. We did order two drinks and both drinks are absolutely delicious. However the Taro milk Boba tea was a little bit chewy. You could obviously customize your toppings, the sugar amount, the iced amount, etc. that sounds pretty standard. The flavors were delicious and super fresh so frankly, if this came out of a can or out of powder, it definitely didn't taste like it. Really top quality and great taste for the price. I believe each drink was $6.25 which puts it right at par with a lot of its competitors in Chinatown. Also, if you order some of the unique drinks that come in a unique square cup, believe it or not. The location is completely decked out in their pink. It's very cute and I assume was really put together for the purpose of social media pictures as you can see from the pictures I took. I would definitely come back here again as it is unique however, a lot of the menu is pretty similar across the Boba competitors located in this exact same mall as well.
