Clean, pretty, nice freshly brewed tea and charge of bubbles or crystals are slightly cheaper than other places ... tasted good.. can ask for less sugar .., nice seating even if it's small ... inside 88 market so nice to shop after or before tea. Inside is a nice ambience. It was also warm w heat blasting bc it's still cold outside in Chicago like 35 degrees F. So it was cozy. Recommend Pure Tea. This place is pretty, warm, has inside seating, is inside the mall in 88 market. It's decorated nicely. The teas are well priced in that they are not overpriced. They make the teas fresh. It's a $0.65 cent up charge for bubbles. So it's very reasonable. Enjoyed the tea here and will return.

Perfect texture on the pearls. Strong tea flavor that tastes authentic. It feels like a quaint bubble tea store, despite being one of the newer ones. Also, I can't forget to add that their choice of music is spot on, 10/10. While ordering and waiting for my drink, I heard three different Twice songs.
Pure Tea can be found inside the new 88 Marketplace that opened up in the Chinatown area - you make your way up the stairs to your left, and it's to your right. Their menu offers fresh milk and class milk teas, fresh brew teas, fruit teas, matcha, espresso coffee, and smoothies. You can also add various toppings, such as tapioca pearls, lychee jelly, grass jelly, tapioca sago, red beans, crystal boba, and/or cheese mousse. I loved their cute drawings on their menu! I had the Kumquat Lemon Green Tea, with light ice, 100% sweetness, with no toppings - there was confusion of the requested sweetness level, which they were able remediate quickly. The drink did have more ice than I expected, but the tea was prepared well - it was steeped well, and it had a nice citrus-y taste from the kumquat and the lemon. Very refreshing! Staff were efficient. The place could be cooled better, as it was a little musty and humid. There are only a handful of counter seating, but this place is more of a to-go set-up. I like to make a stop here occasionally when I grocery shop upstairs in the marketplace and so far, all of the drinks that I've gotten have been good! The service is fairly quick, although not the friendliest compared to other boba spots. My favorite is the lychee smoothie with lychee jelly - so refreshing!
I ordered brown sugar milk tea and it's oh so perfect for me! Service is fast and efficient. Staff needs to smile a lil bit to lighten the mood. I hope they can open or open for franchise in suburb area
Good service, plenty of variety of drinks. It's a small place so when it's busy there's a hard place to find to stand and wait for your drink.
This is a convenient Asian teahouse and dessert place located in the lower level of the 88 Marketplace mall. It's a great location for this growingly busy place, and they have a pretty big beverage menu. We had a fresh egg puff waffle and a couple of refreshing Osmanthus milk teas on this stop. I ding'ed them a star only because their A/C wasn't working on a hot and humid morning, but the rest of the lower level of the mall was fine.
I've been here so many times since they opened, I can't keep count anymore (some pics are blurry cus they are screenshots from videos). Their drinks are LEGIT! I have tried their hot drinks, their cold drinks, teas, smoothies, etc., but my favorite of them all is the Osmanthus Fresh Milk Tea with Cheese Mousse. It is perfection. If you like your milk tea to be slightly floral, not too sweet/heavy, and/ or fragrant, please give this one a try. In my opinion, the cheese mousse adds so much more flavor to the drink too. If you're on the fence about "cheese mousse" it just tastes similar to salted caramel, but more creamy. All their other drinks are pretty solid too. They use real ingredients and not packets/ powder like some other places. I would say their smoothies are artificial flavoring though, so if you want fresh fruit smoothies, go somewhere else. However, if you're looking for something quick, yet deliciously refreshing, Pure Tea's the spot to hit up! P.S. They have a free parking lot, a Chinese marketplace, and a food court on the upper level of the same building.

It's meant for a take out experience with minimal bar seating across the large window. I can't help but order their drinks with brown rice or buckwheat bc it's not as common at other places. You can order drinks hot or cold! Prices are comparable to other boba shops though they have a 3% credit card fee if your order is under $10 (which would require ordering at least two items)! It's a small location so not really a hang out spot but convenient if you're just trying to grab and go since there's a parking lot or you can shop at 88 Marketplace while you're there or get a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants.

One of the best new boba shops to open up in the last year. It's located on the first floor of 88 Marketplace, a two-story Chinese supermarket. Drinks: so many great flavors ranging from milk teas to fruit teas as well as coffee drinks. The dongding oolong milk tea is wonderful and sometimes they run out later in the day. Try one of their specialty teas, like the grape green tea with cheese foam (it's a unique but delicious combination). The brown sugar boba tea is another classic. Parking: plentiful. There's a free parking lot for the grocery store. Atmosphere: dark wood, minimalist, and clean. Great atmosphere for a drink shop. There are also cute pins for sale (including a Boba-saur--adorable!). Service: when it's busy, it can take a while (~10 mins), but the baristas are happy to help you.
We stopped by for a little pick me up! I ordered a matcha milk tea. I didn't like the red beans that came with it so I only drank half of it. My friend got a black fresh milk tea. There were so many options, it was hard to decide! The service was fast and it looks like they get pretty decent business there in the shopping mall. read more
A cozy spot inside the 88 marketplace. There's a bunch of free parking in the area. Stopped in on a Friday and there was a handful of people inside already. We ordered and the drinks came out pretty quickly. I appreciate that you can adjust the sweetness and ice level, so my drink was perfect. We were able to sit and chat there, while people watching. You can also explore other stores while you are there. Will be recommending this spot to other friends! read more

We enjoyed the Taiwan Black Tea with red beans and cheese top here. We got 25% sugar and less ice and it was perfect. The drink was milky and we could still taste the nice tea flavor. Also, the two ladies who worked there were super nice. Overall, it's a good boba place to stop by when you are in the market. read more

I ordered oolong boba and liked it. The tea flavor was significant, well balanced with whole milk. I also like that they offer three size options for most of their milk teas. We got Jasmine and DongDing Oolong milk teas. We liked the tea flavor and balance with creaminess. We would lower sugar to 75% next time. I haven't tried boba yet but a friend said the quality was not good. Definitely willing to try other drinks next time and maybe boba. Good first impression. I was looking for boba and some snacks, and found this 88 Market on Yelp. Pure Tea is on the first floor of the market. There is a good variety of drinks, and also different flavors of egg waffles on the menu. I tried the Osmanthus Fresh Milk Tea with cheese foam. It has a very strong osmanthus flavor, and I don't think the drink needs the cheese foam (additional $1). My group like the Taro Fresh Milk with Sago, Oreo Crunch Smoothie and Americano they got also. read more
This is a tiny shop located inside 88 Marketplace. Came to explore the marketplace and stumbled across this new bubble tea place (opened two weeks ago!) I ordered a black fresh milk tea with tapioca, always starting with the basics for comparison. My first sip was amazing (a great start). It's a good place for people who like a stronger tea flavor in their bubble tea. The tapioca balls were really good and very sweet. The milk tea itself didn't seem to be sweet by itself without the tapioca though, but the sweetness of the tapioca was good enough for me. Only downside to the drink (I guess I'd give it a 4.5 stars if I could for the drink itself, but everything else here rounds it up) was that it started tasting a bit watered down halfway through my drink. It's more tea flavored, less creamy (which I like, but maybe could have used a little more milky sugary flavor). Could have been due to my ice melting after a while though, so understandable. Staff was super nice and friendly. Answered all my questions with patience. The place is small (only space to order to go), but the decor is modern (they even have some Instagram photo spots). read more

This is a very cute little tea/coffee shop playing some upbeat Asian pop music. I went around 5pm and it was packed inside with people waiting for their order. Payment is all contactless but they do charge extra if you pay by credit card. They also sell waffle desserts in addition to a large variety of drinks. Their menu is a bit overwhelming at first so I went with a classic: the oolong bubble milk tea with 50% sugar. My drink was just the perfect amount of sweetness for me. The tea flavor was very strong and fragrant. The pearls were chewy and fresh. I have nothing but good things to say about this drink and will most definitely return to try others. The only reason I'm docking a star is because they seem to be short staffed. There were 3 people total running the shop and the cashier had to help make drinks while juggling taking customer orders. I understand that they make their drinks to order, but I waited 20 minutes for one drink, which is more than I'm willing to wait. I would recommend doing some grocery shopping in the supermarket upstairs after placing your order and then picking up your drink after your shipping is done. read more
Cute little boba spot found inside the 88 marketplace. I got a large brown sugar milk tea. I want to note that if you want milk tea the only size available is large and it comes with tapioca pearls (no additional charge). The milk tea was one of the best I've tasted. It's super creamy and not overly sweet. I believe you can also adjust ice and sweetness level, but I just got mine standard. read more

Highly recommend their fruit teas for something that's light and refreshing. Great tea flavor. I got the honey lemon green tea with 50% sweetness and ice and it was perfect. I really appreciated the design and efficiency of the cups, comes with a red stopper that you can store and clicks onto the lid! The stopper was also totally seal proof over the drinking spout. Definitely my go to place now for fruit tea when in Chicago. read more
I had to take a photo before mixing it all up! I got the black fresh milk tea. Easily customizable with ice and sugar levels (even though they don't mention it). Bobas are an added charge but worth it! They were saturated in honey and I loved every bite! Bring cash to avoid a 3% debit fee. read more
Super authentic milk tea. You can tell from the moment you walk through the door. I tried my friend's fruit tea, and it was also equally as good. I love how it's located right next to a hot pot place, so you can go grab dessert right after a full meal. Their tapioca pearls are cooked really well. I came to try this after going to hotpot next door, and the shop was very cute! Unfortunately, I didn't like my drink at all. I ordered the honey lemon green tea 50% sugar with lychee jelly. It didn't take long for my order to come out, but it was much too sweet. It almost feels like they went above 100% sugar. Also, the green tea was grainy, and my mouth felt dry afterwards. read more
Honestly with all the bubble tea options in the Chinatown area, I was really looking forward to liking this place. I noticed it because it's downstairs from 88 MarketPlace. I got the Black & White Sesame Egg Waffle and the Taro Fresh Milk w/ Sago drink. Both tasted ok. The egg waffle was crispy and tasted fine but at $7.50 a waffle I expected more sesame flavor. The Taro Fresh Milk w/ Sago drink also lacked flavor. I mixed it thoroughly before I had a sip and I barely tasted the taro flavor. I mostly tasted the milk instead. Checked it out since it's a newly opened place. There was a short line when I went on a Saturday evening but looked like many people were checking out this new business. I forgot to customize the sugar level with the brown sugar so it was a bit too sweet, but the mango drink was good. read more
