Molasses Junction Country Store is the kind of place you have to be looking for to find. Legend has it that someone's great great grandfather was loading barrels of molasses on a train and the barrels started rolling and busted open when they hit the ground causing quite the spill so I'm gonna go with that one, besides it makes sense being sugar cane was grown in abundance around these parts back then - today it looks like corn and potatoes are the money crops.
I stopped in here today because I can't resist going out of my way when "Country" and "Store" are used together in the name of a business so I try and check it out if I'm anywhere near. so after driving about 20 miles out of my way I arrived. "Go down the center split the ring, Lady go gee and gent go haw, Push your pa and shove your ma. And that couple swing in the center of the ring, Swing to the side with the dear wee thing".
"Now the same old gent and a brand new date, Go down the center and through the gate, Gee and haw, shove ma and pa. Swing right here and swing right there, Swing right out complete the square".
I'm sure you get my point and now you know why I like these kind of places, as time passes these treasures are being lost, there seems to be no strangers inside these wall and that's the value here... read more
