We recently purchased an older home and completed major interior renovations in 2019. After completing the interior work, we knew that we needed to replace the old roof to protect all the work completed inside. We got quotes from four reputable roofing companies in addition to Modern Roofing. Through Lowes, Modern Roofing provided the most accurate estimate with the best pricing. The entire back side of our roof required decking and the other four companies provided estimates with only a few sheets of decking. Any experienced roof estimator can clearly see that the backside of the roof required decking...to be accurate about 14 sheets of 4ft x 8th decking. Initially, the other four roofing company estimates were in the ballpark plus minus $1500 dollars. But it was only Modern Roofing's estimate that was in the middle of group that included all the required decking. The other "so called" reputable roofing companies estimate would have jumped thousands of dollars more during the removal process due to the need for more decking. If we had started with any of the other companies, we would have been stuck at a much higher price to finish the job (bait and switch). It was clear that the accurate and honest estimate from Modern Roofing was the company to go with...without a doubt. Fast forward two years later...12/31/22 (New Year's Eve) and we discovered a few leaks from the rains due to a manufacturers design flaw and our Lowes rep ordering the wrong size ridge caps (should have been 10-inch ridge caps not 8 inch). We contacted Lowes and they recommend we contact the company that installed our new roof which was Modern Roofing. Many companies talk about service and support after the sales but rarely do companies follow through. We contacted Modern Roofing New Year's Eve and their Management Team responded to us on a major holiday weekend and assured us that someone will be out to inspect our roof. After being in contact with Modern Roofing we felt rest assured during this stressful time. As promised on the following business day (1/2/23) a roof technician arrived to inspect the roof and also provided a temporary solution (which worked) to prevent further damage. As soon as there was a break in the weather with no rain (3 days later), the Modern Roofing team immediately returned to fix the issues and completed the permeant repairs. We have been truly blessed to have Modern Roofing replace our entire roof and the provide the amazing after service and support. We haven't been paid a single dime, as a matter of fact not even a single penny for this review. We are just compelled to share our amazing first class experience we have had with Modern Roofing and their Management Team. Accurate and honest estimates, great work, amazing service and support post sale and installation. They are FIRST CLASS all the way. You can't go wrong with TRUSTING...Modern Roofing. Dr. H. Modern Roofing is extremely professional and -- most importantly -- stands behind its work. I was extremely impressed with this company and give them my absolute highest recommendation. As a home-owner, I've found that most home improvements look and work great right after we install them. But what happens 10 or 15 years down the road? Most people don't update their reviews, so it's hard to know. So, I actually know with Modern Roofing, so I want to share my experience with the Yelp community so I can help other home-owners who are considering who to hire for this important job. I have the good fortune to have installed my roof with Modern Roofing 12 YEARS AGO. This winter, Los Angeles had unprecedented heavy rainfall -- and we have a complicated roof line on our house that includes dormers -- and the roof around the dormers leaked. I called Modern Roofing and the very helpful, caring, and responsive office manager Ana answered the phone and said it was good I called because my roof was still under warranty, and she was happy she would be able to help me. WOW, that's customer service. They promptly came out to take care of me. They sent an exceptionally nice and skilled roofer/project manager named Robert Arguello. Because the issue couldn't be successfully patched, he replaced the entire side of the roof with the dormers with a brand new roof. WOW, that's standing behind your work! Robert and his team were very professional and Robert took the time to explain to me what he was doing. They also cleaned up after themselves and left my yard spotless. In addition, we had some water that found its way into our house from the leak and Modern Roofing even repaired all the interior damage as well. WOW, this is an upstanding, honorable company! Many contractors would have figured out a slimy excuse to not stand behind their work, or just not returned my calls, or not even been in business after 12 years. But Modern Roofing is a solid, family owned company that has been in business for 20 years and will stand the test of time because it does right by its customers. This is how all contractors should act, but only the best, most honorable actually do. Do yourself a favor and hire Modern Roofing to install your new roof. You will be happy you did -- even many years down the road! read more

I recently hired Modern Roofing, Inc. to reset the tiles on my roof, and the experience has been nothing short of disappointing. What began with a promising sales process quickly deteriorated into a series of failures and frustrations. During the initial consultation, Eric T. spent considerable time explaining every step of the project, which was thorough and professional. I specifically discussed my specialty solar installation by Green Convergence, which featured panels installed over felt shingles at the same level as the clay tiles - a setup that prevented birds from nesting and drew compliments from neighbors. Eric assured me they could reset everything exactly as it existed. This promise proved entirely false. After two failed attempts, multiple sections of my solar panels are now positioned above the tiles, misaligned, and sitting at various angles. Even worse, birds have already begun nesting in areas where they couldn't access before - the very problem my original installation had solved. Communication throughout the project was abysmal. Eric T., the project manager, would disappear for days at a time, leaving me completely in the dark about progress or delays. The workmanship displayed by their crew showed a complete lack of pride or attention to detail. Glaring errors were made throughout the installation, and they consistently left messes behind: nails, copper wire, chunks of broken cement, tools, solar rack brackets, pieces of wood, and trash from lunch. Perhaps most frustrating was the total absence of oversight - no one from management ever inspected the work, so problems were never identified or addressed. I strongly advise anyone looking for professional roofing work to stay away from Modern Roofing, Inc., especially if you were impacted by the fires and already have enough stress. Their inability to deliver on promises, poor communication, and substandard workmanship make them a company to avoid. read more

As a project manager, Grant exemplified professionalism, efficiency, and expertise throughout the entire process of replacing my shingle roof. From our initial consultation to the final inspection, Grant ensured that every aspect of the project was handled with care and precision. He took the time to thoroughly assess my roof's needs and provide me with a detailed plan of action, putting my mind at ease from the start. From the initial consultation to the final inspection, Andrew was absolutely professional. He treated our property with respect and ensured all communication was clear, courteous, and timely. We recently had a full roof replacement completed, and Project Manager Michael made the entire experience seamless and rewarding. One of the most impressive aspects of working with Michael was his reliability and presence. I had an excellent experience with Modern Roofing from start to finish for my roof replacement. The entire process was organized, professional, and efficient, and the quality of the work was exceptional. A major reason I decided to go with Modern Roofing was my personal experience with their project manager, Emin. He was extremely helpful, trustworthy, and went above and beyond to truly help me throughout the process. Sometimes, one person's professionalism and the way they represent a company can make all the difference, and that was definitely the case with Emin. His honesty, communication, and willingness to help gave me the confidence to choose Modern Roofing over other companies I was considering. Everything that was discussed, promised, and agreed upon was followed through in regards to the construction phase. The workers were respectful, professional, and worked efficiently. They also made sure everything was cleaned up very well before leaving each day, which I really appreciated. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience with Modern Roofing. They delivered on their promises, maintained a high level of professionalism, and made what could have been a stressful project feel much easier. I would definitely recommend Modern Roofing, and especially Emin, to anyone looking for a roofing company they can trust. read more

No one likes replacing their entire roof. But, our roof was 30 years old, and our insurer required us to replace it. Among other roofing companies, we called Modern Roofing for a quote. They earned our business and did not disappoint. Indeed, they exceeded our expectations from the get-go. From the first call onward, everyone we dealt with was professional and kind -- and this was the case at every stage of the process. Nick came to do our estimate, and was with us every step of the way. His diligence, commanding knowledge of all aspects of the process, and kind and cooperative nature remained from the beginning to the very end. He was proactive throughout the process, and if he was at another site, he was always responsive to questions. We had needed more insullation in our attic for years, and we added that to our service, as well. That was completed with the same efficiency and care as the roof itself. The workers who took cate of every phase were extremely efficient and clearly experienced. The house was done in less than a week, and passed all phases of city inspection. The roof looks great. We are grateful to Nick and his crew, and to Modern Roofing as a whole. No one wants to replace a roof, but we could not have asked for a better experience, and recommend Modern Roofing unreservedly, and enthusiatically. read more

Excellent from start to finish. Arman M was our salesman/project manager and was in touch either in person or by phone every day of the project. The projected start of our project was pushed back three days due to rain, and Arman was very concerned about any possible (probable) leaks. He had one of his workers come out and plastic the roof before any of the rain started. We also have 18 solar panels that had to be removed and then replaced. Once the crew started, the work removing the solar panels and then on our roof was done in one day as there was more rain coming and the crew wanted to be done with as much as possible. They worked a 10 1/2 hour shift. These workers are tip top! The roof came through its first rain storm with flying colors! The replacement of the solar panels took about five hours, with Oscar at the helm. He was very thorough when removing the panels, making sure to keep track of measurements along the way, which made it easier for the reinstall. The worst part about the solar replacement was reconnecting it to our monitoring system, but Oscar stood with us until it was all done. This was a really great experience. Modern had the best pricing, best project manager with Arman, and super-duper roofing crew. Thank you, everyone at Modern! read more

I am confident recommending Modern Roofing aka Modern Home Improvements to anyone who needs a new roof Installation. They are a preferred installer for Owens and Corning Duration shingle. My experience from consultation visit to completion of install has been such a pleasure to work with Dion B. His presentation to show me their company profile, physical materials quality, and his willingness to work with me to ensure all my needs are met with extra services to give me a fair price. Because of that, he sold me on my decision to hire Modern Home Improvements. He is busy with multiple (15) projects at one time and he manages to make an effort to encourage open communication and update me on the process. The finish work is fantastic. As unforeseen things come up, he comped me for additional work to include onto my project. I did not feel like I was being nickel and dime for extra charges by Dion B on my project, which he already gave me a fair bargain price. Loved that the manufacturer and their company service comes with 50-year warranty. It was a no brainer to hire Modern Roofing/Dion B. to project manage my roofing install. Super satisfied with my decision. read more

Lets face the truth ladies and gentlemen. There is a reason why they are still in business and that is because overall they do a good job. I decided to go with this company because i am a person who believes that everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. I read reviews given to this company on various websites, like angies list, here, and many others. I can tell you that this company has had one of the highest ratings of great work done. As a co-owner of a business myself i can say that some people will come accross negative people from the start that in reality they will make a project like roofing, remodeling of a home, ect... bad for themselves even if the company might be doing a great job. Some people can be picky about one thing or another. I like my work to be done good the first time and this roofing company did that for me. It rained not too long ago and i had no leaks, no problems. My new shingle roof looks beautiful. The crew that did my work could not be any better, they were nice guys and hard workers who did a good job and i sure can appreciate that. Hope this is helpful to review seekers. read more

I needed a new roof and after various quotes I choose them because they were able to start right away (literally the next day they got to work and the roof was done in about a week and a half). I will say they were not the cheapest quote and there was an increase in the final cost due to replacing more wood than originally accounted for but they did a good job. I chose them for the convenience they provided by being able to remove and reinstall the solar panels. Other roofing companies did not want to touch the solar panels and/or required me to coordinate with my solar company so they can be removed and installed again which would require more waiting on my end so everything being done at once was a benefit. I got the gutters done as well and those look so much better. Eduard, the project manager, kept me informed every step of the way and answered any question asked. So far no rain to test the final quality but from what I see the work looks nice. As with any major house project I would definitely keep in mind that prices can increase! The crew worked through the heatwave and that is commendable. read more
