We had an amazing experience with Clearview. Erik was so helpful laying out our options when we met him and getting us on the schedule. We had multiple leaks in different areas of our home and there was a significant storm coming. We need a complete replacement of all materials under our tile. Erik made sure to have someone come out (even on a weekend) to completely tarp our roof so that we wouldn't have any more damage before the job started. It was horribly windy and they came back out again to replace the tarp and make sure we were protected. The actual job was done from start to finish in a little over a week without big breaks or days off from our house (hate when contractors disappear for days). Permitting was all official and posted on our door for the duration. City approval was obtained quickly once the job was done. The team cleaned to everything and was very respectful of our home and outdoor space throughout. Our home has so many solar panels. We needed someone who could remove them safely and disconnect them and put them back up at the end of the job. Also, reinstalling bird proofing netting under the panels to avoid another problem with birds after fixing our roof! I would like to share some feedback regarding my recent experience with your roof replacement estimate. I do appreciate the company personel came out on schedule. The inspection and estimate process took quite a bit of time. While I appreciate the thoroughness of the consultation, I felt it would have benefited from a bit more professional focus. A good portion of the appointment was spent on non-project-related topics, which left me somewhat concerned about the efficiency and time management we might expect during the actual installation. Furthermore, as the quoted price was at the higher end of the market, I was looking for a high-caliber service experience to match. Because the representatives lacked the professional self-sufficiency I encountered with other contractors--specifically regarding requests for household amenities--I ultimately did not feel comfortable moving forward with Clear View. read more

I received 4 bids with Clear View's offer being one of the better ones. Other companies might quote you something high then bring it down after they seemingly make some calls to pull some strings in your favor just to get something close to what Clear View's reps, Eric and Joseph, offered right off the bat. The quote was honest. After the tiles were removed, Clear View determined the underlying wooden roof was not going to pass permit inspection and suggested I redo the wood. My home was built in 1950 so I wasn't surprised. Naturally the cost increased in relation to the project scope, but everything was transparent and fair. In the end I backed off on redoing the gutters but the crew didn't pressure me one way or the other. The cost of the gutters was taken off after I signed documents indicating I wished to cancel this part of the project. There was a lot of trash wood that was still perfectly usable, maybe not for the roof project but for general DIY stuff. I asked the crew if I could retain some of it and they obliged. This is a very bad company. I let them replaced my entire roof in November 2024. They changed me together 61,000. When they removed my old roof. A guy, called Gary came, he told me three places need to repair and told me that I need to pay another 15,000, and I need to replace all the wood planks, otherwise he can't promise that there will be no leaking happen. I agreed and paid the money. When their roofers were doing my job, I noticed a lot of bad quality labor work. And I asked him about the quality of my roof. He always said don't worry about that. There will be no leaking happen. Now after 1 year and 3 months there are two leaking spots on my living room's ceiling. I attached some photos. This company let me spent 12,000 for replacing my old planks, but a lot of my old planks are better than the new one. After the leaking this company tried to shirking the responsibility. I don't believe them anymore. And his boss Jack H is very very smart. He made me nervous and angry. Try to let me deny his repair work. But his team is very unprofessional. They wanted do the water test and without protect our things. This is a really awful company which I never expected it. Unfortunately, the price escalated $12,500 (after we signed the contract) due to the fact that the plywood had to be replaced. That started us off on the wrong 'foot', but as the work progressed, we were impressed that the workers were on time, efficient and cleaned up each day. Other than the initial bidding issues, Art did a great job as Program Manager. He did what he promised and finished on time. Very expensive, but excellent job! read more

I called two companies with high ratings. The first one did a 10 minute inspection on the roof with a fairly low estimate and later sent an almost "boilerplate" proposal with a lot of items that could be added up later. The second company, Clear View did a thorough inspection of roof and attic, gave a detailed "presentation" of its proposal with many pictures of the roof. Twice as much as the other company, I said no, they reduced the total. I signed the papers. A couple of days later another roofer came, inspected and decided that I needed to do additional work and added $7,500 to the original estimate. If not, the warranty would be void. I understand that things can change once the work is started, but..... Their materials were very good, workers cleaned up after finishing, they fixed things that the City inspector required. I think they did very good work. David, the project manager was a pleasure to work with, always responding, even fixed an area that had been previously done by my handymen. Overall, I am very satisfy with the company. Not sure about the overall cost. read more

Not quite 5 stars. But after getting other outrageous bids, Eric was refreshing. Were able to knock about $7000 off the original estimate. After the old shingles were removed, another employee said the plywood was installed incorrectly and just adding more nails could cost another $2500 ($1.25 sf) which was quite shocking. The old roof had lasted over 30 years and never leaked. Luckily, the Irvine inspector approved everything. I think the roof itself is well done and in a timely manner. For that I can give 5 stars. If you're reading this review it's because you want to make the right decision on choosing a roofing contractor. Read my review and all the many others so you can feel good about your choice. I did. I live in West Covina and we are the third owners of a ranch style home built in the late 1950's. We needed a new roof because the current one was over 30 years old. It was the third roof covering, so we had no choice but to remove all three. I knew this was going to be expensive because of the time and labor to remove the first layer, which was wood shake. The second and third layers were standard composition shingles. We also have an addition to the house, which was a flat roof. I received a total of 3 bids. The first bid shocked me. The second bid was lower by about $4K. Clear View was lower by almost $9K from the first estimate. Obviously the estimates varied greatly. I was instantly suspicious of Clear Views estimates. Prior to making a decision I consulted with a friend of my wife's sister who just happened to own his own roofing company in New Jersey. We communicated back and forth after thoroughly reviewing the scope, material, and what was included. He eventually gave me the ok and I chose Clear View because of price, the material and warranties, and the extras which were included. See the attached scope for details. Martin was the Project Manager who I worked with and came to review my roof. This was a total roof replacement down to the studs on the pitched main house roof, and on the flat roof to the exposed wood. Everything was excellent! His crew worked hard, were conscientious, and made sure things were done correctly with no corners cut or material substitutes - all as stated. This applied to all things that were done. One thing I should mention is estimates are based on what is seen. If, after the layers are removed, they find surprises, that may cost. In my case, they recommended covering my flat roof wood with new plywood. This made sense and I had it done. It cost an additional $3,500 but was still the lowest bid overall. So I would suggest you get 3 or however many estimates you want, then call Clear View. I absolutely was 100% satisfied. See photos. read more

Staff from Clear View Roofing were always professional, friendly, and efficient in their tasks. David was our project manager during the roof replacement. He was prompt and professional. He was also very thorough in his inspection. He took pictures. He crawled in the attic. And he even invited my husband to go up on the roof to explain (in his professional opinion) the condition of our roof. Again, I can't say enough how thorough he was. I had two other companies send representatives to get estimates for roof replacements, and none of them were as thorough as David. At the end of the project, David continued to advocate for us ensuring that the men completed quality work, making sure the vents were put on right and freshly painted to match our new roof, and the area around our house was clean. The actual roof removal and replacement took about 3 days. The men got there early at 7am each morning and worked all day to finish the roof quickly. Because of weekends and scheduling with the city the inspections, the whole project from start to finish took about a week and a half. Our initial estimate and the actual final cost of the roof replacement was very different. Partly, it was our fault because we were not informed to know what to expect. Once the roof was removed, there was another walk through to assess the condition of wood. (Read below for TIP) An area to improve would be communication. A day or two would pass before we were notified when inspections would happen or when the portal potty would be picked up. TIP: Estimate more than half, if not ALL wood replacement. In the initial inspection, ask the representative to give an estimate with the expectation to replace more than half, if not ALL the wood under the roof. In our estimate, it stated replacement of 10% of the wood. This small detail/ mistake ultimately doubled the cost of the roof replacement. TLDR: Customer service: Great Work: Great Communication: Good, but could improve Price: Higher end They were quick, efficient, and did quality work (as far as we know, but we won't know til it rains if the roof is sound ). read more

Overall good job. Troy made it a pleasant experience by always addressing concerns and fixing areas where the work was less than ideal. To be fair, every job and contractor has the same issue. Home owner definitely has to monitor quality and point out issues to the representative. Also, price for big job was very reasonable compared to others. However, once the roof was off, and they found other issues, there was much less ability to negotiate and prices seemed higher than I would expect for those issues. Similarly, if you are considering additional work, like gutters or wood repair, get it bundled up front. Once the big job is underway, there is much less incentive to provide competitive bid, since they already have the major work. That dynamics is just part of any construction project. In summary, we were very happy with Troy, and the overall product in the end, recognizing that you'll need to be engaged to monitor quality. read more

We called and the company sent someone out very quickly which was convenient. The sales team was very nice and thorough, however, when it came to discussing cost, transparency went out the window. The team quoted us and after quote proceeded to ask us if we had any discount codes. When we showed them the discount code it was not populating on their pricing system. The onsite team called their boss (mind you, at this point there was no detailed quote that could be pulled on their system) the boss proceeded to say that the discount was already included in the cost and when called out on the lack of facts and sketchiness, he got super defensive. It left a very bad taste in our mouth and made us wonder what else they are not being transparent about. Needless to say we are not going with this company due to the bad taste the boss left us with.
