It's been several months since our roof was completed, and my experience with Shea Roofing remains as great as it originally did when they were doing original bids. Replacing our roof was a huge project, and I'm glad we went with Shea. They were communicative, responsive, and did a thorough job! The real test will be this El Nino rainy season! But so glad we got our roof done before then! read more

Top notch! We got three estimates, all were in the same price range but Shea had the best suggestions and offered the most features in the package. Bill Shea was great to deal with and the scheduling went as promised. The work was done in 2 days, the crews were very efficient and cleaned up after themselves both days. Our roofs were tear offs so that's a lot of noise and pounding but Blake, the foreman made it bearable and kept us in the loop at every step. It really couldn't have gone better. Highly recommend these folks, they're pros. read more

We used Shea ten years ago and our roof is still perfect. I recommend them because they deliver value and excellent workmanship.

Shea Roofing replaced our home's roof almost 8 years ago. Since then, the roof has withstood several torrential rainstorms ash from nearby fires, and a 20' long tree limb falling on it. Every time we were concerned, the company has sent an inspector, free of charge, to make sure the roof was okay. And every time, the roof has been just fine. Choosing Shea Roofing was one of the best decisions I've made as a homeowner. And the price was good, too! Many thanks to Bill and the whole company. We really appreciate the work you did for us. read more

Great guy, great company!! I've used Shea Roofing on two roofs; the first one 10 years ago and the second one this year. The price is fair and the service is excellent. This company does the right thing and if you have a question or concern months after your job is completed and paid for they will take care of you. I was not even asked to write a review but was so pleased that I decided to write this one. Thanks for being great guys!! read more

I had never had a roof replaced before, so I was somewhat uncertain of how to proceed. I used the roofing calculator site, which was a mistake, and was immediately inundated with aggressive companies giving wildly variable estimates, and pressing me to sign with them. I remembered someone in the past had used Shea Roofing, and I was impressed with the appearance of their work at the time. I contacted Shea roofing, and was immediately impressed with the quick and efficient estimate I received, and their price was the most reasonable of anyone I had contacted as well. I took about two weeks to decide, and Shea only contacted me once during that time, to verify that I had received their estimate, without any high pressure tactics. I went ahead and signed with Shea, and was very pleased with the entire experience. Bill Shea and everyone else that I dealt with was very friendly, and informative about what would be involved. The work was done in a timely fashion, and very professionally. Their workers were very polite, and cleaned up the site after every day's work. The whole process couldn't have gone more smoothly, and I'm extremely happy with the end result. I would not hesitate to recommend Shea Roofing to anyone. read more

I just had Shea roofing redo my house and garage and it only took a few days and the price was very reasonable. Bill came out and did a thorough inspection of the roof and his assessment concurred with other people that had come out. But he mentioned my lack of proper ventilation in certain areas and made great suggestions. I told him that my previous roof that had only been done by someone else 15yrs prior was done on the cheap and that they had used faulty material-- all the granules had come out from rains exposing the fiberglass. He made sure that he'd install excellent materials with an excellent warranty, both for workmanship and materials. Blake, super nice guy, oversaw the installation. Oh, and part of the roofing process is that they provided a porta potty outside for the workers. No one needed to ever enter the house. The job was done quickly, efficiently, and cleanup was great. You'd never know they were there. Top notch professionals. My wife and I are very happy. read more

I called them and was able to easily schedule an appointment for a roof replacement estimate. The rep came out and did a solid job inspecting my roof and talking to me about my specific issues. Most other roofers just came out, measure led the roof and give me an estimate. They didn't communicate well. I even followed up with them about insurance related issues and they were super helpful. Was originally recommended by someone who was very happy with their work. read more

Awesome guys! We had a wind vane blow off in the recent windstorm and we needed it fixed, which admittedly is probably a very small and easy thing. They were quick to respond and super quick to fix and didn't even charge for it, but I would absolutely look to them in the future for other more serious roofing matters. Thanks again guys read more

Update: A few days after my review was posted and I had given up hope and already made repairs myself, Ken Shea showed up at my door. He seemed bothered by my persistence but kindly explained the higher than usual volume of calls they had due to the heavy storms. He took time and care to inspect and patch what he determined were problem spots on other parts of my roof unrelated to their work since I had already repaired the newer roof myself in anticipation of more heavy rains the following weekend. He was friendly and professional. I do acknowledge this is an unusually busy time of year however my viewpoint on this experience is weighed against the fact that they had come out a year prior and inspected the very same area that was problematic and told me they would return to repair it only to never to show up or return calls until most recently. read more

I just used Shea Roofing for the second time and couldn't be happier! We're in the middle of a home addition and I needed the roof to quickly be done so construction could stay on track. Despite how busy they are, Bill fit me in and ensured our construction was not delayed. The addition roof matches our existing Shea roof perfectly and I was, again, impressed by the price, timeliness and workmanship. I will only use Shea Roofing for all my future roofing needs. Thanks Shea Roofing! read more

Eighty year old house and detached garage, due for a complete new roof. What we experienced- it likely happens quicker if not around a holiday, but still it all happened very quickly and efficiently. Tuesday: Andy Gump arrived. Plywood delivered. Wednesday: Demo crew arrived, took care to protect shrubs and plants in harm's way. Helpful if necessary to exit or enter house during work. Roofing Crew installed new plywood. Thursday: Plywood installed onto garage. Friday: City Inspection Followed by a whole lotta hammerin' goin on! Saturday: Flat roof crew til noonish. One person on garage til done. Sunday: Monday: Holiday Tuesday: Wednesday: Andy left. Blake called to check in and arrange final City inspection. Thursday: Blake dealt with a couple fine details, waited for inspector, chewed the fat, got paid. And they lived happily ever after. read more

Wonderful company with great people. They just replaced my very old roof in Pasadena and it looks great. Highly recommended.

Always reliable, honest, and get things done on time. We have been using their services the past 6 years and highly recommend this business.

Scheduled an appointment for a time I would be at the house. Owner of the company showed up 2 hours early and was upset I wasn't there waiting. When I spoke with the office they: 1. Couldn't remember that I had actually scheduled a time. 2. Wouldn't accommodate returning for the appointment during the scheduled time. 3. Had me email pictures of the issue to "maybe" provide a quote and never followed up with me. I guess look elsewhere for a roofer. read more

We live in an older Burbank house that was built around 1940. When we bought the house in 2015, we were told that we needed to replace the roof sooner or later. It had 3 layers of shingles atop old-fashioned wood shakes. Shea Roofing was not the lowest bid, and it wasn't the highest bid; they were right in the middle. We liked their businesslike approach, and after checking their license information on the state website, we hired them. They were outstanding i every way. In the heat of summer, they first sent a demolition team to remove the three layers of old shingles, along with the wood shakes. They did this in one day. There were 12 guys, at least, doing the work. The next day they sent another team of 12, to lay down the plywood and new shingles. We have a detached garage that was included in the project. The shingles were laid in one or just over one day. We highly recommend this company for residential roofing needs. read more

I wanted to give this company an excellent review as they came highly recommended. Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience. Similar to other reviews, they did not come through for me. I waited a month to get an estimate. Curtis came out and spent all of 10 minutes on my property and said he had all the information he needed to give me an estimate. However, the estimate never came even after contacting Curtis via text. He assured me it would be in the following week, but no estimate and no call. About a week later, Bill Shea showed up at my property unexpectedly. He rang the doorbell and proceeded to take a ladder and access my roof. When I realized that someone was on my roof, he introduced himself and stated that he needed more measurements. When he was done he said he would have an estimate for me in a few days. However, that didn't happen. I sent him a text to follow-up, but no reply and have not heard from them since. Needless to say, I wasted my time waiting for this company. I have since hired another company and now am looking to have my roof replaced in February vs December as originally planned. read more

needed to remove lighting fixtures in roof/ceiling and install new skylights in roof over the Living Room. Removal and installation went as originally scheduled, on time, and on budget, despite some unforeseen issues with the original roofing. Clean up was immaculate, and the sunlight pouring through caused my long-time friend to comment: "I didn't know your couch was blue!!" read more

This is the third time I called Shea Roofing. Both times they came out the same day and gave me a written estimate that was considerably less than the other two roofing companies I called. Their guys showed up on time and did more than I felt I bargained for. They also cleaned up all my rain gutters and left the entire area where they were working much cleaner than it was when they got here. I highly recommend them and tell all my friends about them. Oh! Their estimator is also really cute and smells good :) read more

We had our roof replaced in summer 2023 and would gladly recommend them to others. The price was reasonable, especially considering their experience, and the process was very smooth. Total pros throughout, no complaints. read more

Really wanted to give them a good rating because Bill Shea was very pleasant when he came out- BOTH times. Tried to hire them in 2019- Bill came out to scope out the project, promised to send the estimate in a few days....... Then NOTHING. We called, texted and emailed for MONTHS trying to get the estimate so we could hire them. ZERO reply. Tried again in 2022. Exact same behavior. Bill comes out, we discuss best roofing material to replace entire roof......and he disappears again. How the hell this company stays in business is beyond reason. Must be nice to treat people like crap and turn down large jobs. read more

I was so impressed with Shea roofing. First of all I had called several companies and Shea roofing was the first to come out. I was so impressed with the very professional proposal. It was typed up while Bill was in his car. I was given the proposal in detail. At that point I knew I picked a great company. I had 3 other appointments so I met with them. I was not impressed with any of them. My girlfriend told me to look no further as she and 3 of her neighbors used Shea Roofing and stressed that I was in the best of hands that they are excellent. That did it for me. My roof was done in 8 days. The workers did a fabulous job. They also left my yard very clean I highly recommend them. My roof looks beautiful and I'm beyond excited. No more worries! Thank you Bill and Ken! A million thanks. I sure will recommend to all my family and friends. read more

Highly recommend Shea Roofing! We had a new roof put on this past summer and an unexpected storm hit us one morning lasting about 10-15 minutes, which caused some damage in our house. Shea Roofing went above and beyond to make everything right. They were extremely supportive and very professional. Our new roof looks amazing. Their attention to detail is unmatched! Hands down, I would use this company again and again. read more

Bill and his crew were amazing. They were clean, quick, precise, professional and friendly. The price was in line (actually a tad more competitive) than the other roofers I called. If you need a new roof, look no further! read more

We procrastinated on getting our roof replaced, dreading waiting for bids and then enduring several days of noise and confusion. On Facebook I asked for recommendations for roofing in Burbank. All but one of the (many) answers was Shea Roofing. Their estimate was somewhere in the middle, but I liked how much time they took with my questions. The job was done quickly and the clean up was thorough. The roof looks beautiful. I would definitely recommend these guys. read more

This was their 3rd roof jobs that Shea Family did for us for the last 4 months, as always, great job, very professional staff, super nice and clean work, prices were all very reasonable, all our calls were answered right a way, jobs were done all in a timely manner, all the paper work/permits were obtained, don't have enough to say about William, Ken, Blake, Carolyn, all the staff/workers, ......., highly recommended and we will be referring them to all our family, friends, associates, VIP's........... read more

I found Bill Shae through Yelp and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! They are such professional, easy to communicate with and reasonable priced. A big shout out to thank Shea roofing for helping me. I was having an issue with my homeowners insurance not wanting to renew my policy. The insurance company was not accepting what I was telling them about my roof and said that it wasn't acceptable. I contacted Shea roofing and they were nice enough to come out at no charge to inspect my roof, determined that there was nothing wrong with it and gave me something in writing, along with a data sheet about my roof to submit to the insurance company. Because of what they did, my insurance company, reviewed the information and reversed their decision and will be renewing my insurance policy. I will definitely be contacting them when my roof does need to be done because of the kindness that they showed in providing me what I needed. THANK YOU SHEA ROOFING! read more

My family members used Shea Roofing for their house a few years ago and recommended them to me when we noticed some roof leaks after the latest storm. Unfortunately after they came out for a quote, the man (Bill I think) took my email and said he would email me their proposal, but I never heard back from them. I called and left messages twice for them asking for follow up and never received a response. read more

Shea Roofing was the middle bid on our roof replacement project, but I chose them because they are local to me and also because of their excellent reputation. Well, let me say up front that we made the right choice! The tear down (we had a layer of 3 roofs) was efficiently accomplished by a well-supervised crew of 12 who showed up exactly when they said they would, and when done they performed an excellent clean-up. The actual new roof installation was one craftsman and one assistant, and once again they worked hard to complete the job right on time. The roof looks great, we have had multiple neighbor positive comments already. In fact, once this COVID-19 pandemic passes, my next door neighbor is going to have his old roof replaced by Shea Roofing, he was that impressed. We are currently going through a series of rainstorms and have not had a single leak; such peace of mind is very comforting. In conclusion, you can't go wrong with Shea Roofing... they are simply the best! read more

If I could, I would give 7 STARS to Shea Roofing. From Joe with the initial reasonable estimate, Bill Shea who coordinated everything, Blake and Keith Shea who helped monitor and finish everything on-site. It was such a smooth and efficiently run project. The crew was amazing, and made sure the house grounds were left clean (actually, cleaner) at the end of the day. I would highly recommend Shea Roofing. Thank you, Shea Roofing! Hope to not see you again for another 25-30 years! ; ) read more

I am going to start with I never got the chance to even initiate service with this company. Called to explain that my boss was looking for a roofer to help his parents in the Alhambra area. Though the young woman did confirm they do service Alhambra she also mentioned they were 2-3 weeks out since they were busy. No problem. However I tried to explain that my boss wanted to have a conversation with a technician or the estimator beforehand to tell them exactly what to do since his parents don't speak any English. The girl's response... we are too busy to do that. To me that seems pretty lame since your current job, if done right, won't be needing you again for a few years or so if you do good work so how do you bring in new business if you do not make the time to chat with potential new customers? I'm sure they do quality work the reviews below speak very highly of this company but I am not impress. Hoping you all receive better service at initial contact then I did. The search continues for a roofer! read more

After 3 phone calls and 2 email requests went unanswered, I have given up.

We discovered serious wind damage on the back edge of our roof, which folded the shingles back several feet, exposing a good amount of tar paper -- and this is a NEW roof just installed last year. Bill and his team came out to fix it and mentioned the nails used on the new roof were a tad short, and that longer nails are a best practice. Although we connected with Shea through our insurance, they were prompt and did great work. read more

I was not going to reply when Bill from Shea Roofing's emailed me as I thought the email was disingenuous and not true and I was going to leave it alone. I am very busy dealing with a high stress job and other life matters (like a leaky roof) but since you decided to reply publicly on yelp- here is my response: You mentioned that I "insisted because Yelp said so". How impolite and not true. When your office personnel said they don't service my area I simply replied in an email that your website said you do "all types of roofing in and around the Los Angeles for 30 years" and your coverage map on Yelp and your reviews come from L.A. If you did not want to do the estimate which now is very obvious; you should have never come out. I take exception to you saying "I insisted" as though I was bothering you. All that being said- your company may do quality work but I taught my children "Spend your money where your money is welcomed". I stand by my review and again your reply cements how I feel. I wish you well and leave this bit of advice: your response in what you say and How you say it to reviewers can mean the difference of someone wanting to call you or not. Yelp advises this too. https://biz.yelp.com/support/responding_to_reviews read more
