We had a new roof installed by Shea roofing over 10 years ago. An animal peeled one of the tiles back. I called Shea Roofing and Blake came out to assess. He came back and replaced the damaged tile at no charge. So glad I hired them. Top quality workmanship and they stand behind their work. Thank you! read more

The whole process of doing a re cover roof to our home went extremely smooth. Met with Bill Shea and received a free estimate and roof inspection. Liked his no pressure approach and he had roofing samples available for our inspection. The roofing team leader Lorenzo was very professional and accommodating to our few requests during the process. I had five different bids and although they weren't the cheapest they were the best in approach to the entire process and explaining it to us. Ken Shea was here for the final inspection. Both brothers are extremely professional! Also, I'd like to acknowledge Joe (Office Manager) who was wonderful to work with. Job well done !!!! Highly recommend them for any of your roofing needs. I was referred to Shea Roofing by our neighbor. I was so impressed with how good looking their roof is. Bill is so professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He recommended removing those fake chimneys on my roof because they always cause the leaks, no other roofers want to do it. Three days from start to finish including clean up and inspection. Highly recommended. read more

You get what you pay for! I have a very problematic roof. AC unit & ducts, Skylights, flat & shingle. And extremely ugly. Got a few estimates that were all within a few thousand of each other. Shea was on the higher end BUT they were the only ones that completely put me at ease. Completely eliminating my anxiety about the project. Professional, on time, the nicest crew & completely cleaned up when it was all done.I had wood rot damage inside & they completely took care of everything. And now my ugly roof is a thing of the past. Honestly if you need to replace or repair your roof...I cant recommend the Shea Brothers enough. Now we just need some rain : read more

I'm a Real Estate Agent and I was in a bit of a bind. I had an inspector tell me the roof of the house was done, finished and needed to be replaced. I call another roofing company and get a bid, the house closes escrow and I call to get make arrangements to get the work done. The roofer tells me he can't get to it for 2 months. I get Shea Roofing and talk to Carolyn, she makes an appointment with Bill, he comes over gives me a bid (very competitive) gets his tear off company on the phone and they can start in TWO DAYS, FINISH IN THREE! Amazing, I am so happy but most of all my clients are too. Thank you so much. Great job, pleasant people, look forward to working with you again. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This review is long overdue. I can not recommend Shea Roofing enough! Because they unequivocally showcased that they 100% will stand by their work. Shea roofing came out and fixed a roof leak on one side of my home years ago and the work was done well and didn't leak again. so naturally this xmas when LA was hit with Storm/ rain and two areas leaked I called them again. This time I got estimates from two other companies as it took Shea a while to have an opening in their schedule for me. Well Their estimate was in the middle. They did the work but then when the rain came again the area leaked more and now my ceiling was damaged. I called them during march, (yes mid the cover crisis starting )but still The owner came out investigated the work and investigated the damage. There seemed to be a confusion on what I understood they were doing and what was written in the contract. Without ANY argument He promised to redo the work beyond what the original estimate was. And then hired someone to fix my ceiling (free of charge). Honestly I can not recommend these guys enough. yes something went wrong with the original fix These guys chose to stand by their work way beyond what was promised, which is not something you can find easily. read more

Shea roofing was quick and helpful!! I had leaks and he had that part removed, put new tar paper down and sealed the flashing. I was having my house painted and he suggested leaving the tile roof off till the painters came and painted the house. When the painters were done he came back to complete the job. This way the painters could just paint and walk those trick areas without us both worrying about breaking any of the tiles. Great prices as well. Thanks Shea Roofing!! read more

I had my Burbank home's roof replaced by Shea Roofing in October of 2019, and I couldn't be happier with the workmanship, quality, and price. Not a single drop of water leaked through in the winter of 2019/2020. Shea tore off my old roof, replaced some rotten roofing wood, and put on a beautiful new roof (with a very long guarantee), for the same price other roofers were asking just to put a second layer of shingles on top of my existing wreck of a roof. I highly recommend Shea Roofing! read more

Great job would highly recommend Shea Roofing everything went smoothly from start to finish. they were right on schedule

You know, I got my roof redone back in 2011 from the folks at Shea roofing. No complains, very very professional, very knowledgeable and most important to me, well mannered team of workers! Fast forward 7 years later, I got a satellite dish installed on my roof last weekend (10/1) and the company (Who will remain nameless) do a very very bad job! The did a lot of damage to the shingles on my roof. I called Bill and Ken and even though their were in their BUSY SEASON, they not only addressed my roof damages within 4 days from the damages, but THEY DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE REPAIRS! This is what you call 2 stand up guys who do stand by their work!!! A+ in my book. read more

I wholeheartedly recommend Shea Roofing because they're the best roofing company in Los Angeles! They did a great job putting in a new roof over our bay window when the previous one from another company was leaking during rain storms. They also gave me a very reasonable and competitive estimate to replace our home's roof when we're ready in the next few years. They are licensed, insured and bonded -- and guarantee their workmanship. In particular, Ken Shea is amazing with exceptional customer service and highly responsive! You won't be disappointed with Shea Roofing! read more

Shea Roofing replaced our leaky garage roof. They were prompt, pleasant, if somewhat pricey.

I called Shea Roofing in early March. Due to the high volume of recent rain, their voicemail stated that they were only able to book appointments 3 weeks into the future, but if prospective clients were OK with that, they'd be happy to assist. I left my number, someone returned my call, and I made an appointment--for late March. In late March, Bill came to my home and inspected my roof, which has been leaking in several places. He said my roof is generally in good shape, but he identified several breaches, not only in the areas that are leaking but in other areas that are likely to leak. He recommended patching those areas, which sounded reasonable to me. He took my email address and said they'd send me a quote "tomorrow." I never heard back. About a week later, I left a friendly reminder on their voicemail. No call back. It's now been over *3 weeks* since the appointment--and still not a peep. I've now waited a total of 6 weeks for Shea Roofing--yet I'm right back where I started. This is the very definition of "flakey." Beware. read more

Bill had sent a quote to our HOA for about $25k to re-do our flat roof. We're a 6 unit complex. We scheduled him 6 weeks in advance to start the job. Then I asked him for an updated quote which would include replacing the fascia boards and metal parts of the roof as well. He ignored my calls and voicemails for weeks. Then 4 days before he was supposed to start, he emails me an updated quote for $50k and says that he needs me to sign it asap. He doesn't apologize for ignoring me for weeks. Nor does he even allow one day for our HOA to look it over. His updated quote included an additional $10k for "permits and miscellaneous". He doubled our quote and acted extremely inconvenienced when our HOA needed time to meet and discuss the sudden price hike. We decided not to move forward with Shea Roofing for multiple reasons. I think it's just another case of a roofer who gets too busy. read more

We used Shea two years ago for a roof job and removal of 3 layers of shingles. I have loved the roof ever since and appreciate the good work they did. I also noticed the shingles we picked keep the house a little cooler now on hot days. I reviewed about a dozen proposals when I was researching redoing my roof, and Shea was not the lowest estimate but the best overall package. They have a solid reputation, excellent warranty, and do outstanding work. read more

I appreciate Bill coming out quickly and providing a reasonable quote to save the house from a leaking flat roof. Jamie and crew were on time, respectful (esp under Covid conditions) and neat. Communication from your company was excellent. All in all, Shea Roofing was very easy to work with - thank you Bill and Blake (and also to Jon's Window & Awning for a great referral!) read more

Came 2 hour after the appointment window. And tried to sell a/c replacement instead of roof repair.

Shea Roofing did the roof on my house back in February. Their quote was the best one that I received by far, they were super communicative, and the job only took 3-4 days. The roof looks great! Well done! read more

We needed a complete tear-off and new roof. We phoned in to have someone come out and give us an estimate. Bill promptly returned our call and came out a couple of days later. Nice guy...he answered all of our questions and provided us with a detailed quote on the spot along with credentials (insurance, references, etc). The price was very reasonable. Also, of the three estimates we received, he was the only one to suggest that we need not replace the flat roof of a more recent patio addition as it was still in good condition. The honesty was greatly appreciated. The teardown crew showed up early the morning on the day scheduled. It was a fast teardown and the crew did a nice job cleaning up and hauling everything off in a matter of three or so hours. The shingle crew came in and finished up over the next two days. All of our old hunky pipes and vents were removed, replaced, or capped, and all were painted to match the new roof color. The final product looks great! They didn't ask for final payment until the building inspector signed-off on everything. (By the way, they dealt with submitting all of the city permits required. No work needed on our end). All in all, the Shea bros. did a bang up job on our roof. It was our first roof and they made it a positive experience for us. Very professional and down-to-earth! Highly recommended. read more

Need a roof job? Call Shea Roofing! Over the years they have done three jobs for me: laid down a new flat roof, built a new patio roof and my last project- re-roof under the Spanish tiles and reset the tiles. From start to finish the job was well planned and professionally executed. The owner, Bill Shea, gave me a competitive bid. The work crew came each day at 9:00 am and left at 5pm. They kept the noise level down, no loud music or shouting to each other across the roof. Each evening they left the job site clean. The supervisors listened to questions and suggestions, and were always accessible, as was Bill. The finished product is truly beautiful. Couldn't be happier! read more

My reviews are typically on food but when the roof on your house is almost a half a century old and comprised of three layers, the bottom layer of wood shake shingles originally laid in 1939 when the house was built, it was time for a new roof. I called a construction company that does roofing which I had used for many projects in the past to give me an estimate. I then looked up a few companies on Yelp to get some additional estimates. These folks were one of those who came out and gave me an estimate. As far as price, they were all in the ballpark. I will say that these folks were $50 cheaper than my original choice but that had nothing to do with my choice to have Shea do the job. Bill Shea was my first contact. Great fellow. No BS. Very personable. He clinched the job with paperwork. Literally. His estimate was on a work order that he printed in front of my house in his truck. The package was organized, complete beyond comprehension, and professional. The package included warranty information, color charts, catalogs from the shingle manufactures. Total pro job. The tear off crew: These folks were scheduled to arrive at 1:00pm on the first day of work. They arrived about 12:30pm. They were done by 3:00pm. There were eleven people on my roof at one point. They worked like a well choreographed dance company. The cleanup was perfection, right down to a magnet on rollers that they rolled around my entire property to pick up any metal or old roofing nails. In a word, Outstanding. The crew that installed the new roof. To repeat myself, Outstanding. The crew was first rate. The labor and craftsmanship of installation was excellent. I spent two decades in QA/QC as many of my friends know and one of my quests in life is finding fault with the work of others ;) No issues here. None. The corner work, flashing, fit and finish are all as good as it gets. Did I mention I used to build boats and my degree is in Architectural Engineering? I have a bit of experience in some areas of build quality, design and attention to details. Ken Shea is the brother and one of the company owners along with Bill Shea. I met with Ken about three or four times during the course of the work. Once again, a great part of a great company in my eyes. Very knowledgeable and just an all around cool fellow. I don't want to leave out Caroline who answers the phone and may be the office manager. I talked to her a number of times on the phone. She always had answers to my questions and was on top of everything. Bottom line. These folks take pride in their work and are masters of their craft. That is not all that common these days. Then again, to be fair, after installing what could be a half a billion roofs they should be masters. Then again, they could have also learned to take shortcuts and cut corners which they have not done. The workers and staff are all terrific. I guess the real bottom line is.... if you need roof work done, call these folks. They work all over SoCal as a side note. read more

We found Bill Shea to be courteous, very knowledgeable and professional. Immediately after meeting with us, he gave us a written proposal and included a free upgrade to GAF's non-prorated 50 yr warranty (not that we would live that long). Plus he would complete our rebate forms for installing "cool roof" shingles. While we were reviewing roofer proposals, he responded to our questions in a very timely manner. The entire job, took 3 days to complete and overall he made this experience as pain free as possible. read more

5 STARS! All the way around. Even the office girl Carolyn is polite, attentive, and helpful. They do great work, and really honor their WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY. If you have a concern, or see something that may have been missed, they will be out within 1-2 days. They will not give you the run-around, like so many other companies. Big thanks to Shea Roofing. I'd recommend to anyone! read more

I called Shea Roofing based on the Yelp reviews. We needed a new roof and one of the Shea brothers was out the day of my call to give me an estimate. I have read about problems of getting the quote in a timely manner here but he gave me a quote before he left. I had some other quotes as well afterwords and decided to go with Shea. They were a bit cheaper and they just had a straightforward "we do roofs and we get it done" attitude. They did a great job. In three days our roof was done just before this last heavy rain. The crew was on time, worked fast and were pleasant. They also cleaned up everything. We did get a small leak around a bathroom vent during the heavy rain on Sunday and Shea was out the next morning to fix it in response to our call. They did a great job and I'm very happy I chose them! read more

Bill's team is doing our roof right now, so I will update this review once it's done. But holy moly, are these people professional!!! Our roof is leaking. It's causing disgusting things to build-up in our storage room. I had several roofers come out to give me an estimate. Other than Bill and this OTHER roofing company, the other roofers sucked. Seriously. One roofer looked and said, wow this is bad, we'll put the new roof OVER the old roof (huh?), and then never gave us an estimate. Like, I called and emailed and faxed. NO estimate. Another roofer couldn't find the leak!!! Never trust a roofer who can't find the leak. Another roofer was busy staring at my chest the whole time. Seriously, where does one find a good roofer in this town? Then, along comes Bill Shea. Bill is a licensed contractor, but he is dressed nicely and behaves more like a company exec. (which I guess he is). They gave me an ETA of between 2-3 pm. He showed up right at 3 pm with a ladder. Took only a few minutes of inspection , and he printed out the estimate right in his truck. Guaranteed for 7 years, and licensed and bonded. We hired him right on the spot! this was last Friday. His crew is out there fixing my roof today before the rains tomorrow. Super professional. Hire this guy. Don't got through 6 roofers like I did. read more

After meeting with five highly rated roofers in the Burbank area, I ultimately went with Shea Roofing. They were articulate and thorough and did a wonderful job. One estimate from a competitor came in at about the same cost, however, estimated it would take them five days. Shea finished the job in two days and I was so happy. Even my neighbor that was worried about debris and dust called to thank me for hiring such great professionals that went to her home and took care of the dust. One of the roofers with whom I met tried to frighten me into using him asap by saying a "fire could happen anytime" since my roof was out of spec. I could go on and on about the tactics others used and deeply appreciated that Shea was straightforward, honest, reliable, and responsive. Bonus: the brothers are really nice and friendly people. read more

Great job!! Very professional! My roof leaked badly during the recent rainstorm. Bill came out to our home to give us an estimate. Even during this Covid crisis he was very professional ( he wore mask and gloves) The work was completed on time, on budget with minimal disruption. His workers all wore masks throughout the workday despite the 90 degree plus weather. Highly recommend Shea roofing. read more

Bill and his team did a killer job on our roof. We needed to get our roof replaced quickly in order to maximize the sale price of our house that about to go on the market. Bill stood by a quote he had given us a year before (which beat two other more recent quotes from other companies) and did the entire job in two days flat. The team was quick, very clean (I didn't find one roofing nail on the ground DURING the project) and most importantly did a fantastic job. Highly, highly recommended! read more

Shea roofing redid our roof two years ago and we could not be happier with their work. We panicked before the threat of heavy winter rains and asked to be placed on their wait list for an estimate, good work is worth the wait! Bill arrived on time, gave a detailed estimate with roofing options, and included information we would need for energy rebates. We had a few rain delays, but each time we received notification and alternative dates to reschedule. The tear-off and roofing crews were both beyond professional, prompt and tidy. As an architect I am thankful and appreciative of their attention to detail and quality flashing installation. We love the look of the roof, have had no complaints and multiple neighbors have asked us for Shea Roofing's information for their own homes. read more

Just a little update here. After the massive rains and hurricane like winds (hey, it's LA, this is as bad as it gets for us) we just had, I had a very minor drip coming off my water-heater exhaust in the garage. Called up Shea, and Ken was here the next day to fix it up. Apparently the winds blew off a metal cap - causing the mild leak. You got to figure with a big job such as a new roof, there may be some weak spots here and there. What counts is that they came to fix it up ASAP. read more

I got three quotes where I was told I had to reframe my entire garage and laundry room...and then I called Ken. He came out, told me my roof didn't need reframing, only a new roof. They came in one day and 8 hours later I had a new roof. And for over 1/2 of what the other guys wanted to charge me. These guys are honest and do great work. Highly recommended!! read more

We had a great experience with a roof replacement by Shea Roofing in November. We had gotten quotes from 3 other good companies and were going to move forward with one until we saw our neighbor get their roofed replaced by Shea. They said it was seamless, so we got a quote (comparable to the others) and moved forward with Shea. It was indeed seamless...and fast. They were really communicative and conscientious throughout, never any debris left in the evenings. We had shade sails attached to the roof before, and not only did they reattach them - but they made a special trip to the hardware store to set up an improved hook/cable attachment that allows us to detach the sails on windy days so there's no tension on the roof. Really appreciated the attention to detail and would recommend! read more

Shea roofing did a great job with my roof. They did a really high-quality job, and the roof looks great. We haven't had any rain, and probably won't for another three or four months, but presumably it will do the job it's designed for. Something else to be aware of: These guys want you to be happy. There was something I was unhappy about when the job was first finished, and when I told them about it, one of the owners personally came over and climbed up on my roof on a 95-degree day to fix the problem. And he was really nice about it, too -- didn't make me feel like I was being too picky or like a difficult customer. Just took care of business. These guys are great. I'm really happy I went with Shea Roofing. read more

I had a roof that leaked in a spot and made the ceiling droop. Since I didn't have any info on the age of the roof, I decided to replace the whole thing. I contacted 2 companies for quotes. One gave me a quote for putting a new roof on top of the old one, because "that's what they do now". Shea gave me a quote for the same cost... however, it included labor to remove the old roof, install the new one, repair all the vent pipes and capped them. They also did an upgrade to "cool" roof tiles, which qualified for a few hundred rebate and gave me the paperwork to submit to the city. The were quick, efficient with clean work and I felt I got a really good value for the cost. I will use the again. read more

I had reached out to this company regarding a leak in our roof last week. After dealing with a few other rude companies, I was very impressed with the level of service they provided over the phone. We were referred to Shea Roofing by my boss who hired them a couple of years ago and was impressed with their professionalism and work ethic. They are awesome! Family owned and Bill and Ken do a superb job. Very professional, reasonable cost. With El Nino coming up every roofer is booked. Just got a roof installed from them.
