We had an area of our roof that was leaking through our attic into one of our bedrooms. Avi, the owner of Sol Roofing, came out in the pouring rain, to inspect our roof and attic. He determined which area of our roof was the problem and had his team remove many of our roof tiles and put down thicker tar paper all over. After the new tar paper was put down, our roof tiles were put back down and this corrected the problem. We had a tremendous rain storm after our roof was repaired and we had No More leaks! I went through 4 roofing contractors all on Yelp. We had a leak in a very steep church roof that was in serious need of repairs (drip buckets for heavy rains). We also had a flat roof in a different area with a foam roof that needed repairs (no leak, but moisture penetration. Three of the four were not interested because of pitch of roof, the forth would not open the roof but would "search and repair". All four would not touch the flat area without complete reroofing. Sol came in with a matching estimate with the search and repair guy and would open the roof, but also a reasonable solution for flat area (could not afford reroof). Very roofing knowledgable, good at explaining what he would do and what it meant. One day job and you wouldn't even know they were there. Easy to work with would recommend highly. read more

There is a tear in our ceiling and when it rains, the water makes its way into our hallways. I wasn't sure if I would be able to find a roofer within the week to fix the issue before the rain comes again in the next few days. I came across Sol Roofing and gave them a call right away. Avi answered the phone and I let him know the situation. He was able to make his way to our location within the next day. He let me know what was happening, gave me several solutions and was able to fix one of the main issues we had within the hour. I have a small leak in my roof and I called sol roofing. David showed up and show me pics and told me that he would bring 3 people and show up himself on that day and even though the price was high I felt he would do a good job. The job was on a Thursday and I called on wed to confirm since rain is coming Thursday. They confirm he is still coming. Thursday morning and nothing. I get a call later from David saying he wont be coming. We reschedule for monday since I will be out of town tuesday. Instead of 3 guys suppose to come and David. 1 guy came went up for 3 hrs and left for 1 hour comes back and left again after 1 hrs without any letting me know. David never showed up. They he tells me thr 4400 dollar job was done. 4k job done with 1 person in 4 hrs work. I called David and he said he will find out. The guy came back out again on tuesday while I was out of town and nobody home did work on the roof which I had no idea about. Only after David call me and I look at the camera 2 days later did I know someone was at my place. Lack of communication was the biggest problem. Only after arguing with David about whether he did the job he was suppose too did I finally get my picture of what he did. It was a headache dealing with this company and on top send me a invoice without deducting the deposit. Not professional especially if they been in business for 25 years and all the good review. I am sorry but I do not recommend this company. Treat your customer right. I should have ask for more quotes. read more

A couple years ago, I had water issues from my roof after persistent rains. Surprisingly, these issues should not have happened within a five year old roof*. I began a search for roofers but they quoted outlandish prices. Finally, a family member referred a company that appeared to be reliable. I contacted this roofer. However, this roofer quoted a new roof was needed although he was $4,000 less than my previous quotes. On the day, this roofer was supposed to start my job, he flaked on me saying his team manager said he had provided me with a very low quote based on the job, so this roofer-professional was now asking for more monies than originally quoted. (BTW, I reported this licensed company to the State Contractor Board.) In a vigorous search, I found Sol Roofing. Avi, the proprietor, reviewed by project without any knowledge of the prior debacles, and quoted me a lower price because all that was needed was some maintenance on this only five year old roof. Avi stated the previous roofer did not properly shingle areas on the roof and winds loosened the shingles over the years, hence, the leakages in these areas with defective shingles. The maintenance was completed on the house and garage roofing -- for far less than the other three vendors. And, he guaranteed the now repaired roof for another five to seven years. Needless to say, I have used Sol Roofing, who are also general contractors, for other home projects. It's wonderful when homeowners can locate reliable, confident, competent and economical service providers. If I could give this company zero stars I would!! They lied to me, overcharged me, broke many of my plants and never replaced them, had nails everywhere and my autistic daughter was injured from the nails,. They did not install the new roof properly because the minute it rained the roof was leaking. I had to fuss for them to come and fix it. Then AFTER they claimed to fix it, the roof leaked AGAIN and my ceiling was badly water stained. It took them WEEKS to come and fix it and the water stained got worse. They lied and said it's a 50 yr warranty on the roof...,. It's been FOUR months and every time I call they give me som BS story that the manufacturer hasn't sent the warranty. David is a liar and very aggressive when it comes tried to tell him all the things his workers were doing. Same with Avi. They expect me to be silent and not speak up for myself. It's ridiculous. You see a blemish on an apple? Do you know what's inside? No. Just like my roof. Who knows if racoons caused the shingles to be "crushed" into the roof? In about a 5' square. Open it up and the problem is much bigger. Sol Roofing came over and quoted. We also asked for Avi to estimate 2 other soft spots that caused water damage in the ceiling below. Same deal. (Who wants to throw $ you don't have at an unglamorous repair? You don't invite your friends over to admire your roof repairs.) But once you get into it, costs can go up. Have to fix it before it gets bigger. A poor slope created a sideways river, which leaked. Avi gave reasonable quotes on the 3 repairs. I chose to not do the torch down, to save money. He got it, and revised the estimate down. Finished in 2 days, in this crappy heat wave. Beautiful. But you know what? Sol Roofing still installed the torch down, fixed the uneven slope, and didn't charge me. Because Avi felt it was the only right repair he could live with. Now that's class.
