Roof review Would definitely do business with LA roofing again. I received quotes from 5 companies and this company gave the best bang for your buck. I worked with George who inspected the roof and was very transparent. He told me what was needed to fix the leaks and aging shingles and what it would entail to remove and reinstall my solar panels. George wrote out a detailed statement of work including the repairs as well as the cost for extra work that may come up once they remove the shingles. The team of roofers that came were very efficient the project started on time and completed on time. There was some extra wood decking that had to be replaced but the added cost ($300) was within what George had told me to expect. Throughout the process I received plenty of updates and pictures. I appreciated the pictures showing that the right steps were taken and the right materials were used (no shortcuts). During the process I had some concerns about how things were done and George explained them, relieving my concerns. The roof is warrantied for 10 years with LA roofing, and 50 with the manufacturer. The company has been in business for awhile so I feel confident that they will still be around if anything comes up. I definitely will be recommending them. read more

The workers did a great job and went to work right away! On day one when the workers finished for the day, they cleaned up rather nicely, even though they had to come back the next day to continue. In the end, the roof looked really nice! Working with George, when my aunt and I were handling the finances, Geroge was mentioning the balance of what we owe which is fine, but not in the midst of us writing checks, by doing so, it caused confusion and made us wonder what was that dollar amount and if we were being charged more than what was stated in the beginning. This is how one could be caught off guard and confused and end up overpaying. At one point, George left and called before he returned and stated he would be back within an hour and to have the checks (partial payment) ready, but we had questions and needed clarity, so no checks were ready when George arrived. Companies need to be more understanding when clarity is needed on the project and the amount we as customers are paying, especially when the beginning price of the job had increased (George did explain this could happen) and it was happening rather quickly, so we were trying to make sure we understood the price increase and why. As we paid for materials, I was told we are getting charged for what is used, yet what about the remainder of the materials? There was plywood, which my aunt wanted and did receive, and George questioned why she wanted it and he did ask politely, however, if customers are paying for the materials needed for the project, and there are leftovers, they should not be questioned why they need it. Yes, there were left over materials, and I wonder where did it go? To the next customer, to a warehouse? If customers pay for materials, and there are leftovers, either reimburse the customers for what was not used, or ask the customers if they would like to keep the materials, or if customers inquire about what is left and would like to keep it, they should not be questioned why. Later that day of completion, one of our trees was damaged, and no one said anything (not sure if they realized the damaged tree). Also, on Sunday I noticed the parking pole was down, my brother noticed it the day before. My brother told George about it, but he stated his men did not do it. However, the working truck was extremely wide, and our driveway space is narrow. Also, George was not present the whole time of the roofing project, so how can he say his men did not knock down the parking pole? Nevertheless, George and one of his workers did return the following Saturday morning to fix the pole. Would have liked to put 3.5 stars. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. I would give zero stars if I could. This company is a complete sham. George is probably one of the most rude, unprofessional, incompetent persons we have ever had to deal with and my husband is in the construction business. Not only were we sold a shitty roof that cost over $80,000, but they made us get the worse material that is prone to breaking. We had to replace 1/3 of our roof because it was improperly installed already and will likely have to replace the whole thing. George screamed at us, didn't show up, and cussed us out. I have never seen anything like it in my professional career. We are so disappointed that we went with this company and how little they did for us. We had to move on at the time because we were renovating our whole home but definitely one of the worst contractors that we have had to deal with. Once we have room to breath, they will be hearing from us as they basically robbed us with one of the worst roof jobs any contractor has seen. read more

The workmanship was outstanding but the customer is one of the worst I have ever encountered businesses don't realize without happy customers the will be out of business we as the people keep food in their mouths. The first problem I had was the delivery man the brought the materials to our job site pulled his pants down and urinated on our property and our neighbor has a two year old child and saw him through the window. The second problem was the building and safety person who works for them has the nastiest attitude I ever experienced towards me, remember I hired him not me working for him. I made an appointment for today November 10th at 4:00 PM. A person by the name of "John" showed up on time. I greeted him and let him onto the property. Mind you, he did not wear a mask. He asked me what I needed done as he walked through the gate from the alley. I told him and he said why would you want to waste the money if all you wood is bad. We were still at the gate when he said that. He did not inspect anything to make such judgement. Let's say he is experienced I would expect him to check the roof wood structure by examining closely and looking into the attic like the solar company's engineer did before their installation.   He proceeded to insult me by saying, and I quite "this work is done by monkeys" he was referring to a piece of wood (fascia) that I replaced because it got knocked down by tree removal people. I asked him to stop and told him that I did the work and did not appreciate the insult and kicked him off of the property.   This company should not send people like this "John" to people's property if they are going to behave in such an unprofessional and insulting manner. That is not a way to conduct business.   I would not and do not recommend doing business with this company solely based on this "John's" attitude and lack of professional conduct and respect. read more

Would never consider doing business with this company after our initial experience with Leo who came to do an estimate on a small roof repair. He walked in the door with a very negative attitude that kept getting worse through out the process. He was very through in his assessment of the situation and I do commend him for that, but the hostility he expressed when we tried to simply get an estimate for the work was ludicrous. I work with the public daily, while they might be skilled with their wok, I'll never find out because he opted to simply leave with out even giving us a ball park and was questioning from the beginning if we even wanted to get the work done. We just bought our first house - single family two story house out in Long beach with a beautiful tile roof that it turned out to be very old and deteriorated. We find out we have a leak at the very first time it rained, even after the inspection we had for closing the deal for the house and they told us roof is in a good condition and it might last another 10years or so. Wow. Had a hard time just getting an appointment for an estimate/bid. The very young girl on the phone started to ask questions that had nothing to do with getting a bid - and I very nicely told her as much. The questions were intrusive and frankly none of their business. Then I was put on hold, and her mom must have gotten on the phone. I'm not joking. She was aggressive and told me that this was all very standard when scheduling an appointment. lol. It's not standard to ask personal questions... wtf. Then she got snarky and I responded with... "it's your business, you run it as you wish but I'm uncomfortable and will just move on to the next roofing company." To which she responded "there are hundreds of people who need new roofs." The 5-star reviews are true. I reached out to few recommend roofers in my area (Altadena,CA) asking for bids and initially, did not know what type of roofing/shingle quality I wanted. After i talked with a friend who is a contractor and doing some research on the Owens Corning line i already knew what i wanted. I am very pleased with LA roofing and the entire team for their knowledge of roofing, the product itself, and hearing what they thought was best for my house. George was the only roofer that didn't make me feel rushed when I had a long list of questions for him. Once my project was booked, the team from the office worked with me on a schedule and on the day to begin the project, the team crew showed up every day on time and knocked it out--same day. Even though lots of product and supplies were strewn about my yard during the replacement process, they cleaned afterwards and I couldn't tell anything had happened. Critical: Professionalism DO NOT use this Company! They are Dishonest Liars, very Unethical this is why. Lied about cancellation time frame told me I had five days after I told Simon I wanted to take back wavier of right to cancel. Lied about the Bid.They give you one price then add thousands of dollars in the middle of the work saying you need this to pass inspection which was also untrue.I verified this with the city inspector. The permit fee costs $352.81 but they charged me $785.81 for them going down to get with out asking me if I would do it to save the extra cost. Then they would not give me the receipt when asked for it so they could hide this cost. I had to go to the city myself to get the receipt that is how I found out. They did not put a vent where it was agreed upon and made up lies why they did it that way. They wanted to give me a minimal discount and said another roofer could do it.
