We recently used Best Remodeling Solution (BRS) for several jobs we'd been procrastinating doing. We had our entire front lawn and driveway re-landscaped, our gate replaced, and our house and pool house re-stuccoed and repainted. BRS did a phenomenal job. We haven't stopped getting compliments from our friends and neighbors. And the speed in which they did this (front yard, driveway, gate, stucco and paint)? Incredible. Maybe a total of 2 weeks give or take a couple days. No one could believe how fast they got it done. Oz was incredibly communicative, collaborative and patient with all of our questions. "Sam" knocked on my door today (a sunday).... I have a "no solicitors" sign on my door which he ignored. He said he didn't notice it. He said he wasn't selling anything. I asked if his services were free. he said of course they weren't free. I'm quite sure he was selling something. the flyer he had showed the name BRS roofing which doesn't have a yelp page. the small print on the flyer showed "best remodeling solution" which is this yelp page. the phone number and emails matched. I have a large custom-built wall stone fountain that had fallen into disrepair. Repairing it required removing crumbling stone pieces and cutting/replacing with matching stone, then sealing the entire fountain. They also cleaned and sealed all my stone paths, a stone seat-wall, and barbecue/bar area. The job took two and sometimes three guys a total of three days. During the time they were here, I was kept informed of their arrival times and progress. When the job was complete, they cleaned up and everything looked new! I hope these will be my final edits to this review. 1) The gentleman from Best Remodeling Solution (I'll call them BRS from here on out) came to my place to bid on a garage flat roof replacement. They were easily my favorite of the people I saw; it was a quick inspection, a quick quote, and no pressure or hassle. Ultimately I chose them. They were unable at the time to inspect my main roof (also flat), but said they'd do that when the workers arrived for the garage job. That sounded good to me. 2) When the BRS guy returned to sign contracts, he pretended not to remember the quote, and quoted 1000 dollars higher than he had on the first visit. OK, maybe he really didn't remember. But that was irritating. Then, when I reminded him of the actual quote, he tacked on several hundred dollars in taxes to it. That's probably legit, but didn't feel right after the inflated quote memory. Still, it wasn't a bad price so I decided to go ahead with it. 3) On the day that work was to be done, a gentleman inspected my main roof as promised, and reported that it too needed a full replacement. But by then I knew this to be false, because all the other roofers had inspected it and told me either it could wait, or just a small portion needed replacing. He said something about cracked tiles leading to leaks, but my tiles are just ornamental. I chalked it up to "just trying to augment the job". But it rubbed me the wrong way. (NOTE: BRS has said they no are no longer working with this gentleman. I don't know whether this is true.) 4) I had been assured and reassured that no debris would fall down into the garage during the job, and that I could work below undisturbed. This was good news because I work from home in the garage. But after work began, debris did begin to fall into the room, and sent me scrambling to cover things with sheets. Ultimately I had to vacate when the air became too dusty. I alerted the workers above, who said the job was almost done & it wouldn't be much longer. (NOTE: BRS says the workers should have notified them and figured out together how to proceed. They didn't. BRS says they're no longer working with this crew. I don't know whether this is true.) 5) This meant after they were done & gone, I was going to have to move everything out of the garage, vacuum it all off, and vacuum out the garage. In the event it took two mornings and was not fun. But it kinda needed it anyway, if I'm honest. 6) A small piece of cement was missed on one of the new tiles. This is minor. I took a pic & sent it to BRS. They arranged to have the worker return. At that point I got confirmation that the tiles are only decorative; not for waterproofing. Once that was done, BRS asked me whether the job was complete to my satisfaction. I said yes, it was. I saved the stories of the upseller and the dust for the questionnaire. But the job itself was complete & I believe was done professionally. 7) An additional minor thing - I wish the crew had done a better cleanup job. It wasn't terrible, and it's probably difficult to get all the debris. But I didn't like finding nails in my yard (I'm a barefoot guy) and other bits of trash. There was even a wrapper left behind from one of their lunches. 8) BRS asked for the balance of the payment through Zelle. I couldn't do it (too large an amount) so instead the gentleman came to my gate to collect the check. He didn't ask for or mention their "how did we do?" questionnaire, which I had filled out. But he did urge me to leave a review on Yelp and Google. So I did. 9) When BRS saw the review they were horrified and contacted me. They offered $100 for my troubles, and asked me to change the review. They said they would never work with that crew again. I said OK. I changed the review. I waited several weeks. Payment never came. I changed the review back. They contacted me again. This time I left the review up. Still no payment. Finally, approximately 6 weeks after my initial review, They sent me $100 through Venmo. I sent it back. I'm fed up! Initially I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the gentleman really did think he'd quoted $1000 higher than he had. Maybe they really didn't know the guy who tried to upsell the job. Maybe they were too busy to remember to send money they promised. But I'm tired of the whole thing. Today, the gentlemen told me he's dealing with a COVID outbreak at their office, and that caused the delay. I don't want to make light of that. I wish them all quick recovery and good health. But I doubt that prevented them contacting me, or hitting send on Venmo. I believe the job itself was done well. If not, I guess I'll be back during the rainy season to adjust this review once more. But I can't recommend this company, given this experience. read more

The team at Best Remodeling Solution did a great job on our rooftop deck. We sustained some fire damage to the floor and I didn't know if it could be repaired and look uniform to the original deck. They power washed the whole entire deck, removed the fire damage in the area, and then painted the whole deck to make the color uniform. You wouldn't even know something happened there. That, and whatever paint they used made the floor better (it doesn't burn our feet if we're out there barefoot like the last surface.) They were also SUPER communicative and professional. Best Roofing Solution - The final product!! - Roofing Near Me - Tarzana, California

My house is located next to a freeway on a small hill so there is a slant to my backyard. This company poured cement in my backyard, but did so incorrectly and even damaged a part of my home while doing so. Oz Faigel was the person whom I contracted with and though he initially said he was not the owner of the company and was just helping his uncle, I found out after everything was done incorrectly, that he is the CEO and owns over 10 percent of the company based on CSLB records. I have a more detailed complaint with the California State Licensing Board, but to put it succinctly, the work was not done according to industry standards and though I gave the company plenty of time and opportunities to correct the errors or return my money so I can pay someone else to remove the concrete and pour it according to industry standards, Oz refused both and continued to lie about everything that was done despite the contract terms and obvious errors. I had two concrete experts review the work, one of whom is a retired inspector for the state contractor's licensing board these were the major issues with their work: 1. They failed to install rebar in violation of the contract terms. The rebar indicated in the contract was #3, but industry standard is #4 so even if they had installed it, it would have been the wrong type. 2. The contract indicates crack joints every "8 to 10 feet, yard square feet," but placed over 15 square feet or not placed at all were industry standard would require them to be placed. 3. The contractor has a "B" license, not a concrete license, C8, as required. 4. Contractor used psi 2500, but psi 3000 is industry standard. 5. A section of the original concrete was not removed and the company poured concrete on top if it. 6. The concrete began cracking in July, less than a month after it was poured. 7. After contract was signed, Oz told me that an additional fee of $2100 needed to be paid by me for alleged removal of "additional concrete" that was subsequently not removed and and a "second dump truck" needed for the concrete that never showed up. Oz knew I was in the middle of a refinance and the appraiser was arriving that next week so i agreed under duress and pressure, only to find out that the concrete was not removed and a second ruck never showed up. Also, he showed up on my front porch and demanded payment of the additional $2100 when I told the office that I was not going to pay for something that never occurred. I paid so he would leave and because he said he had to pay his employees. It was all a lie and a con. 8. The work was not done according to industry standards. As stated, I filed a complaint with CSLB, the contractor's bond company, and now here. I will also file a complaint with the Secretary of State, Yelp, and any where else to warn others of this company's fraudulent behavior. The reviews they have online are not to be trusted. Some may be real, but I wrote good reviews also before I realized that the work was done improperly and in violation of agreed upon contract terms. They discount the job $100 for good Yelp reviews and want the review before the work is finished. So, you think all is well, you give a good review, then find out it isn't and have to go back and change it or delete it. This company is shady. I want my money back, all of it. they violated the contract terms and don't even care or think they are above the law. They are not. read more

BRS did an exceptional job on the exterior painting of my home. They were very polite and professional during the preparation and repairing of cracks that needed to be corrected. I had a guest bathroom that required a stem to stern remodel and my normal contractor who redid my entire property (whom I adore) in 2019/2020 has been overwhelmed so I took a shot on this company off of the reviews. After an initial consultation with Oz, we agreed to terms. It took longer than the estimated time but given the chaos and uncertainty of securing materials during Covid I can overlook that. The subcontractors/laborers were the primary ones onsite and they were friendly, hard-working and addressed any concerns I had. I'm incredibly happy with the results and have no regrets in hiring them; should anything emerge that suggests there was anything shoddy I'll amend this review.
