This was a unique experience for us being out of towners. Fresh ingredients, efficient service and great customer service! We enjoyed their pizza and local beer. We ordered a mini mad dog (meat pizza) and a large (mega which is a doubled deck pizza). Although the service was fast our food was cooked in the fire with care. The food was so yummy!! We love this place. Amazing food drinks and prices! The staff is friendly and helpful and I really like the patio seating and open atmosphere. I'm addicted to the Marionberry lemonade. I love that the price is the same no matter how many toppings and the staff never minds if you ask for extra of something. My only complaint is that I didn't eat here sooner! read more

Well there goes my year and a half of being a vegetarian. I created my own pizza and requested only tomatoes, olives and pineapples on my pizza. Halfway through my first slice, I noticed there were pepperonis cooked under the cheese. Super disappointing. Especially considering I didn't order peppers or anything that could even remotely be construed as wanting pepperonis on my pizza. The manager offered to remake our pizza if we drive over and pick it up. Awesome. Don't have the whole allure of your restaurant be a totally customizable menu if you aren't even going to bother reading the order accurately. Very disappointed and annoyed read more

Food was good, but the customer service this evening was awful. Girl in the braids that was working tonight was very rude-didn't seem like she wanted to be there which was clearly signified by her short responses and careless work ethic. She made everyone feel rushed and uncomfortable. I usually love mod, the people, the environment, and of course the pizza. Today did not meet my expectations, I was reminded of what corporations were like. An employee who I have seen their before and who I had a perviously good interaction with, sexually harassed me. Some could argue I was asking for the attention, but I wasn't asking for this. He asked me if I had my nipples pierced as you could tell because I wasn't wearing a bra. Then he proceeded with telling me "I'd have to see that". Obviously flustered I didn't know what to say, cause I was uncomfortable. I completely shut down. Then he asked me for my number, I nicely declined and explained that I had a boyfriend. He walked away obviously bothered. I looked over and saw him talking with his coworker and looking over at me. My name was called and then told he had dropped one of my pizzas. Coincidence I think not? I couldn't believe it. Then he remakes the pizza and it is remade wrong. I was given a free coupon for next time, and given my money back. I appreciate the compensation, it was handled well. I've worked in the restaurant business for a while, and I hated being that person. I can always count on a great experience at the South Hill MOD. The food is delicious and fresh. The employees are friendly, helpful, and fast. The ambiance of the restaurant is fun and different. This place is a love hate relationship. On the one hand the pizza is brick over roasted, and you can name your poison with the toppings. (try not to get carried away). On the other hand the place has the atmosphere of a high school cafeteria. If you are on your lunch break and just looking for something good to eat well is is a 5 star lunch stop, but if you are looking for something on Friday night it is back down to 3 stars. read more

HMy husband and I decided to go on a date and MOD Pizza was place. My husband has been there previously but I had not been there yet. The restaurant was very clean. The only complaint I have is that the bathroom door was kind of sticky from people going into the bathroom with dirty hands and pressing on the door to get in. The napkins were always full. The drinks were nice and cold. You have a choice of two Ice T's and two Lemonade's. There was the normal selection of Fountain drinks. You can also get water. I particularly enjoyed the black cherry soda which was clear. It went really well with the pizza. I had a wonderful Pizza. The crust was wonderful. The sauce was fantastic. I especially enjoyed the fact that I can pick as many or as few items on the pizza as my little heart desires. For the same price. I chose spinach roasted asparagus roasted tomatoes artichokes blue cheese. My husband had anchovies grilled chicken bacon asparagus roasted garlic. They cut the pizza into four pieces. You walk into MOD and they take your order. They write your name down and call it out as soon as the pizza is ready. Then you walk up and get your pizza and take it back to your table. They will swirl a choice of toppings on top of your pizza when you pick it up if you would like. I chose not to have it this time. I was so excited to get the pizza I kind of rushed through my enjoyment of it. The next time I go here I will take it slower. Oh I forgot to tell you they have salads which basically contain everything but the pizza crust and a choice of one which does not have a name which is some kind of chocolate cake and they have 2 appetizers. I didn't have any of that so I can't really tell you what it tasted like but they looked absolutely delicious. It will not be a wasted day for you if you go here. The food is delicious. All staff were very kind and efficient. The service is great and we were asked how everything was / if we liked the food. What else can you ask for? read more

Pleasantly surprised when I walked in. Nice place to hang out. Pizza flavors and toppings fine and great service. My issue was with the crust. They offer only one crust type which is very flat, dry and crisp. Being from the NY/NJ area, I wouldn't even call it a crust, I'd call it a cracker. Anyway, hopefully, they'll add a new type of crust soon because I'd love to go again. read more

Not super thrilled about going to Mod tonight. First, the line was long, they kept holding up the line to make pizzas for the online orders. I understand they are important but maybe have a separate production line for online order and In-house orders. It took us over 45 minutes between arriving and getting our pizzas. Its not the staffs fault and they worked very hard despite the influx of people in line and the online orders. Second issue was the soda fountain was broken. I made the person whom I assumed was the manager aware of it twice, and was told she wasn't sure how to fix it. I did see her attempt to but was unsuccessful. We should have been made aware when we paid that the fountain was not working. Third I know taste is subjective but it was just kinda bland, there was nothing special about the crust, no flavor, tasted like a saline cracker And the toppings were not very flavorful. I have been here before and never had this experience, so I doubt I'll be trying it again. read more

I'm giving MOD 4 stars (.5 star lost for noise and .5 star lost for price) but other than that, this is a great place. Perfect for vegetarians and my husband, who is dairy free. MOD works like Subway/pita Pit but has several more topping choices that lets you get creative with your pizza option (feta, fresh cooked mushrooms, huge roasted garlic cloves, etc.) if you want plain old pepperoni go to Pizza Pipeline. But if you want to have a 3 inch thick high mound of personalized, fresh toppings this is the place! Oh, the service is great too! This was our first time here! My daughter loved her Dillon James pizza and she added pepperoni to hers! There were just crumbs left. My husband and I shared the Calexico -- it was so delicious. This is such a great, novel idea for a pizza chain! You pay a flat price for a pizza (good size for a personal serving) and the energetic staff make it for you (subway-style). You can pile on as many toppings as you want at no extra charge. The only drawback for me is that the crust is a little bit lackluster, but overall this place is fast and fun! read more
