Got off of work early and since this was my son's day off, decided we should eat at Mod for our special lunch treat and spend some time together. The gal that made our pizza, well she was delightful, engaging, and overall very positive. I can't say the same for the cashier, she seemed irritated or just did not care. Tried to engage in a small conversation and she was not having it. Didn't say much to us . I certainly did not want to go up when she called out that the pizza was ready. Had my son grab it and he said, I am not going back up there, she is not nice. He was too intimidated to tell her he wanted an extra sauce for his crust. In addition, the huckleberry drink tasted like flavored water but once again, instead of saying anything, we both did not want to approach her. In the future, I guess we will have to travel to CDA Mod as the staff there is friendly, helpful, and approachable. Not spending my funds at the South Hill location again. read more

Been downtown location several times and really enjoyed it. Came upon this one while running errands and as luck would have it, it was lunchtime! Love that I can get a decent pizza with a good veggie cheese. Many topping choices for all of the same cost. Careful though--I got carried away because I wanted one with all of the different roasted veggies, chicken, sausage, and artichoke hearts just cuz they looked good. The gal kept piling it on and by the time she was finished with the veggie cheese over all of it it was massive and difficult to eat. Kinda cold in the middle, too. I blame myself. I love mod. Always come back time and time again. But charging someone for a mega pizza when they ask to add bacon onto the cheese bread is sorta ridiculous. You sell unlimited toppings in a mod pizza for 8-9 dollars but want to charge someone 11 bucks just to add bacon when the normal cheese bread is around 5 dollars. I said I'd be ok with an extra charge but not telling me I was paying for a whole mega dough pizza with just bacon right when I was cashing out is very disappointing. The pizza is pretty darn good! Adding gorgonzola cheese is one of the best toppings! Word to the wise, don't over due the toppings! While it is tempting to keep adding them, you will regret it. I've been here many many times before due to me living in the south hill, but every time it doesn't fail to impress. The service is always great and the staff helps explain how to build the pizza every time which is extremely helpful for first timers. One item I usually get is the garlic strips. They come with your choice of sauce and the strips themselves are thin and pleasing. The food they make is also quick since the crust is thin, which both things are a plus for me. If you like being yelled at when you walk in the door, when you're placing your order, when you pay and when you pick your order up, this is the place for you. I however, don't like it. Ever been to a big city where you're trying to order or buy something, and the vendor has to yell because of the street noise, or the crowd or something... It's like that, except the only noise is from the other kids who are also forced to yell. It comes off like some kind of false urgency, even though you're often the only ones in line. Worse is when you answer their rapid fire questions delivered at 110db only to have them forget, or goof it up, and have to ask again! And don't get me wrong, I've been plenty of places that require people to yell to either get a job done, or to keep people out of harms way. This.... well, this isn't that. It makes me wonder where they find enough extroverted young people to staff the stores. They have to go home exhausted from the level of fake intensity they are forced to maintain. So, hats off to you, Mod kids, hats off. Long story short, and if you're still reading, here's the Cliff's notes. Good pizza and salads. Very filling. The vegetable choices are vast - roasted garlic, grilled asparagus, sweet hot peppers, roasted peppers... the meat selections looked good as well, although I can't speak to the quality as I'm vegetarian leaning vegan. The only thing I would change would be to add vegan cheese substitute - if MOD added Daiya to the menu for a buck extra, this would be supererer than it already is. 6 stars. If you're at Target, and you're looking to eat, take a right on your way out to your car. If you're just in the area, it's worth the drive. Our first time visiting was this past Tuesday. We are greeted enthusiastically and were immediately excited to try the pizzas. We were not sure what to order and all of the staff were helpful and nice. I ended up getting half Caspian and half Lucy Sunshine. They were so dang good I have no idea how I would ever choose between them. We ordered 6 pizzas total and all were great! The employees were awesome and the family and I have decided to go back the next time we are in Spokane! Well let me tell you and explain how MOD works...Spokane does have a fair share of good pizza places, but what sets MOD apart from the rest is a few things. ONE- at MOD you get to customize your pizza entirely, they have a great selection of toppings which lots of other pizza places don't have such as Gorgonzola cheese, pesto, roasted garlic..etc..or you can get one of their creations but, no matter how many toppings you choose to put on your pizza it will cost the same, which brings me to number TWO- Quality pizza at a very reasonable price! You can get small single serve pizza's that are 6" for each picky eater for just $4.47 or me and my finance got an 11" to share for $10.47! The 11" was plenty for both of us! THREE- The crust is fantastic! It is crisp and chewy with those delicious roasty bubbles...FOUR-the staff that was there when we ate were awesome, explained everything and didn't get frustrated with us as we kept nit picking imagine a set up similar to subway where you can go down the line and choose your toppings and they build it right in front of you.. we kept requesting things like, a little more cheese please, or can you just put a few more tomatoes on... but they never got frustrated with us. We fell in love with MOD back in Lynnwood, was our favorite place to get pizza north of Seattle. So we were so excited when we heard they were coming to Spokane...and right next to the new Target of all places! Double win! Went to the grand opening today and it was as great as I remember. Everyone was friendly, smiling, just lots of positive energy. You can tell they've got a great team of management and staff there. All the ingredients were super fresh looking and the ordering process was easy and fun. You can pick from their different pizza combos or custom make your own and it's all the same price. I didn't realize you can also make a salad with all the same pizza toppings which is a great healthy option. We did a custom with red sauce, minced garlic, topped with mozzarella, salami, shrooms, olives, red onion, roasted garlic, chopped basil and then finished off with pesto drizzle and balsamic fig glaze after baking in the oven. Love the thin crispy crust! They had photoboxx there with souvenir pics if you posted to IG, very cool! And my son got a ton of MOD stickers, tattoos and even a cluster of balloons on the way out. Waited 30 minutes in line when it was only 9 ahead of me in line. Got my pizza to see it was burnt black completely around the edges. I used to be in the restaurant industry and would never serve a burnt pizza. Noticed all the tables were dirty, no straws, and no crushed red peppers available by fountain stand. They hire amazing personalities - love that they all have different MOD shirts. The menu is subjective - you are totally in control. Fresh, friendly, FAST. I work downtown and go here at least a couple times a month. I typically start with the James Dean, but it ends up something completely different depending on my mood. First time not impressed. Mostly cause there was a line and I felt pressured to hurry. But went back because everyone said how good it is. So second time, loved it! It's just like Subway, only for pizza. One set price no matter how much or what you get put on it. Honestly cheaper then Subway. Love the thin crust they use. Not too heavy. i was going to review this after the first visit and i am glad i didnt. on opening night i had a pretty unfortunate experience and was met with unprofessional people when the problem was brought up. however they were all on their first day and i decided to give them another chance. they are getting the bugs worked out. i just suggest never saying "sorry if we messed up" it just sounds juvenile, not professional. especially if you arent going to offer solutions. that said. we now love this place immensely. the place has been open less than two weeks and we have been here 5 times. by far the best place to get food in this neighborhood. the pizza has a srispy chewy thin crust. it tastes excellent. so many topping options (hoping capers join the menu so i can make an anchovy caper pizza) they put a lot of everything on the pizza, i have found it is better when you tell them to go light on the toppings so it doesnt overcrowd. the price is right. the two of us can eat for about 14 dollars. finally the drinks. they have this caramelized pear iced tea. it is FANTASTIC! sweet and caramelly and pear-y and refreshing. they also have house made flavored lemonades and another tea maybe mint? all house made. the only thing we have gotten that i didnt like was the cinnamon strips. they were way too hard. maybe overcooked. kid liked em but put sugar on anything and hes sold. read more

I have eaten here and mostly do take out frequently as it is close to work and convenient. All of the staff are friendly, courteous and customer service oriented. I have rarely been in other fast food or relatively fast food restaurants where the staff was so happy looking and engaging with the customer.
