Didn't know what to expect but ya as pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and patience with us as they graciously described the process, how toppings work (and are FREE), and the different crust options (yes, even GF!). Ended up with more toppings on my pizza than planned and it was INCREDIBLE! Tried the cinnamon twists and cinnamon dipping sauce, those did also not disappoint (especially my 6-year old). This location seems to be hit or miss. Last time I ordered (using Door Dash) it was delicious. Today, I ordered the same pizza the same way but the pizza was missing the red dollops on top, there were huge chunks of artichoke instead of slices, and the garlic smell was unbelievable. I got roasted garlic last time and it was great. Today it was so overpowering that I went to another room to eat. I love garlic but it was all you could smell and taste. Don't get me wrong they are really friendly but it's always fun to joke around with the employees. I love that all the pizzas are the same price no matter how much it little toppings you put on. (Gluten-free crust does cost $2 extra) They have a vegan cheese option and the pesto is nut-free, so any dietary concerns should be able to get a pizza or salad that they'll enjoy. You can get a personal size for $4.67 no matter how many toppings you add, which is an amazing value! Some of their toppings are very gourmet, too, so you can go fancy for cheap. I called the store number right away when we got the order (at 10:13pm) and the guy who answered was very nice, took my name, and said he'd make a note in the office to replace the order. One of the pizzas we ordered was barely cooked (a mega), and was doughy. It also had no sauce, but was selected while ordering and confirmed via email. It was...OK. As others have stated, it's the Subway of pizza places. I went with a "make your own" and while I was satisfied with my choices, I found the pizza to be quite bland--by pizza standards. What I was not satisfied with was the sauce person. I watched her painstakingly try to spread out one tablespoon of sauce, as if she was afraid to add more. When she was finished, the sauce was 4 inches from the edge, so I relieved her stress by asking for more. She happily obliged. Anyway, the pizzas are pretty cheap, but they aren't all that filling. The crust is thin, which I like, but it's so thin that it hardly held up to my minimal toppings. I saw people with toppings 6 inches high--I can only wonder how they picked up a slice to eat it. At any rate, if you LOVE pizza and are positively starving, one of these pizzas won't be enough. Get two, or one pizza and one salad. All the above being said, this is not a "destination" kind of place. I think it's great to take your kids to (which will be the only reason I return), but it's not great for a couple of adults who want quality, filling pizza. read more

Wow!! Visiting Salem again. All I can say is I do NOT go around giving five stars out to just anyone. This chain pizza place opened I. Seattle apparently in the late 2000s and has expanded to locations in Oregon and California. When I heard it was a "quickly prepared" pizza I thought, no thank you, microwave Pizza. WRONG!! Basically you choose the size and toppings you want on your pie ( think Subway) as far as choice. The pizza's are then blasted in an 800 degree f oven for no longer than four minutes. They also have amazing salads to choose from. Best Caesar I have ever had ( I ate there 7 times in less than a week)!! It's crispy, absolutely delicious and a mini costs under five bucks, medium under eight. Salads are extremely reasonable too!! You will not be sorry. There is one in Irvine on Alton Parkway. Give it a try!! I would give it six stars if I could!! I thought Amici's Pizza in the Bay Area was my favorite. ( still is, but now it's an even tie)!! read more

I would go to Mod whenever I was out south all the time pre-covid. Since covid has happened and I've been getting my food curbside I have been more than disappointed in the quality of the pizza. When I order a chicken and bacon and I counted 5 small pieces of chicken on the whole pizza and large areas of the pizza with barely even cheese compared to before where they would always load it up and make it immaculate. Food was good, but the place is too noisy - in serious need of some acoustic tiles. A couple comments - one was they put my salad on the counter while another customer was being waited on. If I could give this place 20 stars I would. This place reminds me of chipotle but with pizza! It's really awesome that you have so many toppings to choose from. And they move pretty fast as well. The pizza is like a flatbread but so delicious! I usually don't like flat bread pizza but this is really good. The pricing is great too! I see plenty of negative reviews here from folks apparently expecting Chicago-style, which this is not- it's a very nice thin, crisp crust, and their topping portions are just about perfect to maintain that. A huge cheese bomb on top of a crust like that would leave you with a gooey mess. Considering that these are basically fast food prices, they do a great job. Upon entry into MOD pizza the employees were anticipating my arrival and all said hello in unison. It was nice to know they acknowledge everyone who enters. The menu is expansive with the option to customize or "Mod" anything. Pretty cool! I appreciate that the employees who were in direct contact with food were wearing gloves, but I noticed an employee touch his face and did not re-wash their hands and put on new gloves. From order to receipt of my pizza it was a matter of 5 minutes and 30 seconds. Insanely fast for pizza!
