Meat, sauce, and vegetable selections were amazing. We did feel rushed when we went in. The worker there kept rolling her eyes when she realized we had a big group of people and a big order. The workers also didn't know what the toppings were for some of the posted pizzas. They kept just asking us what we wanted because they didn't know what was supposed to go on. The food itself wasn't bad. Service was great. We ordered two pizzas. My girlfriend got the Dillion James (she doesn't eat meat). Then I got a custom MOD. She wants pesto on hers and I wanted BBQ on mine. They put the pizzas in the wrong box which ended up with wrong topping sauces. Her pizza got meat on it cuz they have a messy salad bar. I don't enjoy pesto. They never have messed up even when they are super busy. Just little disappointing. read more

Ive become such a fan of MOD Pizza over the years. I'm traveling all the time and I can rely on them to give me my Pizza fix when I'm desperately in need of one. Everybody in this particular location was really really friendly and excited to serve my entire group. Stephen, the manager keeps everything very clean and expedient. I'm a MOD fan. I like being able to customize my pizza and I like the thin crispy crust. The sauce is unremarkable but not bad. Generally the ingredients are high quality and fresh. Tonight I opted to add "roasted garlic" hoping it would be a creamy sweet treat and I was slightly disappointed. It was crisp and charred but not "roasted". Other than the the pizza was great. Service is good and quick, but don't ask them to slice the pizza into smaller slices, you will get a bit of snark... yet they obliged. There was no beer on tap tonight which was strange but I probably didn't need beer. The No Name cakes are a better-than-hostess Ding Dong and was an enjoyable walk down nostalgia lane. Let me preface this by saying that the MOD pizza on Lancaster is great. The Commercial one, not so much. We got there, and the line was short, only 2 people ahead of us. But the wait in line was long. Followed by a short wait for our food after going into the oven. And that is because it was not in the oven nearly long enough. The food was undercooked. An extremely rude woman behind the counter yelled at me when I pointed at a cheese I wanted because she was grabbing the wrong cheese. There are no labels on their food bins, so it's hard to identify exactly what is what. She yelled, "get your hands behind the counter!" One, my hand was not over the counter, two, there is a much nicer way to say what she needed to say to a paying customer! This was at 10:44 a.m. on Sunday, the 22nd of September. I will never be back to this location, that was completely uncalled for & a disrespectful way to interact with a customer. Rico Suave at the counter needs more training on customer service. I brought my girlfriend in after bragging about the place for 2 months. I asked for a little bit more mozzarella because the first coating was pathetic and sloppy. He literally looked at me straight in the eyes and sprinkled a teaspoon more with no smile. I wasn't going to ask him again for more. I asked him about the asiago cheese and he replied it has the same flavor as mozzarella. Okay it was the start of a very bad experience. Literally the pizza came out with more sauce covering the crust than cheese and that was also all you could taste. There is more cheese on a $1 frozen Totino pizza.. The 11 people in front of me all got exactly the pizza they wanted. I don't know why this guy singled me out, but he destroyed my experience and also someone who had never been there before. There were 3 employees that were helpful and nice, but dwarfed the overall experience because of the other jerks. If you are instructing the employees to build the pizza MODS way, then don't let the consumer believe they're going to get it their way. Your employees have so much attitude when you ask for more cheese. It would be different if on the first run they put a decent amount of cheese like every other pizza place does. I would choose NO stars if possible. The pizza today I ordered for a friend who had never experienced Mod Pizza was awful. It was served to her cold and possibly had ONE SKIMPY PEICE OF CANADIAN BACON that was TORE, not cut, into pieces and tossed over the large pizza in its entirety. Providing a major wardrobe faux pas in covering the poor pizza...it DIDN'T cover the pizza. And the pizza, well....looked completely malnourished. Though it SHOULD have had no less than NINE toppings...It looked positively malnourished. I kid you not. When I brought the oversight up to the Manager on duty, Isaiah he called himself, he appeared to forget he was employed in maintaining a Pizza store in amid a mass of competitors just aching for the chance to gobble up his customers for themselves and Isaiah did less than nothing to address the poor little malnourished pizza. Even upon my offering him a second chance to fix the issue...He chose not to. Basically...and RUDELY, waiving us off as though we were flies (well dressed and well manicured 56 & 75 yr old "flies" albeit) in his precious ointment. Never have I received such treatment and I'm not keen on repeating the experience any time soon. I'm appalled. In addition, I am now thoroughly embarrassed at the glowing recommendation I had provided my friend about the scrumptiousness of the pizza prior to talking her into having Mod's Pizza today. But, in my defense, it HAS been several years since I've ordered from Mod. I can see it has changed dramatically and needless to say, I WILL NOT be wasting time nor money there again. We ordered a Caspian, Sophia, maddie, and two mad dogs. We always love their pizza. This place was for some strange reason extraordinarily slow. I have never waited 45 mins in a line to finally getting my pizza and we got here at 7:38pm. The air conditioning inside is full blast and we are freezing. The wind is now picking up outside. We are so cold we have to get a box so we can leave and do our 1 hour 20 minute trip back. Nor can I finished my wine as we are driving. No open containers. The pizza was good but what does that matter if you can't enjoy your food without shaking uncontrollably? I said something to the lady about it being so cold inside and outside. Don't you love the deer in headlights look and reply "oh is it cold outside now?" Absolutely zero concern beyond calling out names. I am giving this MOD a 1 Star based on slow service, disconnected employees and no ability to gauge restaurant environment for customers. This mod location was outstanding! They made our pizza as amazing as the other Mod locations we have been to, with friendly service and a welcoming, clean atmosphere. They allowed us to bring our golden retriever inside and even gave her a bowl of chicken! It was such a sweet experience. I'm always a fan of the music and overall fun design of the interior. And then, this is one of one of the pizzas (see photo)---lots of empty spaces with only sauce, and very slowly and intentionally they plopped all the sausages in the middle. Then they told us they had it, but they never actually made it. At 12:15 they started making it. None of their workers wore face masks or hairnets. In the summer they have the roller doors open so there was a few uninvited flies buzzing around. All in all a great place with good food and service. If the kids love it then it is a winner! To back to back Fridays this has been their request. I like the Pizza here and this time choose to create my own that I was very happy with. They definitely have all the trimmings, but my kids are simple with cheese and sausage pizzas. You can add a salad and have some great selections for beverages other that the carbonated staple. They also had a desert that was like Ding-Dongs and we always make sure we get em while they last. Loud and lively atmosphere that is perfect for a fun filled family night. One note is that sometimes their ordering system can seems drawn out and information filled. The employees seem to be in quick mode and working to get the orders going- my advice would be more customer service oriented and take your time explaining this process. Not try to move things along quickly. That was my not complaint and I feel an easy fix. We will be back and see if that 4th Star is earned. read more

This is a great way to make your own style pizza. They have great toppings and the sauces are good. Pesto is great! You can put as much as you want on and whatever you want that they offer. It doesn't change the price. Or you can get whatever you want as a salad. Awesome! The ice tea is really good. I have been going since 2014 when they opened in Hillsboro. The only problem is sometimes they go so fast it is hard to keep up. Remember you can ask for a sauce drizzled on top of your pizza when it comes out of the oven. And I did get too many ingredients on once and it tasted like a jumble. So, think about what you want as you wait in line... look at menu card ingredient list to help you decide. At the register, They have added new little chocolate cakes that just melt in your mouth. Yum. Try it! read more

Allow me to clarify my 1 star rating. The restaurant overall gets FIVE STARS. The pizza is wonderful and generally so are the employees; however, one employee caused this review. I would normally average it out, but she made for a very upsetting dinner time tonight, and this was not the first time. This is usually one of my favorite places, but the last few times I've been in, there has been an older woman working there who seems to have a sour attitude and make snarky comments. Tonight (3/3/19 about 6:30pm), was the last straw with her and I felt I needed to write something. The line was backed up to the round table in the corner. The young man who was starting the orders was busting his butt with a smile on his face and a welcoming personality. He was really hustling while he juggled face to face customers while also starting the internet orders that kept coming in. There were other employees rapidly folding boxes, pressing dough, helping wherever they could and trying to get everyone helped. At least 8 pizzas were backed up waiting for the next set of toppings. This older woman wore her hair in braids, had a red shirt and a nasty attitude. Not only was she rude, but so slow she brought the line to a halt, causing the backup of orders. She was at the meat spot and counting each pepperoni she slowly put on while trying to have an in-depth conversation with the man whos pizza she was making. During that time I got to hear where she grew up and that she was an Army brat among other details that she shared. The customer to which she was attending seemed uninterested and the rest of the line was getting longer and more irritated with how long it was taking. When it was finally my turn to get toppings, she snapped at me about what meat I wanted. I felt as if I had done something wrong by asking for chicken and then she counted out about 7 pieces to put on my dough followed by a handful of bacon. When I asked if it always took this long to get a pizza completed, she snottily responded that she was "just trying to grin and bare it." (Honestly I was gently trying to get her to speed up). After finishing my pizza she proceeded to snap at the man behind me when he was selecting his meat toppings, also. It was hard not to say anything, but I just wanted to get out of the way so that the other patrons could get their meal, too. One should not have to be upset when treating themselves to a meal out. The young lady that had the finishing spot, completed the pizza as quick as possible and was very friendly. Everyone else, and I mean everyone including the employees who were coming out from the back room with clean dishes and more toppings were hustling to get the customers taken care of. This woman was casually moving at her own speed, slow, despite the growing line of guests and how fast her co-workers were moving. The pizza was good, but tonight, just didnt taste as delicious. I guess from now on I will be looking inside to see if she is working, prior to coming in. If she is... well...Qdoba is just as close, but not as good. read more

Went here on a Saturday night. Had not been for quite some time but had always enjoyed it. Lines were still as long as ever. It is amazing how MOD has kept up the popularity here. I ordered a Calexico and my daughter ordered a custom made one. Place was busy, hard to find a seat but we managed. Pizzas were as good as i remember and i love their caramelized pear ice tea. we were in the Commerial St. Store this evening @ 4:57pm today. As we entered their were4 employees standing at the soda machine area, we walked up stood there for 3-5 min before someone came over and said someone would be right with us. As we we're waiting I noticed the food stations to be a mess with corn in the cheese, cheese in the sausage etc. finally someone came to help us, we ordered and while waiting i noticed the store was very dirty and unkept. our order was to go even though our receipt states order #94 - HERE. When we got home(4mins) our pizza's were very disappointing the crust had the texture of cracker bread it was so stale I couldn't hardly eat it. We have Mod at least 4-6 times a yr. and this is the first time that I looked at my husband and said " we need to find somewhere else to have pizza" I don't know that I could go back and not worry that I'm going to get food poisoning. read more

My favorite pizza location in Salem that is affordable, personalized, and tasteful! It's (estimate) $7.50 for a MOD which feeds one person. I love that the cost will remain the same regardless how many toppings you get (including proteins!). I love the atmosphere here, the staff are amazing & the pizza is perfect every time.
