Mikes way! I am a guru in subs and hoagies and can tell you that for a franchise it is a sub above. Ask Devito

I always have a great customer experience and meal here. They move pretty quickly and usually have quite the lunch rush. I've never had an issue with my sandwich and I've never encountered an unfriendly employee. Will continue to frequent this location as long as I live in Salem. It can be a bit loud if you sit down but only because it's usually full of people eating inside. There's also a handful of tables outside with umbrellas read more

Sent a lengthy msg. to Jersey Mike's corporate headquarters who responded that they would be sharing this review with the franchise owner. This was a month ago and I've not received a response from the franchise owner. So thought I'd share it here. "I ordered a roast beef and provolone with swiss sandwich for take out. Specified mayo both sides. What I received was a sandwich saturated with 3+ tblsp of mayo on each side. Had to scrape off all toppings to be able to take only a few bites. Tossed it. Perhaps a misunderstanding or training issue. NTL, I didn't receive what I expected or could eat. This West Salem store has always been a hit or miss place, but I continue to visit for the convenience, hoping for a hit. Can't justify another visit." read more

Not a lot of smiles; however they were very busy. Sandwich was very good and made perfectly. Couldnt find a clean table. So i used a few napkins to clean it myself. We will be back to try this one again. read more

This is the worst location on their customer service. I have never been mistreated at this location before until today. They had a delivery from Sysco and the driver blocked me in so I couldn't leave after purchasing my food. And I was highly upset because I was ready to leave . I went back inside and asked how long it was gonna take because he shouldn't be allowed to block in customers. One of the workers was like Im blocked in too I cant leave. But he was behind the counter. I said look this is ridiculous I want to leave and no one cares. Then this other worker said there is nothing we can do until he leaves. And he seemed really rude as well. And that just upseted me more I asked for a manager and Corporate number and he said look it up I dont know it. And that was after I told him he didn't have the right to be rude to me I just wanted to leave. I was highly upset and I felt like my view and point didn't matter. To finally get to leave after 10 to 15 min of paying for my food. To get home and my partner call and speak to someone to forward the insdent to someone for it to be the same that was rude to me finally saying he was the manager and he didn't appreciate my behavior in his location and he just wanted me to leave. He down right lied and said I asked the driver to.leave he told me no and you asked the driver to leave and that is just that . He never went and asked the driver to leave or even move his truck to adleast let me out. I will never step.foot in this location ever again . read more

Here's one thing I find bizarre about Jersey Mike's. They make a good Philly Cheesesteak, not great but good. Actually, graded on a curve, that is, compared to the cheesesteaks you get outside of the 100-mile radius around Philadelphia, Jersey Mike's cheesesteaks would be probably be considered great. In or near Philadelphia, decidedly average. Anyway, so let's just say they make a good traditional cheesesteak. Back to the thing that is very weird about Jersey Mike's and their cheesesteaks. They do not stock ketchup in their stores for their customers to put on their Philly Cheesesteaks. None of the stores do. This despite the fact that 95% of the traditional Philly Cheesesteaks sold in the United States are eaten after they are liberally garnished with ketchup. When I asked the guy behind the counter why they don't have ketchup in their sandwich shop to put on the Philly Cheesesteaks, he looked blankly at me and said, "No one wants ketchup on those sandwiches". I countered with, "Everyone that knows anything about cheesesteaks eats a cheesesteak with ketchup. Have you ever been in Philadelphia?" He replied, "Nope, but it doesn't matter, this is the way we make 'em here." "I have no complaint about the way you make them, but, for God's sake, have some ketchup for people to put on their cheesesteak! Is it so hard to stock the #1 condiment people want on one of your most popular sandwiches? Because, to me, those seem like pretty easy dots to connect." "I mean, why wouldn't you want to do something so easy that makes your customers so happy?" Irritated, he says, "Sir, if you don't like our cheesesteaks the way we prepare them, then you're free to buy one somewhere else." "You're just not getting what I'm saying here. The problem is not the cheesesteak. The problem is the lack of ketchup with which to adorn the cheesesteak." "We're not going to stock ketchup just to make one person happy." (sigh) The conversation I'm describing happened today, but this problem is not recent. My wife and I sometimes order the Philly Cheesesteak to go, sometimes to eat in, and when we eat in the restaurant, we take ketchup with us to put on the cheesesteaks we get. You know, like people would normally eat a cheesesteak, that is, with ketchup. We've been doing this workaround for years. It's a pain, but the sandwich is good, so we put out the extra effort. Sure would be nice if they just had some bottles (or even squeeze packets) of ketchup, though. Millions of people that have had actual Philly Cheesesteaks in or around Philadelphia at some point in their lives would be grateful if they'd just stock some ketchup. ADDENDUM: As you can see from the comment below, the store manager responded (immediately) and he/she says there will be ketchup available for people who order Philly Cheesesteaks. I'm going to take him/her at their word and change my rating to 5 stars. I'm happy about ketchup being available. Happy for me personally and happy for everyone else from the Northeast, people that have been eating cheesesteaks with ketchup for many decades. Frankly, a place that serves cheesesteaks and doesn't have ketchup is like a pancake house that won't give you syrup. So, good on that manager. read more

Really very disappointed. We were in there a few days ago. We have always had great service, staff have been friendly etc. when we went in not a single hello'. Went to Order as usual and two employees were standing with backs to us and whispering between them. One of them looked at us and said can I help you and when I went to respond again he turned and he started whispering with the employee. Finally got our order in and a couple other people came in. They ordered the same as my bf and another employee asked them what ingredients they wanted. We are waiting and then got our drinks and sat down waiting for them to ask him what he wanted on his sandwich. They did not and next thing they brought it to our table. When we got home with our sandwiches we noticed the bread had been cut haphazdly to where The bread was so thick on top and we feel like our sandwich was of poor quality. The atmosphere was really tense and you could hear a pin drop. When we left there were no other customers and still no acknowledgement of thanks for coming in , nothing. I guess we may be looking elsewhere for lunch next time which is really disappointing as we have always loved Jersey Mikes and don't have one in Independence/Monmouth and always go into Salem to shop. Thanks for the lousy experience. read more

The Manager, Tiffany is the best! Her level of dedication goes above and beyond. Every time we come, like once a week - she is there working just as hard as her team. The sandwhichate like back east great taste and fantastic service I would recommended if u haven't tried it

There wasn't a customer in the store when I walked in. I was greeted quickly and told where to order...where I waited....and waited.... while the four employees did who knows what. The fellow who greeted me finally took my order but then proceeded to clean the meat slicer until it gleamed. (He did a great job with that.) After many minutes he put together my sandwich. It was a terrible sandwich. Little else but lettuce and way over oiled. I won't be returning to a Jersey Mikes. read more

I've been to this Jersey Mike's more after moving to a different part of town. I've been less than impressed with the service and quality of this location than some of the others around town. Jersey Mike's offers an app whereby you can have your order delivered to your car outside, along with pick up inside and ready-to-go options. Several times here I've arrived and checked in, then waited past the expected "done" time as indicated on the app. From the car, you can see the rack on which they leave orders to be picked up. Every time I've had to wait past the time, I've gone in and had to locate my bag, which was waiting and cooling off (I order hot food here). It's gotten to the point where, upon arrival, I enter and check the rack for my order. If it's there, I take it and leave. If it's not, I return to my car to wait. As I can see the rack from my car, I can see if something new is placed there. Several times now I've had to go back inside and find my order is waiting behind the counter, ignored. It's a minor quibble, as the food is consistent (although sometimes the meat is not well packed in the bread and it will slide out while in the bag). And to the manager's credit, the last time I pointed this out as an issue, the manager called me from what sounded like a car phone to set the issue right. These aren't deal breaking issues and it -is- just a sandwich order, but the lack of attention to detail has been shown to be pretty consistent. It would be nice if this area was addressed better at this location. read more

I really don't like ordering from this location, and I especially hate ordering on-line from this location. This is the closest Jersey Mike's and it's about 45 minutes away, so it's a rare occasion that we order sandwiches, and when we order on-line, they always seem to get something in the order wrong! My grandchildren enjoyed their sandwiches, but mine was not right and not edible! And I wasted my birthday reward to boot!!! I don't think I'll be ordering from you guys in the future (especially since you have NEVER offered to make it right) read more

*Semi-Recommended* 12:20pm 12-10-21 I am going to be gracious and give this place a 3 Star Review at this time. This is my very first time ever coming to this place, we are in the process of transitioning from California to Oregon and wanted to try something new and I have to say - *Not Impressed* Order Taker: Chris - No smile when we came to the front. But she was OK, I could tell she was under a lot of stress. It would be great to be able to have the very first face we see to have a welcoming energy. But because of the stress we took the stuff after her hard and it made it difficult to deal with the attitudes from the others. **Training Needed** Sandwich maker: Kyle - Muffled the words if I wanted the 3 sandwiches Mike's Way, since it was muffled and I have never been there I did not understand what he said. So I said we want the works on the sandwiches, when I said the works he gave me an attitude *So Mike's Way!!!* So I said yes. I asked for extra lettuce and extra  Peppercini's *He sighed like it was a hassle to ask for extra toppings* I then asked for mayonnaise on the top and he said with an attitude *they all come with it* When he wrapped 2 of the sandwiches he stuck those in a bag, then when he wrapped mine he just handed it to me assuming I was going to just eat it there. **Training Needed** I watched this man with the lady before us and when she requested for mayonnaise he did not say anything like he was ignoring her. I could tell it made her feel embarrassed about even asking. (We should not be made to feel this way and since we are paying with our hard earned money we deserve to be treated with respect) Register: Calvin - When I was trying to say the type of sandwiches we got, 2 #9 Mini's 1 #6 Regular. Since its my first time there I said 2 regular #9 and he threw an attitude saying *Those are Mini* if he knew what they were he should have just taken care of it instead of expecting me to say what they were. **Training Needed** (Name on Receipt was Tiffany which means Calvin was not using his own drawer. In all my experiences with being a manager, sharing draws is strictly prohibited, so in my personal/professional opinion that is not ok) Supervisor: Tiffany, I want to thank you for taking the time to speak to me when I requested an audience with you, I wanted to bring my experience to your attention, so this matter could be dealt with in a manner of using this as a training for your current and future employees. But what I do not appreciate is the fact that they way you handled this situation was with excuses about being short handed 5 people, and nodding your head with the look of *Omg I cannot handle this right now* I also felt a little rushed in trying to convey my experience to her. Other then that she was great at listening and taking the appropriate action in making me feel like she truly wanted to make my experience as best as she could. So thank you I completely understand how it feels to be short handed. *I worked on New Years Eve by myself at Jack in the box, doing the front and drive through orders, along with making the food on the grill and the food on the fryers. I did not ask for or imply I wanted the refund nor money back for the experience we recieved, but I do thank you for doing it and giving us 3 sandwich vouchers. So because you took action to try your best to fix this experience I am doing a 3 star review and will be willing to definitely come back and see if I get a better experience next time. In all Honesty with a little bit more of the RIGHT training Tiffany would be an exceptional manager. But from what I saw she let the stress of the day and the stress of being short handed overwhelm the most important role of the position she holds. **Standing strong and being the piller of the shift and role model for the employees comes first** when the manager is stressed and allows it to show especially when taking care of customers needs, it effects the team GREATLY. Once Tiffany overcomes this little hurdle I can tell you from my personal al and professional experience that she will be one of the best managers you will ever have. So a lot of encouragement and support is what she needs right now. My biggest desire is for you to use this opportunity to pay attention to on what needs to happen and what type of training is very much needed. *Suggested Training* Customer Service How to leave Personal life at Door Connecting to the customers needs Not correct the customer How to work together as a team Communication Not to make assumptions Bag all sandwiches or ask eating in or taking to go read more

Pretty disappointed with my first experience at Jersey Mike's. I basically had to remake the sandwich when I got home. They didn't put mayo or mustard or anything on my sandwich, nor did anyone ask me if I wanted them. I mean, I suppose I can understand why you wouldn't just put it on there by default, but why would you NOT ask the customer if they want those things?! I was standing right in front of you... You don't just knowingly hand a man a dry sandwich, that's not right. I paid $16 (twice the cost of the exact same sandwich at their competitors) for a sandwich that I had to essentially finish making for them. If I wanted to make my own sandwich (lesson learned I guess), I would have just gone to the grocery store. I do not think I will be going back. read more

5 stars for the food 0 stars for messing up 2 of my last 5 orders, causing me to have to drive back so they could fix it. The other day I almost drove off with the wrong chips that were in the bag that was delivered to my car. I can deal with the wrong chips, but not mistakes on my sandwiches. I also had an extremely frustrating experience where I ordered my food online. They did not receive my order. I had the mobile receipt and the money was taken from my account. No big deal really. What was a big deal was that instead of just making my order immediately, they spend 25 minutes trying to figure out what went wrong while I stood there and got angrier by the second. That could have been done at a later time. All they had to do was make it and send me on my way. I Complained to the manager who did absolutely nothing. Take your time. Read the ingredients that are right in front of your face. You can do better. I think. read more

My family and I have been enjoying our local Jersey Mike's for years. Though I personally don't eat meat, they have an excellent veggie sandwich and you can add some fresh avocado. Unfortunately, they hire immature young adults who think it's funny to add bacon to the veggie sandwich as some sort of joke. They are ignorant to the reasons a person may not eat meat. They are ignorant to how sick a non-meat eater can get if accidentally consuming meat. For my safety, my family will no longer be patronizing this establishment and I wanted to warn any other non-meat eaters to check your food very carefully. read more

Let me start by saying that I love love love coming here, and do so often. Great food, friendly staff, and I've never been disappointed. Today, however, I was. The owner stopped by while I was waiting in the store today, and I was appalled by the way she treated her staff. She stopped by to let her granddaughter use the bathroom, and left. When one of the young employees complemented her about her grand daughter, she walked past while making a snide remark. No respect or curtousy whatsoever. Not even a simple 'thanks' or smile. I just thought it was rude, and the employees didn't seem to deserve the bad attitude presented by their boss. I'd love to give this sandwich shop five stars, but the owner doesn't deserve five stars. The employees, however, do. read more

Stood there for 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Two employees taking their break, totally fine, but come on. Five minutes and not even a "Hello, we'll be right with you." Ridiculous. Then once my order had been taken there was no sense of urgency to get the sandwich made. The guy left my order to answer the phone and take another order. Clearly my order, the person standing in front of them, wasn't the priority. Too bad. My first visit to a Jersey Mikes is probably my last. read more

I wanted to give this 3 stars, my wife wanted 5, so 4 it is. Pros: Fresh sliced meats and cheeses and larger selection than most sandwich shops (cheesesteaks and panini's for example) Pretty quick service for cold subs, others take longer understandably. Cons: Price (many large subs are $13) and chips/drinks add about $3. Not many condiment/veggie options. If you go the most common route of getting it "Mike's Way" then you better love italian seasonings and oil, because they will drown it in that stuff. Lastly the menu is confusing. Each sandwich has a number as if it's a combo, but on the board the numbers make no sense, are all out of order, and if you order by the number, the staff usually doesn't know what you mean. For a higher quality sub that's worth every penny, try Firehouse subs. read more
