I was immediately impressed with the affordable cocktail prices on the chalk board menu by the bar. Typically $8, $9 and $10 cocktails are on a Happy Hour menu. Valiant prices their drink specials for anytime of day which is refreshing and will bring me back for sure. The food menu is easy to read, and affordable. Not a huge menu but perfectly curated. It consists of salads, wings, sandwiches, burgers, and BBQ. We ordered a house salad, a Lil Val Smashburger (special) which comes with a pint of beer for $12 and a Crème Screamer Burger $15.00. This Smashburger has pepper jack, bacon, torched marshmallow fluff, red onions, chili sauce on a handmade sesame bun. Both burgers were incredible and true smashburgers. The Lil Vals burger was juicy, cheesy with the perfect amount of burger sauce and the fresh house bun sets it apart. The Screamer burger with an extra patty. I have been here a couple times over the last 90 days. I have had a couple different burgers and have tried a bite of a couple sandwiches that my wife ordered. The food is outstanding! Absolutely incredible actually and I will definitely be back. If I had only one place to choose in town for a burger Valiant would likely be my choice. I usually have about 4 burgers per week from a variety of places around the area. When I say Valiant is a top burger choice you can feel confident. I ordered the Cindy Burger with fries and a side of ranch and my friend ordered the Rueben with the same side. We split the dishes so we could share the food experience. The burger was really good! Seasoned well and even had a hint of spiciness to it somehow. The produce on it was fresh and the bun was toasted to perfection. The Rueben I wasn't so thrilled with. It had good flavor but the meat, to me, was too thick and too fatty. The fries were seasoned and hot and the ranch dressing on the side seemed very fresh. Had a rather odd experience here. They seemed to be out of a lot of stuff at noon on a Wednesday. For everything we ordered, they had to make sure they weren't out of something. Sandwices came with soup, but they were out of soup, but we could just get the sandwich without the soup for the same price. I just kinda stared blankly and accepted it. Later someone came to the table to tell us they would give us a salad with our dishes. That awkwardness aside, we ended up ordering a variety of things, and everything was really, really good. This was my second attempt at Valiant. My partner and I both ordered the "Happy Wife" (vegetarian) with a side of breakfast potatoes. Before we got anything, a server came over to inform us that there was only one bagel left, so I asked if they could make my sandwich with a croissant. They said yes. It's took about 20 minutes for our food to come out to us, and I immediately clock large chucks of brisket mixed in with the potatoes? I asked our server if they had another side item that did not include meat. The potatoes weren't listed as having meat, only onions and bell peppers, and he informed me that the potatoes shouldn't have any meat in them. I picked up a large chunk of brisket on my fork to show him and he immediately went to grab me another portion, this time without the meat. I started in on my sandwich. It's just whatever, fairly bland and the croissant was cold. My partner's sandwich fell apart all over the plate before he even took a bite. I think the bagel is to blame here as mine at least held up. I finish my sandwich and go to try the potatoes. THERE'S STILL BRISKET. For a restaurant that offers so many vegan and vegetarian options, I'm disappointed to discover that not much is done to prevent cross contamination in the kitchen. And even if I wasn't a vegetarian, it's evident that the potatoes were cooked/reheated in a dirty pan. This is not okay! The food is mid here. It's not good. I don't know what any of the positive reviews are talking about, seriously!! This was my second time here and I more disappointed than the last! I went for the steak sandwich and a cup of soup. it looks a little on the little side but the flavors more than made up for the size. The sandwich had a pickled carrot topping and a spicy pepper mix.
