This place has gotten worse... I am done with this location. The one on Willamette is better even if you have to drive across town. Few times I have gone in I have to continuously ask for topping to be spread evenly because they does toss it on and its on one spot of the whole pizza. They also need to slow down a bit, because it like a race with them even when it is not busy. Last time I went in there was no Parmesan cheese shakers at all. I made the manager aware of this and the answer I got was that they just get stolen and a sorry. That type of answer does not sit well with me and is more of a oh well and now bugger off. Atmosphere was vibrant and hip. Service was friendly and fast. MOD individual sized pizza for $7.47 was a make your own with as many toppings as you want. I had a artichoke, cauliflower, mushroom, bacon with mozzarella cheese and white sauce. The thin crust was crispy just the way I like it. It was delicious. I also had a strawberry shake and you could tell it was made with real strawberries. That was delicious too. My daughters loved their pizza and the marionberrry lemonade tasted great too. After we were done and as we were walking out the staff yelled "Thank you!" This is a nice gesture that we do not take for granted. We will definitely go back. read more

I'm not usually one to leave reviews but I just had the worst and weirdest experience here. I made an order on DoorDash for pickup, and when I got there I realized that they closed in 10 minutes which was not shown on the app. The door was locked so I called the store, and the girl who answered the phone was like oh I have your order! We'll put it in right now. Which I thought was weird because I had waited a while to drive over after putting the order in... but whatever. I told her the door was already locked and she said "I promise it isn't". And I was like uhhh it definitely was but I'll check again. So I felt bad that it was this close to closing but to be fair they had a lot of time to put my order in. So I wait- for 20 minutes. Standing outside. And then I see the employee LEAVE AND GO TO HER CAR. And then the other employee turns off the light . so I left. I understand that it was close to closing time but why did they lie when I called? And why did they accept the order on DoorDash if they wouldn't fulfill it? I'm just so annoyed because I am now still hungry and wasted over 40 minutes of my time between the driving and the waiting outside. The employee definitely saw me outside the store too, she looked directly at me as she walked to her car. For context, I ordered around 9:15, got there at 9:50, and waited until 10:20- plenty of time for the pizza to be made. Very unprofessional. I'm just so confused, I understand if it was too close to closing, but they should have cancelled, instead of charging me, literally LYING over the phone and letting me waste my time. It's a real shame that this place doesn't exist nationwide. I am visiting from North Dakota and my goodness, they need one of these pizza joints. Do you know how that makes a big eater like me feel? No longer do I have to pay big bucks to fill my giant stomach! This is middle class eating for the lower class man! Less than $8 gets you a nice sized pizza with all the fixings. Don't like gluten? Don't like dairy? BOOM! Gluten free crust, dairy free cheese. HOW DO THEY DO IT?!?! WHERE DO YOU FIND DAIRY FREE COWS THAT MAKE DAIRY FREE MILK?! And they have unlimited refills on all their drinks... I got a float. They gave me half a cup of ice cream and I mixed it with some bomb lemonade. Oh and when I finished my ice cream they GAVE ME MORE ICE CREAM. FOR FREE! And the service... listen, I'm from the Midwest. I'm not a big fan of hipsters. But omg those trendy, bearded pizza artisans have got hands blessed by the gods themselves. Had to update review. Came in today for a salad. Employee who helped me was pretty rude. Second time in a few months. Seemed like making my salad was inconvenient for her. I pointed at an ingredient because I wasn't sure what it was and asked what it was. She got really rude about it. I merely pointed to an unknown item. My hand was quite a ways away. With so many great toppings and ingredients (30?) for pizza and salads, perhaps you might want to label them or teach employees to be a little more courteous when someone is unsure. They are the face of your business. At least the salad was good. Second time for mediocre service from this one employee. Wont be back for a while. read more

I really love the food at MOD Pizza. I love that you can build your own pizza, exactly how you want it. Their prices are very reasonable, too. My main problem with this place is that they don't have enough people working there. I have been there countless times and left because there was a line all the way out the door and only one person making the pizzas. Making a pizza is not exactly a quick task, so needless to say, a line all the way out the door means you won't be eating anytime soon if you're standing at the end of the line. At this point, I would think the manager would realize that they are doing well enough to add some extra staff during their busiest hours. This was our first time trying this place, we always hear so many good things about here that we decided what the heck lets try it. There was a pretty big line and it looks small from the outside. Line went pretty quick and there was ample seating. For lil less than 8 bucks you get a 11 inch pizza with whatever toppings you want, for 2 more you can get gluten free. I really like mods pizza and salads. The employees are so nice and I appreciate having a good pizza without costing you your first born child. My only complaint is that apparently they are not standing up to the mask required policy for Covid. A couple of ladies and a bunch of kids, most 12 or older were not wearing masks. The kids running all over the area. I know it is hard to confront people that just don't seem to care about the people around them. But this isn't the time to rebel! Sad to say that this was by far the worse experience I have had here. The radio was so loud that we could not hear the staff asking us questions, also ALL the employees were yelling over each other. It was like a frat party going on. Then they lost part of the order and we had to wait while a new pizza was made. To be fair they did offer free drinks and apologized profusely. The food is not bad- the service is atrocious. There are no adults working here and the kids don't know what they are doing. We waited in line for 30 minutes without anyone in line being greeted, served, or even noticed. They had at least 6 people working in that kitchen, but only 1 making pizzas- and they were ALL internet and phone orders. Many customers walked out after 15-20 min of not so much as a "sorry about the wait, we will be right with you". When I finally got to the fro t of the line, the girl asked if she could help me, and as I began to order, she straight up turned and walked away to help another employee make another internet pizza. I could not believe everyone working had hair exposed. Someone had a bushy beard and another one had shoulder length greasy hair. All I could think of is how many of those hairs are sitting in the toppings that they put on the pizza!? They work right over the open containers of pizza toppings! Not one hair net! They each have some kind of head wear like a bandanna head band or ball cap BUT THAT DOESN'T KEEP HAIR FROM FALLING OUT!! First, the pizza itself deserves a 4.5... My experience yesterday barely rated a 1. I saw a SHOCKING display of really poor management yesterday (June 6, 2017). My two young sons had been excited to try this restaurant after I'd told them about it and we were enjoying a nice afternoon out. As we waited in line, the gentleman in front of me was just about done and was being helped by a friendly young woman. Next to the woman stood a man who seems to have been the manager (I thought I heard that his name was Emanuel, but I may have been mistaken). He was going to make our pizzas. Suddenly, he yelled at his colleague/employee to STOP. He angrily asked her WHAT she thought she was doing! Clearly, she had no idea what he referring to and was as shocked and incredulous as the rest of us. After a minute or two of ranting, it turned out the a piece of chicken had found its way into the sausage! And, he said, just a few weeks ago, a secret shopper docked them TEN points because of this very sin! The manager grabbed the FULL sausage container rather violently and made a big display of throwing it all away, all the time muttering "pissed" this and "pissed" that. The worker handled herself very well and went right back to finishing her customer's pizza. Before she could ask him what more he wanted, the manager grabbed the almost-finished pizza, again, violently, and threw THAT away. Understand, there was NOTHING wrong with this pizza. The man who was ordering the pizza wasn't in the least concerned about his pizza and was clearly pretty upset that this worker was being treated this way. He confirmed this later when we were both waiting for our names to be called. The manager turned to us and explained that NO food could mix... that it was unsanitary... that, that... THE SECRET SHOPPER! I pointed out the ingredients in front of him and noted that they were mixed - something red as well as what appeared to be some chopped garlic were in with what appeared to be some kind of white cheese. I also suggested that, since all of the food was cooked and was also in such close proximity to one another, it really wasn't an issue of hygiene. He was sickeningly nice to us but I just couldn't muster an ounce of friendliness. At the end of the line, the original worker took our payment and I was able to tell her that I was so sorry that she had been treated so unfairly. Fast forward... as we were preparing to leave, the manager was sitting with two ladies chatting (as a note, he'd spent most of the time we were there sitting with customers)! He made the mistake of asking me how our visit was and, giving me the opening I was looking for, I was able to tell him JUST how our visit was. I told him that, if I'd been a secret shopper, I wouldn't have noticed any issues with the food because I would have been to busy being shocked and offended by his behavior. I also told him that any decent manager would have discussed any issues with his staff away from customers AND in a more appropriate way. I wanted to say more but I had my kids with me and I'd made my point. He said he was sorry but, honestly, I think he just wanted me to shut up. I don't like writing bad reviews and I don't want to give anyone trouble, but I really think that this needs to be addressed. When I told the worker how appalled I was another staff member said that they were used to it, that this manager was always like that. If that's the case, the owner needs to know that customers and, I am sure secret shoppers, are NOT interested in eating at a place where employees are humiliated. For me, it ruined the whole experience. Rather than having fun with my boys, I was preoccupied with what I should or shouldn't say and whether I should have spoken up more forcefully. In a word? When I got our order home, I realized they had messed up one of our orders and had squirted pesto on a BBQ pizza (this had not been requested). Instead of remaking it, no one said anything. First off. The pizza here is DELICIOUS. The idea of choosing any and all toppings for under $8 is phenomenal. The crust is perfect, and you get a nice crunch from the wood fire. Why the 3 stars? They need to have more people on the line making the pizzas. This has happened the last 3 times I've been in... line to the door because there is one poor soul making the pizzas. I felt terrible for this guy who had a huge line and nobody could help him. After waiting 20 min in line I left. I have thought of this as a place to stop when I want something quick- unfortunately, it is never quick. The line is typically to the door, and I have come and left before because of this. Good pizza for what it is. I have eaten here twice now and have enjoyed the pizza overall. It is fast food style pizza but with higher than fast food quality and taste. Having the ability to craft your own custom pizza as well as choose an already made recipe makes this a nice place to eat what you want to eat the way you want it. I recommend giving it a try if you are in the area near Coburg rd, although I wouldn't say it is pizza that can't be missed if you have to come from across town.
