Ate here last night and did not have a very good experience. The food has seriously gone downhill since I last ate at this location a couple years ago. They try to skimp out on the toppings and it simply doesn't taste as fresh. Overall mediocre pizza for high prices- Domino's tastes better. The worst part is the lack of cleanliness. I didn't see anyone change their gloves, and several toppings would fall into other containers and the employees would just leave them there. When scraping the bottom of the red onions to transfer it to a new container, I saw several peppers and mushrooms that were also together with the onions in the new container. I love, love Mod Pizza but, I can't eat here. I went when they first opened (a few yrs ago)and it was very good. I can not have tomatoes, peppers or anything that has touched them touch my food. So the person making my pizza would have to change their gloves and get new cheese, and then move down the line with me. That's ok except that I was holding the whole line up. (Sorry about that) They would cut my pizza with the same one as everyone else's and that makes me uncomfortable because i know it touched tomato sauce, peppers and other things I can not have. I do not want to go to hospital so my few visits when they first opened (a few yrs ago) is all for me. Unfortunately, Mod Pizza is not designed for people with food allergies. They do not have a designated area set up for this. I have asked and the reply is "we don't do that". So for that reason I just can not eat there. As much as I love Mod Pizza...I'm giving them one star because of the wait time is horrendous! I've come to this location 3 times in the last 2 weeks and both times I've waited anywhere from 20-30 minutes just to build a Mod salad. On one of those visits they lost 3 customers that came behind me. I wanted to leave as well but I was already about 15 minutes into my wait. I can only imagine the amount of money that Mod loses out because of this issue. It doesn't matter what time of day that you go it's still slow so be pretty to wait and make sure to pack a little patience because you'll be in line for a bit. This Mod location is one of my favorites. My partner and I came by to get a tasty dinner and weren't disappointed. How can you not like Mod's? You literally made your own pizza. No but seriously the topping selections here are great! I've been wanting to try anchovies and I saw they were on the menu, but I was still too scared to give them a try. I didn't know you could mix the sauces for your pizza. I got the spicy red sauce mixed with their pesto! It was the perfect savory tangy mix!! This location is attractive, because it's here on the board walk. After our delicious meal we put our leftovers away in the car (we got stuffed after each eating half of our pizzas) and took a walk around on this cold Saturday night. This place never disappoints. Relatively cheap considering the value you get. Any and all toppings you want with no extra charge! You can't beat that. The employees are always friendly and the food is fresh. I was simplify this restaurant for you: This place is Subway meets Little Caesars or Pizza Hut. If that does not work for you, this place is a pizza version of Chipotle. What I mean by that assessment is that you literally pick the size of dough that you want, 3 sizes available, the sauce, the cheese, the toppings, etc. They then go ahead and assemble this pizza as you vocalize your customization. Next an artisan bake the freshly assembled pizza right in front of your face in an open face oven. Pricing is moderate for an 11 inch pizza, roughly $8, but is worth it based on the fact that you get to put as many toppings as you desire on the pizza. There are even finishing sauces for your crust if you so desire. That garlic butter sauce did me quite well and I had them put it all over my pizza. Keep one truth in mind: the heavier the toppings on the pizza, the longer the pizza will take to cook. I opted for heavy meat (i.e. every meat available except anchovies), heavy cheeses (everything from feta to mozzarella), garlic, olives, etc. Mine took about 8 minutes to cook, while on average, everyone else had an average pizza wait time out about 5 minutes. The shake machine was down, so that took away from my experience, but all in all, I had an enjoyable eating experience. You can tell that the ingredients were fresh. You did not taste freezer burn or the toppings were not overly chewy. Expect to pay about $10 for a customized pizza and fountain drink with free refills while dining in. read more

Is there anything particularly special about the pizza? No. But overall it's solid - you (mostly) get what you pay for. I ordered one of the standard options (Tristan) and they forgot the pesto, which I didn't realize until I got home. That was disappointing but the pizza was still fine. The one annoying thing was that there is a Yelp checkin offer for a free pizza which no one understood. But they did eventually agree to honor it so +1 for customer service. Do I regret going? I normally go to the mod pizza off of the louetta and 249. I stopped by this one today and we beat the lunch crowd which was nice. I got the pepperoni pizza with meat cheese pineapple jalapeños more cheese and a glass of water. Then I wanted soda so I got a Coke. One thing I love about mod pizza is the ingredients are always really fresh and everything taste really good. The people that work there are usually very enthusiastic and happy to be there which is really good, it says a lot about the Mod culture and how they treat their employees. Everything was fresh in good and we got our mail in about seven minutes which allowed for some relaxation during our lunch break was nice. Get there before 11 AM though because around 1115 to 1120 the lunch rush comes in It gets really packed but the good thing is they run really well and do a good job and get you in and out very fast. I'll tell you what though I don't know if it was a cheese or what but my stomach was pretty upset for the rest of the day. Could be that I just not doing well with dairy not sure but my coworker stomach was upset as well. Good pizza though for the price you really can't beat it less than $10 for a huge pizza. read more

10/13 Employees super nice, asked how to spell my name and actually engaged with speaking to the customers. Another one even recommended adding the serrano peppers because they are spicier. Love spicy things and my pizza was definitely spicy. Clean environment as well. INTRO: now I have been to MOD many times, especially this location due to being very close to home. I have never paid much attention to what really goes on until recently and I am not impressed. FOOD: the restaurant was very busy and the line was moving quickly, which was great but this has got to be one of their most sloppy work. I came here with my bf and his little brother and my pizza making was after them. everything was going smoothly, we were getting our table, drinks, and we were eager to eat. I especially haven't eaten all day with it being 2:30pm already and I am ready to eat. our pizzas come out in an orderly fashion and I ask for ranch on mine as well. the picture is beautiful. we dig in to our pizzas and the boys love it. exactly what they want except mine tasted a little different than what I am used to. is it.. chewy? I asked my bf to taste it and he says it's fine so I eat one slice. no, the dough is definitely raw. really?? I take my sad looking pizza to the server that cuts and calls out names and I asked if there was any way I could get mine cooked longer. he said they aren't supposed to put in "cooked" pizzas back in so he gave me the option to remake it again. it was really odd but he gave me the parchment paper that had all the check boxes on it and asked me to write everything I had on my pizza. bruh.. most confusing thing ever. I don't work there?? and to top it all off he gave me the most greasiest sharpie I have ever seen. yuck!! WTF??! there is soooo many things wrong with that. cross-contamination, risk for allergies, and so much more. I am beyond lucky that I did not get sick. I was absolutely disgusted with the way the pizza cutters are used for ALL pizzas and never wiped off or cleaned for that matter. 2 pizza cutters and so much miscellaneous items on the blade of that pizza cutter. absolutely disgusting. apart from that, my pizza was cooked (thank god) but not worth the wait. sounds like so many problems and health violations to me. Why have I not come here sooner?! For the same cost as a one-topping Pizza Hut pizza, you can get unlimited toppings and all the variety you want! This is like the Chipotle of pizzas. You watch them make it in front of you, and they'll add whatever toppings you want. I may have overdone it and added too many though, so it was a tad bit heavy for the thin crust to support it. But nevertheless, it tasted amazing. We got the normal MOD size, which is 11 inches. Surprisingly, it came out of the oven fast. We only waited like 5-7 minutes.
