Before I begin, I have a question: Is MOD a play on the term "WOD"? Because everyone who works at this location looks like they CrossFit! It definitely lends credibility to the belief that you can eat whatever you want and still be ripped. Anywho, just like each winner of the CrossFit Games, MOD Pizza is a well-rounded winner! Parking/Location/Appearance: Located on Bellevue Way NE, MOD is visible from the street and has its own free parking lot. (Never underestimate the value of free parking in Washington cities...ugh.) The restaurant has indoor (variety of high bar seating and normal lower tables) and outdoor seating. There are plenty of seating options, and coupled with the fast turnover time, I can't imagine that it's often impossible to find a table, even during peak hours. The overall look of the restaurant seems to be another reference to CrossFit, with exposed beams, simple overhead lamps and an unfinished concrete floor. Ordering: The concept is super simple--customize your pizza (or salad) or choose from any of the combinations designed by MOD. There are dozens of meat and veggie ingredients with which to decorate your pizza and, best of all, you get unlimited toppings for the same price! Genius! When you get to the front of the line, you just have to know what you want (pizza/salad) and what size you'd like. From there, you choose your sauce and cheese before they let your imagination run wild and load up your pie with toppings. When you've made final touches, they shove the pizza into the oven, you pay, and within minutes, your fresh, hot pizza is sitting in front of you. Bonus: If you're not too caught up in the hustle and bustle of the fast-moving workers, you might notice a super cool machine that flattens the pizza dough into perfectly round canvases upon which your pizza will be built. Food: MOD's pizza always gives me a great pump (in my tummy)! The crust is on the thin side, and it's never been over- or under-done. I like the MOD red sauce but there are 4 other sauces to try if you're feeling adventurous. No matter what you like on your pizza, you'll definitely find toppings to suit your tastes. For me, it's crushed garlic and garlic cloves (yum!), double pepperoni and lots of veggies. Best of all, the pizza is always at peak-freshness. Value: For less than $12 you can get a pizza and a drink and leave completely satisfied. In terms of portion size, I'm the first to admit that I can eat quite a lot, but I found the regular pizza to be the perfect size for me. Fast-casual is on the rise and MOD does it sooo right. Service: I appreciated how patient the workers were throughout our experience. It was our first time (I've since been back two more times), and they quickly talked us through the options. Everyone moves around like they're doing HIIT sprints and they're always busy supersetting tasks. Fast and friendly service with super customizable food at a good price. Good for anyone with dietary restrictions because you can customize everything. They also serve bread sticks and salad. Their beer and wine is cheap too. Only issue at this location is parking. Their parking is free, but limited and you have to circle around a bit or you end up parking in parking spaces that are not Mod's (But try to only do that after other businesses are closed). Lots of tables to choose from and they have outdoor seating that is dog friendly! In the summer, we love coming here with our pup and eating on the patio. Only thing is that the patio is right on Bellevue Way so it can be noisy during certain times of the day. read more

As a once reviled "math person" who became a much more utilitarian "computer person" in adult life I was a bit confused as to what remainders had to do with pizza. My romantic nerd side still clings to the notion that M.O.D. does in fact not stand for Made On Demand but is instead a commentary on the quality, throughput and value that can be provided when eliminating everything except an effective assembly line and decor that at first made me wonder if I had accidentally walked into Chipotle, down to taking credit cards without issue for small tabs. $6.47 (tax included) gets you any personal-sized, slightly too big for a single meal but too small for two meals thin crust pizza, any number of toppings, with over 10 suggested combinations in about 5 minutes. I opted for the heroic Ulysses, with garlic, mushrooms, and a whole lot of cheese. It may have been the abundance of garlic (perhaps the influence of Mediterranean Kitchen down the street) but I did thoroughly enjoy my Latin delight, manageable enough to eat while walking down the street despite being cut into large quarters. Next time, and there surely will be one, I need to try more of a mad scientist variety, perhaps with hot sauce and sliced tomatoes. The likes of Tutta Bella and Via Tribunali probably are better for this style of pizza, but the difference is so negligible for the price and convenience (right by the northernmost 550 stop on Bellevue Way) that I believe M.O.D. has a bright future ahead of them, breathing new life into a location that has seemed divided and declining for years. read more

MOD Super Fast Pizza is a little bit like a New York pizza (well, sort of a distant second or third cousin) and falls into the thin crust variety. You're getting a moderate amount of toppings on a thin, but edible, crust here. You can self create (hence, Made on Demand) or choose amongst their pre-conceived selections. My favorite is the Mad Dog: marinara, pepperoni, sausage, thin meatballs and mozzarella cheese. Each pizza pretty much feeds one person and is cut into four slices. It's a decent amount of food without being an overwhelming gut bomb. Plus the price is fairly reasonable, $5.88. There's a small selection of drinks: pop, milk, bottled water and a beer or two. As for the Bellevue location, it's got a reasonably spaced interior with a small patio that looks out on Bellevue Way. There is a preponderance of Bellevue high school teenagers that populate the place, I'll leave it up to you whether that's good or bad ("And then Karen went up to talk to Tyler and OMG!" "OMG!" I ordered online the night before, crossing my fingers that pizzas would actually be waiting for me the next day. Within minutes of ordering I had an email confirmation, assuring me that all would go according to plan. I slept well that night. I arrived for my pick-up early, so they rushed my 3-pizza order and Viola!...it appeared in 5 minutes. The crust is ultra-thin, crispy cracker-like, which is just my style. The BBQ Chicken, Lucy Sunshine, and Caspian combos were a big hit at my client meeting, making me look oh-so sharp for choosing MOD. This has to be the best thing that happened to me this week! Finally I found a pizza place that gives you a great pizza, perfectly made to YOUR wishes, at a great price! Fresh and fast I like thin crust and don't like pizzas totally overwhelmed with cheese. MOD's pizza was perfect for me. Plus, they let you put any toppings that you like, all for free! Finally, I don't have to order pizza and tell them all the substitutions and fixes. I can just order pizza JUST AS I LIKE IT It may not seem like a big deal if you simply love one of the standard pizzas: plain cheese or cheese+pepperoni. These guys have found a way to make pizza in to fast food and yet still are able to have a great tasting product that you can customize to no end. After several visits to the Bellevue location I am sold on the idea of the personal sized pizza where they let you add any and all toppings you want (there's really no limit!), or you can choose from several of their own creations. There are even salads available that incorporate all of the same toppings you would find on the various pizza options. Each pizza they make is baked to order so you are always getting a hot and fresh product straight out of the oven. They are fast and efficient so you never have to wait very long even when the restaurant is packed with people. The service here so far has matched the overall concept of a good quality served fast and with a smile. My favorite pizza so far is the Mad Dog which has pepperoni, mild italian sausage, and crumbled meatballs with mozzarella and their signature red sauce, and to make it even better, I have them throw on some grilled chicken as well. I would like to try other creations, but I just can't help but ordering this delicious concoction every time I'm there. I am SO disappointed, I have never had a bad experience at a MOD before. We walked in, and was only second in line... took almost 15 minutes before we even got helped. They were just so extremely slow. When he asked for my name, (Alissa) he wrote ... Aslisa, I laughed and then he scribbled it out so I said " it's Al" and he aggressively said "I KNOW I KNOW" and then still wrote it wrong... then the next guy was so so slow putting on all our toppings, finally we paid and sat down. When our food came... they forgot the bbq sauce that comes on the caspian and our pizza wasn't even cooked all the way. I've been Mod Pizza many many times and I would say it's the best pizza in Bellevue area. I love their taste, love their friendly staff, and love their decoration. Today my son experienced a great moment in Mod Pizza, here is what happened. I ordered pizza online in advance for dinner, and arrived by 6pm for pickup the food, however, the parking slots were all full, so I parked on side of the road and ask my son (11 years old) to get the order. I told him, if the staff ask you "where is your parents" you can say "there is no parking here so he's just outside in the car". After 2 min, he's back with the food. I asked 'hey how things going", my son said "great, they don't have discrimination on kids. they understand the situation and just gave me the pizza." For west coast pizza, I'm kinda impressed by MOD and places like it that somehow make decent pizza. Don't get me wrong, my NY friends out there... This pizza cannot compete with the likes of that perfect slice with the sweet and savory crust thick enough to hold and fold while you French kiss a layer of mozzarella blanketing a marinara with a kick... But, it does kick the lust to the curb until you get back east to your true love. Just don't go overboard with the toppings or else your pie might suck. And, please ask for an arrabiata sauce so maybe they add that to their list of options, as it's pretty killer with some meatball and pepperoni and red peppers... I would say it is similar to CPK in terms of style of crust (it's not NY style thin, not deep dish style) and quality, but for a lot less money. There are lots of options to customize. Found this little gem on accident while headed to Fat Burger. And quite a little gem it is. Their gimmick is that you can order your pizza any way you want for a little less than $6. You can even do disgusting things like put pineapples on your pie, but that's a rant for another time. I'm a simple guy and if I were to try and describe this pizza to my fellow Joe's, it's like a fresh version of a Tostino's frozen pizza. To those of you who think that's a back handed compliment, it's not. I love Tostino's and if you don't, you and I can never be friends. The crust is crispy and chewy and the ingredients seem fresh. I've tried the Jasper (w/ pepperoni's instead of sausage) and the Mad Dog. Both are great w/ the Mad Dog tasting more like a Tostino's than the Jasper. If there is one knock on this pizza (and there is), it's the burnt edges. Maybe it's because the dough is so thin or maybe it's because the oven is too hot... I really don't know. What I do know is, I'm not a fan of burnt things. Decor: bla bla bla... I could give two poops about decor in most places and I'll never knock a place for decor. I have never been to a Mod Pizza before, but I love pizza so I had to try it out. I walked into the downtown Bellevue location on Bellevue Way and was instantly greeted by almost all of the employees! They were all so friendly and the girl who made my pizza was so sweet. They had a coworker with Down's syndrome working there and all the other employees were so encouraging and supportive of him, it melted my heart. My pizza was amazing, I just got a cheese but I'm simple like that. I loved it! When I left they said goodbye to me as well, and it's not like they were empty, there were a good amount of people in there. For about 7dollars, you get a personal sized pizza with as many toppings as you would like. There are also preset combinations that you can order. All pizzas are baked to order so you do get your pizza hot. I ordered a number 10, which is essentially a BBQ Chicken Pizza. The thin crust was decent, the pizza came out within 10 minutes of ordering, and even though it was not the best pizza ever, it was more than edible. I don't know how I could spend so little and still feel like I didn't get my money's worth. This place specializes in personal sized pizzas cooked to order. Flat price across the board of $5.88 for both specialty and build-your-own. Sounds good in theory, but in practice I was surprised at how "meh" it was. For a crust so thin (which is how I like it, truly I do!!) somehow the dough was undercooked?! I don't know how that is possible but there you go. I came in expecting something along the line of frozen trader joe's pizzas, and I think I'll stick with those. The interior is lively and fun, with a feeling that someone took an old mechanic's garage and threw a neo-50s pizza joint in it (I like it!). Parking may be a bit tough, but if you just take a quick walk down from Bellevue Square you're golden. This IS a first impression review, and the place is still fairly new. I used to work in Bellevue so I would drive by this place every day, but didn't stop by until last night for the first time. I have read about the social justice initiatives the company is involved with, so I was excited to visit after spending a rainy day at the mall. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. hit up this spot with some of the ladies from work a few weeks back, i was a virgin to the ordering system and yummy goodness. literally it's Made On Demand (MOD) Super Fast Pizza. They have some base sauces and toppings on the menu but you can add anything you want. Four ladies, four different pizzas, ready in about 10 minutes. As for the pizza itself, the crust was thin and crisp (think of the boboli type pizzas you can make at home), the sauce was yummy, the size perfect for lunch as it was light fare and right portion so i felt full but still gauranteed not to fall asleep from a food coma when i'm back at my desk. we got there at 11:30 and beat the lunch crowd but even during the busy time the wait is fast and there is ample seating inside.
