3.5 stars actually. I will explain the 1/2 off later on. I came here for dinner with my friends after making crepes for a sweet snack. We weren't astoundingly hungry, but I had only eaten an English muffin for lunch, so I had to get some food into my body system. Ya know? Originally, we had planned on going to Cheesecake Factory. But as everybody knows, this place is known for PACKING IN THE PEOPLE. Unsurprisingly, the we were required to wait an hour long if we had stayed. NO THANK YOU. So, we moved along and found Mod Pizza. My other friends had been here before, for a Girl's Night. They seemed to thoroughly enjoy it when they had previously came here, so I was expecting a good pie. The great thing about this place is that the pizza is 5 dollars and you can choose as many toppings as you want. ALSO, they have ding dongs. How cool is that?! I topped my pizza with mozzarella, tomato sauce, roasted red peppers, pineapple, basil (I WANTED SPINACH! They ran out), Canadian bacon, artichoke, and mushrooms. Overall, it was a decent pizza, but definitely not the best I've ever had. Mostly because of two reasons. The crust was thin, crunchy, and good, but I prefer eating my pizza NOT on a flimsy cracker. I would have to be in the type of mood to eat that kind of pie. Which is not often. I like my pizza a little more doughy and to have more of a crisp outer shell. The toppings were decent, I liked the sweetness from the pineapple, and tang and briny flavor of the artichoke hearts. The Canadian bacon was super flavorful, and savory. Cheese wasn't melted enough to my liking. The signature sauce was no good, it was supposedly their SIGNATURE, as in being known for it. Bland, under seasoned, and too thin. Yuck. I have not much to say about the food, as its not that bad. It definitely not tradition, but its alright for super fast american pizza. It is often times burnt and you practically have to babysit your pizza for them to get it right, but... The most I have to say about is the employees. Some of them are extremely nice, but the rest treat customers like they are nothing. The manger is rude and short with everyone. Barking orders like there's no tomorrow. There was a large man (who appeared to be in charge, as everyone was afraid of him) yelling at everyone. He yelled about items not being faced in the backroom. I really don't care about if a can is faced, I SO care about someone yelling over stupid things while I'm trying to enjoy my meal. Parts of the building (inside and out) looks like they need major work. They had a recent "remodel", but it appears like they spent to much money in one area and not enough in others. There are things being torn off the walls. Because of the burnt food, poor customer service and overall management's, I will not be back. If the employees are afraid of working there, perhaps they should check themselves. This place thinks it is local, and while they may have originates in Seattle they are nothing but a chain, like Pizza Hut. read more

I love MOD! It is our quick, easy, inexpensive, go to place when we are in a crunch for dinner. I love the BBQ Chicken pizza, but I also love to build my own with the pesto or garlic base. So many options to choose from! You can also go healthy by building your own salad. I love doing that with all of their amazing ingredients. I'm surprised no one has said anything about their cinnamon knots... they are so yummy. We tried them for my son for dessert and he cannot get enough! Now we have to hide them him so he will eat his pizza first! Great place, great atmosphere, great staff, can't go wrong here. I took off one star, because when ordering sometimes they seem like they are rushing you. Downgraded from 4 stars because they only had 2 high chairs. 2 IS NOT ENOUGH. This location gets a lot of little children and families, especially on the weekends. We were there with our little 1 year old, and at the very same time, there were 5 other high chair eligible toddlers/infants in the restaurant. We saw a group of parents/kids come in towards the end - looked like some sort of casual kid birthday get together. They all squished in some tables and sat and ate. I felt like the restaurant owner/manager/someone could have come out and put in a little kid-friendly extra welcome - like dessert or something. NEEDS TO BE MORE KID-FRIENDLY! My pizza was delicious. Ready very fast. My husband's pizza was delicious too. I should have ordered it to be LESS cooked, because it came out with burnt crust (no bueno). Tried the cinnamon strips. Delicious. Delicious build your own Thin Crust Pizza with unlimited toppings for like $6-7 that easily feeds two, and comes out hot and fresh from the oven in like five minutes. It's like Chipotle, except for pizza! :) I definitely want to come back again and try. It seems like a fun and cute place to be - and I love that they have an open restaurant/patio area in the back. On a long day at work and hot outside there is nothing like sipping a cold rich chocolate malt milkshake here. The damn bus was too crowded so I came in to just get a drink and sit down. The service here is hands down the best on Bellevue way as far as food goes (especially pizza!!) Marcia and Mikhail were so friendly and made me feel like I was their favorite customer of the day. As a dairy free person it's hard to find meals without any. Since everyone is all about gluten free not many places have dairy free. Upon arriving they helped me with dairy free options and let me know all the choices. It's amazing to be dairy free and have choices not just one option! I've realized that they've curated specific menu options to have certain flavor profiles, and that their combos really are stand-out. So I have to say that I love the pizza here. I really do. But I cannot give it more than 2 stars because of the service and my inability to actually get pizza from here. The last time I ordered ahead online and the pick up time was over 30 minutes from the time of order. I went to pick it up and still had to wait 15 minutes--they hadn't even started making the pizza yet. I've tried to place orders over the phone and no one picks up at their location. The last two times I've gone in it has been insanely loud, crowded, the bar where they prep the food has been super messy and it seemed like once the food line had stopped, there wasn't a person on the register. Instead someone was running around doing 2 or 3 things and another person was just manning the ice cream machine for shakes (and not busy). We waited 10 minutes to pay and could have just walked off to the waiting area. When we did get our pizza, two of them weren't cut at all, the slicer had been run over the toppings but not gone through the crust, I had to bring it back up to have them slice it. Would love to eat here more but after the last time we've kind of given up on it. read more

RIght the the clean cut, efficient and "healthy pizza" atmosphere that they have so effortlessly cultivated to the notice board with the most beautiful, creative and eye catching posters in all of down town Bellevue. The staff is super friendly and the service is astoundingly fast. But above all of that, there is the FOOD. The thin crust pizzas are to die, rather kill for. A variety of choices, what is most appealing is that it is equally easy to create your own pizza with whatever ingredients you want. And hey, if you do not want a pizza, the salads are equally appealing and refreshing. For a MEAT-aterian like me, I simply love that they are not stingy on the chicken or the sausage or the pepperoni and I can always go back for seconds and sometimes thirds. I like how you can pick toppings a la carte, like Subway, and there are plenty of choices and premade pizza options you can edit to your liking. The pizzas don't take to long to cook and taste pretty good too. My only complaints include that the crust is too thin for my tastes and a lack of hot wings on the menu. They've got pizza and salad, but no wings? To me they go together. I recommend this restaurant to any one else who goes, the pizzas are cheap too, none are more than ten dollars. read more

Okay, it probably doesn't get much better for this for that craving of an individual pie for yourself at a reasonable price in a cool atmosphere. MOD Pizza should satisfy all of those for you. I went here for lunch while after spending some time at Bell Square. This was on a Saturday at the lunch hour. As with any place in Seattle/Bellevue I anticipated the normal frustration to find parking and wasting 10 minutes driving around to find some parking. Two notes on this: it isn't that far from Bell Square so if you are already there and it is a nice day, consider just walking (it's just south of 4th on bellevue way). Second, they actually have their own parking area! It isn't huge but has probably about 10 spots. I was able to turn in and find a spot no problem. This is an order-then-sit-and-wait-to-hear-your-name kind of place (which is fine by me). The staff was very friendly and their menu is clear and has a single price. Thankfully (although my kids weren't with me this time) they have a kids pie (looked to be about half size) for half the price. Huge karma points for that. I got the Jasper (see menu, but basically sauce, cheese, shrooms, italian sausage) + meatballs. I also picked up a grape soda in the fridge as was craving that after I saw it. Total: $10. The soda keep in mind was $3 of that. Check Yelp before you get there as after I sat down I noticed a check-in deal for a free fountain drink...doh! The pie came out FAST. It is thin crust and looked to be about 10" or so. If you don't like thin crust then this probably won't be your place. It was hot and delicious. It just happened to be one of the 5 days of summer when I was there so the garage doors were open near the sitting counter area and it was just a great enjoyable lunch and people-watching venture. The place isn't big inside but pretty family friendly. I could imagine if this place was busy you might get frustrated, but they also have boxes for the individual pies for take away. Bottom line: the pie was delicious, the value superb. The sauce was good but probably could have had a bit more salt for my liking (something I could have easily done myself). I love this concept. I may like the concept more than I like the food, but make no mistake, I am a fan. I was turned on to MOD after being given a coupon for a free pizza by a coworker sometime last year (2010). Working in DT Bellevue, my usual pizza lunch involved a short walk to Topolinos. Reluctantly, I went with a few others who possessed these free pizza coupons and gave MOD a shot. Clean, fast, friendly service.. check. Cheap...check ($6.95). MOD offers up a surprising array of toppings, all fresh-looking, and serves beer and wine (optionally). The pizzas are thin-crust and relatively light on cheese and oil. I order pizza as a vehicle to deliver tomato-based sauce to my taste buds, so this is perfect for me. While I always leave pizza establishments fat and happy, I leave MOD in a different state. It is bizarro world.The pizza is certainly large enough for one person to eat and get "full", but eating at MOD doesn't feel like gluttony. It feels refreshing, whole, and friendly. I like that. Some people like big cheesy pizzas with a thick crust, loads of sauce and a lot of toppings. Those people will be giving MOD a "meh". Me - I like the thin crust, spare but rich toppings and Ding Dongs. MODs Sienna pizza is missing tomato sauce but makes it up with garlic and lots of it. The Jasper has a nice red sauce base with small pieces of sausage and big slices of mushrooms.The pizzas are great and won't leave you needing a nap (though that garlicy Sienna may require you to be sequestered for a day or two). I'd normally never bother with extra bread from a pizza place but the bread twists came recommended so I bit. The helpful gal at the register steered me away from the garlic twists (thank you) and towards the cinnamon (thank you, thank you). These were great and just needed a little extra oven heat on them when they got home. And a lesson to me: don't go to MOD after happy hour, my gin weakend judgement had me grabbing a Ding Dong from the platter of them by the register. Oh well, it is a pizza place so there has to be something unhealthy for you there. read more

This place is perfect for inexpensive lunches and individual personalized pizzas. They increased their prices slightly from when they first opened but it's still a really good value! You can add or take out toppings as you wish which makes ordering a breeze. Their staff is friendly and keep the restaurant really clean. Their condiments are always stocked and occasionally they even throw away your trash for you. If you like thin-crust pizza then you'll love this place. Everything is fresh, fast and you can see them make, cook and cut your pizza in front of you. The one downside is the parking. There are limited parking stalls for this place so try not to come during peak times but other than that, this place is awesome. read more
