This place is amazing! Best customer service I've ever had. I had an old iPhone 4s that started having charging problems. They replaced the battery (and charged me very little, since it was an old phone), but my phone still wouldn't hold a charge. So they ordered a brand new battery that got delivered in no time. I took my phone in with a cracked screen. The repair was shoddy, the screen they installed came loose from the phone and they just glued it back. When I took it to Verizon they said the glue was unheard of and rendered my phone irrevocably broken. I would have preferred they just tell me they could not fix my particular phone instead of try anyway. read more

Took my Lenovo laptop in to Mobile Kangaroo in Berkeley because the power cord was no longer working. Martine quickly diagnosed the problem (the connector for the power adapter was damaged), ordered the replacement part, and gave me an estimate for when they should get the part and complete the repair, and at what price. The laptop was repaired by the date estimated and for the price quoted. They preserved the hard drive in the process so the computer functions like it did before this problem arose. I appreciated the personalized service and fact that the repair could be expedited if I was willing to pay for next day shipping of the replacement part. I also appreciated that Derek understood I was in a rush due to an upcoming trip and repaired my phone as soon as the part came in. The policy of not charging for labor until the customer has received the repaired item and made sure it was working to his or her satisfaction is a good one. Exceptional customer service. The technician, 'Anderoo' (hilarious) was super helpful with my cracked screen and totally kind and gregarious. I've never seen a guy be able to juggle so many customers, meet such a demand with such ease and grace. The atmosphere is really relaxed. They've got TVs and comic books (which i found to be a cute change of pace). The only thing I can say in regards to improvement, is there should be more stock (like cases, headphones, accessories), and perhaps a tidy up a bit. I was so impressed with the way he seemed to handle so many things at the same time without compromising his customer care. He fixed my phone in seconds and saved my day! He also gave me lots of useful information on another phone I left for an assessment and tips on what to do if you ever get water damage on a phone. After chatting with three phone repair shops, I decided to use these folks. It was a great decision. They are efficient, professional, pleasant and competent. They did a fairly complicated repair (replaced charger port on a Galaxy Note) while I waited. Although they are in an area dominated by students, they treated me (a senior citizen) with respect. Battery for iPhone5S was not working great(can last 4-5hrs only). Went here and paid 50 for a new one. The one they installed can only last about 6hrs. Went back, asking to get my old one back and refund. They put another malfunction battery back that I couldn't even turn on my phone for more than 5 minutes. I suspect what they did was putting other malfunction batteries into customers phone instead of installing new ones. read more

Service has improved drastically. I went in again recently for a screen fix and the process was smooth for the most part. Only critique would be that the original fix was scheduled to take around 6 days and I didn't get notified till 1.5 weeks later. I went cos i broke my iphone 5 screen during bicycling , and it was fixed in 1 hour after waiting, then i found the ear peice is not working which worked before i gave for service, then another 30 mins to fix the issue. A day later my iphone wont start when searching in apple site for possible cause it said replace the orginial screen for it work. i am not sure how many time i will end up going there.. hope they resolve it. will update once they service again. read more

Mobile Kangaroo saved my iPhone - details below. I have gone there twice with my apple equipment. Both times they really made an effort and thoroughly examined the device in just one hour. Their service is stellar and I like their policy. iPhone repair details: While ring tones and alerts were ok, the loudspeaker of my iPhone 4s did not make any other sounds. Also the volume buttons did not work unless I used headphones. At the Emeryville Apple Store I was told I probably needed to get a replacement phone since something supposedly shorted in the 'iPhone equivalent of a sound card'. For a more definitive diagnosis I was recommended to schedule an appointment - first appointments available in 3 days. I next went to M.A.C. in Berkeley. Again, I was told the defect was irreparable, especially the fact of the volume buttons not working was thought to show some major problems in the hardware. I gave it a last try at Mobile Kangaroo. In contrast to the other stores, they offered to open the phone and do some tests. Replacing the loudspeaker unit did not help. However, they were optimistic they would be able to solve the problem by replacing the hardware part that feeds into the loudspeakers - directly beneath the speaker. They were right. They ordered it and when replaced got the loudspeaker back working. Thank you! read more
