My S4's active screen broke and I came here to replace it. Basically, they are the best at losing stuff inside and outside of the phone. They lost two of the rings covering some of the screws on the phone (I didn't mind since they were accessories and didn't affect its waterproofing). When I got back home with the phone, I noticed it wasn't closing properly, so I opened it and found out that they replaced a wire with another similar one from a different phone; the length of the wire was wrong so it took more space. (I replaced the wire) I just went swimming with the phone (S4 active is waterproof) and it got damaged; it doesn't charge from the USB anymore. I opened the phone and compared it with my brother's phone (who has the same exact phone) and apparently they didn't close a plastic cover that covered the USB so the water got in. The plastic USB cover gets closed by two screws. I assume they lost the two screws and didn't know what the plastic cover was. TL;DR they lost a lot of stuff from my phone including screws and a wire. Which resulted in a water damaged phone (my phone is waterproof) Edit: the manager, Ted, massaged me and understood everything. He also offered the full refund for the hand work on the phone (I.e. not the spare parts). He also said that the employee who fixed my phone doesn't work there anymore, so no one should be worried. Note: I haven't tried them now, so I can't say anything about their work now. read more

Phone and driver's license were stolen this weekend so I got a new SIM card but it was a standard size, and needed a nano size one. AT&T wouldn't give me a new SIM card since I didn't have a form of ID and I was told to come check out Mobile Kangaroo. The owner cut my SIM card for me, and it still didn't fit however he personally sanded it down to make it fit and everything works perfectly! He didn't even charge me for it! Paid $40 for them to unlock my handset, and found out later I could do the same thing myself online for 1/4 the cost. By all means, make a profit on the services you offer, but a 400% markup leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Edit: the manager contacted me and explained I should not have been charged $40 for an unlock code and offered to refund the difference. So, if you need a handset unlocked and are not confident using an online service, by all means, use these guys... just don't let them charge you $40! read more

Poor product and POOR customer service!Went in the other day and bought a charger for my iPhone in the morning. wanted to charge my phone during lunch and found out that the charger port is cracked before I try to plug it into the phone. Went back to the store and explained the situation but the guy with black hair behind the counter asked me if I cracked the port. I told him, No, I haven't even use it yet. He still questioned me and kept saying just to plug it in and take out could broke it. He did replace the charger at the end, but was just plain rude. I had to make 2 trips to the store for a charger and was being accused of broke their poorly made product. I mean how fragile is your product, did I bite on it and crack it? And on top of all that, the tech's attitude made me feel very bad, it was such an unpleasant experience. Would not recommend their service to anyone. read more

The store was quick to make amends after hearing of my dissatisfaction. It turns out that they really do care about the customers, and whatever happened earlier had been a fluke. They charged me $50 for an iPhone 5 battery replacement. In and out in ten minutes. This is great since it's barely half as much as Apple would charge, and Apple would require me to ship the phone and go without a device for a week. read more

My iphone 4 button was not working properly, so I came there and the guy solved the problem in under two minutes. He brushed some buildup from around the button using a toothbrush that was dipped in a lubricant and charged me 20 dollars, no receipt. I'm not sure what to think, so make up your mind on your own. read more

The employee is very nice, but this is no substitute for the kind of care that Apple provides. I was told I'd be lucky if they could diagnose the problem by the end of the day and that any fix might take a week or more. Despite having an appointment I had to wait to hear the news that any fix would be hugely delayed until after all the drop in people there ahead of me were served. It is really dirty, and hard to imagine this would be a good spot to have your computer opened and the sensitive electronics exposed. I would have been better off taking an appointment at the Genius Bar even if I had to wait a whole week. read more

OK, one week later I'm not quite as pleased with the replacement for my iPhone's back cover. A clear plastic sticker which should have been removed was left covering the camera lens after the repair. It didn't take very long for the plastic to get scuffed up, at which point upon close examination I noticed the plastic and removed it. But this did leave me with somewhat washed out photos for my trip to Yosemite. read more

Replaced my shattered iphone 6 screen after a 3 foot drop to concrete. First the Good: On the spot service. Honest. The sales guy told me it would be cheaper to go to apple, and the new screen was not an Apple OEM part, and their warranty would be void after replacement. The LCD quality is identical to Apple's as far as I can tell. I needed a new screen, and couldn't wait a week for an appointment with apple. so I went for. it. The Bad: The Bad looks like it's really a plus. the phone cracked in my pocket the next day. I figured fly by night company,too bad, i'm on my own. But! they contacted me and offered a replacement for the defective screen. I'll be headed in to replace shortly. So, MobileKangaroo stands by their product, which is pretty great. Wow, I didn't even have to come to the store to get great service! My iPhone had stopped working with no warning. I requested a quote through Yelp describing the problem, and Ted (the owner?) suggested trying a soft reset before bringing the phone in. A few seconds later, my phone is working again. AWFUL!! I took my phone here because it had battery problems. I went back a few hours later and they told me that they found masking tape INSIDE my phone and thats what was holding my battery together. They totally did this while I was gone to make it look like I had somehow tampered with it so that I would have to buy a new battery from THEM and no longer be on my Apple warranty.
