Without hesitation, they ordered me another new screen, and will replacing the old "new" screen once it gets in. Jeremy is among the most helpful person I've encountered in the cell phone repair industry. I went in with a defective lcd screen. Jeremy took a look at it gave me and honest estimate for the cost, and told me that he'd get it done by the afternoon at the latest. Mobile kangaroo doesn't try to screw you on diagnostic services. Jeremy gave me a call that same afternoon, and told me that he'd order an new lcd for me immediately. I didn't get charged any extra for any additional labor and the cost of the repair was exactly what he had quoted me.. The LCD got arrived in about 3 business days. I picked up the phone the next day. And unfortunately, there was a defective pixel on the screen. I showed it to Jeremy, he apologized, and ordered another lcd for me right away. When the 2nd LCD arrived, he re-installed the lcd free of charge. My phone is working very well now. Jeremy is awesome. If you need your phone fixed, check this place out. Awesome service! Derek was so helpful and nice - I couldn't recommend him higher. Went in with a cracked iphone screen and they fixed it within minutes for cheaper than all the other quotes I'd gotten. Then a week later a line appeared across the display. Almost certainly a freak occurrence (it was an old phone) but Derek fixed it free of charge - I only had to pay $15 for the part. Very fair, generous and efficient. Don't go anywhere else! read more

Wish I had come here 3 months ago. Cracked screen on my Droid HTC Incredible 2. Verizon was useless; my company couldn't help; bought a send-away box from Radio Shack but realized it'd be 3 days (I need the phone for work). Verizon still useless, my company still couldn't help. It was definitely a pleasant experience working with Ted on repairing my 4th generation iPod touch. Ted was very responsive to all inquiries I had via email regarding the service and price for the repair. He also did an excellent job with replacing the shattered screen of the iPod, as well as a faulty front-facing camera. After calling Samsung customer service, I was left vexed and disappointed. The conversation left a bitter taste in my mouth. After moving from an iPhone to a Galaxy Note, I started having minor to major issues with the phone. I explored forums and online reviews regarding one issues (the charging port) and noticed that Samsung in general has a chronic issue with its charging port/battery. If I knew this, I would have been more mindful regarding the change. I am rather use to AT&T's customer service; whereas, Samsung is lacking. Do not get me wrong, I love the phone but the glitches are unbearable for someone who uses their cell for work, home, etc. After speaking to my favorite AT&T retail outlet, they directed me to Mobile Kangaroo. Oh man. Anderoo was a lifesaver. My iPhone 4 wasn't turning on at all and although I thought it was a quick battery replacement issue, it turned out to be much more complicated. The procedure usually takes just a few minutes but Anderoo went way above and beyond, spending hours trying to diagnose the problem and fix my phone. I didn't even ask him to take another look; he just took it upon himself. And he didn't even charge me extra. Let me reiterate: he charged me the same amount for a repair that took close to 20x as long to complete. If you need your phone or laptop repaired, Mobile Kangaroo is the place to go. I'm not sure about the other workers there, but if they are half as engaged and helpful as Anderoo, you'll get the best service at the best price. read more

Fantastic service and support. I had an HTC Inspire Android. The digitizer was damaged so the screen needed to be replaced. No other shop was willing to look at the phone except Mobile Kangaroo. Andrew quoted a price and timeframe for repair. Well they were not able to repair it. So without hesitation or any suggestion from me they gave me an iPhone at no charge! Very bad service, hugely incompetent technicians, and completely absent attention to detail. My macbook had a fan issue and I was still on apple limited warranty. Took it to them and literally told them that the fan was not working. One week later they call me and tell me that they opened it up, dusted it up and now it's working again. I asked them if they ran tests to ensure that it works and they assured me they did. I take it home and fan still does not spin; they ran no tests and lied to me about it. I took it back and was very angry as they are an authorized apple repair location. The man apologized profusely and promised they can get it done in a few days. 3 days later an employee calls me and tells me that the fan was not working (which is literally what i told them from the start. they took 1 and a half weeks to make as much progress as I did 5 minutes at home) and they said they'll order a part from apple and when it comes they will install it. A few days later I call them and get no response so I go to their location and the manager told me that they ordered the part put it in and it still does not work and told me to go to the apple store and get my motherboard replaced as they did not do that. I was furious. Their incompetence dragged out a simple repair to more than 2 weeks. As a CS major, I was left without a laptop for 2 weeks because these people don't know what they are doing. I ended up just taking my laptop away and taking it to the apple store (albeit it was a bit farther) and they promptly did the repair (there was no motherboard issue... it was just simply the fan needed to be replaced). They either lied about the issue, or were so massively incompetent that they could not even install a new fan properly. TL;DR these people are grossly incompetent at their jobs and dragged out my repair for 2 weeks and in the end couldn't even complete and made me take it to the apple store. Absolutely appalling service, and their attention to detail is non-existent. Do not come here whatever you do. read more

UPDATE: The owner contacted me to apologize for the inconvenience and refunded the cost of the battery. OLD REVIEW: I brought my iPhone 5 in to have the battery replaced. It was draining extremely quickly and I had tried all of the recommended strategies to maintain charge, but nothing worked. I walked in last Saturday and the employee at the desk said that they had to order the battery and would give me a call when it came in. I got a call and brought the phone in during my lunch break on Friday. The employee told me to go have lunch and come back in a half hour, when it would be ready. I came back 30 minutes later and the employee told me that he had another project he was working on and didn't get to my phone yet. I explained that I worked in Oakland and needed to go back to work. I confirmed that the store closed at 6pm and said that I would return around 5:30 or so. After a long week of work, I fought my way through pouring rain rush hour traffic, struggled to find parking, arrived at Mobile Kangaroo and found the place LOCKED and BOLTED WITH MY PHONE INSIDE. I borrowed a phone and called the number listed on the door and no one answered. I waited until 6 to see if anyone would show up and no one did. The next morning I returned and retrieved my phone with new battery. I described the situation to the manager on duty and he offered a very weak apology. Apparently the employee on Friday had an emergency and left early. Mobile Kangaroo had my work phone number and my email address on the invoice and they never bothered to contact me and tell me that they were closing early and that I shouldn't come over. Also, no one left a note on the door to explain that they had closed early. I find the customer service to be inadequate and unprofessional. I understand that emergencies happen- but they knew I was planning to return that night and should have at least tried to contact me. Instead, they caused a lot of extra hassle. The manager seemed unconcerned, so apparently this is how things go. read more

Great service! I did not have a phone insurance, and the only option was buying a new phone. My carrier did not even look at the problem when I brought my phone to their branch, because repair is only done by the phone insurance. Mobile Kangaroo figured out the problem of my phone right at the spot and fixed it quickly. Had I had a phone insurance, it would take several days to get a new phone delivered. Took my dead Android tablet to these guys (it wouldn't boot past the Acer splash screen), and Andrew made a valiant effort to revive it. Although he didn't succeed, he took a sincere, even enthusiastic, interest in trying to bring the thing back to life. I had done a bunch of research before hand, so we collaborated a bit, and before he gave up, he even sent out an SOS to a couple other Android guys he knows around the country to see if there was anything else he could try. In the end, nothing could be done, so I wasn't charged. You can't beat that. While Andrew was the guy who worked on my device, there was another guy there, JC, who was just as helpful. So even though my device couldn't be saved, it was all around a good experience. If anything ever goes wrong with the replacement tablet I buy, this will be the first place I bring it for help. read more

broke glass on back cover of my phone when doing repair. No refund or discount offered. still charged me $109. phone they broke Samsung S6 Edge. No mention was ever made of fragile back glass. In fact, it wasn't even there for anything regarding back glass repair and there was no fracture in existing glass so don't make stuff up. I was told was it would cost 109 dollars and it would be available the next day. Also, it was in for a SIM card removal I was told the contacts for SIM card might be bent or damaged since it had the incorrect size SIM card. I went here to get my charging port replaced after I water damaged it. The price was $70, exact same as Samsung's repair (except I also get to save on shipping/time). The repair itself, only took around 2 hours, which was extremely convenient for a student. The total price was $60 including the YELP coupon, so in the end it was a pretty good experience. read more

We looked into a place that could repair my Ipod when we got back to berkeley. I found first a man who repairs your phone in front of you for 80$ in 30 min. Then I found Mobile Kangaroo on Yelp, with a yelp offer. (the only reason we chose it) My lab is just at 10 min of this shop, it sounds perfect. My boyfriend called the first time. They realized they don't have black screens for my Ipod 4th generation. Ok, sounds reasonable, they will have some next week, they will CALL my boyfriend back. They didn't. We call back, they will probably have some on Tuesday but they will CALL us to make sure. Tuesday arrives, nothing. The day after, my boyfriend just goes directly there, and yes, they had some that arrived yesterday... " It should take only a few hours, we'll CALL you when it's done". I just think, yes probably they are busy but I was waiting for 2 weeks, when it could only take half hour when I want. So my boyfriend called, asking and a guy says he was half way through and will call back if he can finish it... Nice, 30 minutes later, never call back. Do you have to camp in the store to make it faster? And is it at least too much to really call back if they say they will. Specially when they said it 3 times and never did. I've been to mobile kangaroo twice in the past year to replace my cracked screens. It costs around $75 to replace the screen normally, but with the yelp offer, it costs $60, which is a pretty g-ood price in comparison to other places (they can charge around $100). I don't remember the first guy's name, but I went again yesterday and Ted replaced my screen in about half an hour. He was super friendly and I was in and out of there in no time. He even gave me a 15% off coupon for any service the next time i need something done. read more
