My experience with this company has been ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. October 20th I went in to buy a new iphone charger, we tested it in the store, it only cost $10, it worked fine, so I went home. A few days later, it stopped working, so I went back to exchange it. I don't remember the guy who exchanged it for me, but he didn't give me a new receipt or put anything in the computer, he just threw it away and handed me a new one (charger). After about a week the new one stopped working, so I went to Walgreens to buy a new charger and that one works just fine. So, again, I head back to Mobile Kangaroo to return it. Now, I admit, I didn't read the bottom of the receipt, so I didn't see the "no returns on accessories" clause. It was only $10 so I didn't care. What I have a problem with is this: I was speaking with a technician named Nester Sierra, who POLITELY attempted to help me and explain the clause and what not. While I was speaking with him, another technician, TYLER SMITH, came downstairs with an attitude getting defensive saying I couldn't have my money back. Mind you, I didn't have an attitude and I wasn't asking for my money back after Nester told me he couldn't do anything about it. I kept my composure in the store, but I assure you, I am LIVID. I wish there was a manager or someone I could have spoken to about Tyler's behavior. I didn't scream or curse at anyone, I just walked out. But I will NEVER step foot in that store again, if that is the way even the politest of customers are treated and I am going to encourage others to follow suit. NOT okay. read more

They were fast and charming, and although they could have fixed the phone they advised her that it would be a better idea to just replace it because of the cheapness of her metro PCs phone. This place is MIRACULOUS. Ted, who was very friendly and understanding turned out to be a GENIUS at fixing my iPhone where the other places failed. He told me over the phone honestly that my chances were slim of revving this thing I had bought on eBay but that he was willing to give it a try. Other places charge to try (understandably as it takes real labor time to try) and Ted said he wouldn't charge me if he couldn't fix it and HE WAS ABLE TO FIX IT COMPLETELY WHEN EVERYONE ELSE SAID IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE! Great Service they were able to unlock my boyfriend's old iphone 3G so that I could use it on T-Moblie and back up and restore data. They did not have any 3G covers for sale but did have some old ones that people no longer wanted and they just gave it to me and it was a pretty good one at that. read more

it was the first time he ever replaced a screen on a Motorola Atrix phone so he did not know how long it would take. I was running late, arriving at 5pm when they asked that I be there by 4:30pm. They closed at 6pm. Despite the late arrival he was able to complete the fix - new glass, but not new digitizer b4 6pm. He was excited about the fact that Motorola did not fix the digitizer to the glass. Amazon says the glass screen was only $20, but I would have had big problems following "how to" videos on how make the change - wrong tools, wrong parts (adhesive tape, extra small Phillips screw drivers, snap on/off covers w/stick-um to the battery. Very good value for someone who knows what they are doing as opposed to trying to make it work following YouTube videos.The only downside was a lack of a clean, organized workbench. Instead he took the phone apart on the counter and a good breeze could have complicated things beyond recognition. These guys really know their stuff... read more

These guys replaced my screen and tried to fix an audio problem on my iphone. even though they couldnt fix the audio, they did do the screen. SOOO unhappy was i when it started malfunctioning a week or so later. BUT they replaced it for free when i walked in less than a month later, no big hurdles, simple, Great help, informal but functional and quick. read more

Today I had a battery replaced in my iphone 5. The technician assured me I would receive a new, apple supplied battery. When I got home I felt a little uncertainty because I hadn't seen my old battery, new battery package, etc. Also, it had zero charge which I thought was a little unusual for a new battery. So I downloaded some software, checked and saw that the battery had 637 cycles and a full charge capacity of 700 (vs 1430 design capacity). Not quite new. I have a screen capture with this information. When I called the tech, he said, gee, the battery must be defective and he would be happy to replace it. When I got to the store he changed his story to say that a colleague must have put an old battery in new packaging. I asked to see the original packaging and he produced a nondescript piece of flimsy plastic wrap not even shaped like the battery. Is that how li-ion batteries are shipped? Although I don't have absolute proof, I have to conclude that the tech purposely ripped me off by installing a used battery that cost him nothing. Helps to improve store margins, I suppose. Draw your own conclusions about whether another mobile kangaroo tech might have put a heavily used battery in new packaging. My conclusion is that it was a pathetic lie. Maybe the tech thought I was too clueless to check up on what he did. I wonder how many other customers are getting ripped off by mobile kangaroo. By the way, I called the corporate office in Santa Cruz. Their response: Sounds like a warranty issue! read more

The first replacement screen they ordered for my Oneplus One turned out to be defective, so they ordered another one and replaced it again at no extra charge. Final cost was very reasonable ($105 including a discount they gave for a barely-noticeable issue with the button lighting on the replacement screen) and the phone works great! read more

The staff at Mobile Kangaroo is brilliant and super nice. The young man who saved me and my iPhone 3GS stayed late to help all the customers - people, like me, who came in desperate and left happy. I had dropped my phone and the screen stopped working. First I'd gone to an Apple store, where I was told it couldn't be fixed - but they'd sell me a new phone. By some miracle, there wasn't time to complete the transaction before closing, giving me time to find Mobile Kangaroo. My old 3GS is fine with me. My cell phone died. I had dropped it. It worked fine for a day but then refused to charge. I visited my provider who informed me the phone was dead. I am not eligible for an upgraded phone until April so I had very few options. I could purchase a phone outside somewhere and bring it to the provider to have it added to my account. I could use my insurance and pay a deductible of around $100 and get a replacement phone. None of this sat right with me. That evening I searched for a cell phone repair in Berkeley. I came upon Mobile Kangaroo. I visited the store today and a very helpful young man took my phone and asked me to return in an hour. He said at that time, he'd have a better idea of what was wrong. He wanted a chance to charge the battery apart from the phone. When I returned, he informed me that he'd found the problem and it was only the charge port. He took another minute or so (after getting my permission) and installed the new charge port. The cost was $69.00. It was easy and affordable and he was very helpful. I will go to Mobile Kangaroo whenever I have another problem with either a laptop computer or a cell phone. Thank You! read more
