Go to Moab every year or two and always look for different places to eat or drink. however, I felt as though the employees were jaded by all the tourists in the area. Most were stand-offish. Mainly the bar employees. Me and a buddy of mine just wanted to enjoy some beer and play a few rounds of pool after a long off-road day. However, it turned into getting treated like shit and ignored. I went up to the bar and asked a black haired Hispanic employee who was working if I could please get another one of the IPA's you offer. It was relatively loud in there, however I said it loud enough for most people to hear. He didn't acknowledge me but I know he heard me. So I continued standing there at the edge of the bar(as we were playing pool) until a few minutes later he needed up pouring the beer and had a shi**y tone about it. Which would confirm he did in fact hear me because I didn't ask more than once. You can't have good beer and let shitty employees ruin the experience for you guys. This wasn't the only employee whom we had an issue with that night. But regardless, have no desire to go again and will simply go elsewhere when I'm in town again. read more

WOOF! I would not recommend this place for dinner or mixed drinks. Food is mediocre at best. One of their recommended drinks, a cosmo, was very weak and boring and maybe watered down. So to make sure, i ordered a second cosmo and it the same watered down boring drink. I had the Chile verde burrito, also recommend, which in my opinion, was hardly a chili verde; just a boring pork inside a flour tortilla. On a brighter note, the wings were good. There are better food choices in Moab. I hope the operators of this Micro Brew and Reataurant read this review and give customers a better tasting meal. read more

We stopped here on the way back home from our son's graduation from basic training. It was a block from the motel, so it fit the bill for something close-by. We both ordered burgers; she had a Jamaican blackened burger and I had their Brewery burger. The roasted red potatoes were very good, while the fries were bland, cold, and disappointing. I didn't mind, as my focus was on the burger. Chelle's burger was served bunless, and had mango-pineapple salsa on it. There was no detectable Jamaican jerk-type spice flavor which was unfortunate. Really just an overcooked burger with fruit and cilantro on it. The Brewery burger had roasted green chiles, bacon, Jack cheese, and I had the chipotle Ranch on the side. The Ranch was nice, mildy smoky with a touch of kick. The burger itself was very good, except for one thing that we both noticed about our food: the burger seemed to have a high amount of gristly bits. This is no direct reflection on the brewery per se, but it does reflect on the supplier of the meat. Ground beef, even 100% beef, is comprised of beef trimmings. A thrifty butcher might trim things a bit close to the bone, or might include more than a little connective tissue in those cuts. When that happens, you get those little chewy bits in your burger. I don't mind them, but I did notice more of them than probably should have been present. For someone who is sensitive to food textures, this is a problem. Chelle bailed about halfway through her burger, while I finished mine. If the "burger speed bumps" were absent, my burger would have been excellent. Probably a single bad batch, and other diners probably didn't notice. Oh yes, the Brewer's Brownie Sundae? Really, really good. read more

Really enjoyed the food and the beer! The atmosphere is very lively and the place was packed. I am vegetarian, so I really liked that there was a pretty big selection of vegetarian entrees to choose from. Most places have only one or two options. We got the beer battered onion rings and instead of the mustard they give you, we asked for something else and got a small little cup of the beer cheese soup to dip them in which was very good. Then we got the Asiago and garlic ravioli. This is very tasty too! I sampled some beers and the black raven stout and dead horse amber ale were my favorites!! read more

We sat down and were ready to order some beers, and our server responded, "You're going to hate me, but we are out of this, this and this." They were out of their seasonal beer mid-June. It was doubly frustrating as all the wait staff were wearing shirts advertising the seasonal brew. As a group we ordered the Greek pasta, the toasted almond salad, the vegetarian burrito, and a burger. The salad was bland - chilled chicken, celery and from-a-bag almonds. The dressing was good though. We left the pasta unfinished. The veggie burrito came with chili (seemingly from a can) and rice (that was reminiscent of rice-a-roni) neither were impressive enough to finish. The burrito itself seemed slapdash, as if the kitchen decided to throw whatever vegetables they had together. While each veggie itself was good, it was an odd combination for a burrito. The oddest place. If I could base my review on the setting it would be a 5 but.... Rode dirt bikes today and had some eats and a cold one on the brain. We approached the folks at the entrance (a buddy, his son and I). They would like to know if we would like to sit at the bar (sometimes younger folks can be seated in the bar during certain hours) and I reply sure. Then she asks if everyone is 21 yo. I wanted to ask if she was blind but did not. After we were shown to our table we sat, sat some and then sat a little more. Just before we walked out (and while 3-4 folks stood doing nothing at the front) Virginia showed up to save the day (apparently one of the few servers working, she gets a 5). She was nice, took are order and things were fine from there. Food was alright at best. Burger tasted like it was cooked two hours earlier and rewarmed but hard to say. Positives: very good beer cheese soup, inexpensive craft beer, good overall decor and location. Negatives: server was painfully slow for the first half of our dining experienced although she did improve once our meals arrived, both ordered chicken dishes and were underwhelmed, limited parking in lot. We were sat and had to wait for a bit to see our waitress and place our order. Unfortunately, our soup arrived prior to receiving our beers (which we did order first). I would definitely return for the soup. After receiving our beers, service did pick up (good), but the chicken dishes were very mediocre. Hoped for better, but if back in the area would be willing to give it another shot. read more

We came here on the advice of a friend, talk about crummy advice. First the good, the rootbeer and vegi chili were fantastic. Unfortunatly they could not overcome the major flaws we found. First, the service was worse than poor. Our server while a very nice guy. was never around when we needed him. Second, on the advice of our server three of us ordered burritos, what a mistake. The vegi burrito is nothing more than steamed veggies in a tortilla. The chicken burrito was chicken simmered in picante sauce, all heat and no flavor. My friend jim did have a great burger though, I have to give them that. Third and finally, the place while affordable was a mess. I've been to Moab many times, but had a bad experience years ago with the Moab Brewery and vowed not to go back. However, this time we were traveling with friends that swore by the place, so we joined them for dinner. I really should have asked that we change location... We had to wait for 30 minutes for a table, understandable because it was a busy weekend, but then our server didn't make it to our table for another 15 minutes; beer took another 10 to arrive, and by the time our food got to our table an hour later I was famished and ready to eat! Unfortunately, it wasn't in the cards... The fish & chips (which is my husband's favorite food) were pre-frozen sticks with little flavor; Van De Camp's would have been a big step up. I ordered a salmon hoagie, and my entire roll was eerie shades of green and white. I can' t believe that after going through the kitchen, the expediter and the server to get to me, someone didn't stop and have it remade; it was glaringly obvious the minute it was set in front of me! They offered to buy us something else, but my appetite was shot. After this, we didn't see our server much; she obviously tucked her tail and hid until we left, and I had to track someone down to pay our bill. Next time I will insist that we go elsewhere. read more

I was apprehensive when I saw the massive backlit sign advertising this huge place - it would have been more appropriate for a cheap motel. The place inside is as large as the big parking lot would imply with a mismash of stuff and decor. The IPA had a good nose, but no body, so it was just OK. The black bean soup was well done, and helped substantially by the addition of lots of fresh scallions. The chicken tortilla soup was also tasy. The lamb gyro salad was huge, and included those tasty (although of suspicious origin) gyro pressed lamb strips. I appreciated the light touch with the dressing. The tomatoes were inedible hothouse slices. Overall, good salad. The smoked salmon wrap was boring. The salmon was good, but the rest of the dish was bland. Considering the very reasonable prices, this place was worth it. read more

The Moab Brewery is better than I expected. The salads are good and fresh. My fish tacos were pretty good, too, though they put them in crunchy shells, which is odd for fish tacos. My husband liked his burger and loved the beer. The stuffed baked potatoes are enormous. The decor is awful though. Ads, souvenirs/gift shop, a jeep with a fake guy in it, and an awful dropped ceiling like you see in offices built in the 70s--ugh. read more

We went for lunch on our way out of town and I tried five of the beers and the only one I actually liked was the pilsner. They all lacked body, that works for the lager, but the ales could have used a little more character. The patio was nice, the burgers were average, the service was not good. Stopped by the evening of April 4th, 2012. My brother and I waited 15 minutes for a waitress to come by. When she finally showed up she let out big sigh and mumbled something under her breath. When we asked if everything was alright she gave us an unpleasant, "it's all good, whatever." The food was average, not great but not bad. Hard to eat hot wings when you waitress never comes back to refill your drink. Asked for a 2nd beer and 20 minutes later she comes by with the check...okay, I guess no beer? So I pay up and am getting my stuff on to leave and she slams, literally slams, the beer on the table. Great. Too many choices in Moab to waste a night of my one week of vacation at a place with lousy service. Went to Eddie McStiffs the next night and had GREAT service! read more

This is the kind of place, that when you enter the door and take a look around inside, you might want to just turn around and leave. There's no character to the room and videos of bruiser trucks clambering over rocks on the video screens. This is a brewery, so you'd think the beer would be good, not. With 80's acid rock on the juke box, it's a little difficult to relax. The food, an after thought. The service, ok, but not great. A miss as far as we're concerned. read more

tasty dinner! Fun atmosphere. My green chili burrito was really HUGE & flavorful. Filled with just pork in green chili sauce. The pork was tender & juicy. What is normally stuffed inside a burrito is served on the side. Rice, chili, sour cream, tomatoes & cheese. I loved that! & yet the burrito was still HUGE! This place would have earned themselves 4 stars if it wasn't for the manager. My friend ordered the Naughty Root Beer & it was not good. The root beer seemed flat so we asked the server (who was very pleasant & efficient) for a sample taste of just the root beer to compare. for the record, they offer free small samples of the root beer & beers. The bar server(yes, beverages are served by another server) brought a very LARGE glass of root beer but we didn't think much of it. But when the bill arrived we found we were charged for the large. We asked about the charge & our serve told us we'd have to speak to her manager . Ok, Nothing strange about that. Although the manager had already taken the charge off the bill, the manager told us we should have asked for a sample if we were just wanting a taste. Clearly assuming we hadn't. She treated us like we were trying to steal. Unfortunately that was the taste we left Moab Brewery with. read more
