Stopped by Mo'Bettahs while running errands one weekday afternoon. The staff greeted me right away. I let them know it was my first time and they were patient and helpful. Since I don't eat most meat, I opted to build my own plate. I chose the regular size with double the shrimp tempura and side of brown rice and side of macaroni salad. I also picked up a couple of spam musubis for my son. They informed me that there would be a short wait for the shrimp tempura and I didn't mind. Within minutes, the staff brought me my item. The food was tasty, and I did enjoy it, but was a little heavy on the tempura batter. My son devoured the musubis. I hope they add more seafood or meatless options on the menu in the future. I might return one day, but not anytime soon. read more

Mo' Bettahs - Regular with double the shrimp tempura - Hawaiian Near Me - Gilbert, Arizona

I made it to Mo' Bettahs after having seen their IG and FB ads for a while. I love their story, and that they make everything fresh. When I placed my order, the employees were quick to put my plates together and ring up my order. I did take a while to decide, but no one else was waiting to order so I took my sweet time. I feel like the chicken was slightly overcooked as some of the pieces were a bit charred. The Kalua Pig was right on the money! Ivory made this dish before and it is delicious! In addition to individual meals, they offer family packs as well as sides and desserts. I didn't get any this visit, but of course, they have Spam Musubi! They were going for $3.49 a pop! This place is still a little new, but they're serving up some good Hawaiian grub! I do wish they offered Kalbi Short Ribs and Meat Jun, a staple I can always get back home in Hawaii (at similar establishments). Prices are average. I liked that they weren't stingy with the teriyaki sauce because most places are! Give Mo' Bettahs a shot! read more

This is our 5th visit and it was definitely disappointing. It seems corporate have left from grand opening and the quality of meat went to crap! Sometimes they weigh the proteins and sometimes not. Very inconsistent. The meat quality and cut is yucky! The steak was grizzly and cut so large I couldn't cut with my plastic utensils. Best part is their teriyaki sauces, they are the best! This place was awesome during opening, we ate here 3 times within 2 weeks. read more

Had dinner here last Monday and it was busy. Stood in line and was helped out after a few minutes. The employee was super friendly, welcoming, and even did some small talk with me. I ordered two plates which came with two protein choices, rice, and a mac salad. I ordered the grilled chicken and shrimp tempura for one and for the other plate we had the Kalua pork. I also ordered egg rolls on the side. I had a BOGO coupon so my total came out to be about $25. We sat down and ate. The grilled chicken was delicious. It was grilled perfectly, flavorful and was served hot. The shrimp tempura was also delicious - hot and crispy! The sides were ok nothing special, and I could've maybe done another scoop of both. The Kalua pork was salty and some pieces were saltier than others. The inside was clean and a worker came around asking if we needed anything else while we ate - so nice. read more

First timer at Mo' Bettahs and it didn't disappoint. We got the opportunity to check out their grand opening and it's been my go for Hawaiian food since. Their drive through services are awesome too! Fast and fresh every time. My go to order is the mini plate teriyaki chicken and katsu with brown rice with veggies. Delicious! They offer soft drinks and Hawaiian drinks. Staff are friendly and helpful. I'll be back! read more

Mo' Bettahs - Mini - 2 Choice - Hawaiian Near Me - Gilbert, Arizona

I had seen something on Instagram about this place opening up in the East valley, and they sent me a coupon. You can never go wrong with Hawaiian food, so we decided to give him a try. This is one of those places where you go down the line and tell them what you want and they fill out your order right there. The prices are pretty darn good for the food that you get. I chose the mini plate which is not in any way mini. It came with two different meats and two sides. Normally it comes with a side of rice and another side, but they let me get a double side of mac salad instead. Between the three of us we tried the steak, chicken, and kalua pig. All really quite good. The macaroni salad was pretty good as well (although not quite as good as some other Hawaiian places in me area). The spam musubi is packaged so cute with little Hawaiian license plate stickers on them. This is a cute fast food dining room. There are some picnic tables with string lights above them, corrugated metal canopies over some tables, and some surfboards on the wall. Staff was great. When we got to the register the QR that loads when you click to use the coupon wouldn't load. The manager just said it was fine but she saw the email that I had the coupon and they didn't need the code. I really appreciate that because some managers would not be so quick to let It go. I would say this place definitely gives the other Hawaiian fast food place a run for the money. In fact, I'll say it is just better all around - better food and definitely better prices. read more

Having been to Mo' Bettahs in Salt Lake City, I was excited to see one open here and give it another try. For a fast-casual restaurant, this is definitely a solid option. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served quickly. I also appreciate that they weigh the protein portions, which helps ensure consistency from visit to visit--something that isn't always the case at similar restaurants. I ordered both the Teriyaki Chicken and the Pūlehu Chicken. Both are made with thigh meat, and while I enjoyed the flavor and tenderness, it would be nice to have a white meat option available for those who prefer it. The teriyaki had a nice balance of sweet and savory, while the Pūlehu offered a simple, peppery flavor. Meals are served with your choice of white or brown rice, with macaroni salad and the portion size was generous enough to leave me satisfied. My only knocks are: The employees weren't friendly nor unfriendly just kind of there. They also don't allow samples which is also disappointing. Overall, if you're looking for a quick, tasty meal with fresh ingredients and good value, Mo' Bettahs is worth checking out read more

Very excited for a new Hawaiian place! This location has a drive thru but I opted to go inside to see the vibe- very fun! It was very busy but understandable with it being a new location. I got a mini plate with katsu chicken and kalua pig, spam musubi, and POG juice... delicious! Only recommendation is get the teriyaki sauce not the katsu sauce. Xo -BB read more

Came in at 5 tonight with them being open for a week now, we expected a line so be patient and expecting, they did a great job moving through the line fast. There were several tables available to sit at but we took our order to go and it seemed like a lot were doing the same. I enjoyed the Aloha vibe with decor, the food and even their drinks! We enjoyed everything that we ordered. I got regular size dish with 2 protein choices and 3 side choices (I got Teri chicken and Teri steak with sides of rice and 2 scoops of macaroni salad. Hubby got "Da Big Boy" dish, 3 protein choices and 3 sides, he got same protein options as I did plus katsu chicken (delicious and crunchy!) We also ordered extra sides of Pork egg rolls and spam musubi. Mahalo to the manager and the Mo' Bettahs team for doing a great job! read more

Grand Opening! Swag for signing up for their app! DJ, cookies, spam musubi & more! Impressed with the portion size, service, speed, and quality of this place. The food was good. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Pork was perfectly moist and the stand out here for sure! However, it is super salty. The white rice was flaky and succulent. Mac pasta was just ok. I really enjoyed the teri sauce and got a free bottle for getting the app. Surpassed my expectations of what this would be like especially on opening day and what the business generously offered the community. Highly recommend you give them a try! Excellent Hawaiian BBQ. I'll be back again. *Note-Second location will open up in Phoenix in the next few weeks too! read more

It's Hawaiian plates, mostly. Similar to other places. Pretty good. The mac salad is better than most, so is probably come here before going to another Hawaiian plate place The spam musubi was nice. This was our first time at Mo' Bettahs and we thought it was good. Having been to multiple "Zippy's" locations in Hawaii, we were a little biased. For a fast-casual restaurant, this is definitely a good option. We ordered the Teriyaki chicken and Katsu. Everyone was very friendly and the service was quick and we will give it another try. read more

This was my first time at Bo' Bettahs. I ordered through drive through and it was quick. I ordered a mini plate that came with rice, macaroni salad and two meets. I got the teriyaki and the pork because I asked the lady when I ordered what was the two most popular. They were both so delicious! There was enough sauce to flavor the white rice. I am not a macaroni salad person so next time I plan to ask if there was a substitute. However, I brought it home and my husband liked it. The portion of a mini was perfect for me and I will definitely be back to order this! read more

Absolutely delicious!! Our family loves Mo'Bettahs. The food is fresh, tasty and a great price. My girls love their steak teriyaki while my husband I love the teriyaki chicken and katsu chicken combo. Service was fast and food was served with a bright smile. Store is clean. Parking is easy to park in. Bathrooms were clean. We're so happy that Mo'Bettahs is here in Gilbert. read more

Once was enough. chipotle style but with some of the worst version of Hawaiian food If your on a diet it will be a decent option they weigh each plate and you won't eat most the mac because it will be warm and veggies smell like they have been soaking in their own juices for days. Service was mid, the lady making the plates appears to be hard of hearing or don't care. Inside looks like any beach themed restaurant around the world. read more

Carl's JR was aight, but this place is... Mo' Bettahs!!! I was excited to check out the place that had been hyped, trying hard to keep my expectations at bay. However when I walked in on a Friday early evening I couldn't contain myself. The line had already reached out the door and I expected a wait. To my surprise, it was time to order before I even had time to scope the place out. Upon entering, I realized, we're not in Kan... I mean Carls JR anymore. No no, with the hand wave, I knew this place was Mo' Bettahs! I ordered two Regular Plates which gave my wife and I the chance to try the Katsu chicken, the Steak, Pork and even the tempura Shrimp. Pair all of that with white Rice, Macaroni salad and all of the amazing sauces we were in for a good time. We ate, enjoyed and secured our leftovers. Driving off into the sunset, our belly's full, we knew this would become part of our weekly rotation. Thank you to the friendly staff, the great food and the choice for Mo' Bettahs to bring this to the Gilbert, AZ area. read more

My husband is from Hawaii and is VERY picky about his Hawaiian food places, Mo'Bettahs passes the test in ALL the right ways. Fist off, he loves the food (I did too, but his opinion is much more informed ), the service was excellent and the place is brand new so it's sparkling clean. But even more so, he felt the Aloha! He was greeted and even got to talk to the owners and just felt like it was a little piece of home right here in the valley. I LOVE that they have a salad option too! Go try them out for sure! read more

We have been here probably 5 times at least. When it's good it's great, but when it's not good it's not so great. It's hit or miss. Last time it was perfect and so good. This time 6/23/26 5pm if this would have been my 1st time I would not have come back. The rice was not correctly cooked. It was still hard and crunchy. It was also gummy. Cooked to high of heat and not long enough probably. I couldn't eat it. The whole meal was very Luke warm and my husband's pork was dry. I also asked for 2 rice but got a macaroni instead. My chicken was good but barely warm. We went through the drive-through and it was extremely fast. Probably too fast! Will give this place a rest for a while. read more

Mo' Bettahs - Rice - Hawaiian Near Me - Gilbert, Arizona

We came to try this place for our self even though we didn't hear good things about through the grape vine. We were in between here and Muko down the street. Unfortunately we probably won't be back. We order 3 big plates, it came with 3 scoops of rice, 3 scoops of Mac salad, snd 3 meats. If you want the thinly cut terki steak it's an extra $2.00 (save your money) the tempura shrimp has not flavor, the teriyaki chicken was mid nothing to rant and rave over. We LOVE Mac salad over here. And this was is missing something, you can taste they are heavy on the mayo verse other places like Aloha or Muko. For the price the food and the food selection just wasn't the right fit for us, our kids didn't eat their food and they beg for Hawaiian food almost daily. However the restaurant is very clean, I didn't see any messes. The drink area was clean and neat. We were greeted when we walked in and the services helped explain how the plates worked and what meats they had. Little bummed we paid $75 for 3 plates and 4 drinks, and wasn't satisfied read more

Went to the drive through after work and was greeted with so much warmth! I wish I got her name. She was so sweet and so helpful and patient with my questions. I got the chicken katsu and chicken teriyaki mini plate and that plate was VERY filling. And the food was SOOOOO yummy. The macaroni salad was all right, but the rice was so good of course paired with the protein. I got all of the sauces and the spicy one was so yummy. Will definitely be coming back :) read more

Not great and expensive, if I have to choose between Ono and this place I think I'll do Ono. Teriyaki chicken was bland, shrimp tasted like mushy breading and sodas are not included in a meal ? read more

I ordered the mini plate with the pork and teriyaki chicken. The portion sizes were great! Easily made 2 meals for me. The pork was SO SALTY. I had to use teriyaki sauce to hide the salt and that barely helped. Very moist meat though Teriyaki chicken was good. Tender. Wish they cut it into strips though because using plastic silverware to cut it was near impossible. The rice was so so. Kind of bland. Mac salad was decent. A little too heavy on the mayo for me. Needed more of a balance of flavors. I asked if the POG was homemade or not. The guy couldn't give me a straight answer. I would've tried it if it was. Maybe someone can clarify if they make it in house or not. I would consider trying it one more time to see if it's any better as we love Hawaii and the food there! read more

Get the BOGO coupon food is awesome. It was a little busy being I was downtown, customer service is good, clean restrooms

I waited to write this after I ate here four times in six weeks. The first time, their grand opening. The food was good. Their "steak" was steak. They charge you a little more for this. It was very tasty and the quality and amount of the meat was impressive. The second time was within two weeks after. The "steak" has already changed. The amount has already changed. Either that, or the visible change in the meat made it seem less. I would say it was almost like flap meat. Third time, it was about the same. Food tasted like it was sitting. Meat dry. Not that busy. Fourth and final time, I ordered "Ohana" meals for four. Two of them. One was the "steak," the other the was chicken. My family thought the steak was disgusting. Dry, thin, maybe the consistency of thin flap meat. It was like jerky. We threw the whole pan out and just ate the chicken. In a matter of weeks, this restaurant changed that much. They pulled people in with quality meat during their grand opening--to jerky. Pretty disappointing. I don't see success for this restaurant. Too bad, because their workers are pleasant. read more

Finally got to stop by for lunch. Service was friendly but unfortunately the food wasn't very flavorful. Tried the kalua pork, katsu chicken, pulehu chicken and teriyaki beef. Kalua pork was a little too salty, katsu chicken was the best out of all the proteins I tried. Sadly the steak and pulehu chicken were not good and lacked seasoning, steak was tough. The most disappointing part was the mac salad which had no flavor either. Place did look clean. read more

Large portions. My chicken was tasty and cooked well. It was moist and not dry. Friendly staff and a clean restaurant.

Teriyaki chicken is inedible. Very fatty, and rubbery. Katsu is good if you get good cuts of it. I was going to order the Spam musabi but they are pre-wrapped/assembled and just sitting out on the counter by the register which was kinda gross, who knows how long they've been sitting out? Cooked rice can't sit out longer than 1-hour. Mac salad was a little bland, overall I'd put this place at 2 stars if it weren't for the katsu and music. They just need to have better quality control which I'm not sure why is lacking to begin with. read more

I had the teriyaki beef and wasn't impressed with the taste or price. Also, I didn't like my service. The place is new and looked clean.

I went today and thought it was the grand opening so I could get a BOGO plate but it wasn't offered, not sure if the sign they had was for a different day or not. Seen another sign they'd been training so I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I didn't get anything near as much portions as the pics on the other reviews and ordered two regular plates and one mini plate and I got the wrong order but didn't notice until I got home. Line was wayyyyy too long to go back and stand in to get the correct order. Difference between mini and regular is like $5 and an extra scoop of rice still get two meat options. It's ok. They have Hawaiian Sun so three stars! read more

All hype! nothing special about this hawaiian food. Typical katsu, teriyaki chicken, kalua. They do not make food it to order, it's like chipolte style, food already made and all they do is put it in the plate, also the weighing of the food threw me off a bit, saw the guy weigh the katsu then apparently was over the weight, so he removed 1 piece, like really? that made me laugh, like just give me that small piece my guy lol. The food doesn't taste bad, but sadly I'd rather go eat Ono's for being a chain, they have more variety. Oh also, their spam musabi was not that good either, regret buying it for that price is kind of ridiculous. read more

- Menu is confusing. The "2" plate description states "comes with two scoops of rice". So you pick two proteins and two "sides" thinking you'll still get the rice. Turns out, you were supposed to pick....the two scoops of rice. Because now all you get is the meat and mac salad. Both Moku and Ono give you 2 meats, 2 rice, AND 2 Mac salads... for exact same price. Make it make sense - The shrimp tempura is atrocious and mac salad has zero flavor. - The only redeemable quality was pretty decent chicken. - Definitely sticking with the other two competitors from now on. read more
