A friend and I met here at lunch time 12:30 on a Wednesday- both excited to try a new salad place. This place is definitely very popular The parking lot was very busy, as was the restaurant. They moved thru the line of people quickly and efficiently. My friend and I had both looked at the menu online enough to know what we wanted to order. We hadn't seen each other in a while- and we really wanted to concentrate on our friendship/not on a menu. We were both very happy with our choices. As well as seeing things we would happily order next time- or to takeaway to enjoy the next day. My friend had the chicken elote salad and I had the beet salad. The portion sizes were very generous and fresh. We found a 2 top inside to eat at in the corner against the front entrance glass. The only open table at this time. We found it to be extremely loud- we had a hard time hearing each other over all the other noises inside. We both commented we thought it would be even louder in the center with the high vaulted ceilings. There were a few tables in the front outside- but the sun was beating down on them- they need some kind of shade/ or break from the parking lot to make it more appealing. We also thought it would be loud out there as well. They do have a loyalty program that looks good- easy to join. I didn't this time because I was trying to devote my attention to my friendship and our conversation. We were thinking next time to take the salads back to her condo pool where it's quieter. But we wanted the whole experience the first time. When we left- the restaurant had cleared out some as well as the parking lot- so maybe try it not right at lunch time. The parking lot also appears to be a pay to park via a QR code. If you are craving some good but hearty salad this might be a place for you. You can build your own salad but got something from their menu. I tried the chicken cobb salad and my husband had the bachelor salad with steak and it was filling and so good. Love that you can see them build your salad infront of you. Service was quick. No soda available but they do offer teas and lemonade. read more

Mixt salad's new Walnut Creek location opened up today at 10:30am. I ordered an Orchard for the honey and a design your own for myself with bacon and ranch. They were also giving out juice shots to people in line. The service was prompt and friendly, and they're doing free tote bags for opening day as well. Stopped by for a healthy-ish lunch today. Place wasn't busy, but one noon came, it was packed. We ordered at the counter and everything was made fresh and to order. I got the Mandarin salad; dressing and the crispy chicken was excellent. We also ordered the Smokey sandwich; full of flavor and nice textures. We also got Dave's Taco Bowl- very good. Awesome place for a quick healthy lunch on the run. It used to be an iconic shop where you but Italian groceries. Now it is a Salad and more stop for a healthy lifestyle. I had bought a Mandarin salad with Grilled chicken and a Daves Taco bowl with Brown rice and Blackened chicken. Daves salad dressing had a kick but is tasty. Nice friendly and quick staff made it simple to order at counter. Lots of seats inside and some outside. Plenty of parking too. Honestly, this is a great spot to grab a quick, fresh salad. They have tons of toppings to customize your salad exactly how you want it. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Cobb salad, swapped the blue cheese for cheddar, and replaced the vinaigrette with their sriracha ranch, highly recommend! The portions are huge and could easily be shared. I took my order to go since I was on my lunch break, but the restaurant itself was clean and the staff was friendly. That said, I tried coming back for dinner today (Monday, August 3) after a hike because I was craving it and wanted my partner to try it too. We got there around 8:10 PM, and to our surprise they were already closed, even though their posted hours on Yelp, Google, and other platforms all said they closed at 9:00 PM. It was definitely disappointing, especially since we almost walked there expecting them to be open. My only real complaint is to please update your business hours across all platforms so customers know when you're actually open. Other than that, I'll definitely be back and I'm looking forward to trying more of the salads on the menu! read more

This place is not worth the money. The only thing fresh is their salad. I ordered a bachelor and my cousin a Cesar. The bachelor was disgusting beyond edeible. The steak was pulled under the counter like magic. Didn't taste good at all what so ever. The Caesar salad chicken was tasteless and just unappetizing all around. Some may like this as the lines are long but I found this as nasty and I don't say that about food when people world wide do have hunger problems. Save your money elsewhere read more

The staff was friendly . The service was quick . But I almost cracked my tooth eating a salad . I ordered steak as my protein (which was the culprit) I bit down very hard on small piece of bone no bigger than 1-2 cm . Thought okay it happens ... took another bite and had more small bone fragments. Now I'm sitting here chewing my salad very slowly .... Not sure if I'll return after this experience... Typical "you pick the ingredients" type salad shop that has menu salads and bowls . We had the Do It Yourself and the BBQ Bowl. The DYO salad was just about as average that you get at most shops like this but with a few more choices (you get five items). The Barbecue Bowl was very good with lots of chicken and other items with a spicy BBQ sauce drizzle that was outstanding. I might add it was nice to order and get one of their store drinks that tasted very good and wasn't in a glass that was overfilled with ice. Went again today to pick up lunch, and managers were incredibly helpful and nice, and again... delicious salads! Portions so large, I can save half for a second meal! The concept is great; I haven't seen a salad bar quite like this and the Beetnix salad was very good. No complaints at all with the salad I ordered. I was surprised and disappointed in the lack of choices for people who don't eat meat. Only two salads, one warm salad and one sandwich offered no meat at all. Not all non-meat eaters want tofu and only tofu as an option. Yes, we can build our own, but if it's anything like building your own pizza, it costs a lot more to do. What I did not like was the acoustics in the Walnut Creek location is very bad. When the four of us got there before lunch, it wasn't so bad, but I could already tell the acoustics was not good. By the time I left at 1:00 pm on a Saturday and lots more people were there, I couldn't hear what the person across the table from me was saying. It was so annoying that I left the restaurant as soon as I could without being rude to my friends. I'll go back for take out, but won't eat in unless it's at odd, quiet hours.
