The summer of wraps? Yes please! I have been noticing the marketing for Starbird and their summer of wraps, and ironically while in Walnut Creek, I was right next-door to their East Bay location..kismet timing? Literally every wrap on the menu looked delicious, but we went with the Thai Chicken Wrap and the Crispy Chicken Caesar Wrap. We ended up adding a side and a small drink (an additional $5 or so) and did the Fries and Rainbow Slaw. So filling, and so worth the wait to try Starbird Chicken..already can't wait to come back if I'm in the WC area again near Ygnacio Valley Rd again soon. Outside of the wraps, they offer huge salads, chicken tendie boxes, sandwiches, wings, kiddo meals, a plethora of sides, platters, family packs, dessert, and lotsa yummy dipping sauces. The plaza is very busy, and parking is hectic. Finally, after a few circling around we found a spot. I ordered 12 wings with Thai Chili and Garlic Parmesan flavors. I asked for all flats, but I guess they didn't hear me. Oh well.. However, the chicken was packed with flavor and crispy. I also tried the Okonomiyaki Fries, basically like Takoyaki on fries, and I like it! My BF ordered the Starbird 2.0 sandwich with truffle fries, and he really loved it! This review is for the management of this location. I had a terrible experience at this Starboard location. It was over 102°F outside, and the air conditioning inside clearly wasn't working. All of the doors were propped open, making the store feel like an oven. When I asked an employee if the A/C was working, they insisted that it was. If that's true, then why were all the doors open? The heat made it extremely uncomfortable to enjoy a meal inside the restaurants, and it felt like customer comfort wasn't being taken seriously. We were in the area the other week and were curious what this shop was. Then we saw some gift cards for sale in the nearby Costco, and I was wondering if we would be able to spend the amount that the gift card offers lol! We finally got to try Starbird today, and we got the Indian hotbird sandwich, Avo Cabo salad, and a side of fries. My fat fingers accidentally hit the "lettuce wrap, no bun" option for the Indian hotbird sandwich when we ordered at the kiosk (we didn't figure this out until we opened the box at home). Even though that was the case, they used romaine lettuce, and it was so crisp. The Indian hotbird tenders had a good flavor profile, and it wasn't that spicy. I would order this again, but would probably go for the regular bun option lol. The chicken was a bit soggy for this one, since it had lots of sauce and romaine lettuce, but again, I accidentally clicked for the lettuce, which I would expect to add to the sogginess of the crispy chicken. The Avo Cabo salad was HUGE! Definitely good as a standalone meal or to share. There was also a generous amount of crispy chicken in there chopped up. The chicken was pretty crispy even though it was next to the lettuce in this box, maybe a bit on the salty side for me, when the dressing was added to it. There is also a good amount of batter on the chicken. I am not a fan of cotija cheese because of the smell, but I can see how people would enjoy that. I would probably order it without cotija next time. I really liked the jicama...it seemed like it had a bit of tajin. The jicama was crunchy but had a bit of a softness to it, like a Korean pear texture. I also liked that there was avocado in this salad, which is also why I chose it. For $4.27, the fries were kind of small. It had a nice amount of salt, but was more on the soggy side for me. My husband enjoyed the sogginess of the fries, though. I would probably order these extra crispy next time. Service was friendly. Even though we didn't click on the utensils and napkins for checkout at the kiosk, they ensured that we got some when they offered and we took them up on their offer. There were some tables that seemed dirty when we came in, but probably they were dealing more so with the dinner time rush for to-go orders rather than getting to clean the tables. Love the chicken but hate the fries. They are soft and soggy by the time I drive home - only a five minute drive. Even when you eat there they are very soft and have no crispness to them unlike the chicken which is very crispy. Fries definitely need to be improved. read more

I am a sale rep and GrubHub bungled my order, left most of it on the counter at the location & refused to remediate. I ended up paying twice for an order for a doctors office & Grubhub was abysmal. They refused to refund the forgotten order....But Betty - she personally called me to offer her help and solutions, and spent time on the phone advocating for my.
